If you are like me, then you ADORE Star Wars and think it's one of the best things since sliced bread. And if we are still assuming you are like me, then you're getting super pumped for Episode VII. And like me, you have mixed feelings about the prequels. So I'm gonna give you my opinion about the prequels that you never asked for.

Phantom Menace: I liked it, sure Jar-Jar is a dickhead and his whole race sucks, but I liked the combat, the acting wasn't the worst and I always like seeing the backstories to Sith Lords (Especially of Darth Vader, who is the best Sith Lord.) I guess I understand why people don't like kid Anakin, but I think giving him some humanity adds more to IV-VI, especially when he reverts back to the light side. Also Liam Neeson.

Attack of the Clones: Alright, so, lemme just say, Love the concept, and Ewan Mcgregor was great. Now that that's out of the way, I didn't realize how bad this movie was until people started telling me why it was bad. Hayden Christiansen is a decent actor in III, but he just came off as creepy most of the movie. And those incredibly awkward interactions between Anakin and Padme are possibly worse than the Breaking Bad family meal scenes. Probably worse because they weren't even trying to be awkward.

And I don't give a shit about Padme, Natalie Portman was just kinda Meh.

Revenge of the Sith: By far the best movie in the trilogy, Hayden was certainly improved and Ewan's speech to Anakin towards the end was amazing. It was a more emotional and hard hitting movie than the others and it was such an improvement on the last one that I can't help but praise it. The beginning was a little slow, I admit, but it picked up quick.

All in All, I think this trilogy redeemed itself by the end. It certainly isn't the best trilogy out there, but there are worse.... *Cough* Transformers *Cough*

I liked the Phantom Menace because, being nine years old at the time it came out, I was exactly in the group it was marketed to. So to me, the Phantom Menace is symbolic of that period of my life when I was fighting the neighbor kids in fake light saber duels and saving my five dollar a week allowance to buy action figures. I'm not committed to Star Wars enough for my feelings about it the movie change either. It's a part of my childhood.

The Clones Wars, however, is a different story. I was out of the Star Wars part of my childhood, living in a different neighborhood with a completely different set of friends and interests. Because the movie was weak and I wasn't looking at it through rose-colored glasses, it still comes off as by far the most boring to me. I'm not sure I will ever sit through it again. I have no reason to.

The Revenge of the Sith has more going on in it out of the three prequels, but there is still something off about it. Like, there are enough cool fights and quick-moving action scenes to keep my interest, but the entire affair feels... I dunno, almost B movie-ish. It lacks polish I think. I dunno, I'm not really an expert.
