History: Born to a single mother in East London, Atticus has struggled with poverty his entire life, including having to go hungry for days on end, all so that he and his mother could survive in their "Shed with Beds" as the landlord called it. In spite of his hunger, Atticus knew the only way up in the world was to grind and scrape and claw his way up there, pinching every pence he could get, and he knew he had to be willing to take a pound for his Pound. Working three jobs usually, he scrounged what he could with his mother to be able to eat at least two meals a day, at which point he felt content, more than glad to stave off hunger on bread and maybe jam if they could get it.

Of course, living in the slums of London isn't always sunshine and roses. Being the small kid, there were naturally asshats who'd pick on him, and despite how bad it got sometimes, Atticus kept his chin up and didn't fight back. Ma said that good boys don't fight for no reason. Course, they stopped picking when the sprout reached about 1.9 meters. Growing up was hard, especially since he eventually had to get an education and leave his mom to work to feed them both. It was either that or by government mandate he'd be taken away and put...somewhere. He didn't really know, just that he hated anybody trying to take anything else away from his Ma. Begrudgingly, Atticus Haywood enrolled in Magiciana, hoping that maybe some real good parlor tricks might be enough to get him into show biz.
