@WhoamiWhich is exactly why that EMP didn't completely destroy every circuit in that mech :P
I checked the character sheets before posting, to see how I could make the game more fun for those people.
Since I'm here to make the game more interesting, I thought that offering an enemy with an IQ higher than 80 (most mooks the team fought so far see to be below this) would add some challenge without involving a mass numerical advantage or the presence of overpowered mechs(see Curb Stomp battle).

Should I stop using Common Sense(TM)?

And you happen to have one built into your mech? It can't protect the entire machine, only certain internal parts. So unless you have a very special kind of shield built into your armour, bad luck?

If Faraday cages were that easy to employ, every modern vehicle would have one. And while modern cars do act as Faraday cages, they still get shut down by EMP :P


No, it's just that you didn't mention that as a counter measure against EMP.
I was like, "Nuuuuu! He forgot about Faraday Cages!!!!!!"

Wait, do Faraday cages protect against EMP on a large scale? I know their basic principle, but seems to me like you can only protect whatever is inside such a cage from a mass EMP blast if you have a proportionally large enough cage.

I may need to read up on that more. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

You'll also have to insulate the electronics from directly touching the cage.
And yes they do. As long as the design is capable of properly concentrating the effect along the cage, the electronics inside should be safe.

Reason why I see people 'foiling' the interior of houses sometimes.

Think in terms of similar to a lightning rod for the cage, and a lightning strike as the cage. However, a lightning rod will not affect an EMP, so don't confuse this example with reality~!

I was thinking the first one? The Odyssey Protocol being started activated a tracking beacon inside the Eagle so the Lincoln could know where it, and the POWs, are being taken and send a rescue team there, meanwhile, Alice would try her darndest to break them out so they can all be ready to be rescued
