Cleopatra starting global wars since before You were born

The Imperial Navy is likely to have a genuine advantage in terms of firepower, so there's that. What sort of Fleet Composition are you focusing toward?

@Frengo@Enzayne

Standard or Drop are both fine-and-dandy, all have their uses to the Imperium...

As for the fleet, what were you thinking, Enzayne?

On another, but no unrelated note, I am seeking writers and Guard enthusiasts for my little side-project here;

I honestly believe that, with a few dedicated writers, it could work out to be a brilliant and enjoyable time.

Oh, and last of all, I never thought that this thread/idea would take off like this! I just wanted some 40K to write about.

Oh, and last (last) of all, I'll try to get an OOC up soon...but I'm enjoying the discussion(s) going on at the moment.

I'll have to think about it, seeing as though this is just starting up. I'm glad to hear the OOC will be coming along soon. Discussion is good for RPs like this, I hope we have interesting challenges to face while fighting the Consortium.

Grim darkness of future is filled with interesting challenges, although I have to say that I'm interested in knowing if is the Consortium going keep their hands "clean" or if they eventually turn to Ruinous powers or if we find genestealers having peaceful orgies in the noble houses.

Also, if I am going to take the Priests of Linux, what could be the motivation of my character(s)? Mechanicus, greed bastards, aren't usually willing to send their forces just because of some missing tithes. Could there be something like STC on the planet? Or at least wreck of some bigger titan or anything that would attract the red-robed vultures?

It certainly looks cool and I'd like to join, but the "advanced" stamp a little bit frightened me. I'm not sure if I really can clash with the titans just yet.

@Cleopatra@Rotmouse

S'll good, I don't expect everyone to just run over there...I'll likely have another idea up within a couple of days anyway; it involves Grimdark Space Pirate warp-trickery goodness.

On that note, don't be afraid @Rotmouse, 'advanced' is somewhere I put things that I expect a good standard of writing from. That said, I never expect more than people are capable of and, if you're adding to the RP but make one or two mistakes along the way, I can easily ignore it. :)

Aaaaas for why the Red Robes are coming, I will eventually be discussing objectives and agendas with all participants over PM. I forsee this RP becoming something great, if everyone can keep it together.

As for the Consortium, they are former Imperial servants with large resources, well-trained and equipped PDF/Guard regiments at their disposal, a burning desire of independence and will certainly prove a challenge for the Imperium...not quite Horus Heresy scale, but dangerous nonetheless.

@Jbcool @Cleopatra

I was thinking a contingent headed by a single battleship and seeded with your standard fare of navy goodies; cruisers of the generic variety, a few heavies flanking the flagship, and a collection of lights as a vanguard. Round it out with enough escorts to screen the battlefleet, but not enough to thin themselves all over the sub-sector.

The actual numbers are less important to me, and probably something we should hammer out later (if you are okay with this in the first place), but I am interested in commanding a fleet rather than a mere detachment. I am assuming that the Consortium has enough loyalists to put up a relatively solid slugging match against a decent imperial response.
