I'm not sure whether to go ahead and advertise for more people. Honestly I have no idea what to do with new people if they did join -- things are so far along and so deep into the plot that it wouldn't be fair. :/

I feel that you've done a good job so far with the new players though... I understand how you feel though, I always feel weird joining an RP that's open but has like as much work as we have here done. I feel like I wouldn't do it justice sometimes.

Another unrelated note, I feel like I'm dragging Artemis around against her will, and I don't like that I'm doing that. :/

I should let you guys separate and just run two storylines until they intersect again. That might actually be best for character development.

haha i mean, against artemis' will, but not necessarily against mine. i do kinda like the idea of her breaking away from anise tho. it could be really interesting to see how they could impact the story independently, and it gives me an opportunity to get better situated in this world. i'm still sort of getting a handle on her character and her motivations, and she's pretty disoriented right now, with things getting thrown at her left and right. doesn't make defining her very easy for me. not to say anything against your storytelling, per se. i think it's a good thing that she's kinda being stripped down at the very beginning.

but yeah, she doesn't really have any goals or motivations right now, while anise clearly does. i think it might be a good thing for her to branch off for now, get settled, i can figure out who she is properly, and all that. otherwise i think we run the risk of her just tagging along on anise's quest as a side character.

This is exactly my greatest fear with bringing in new characters. Anise is such a strong character, and has been at this year-long RP from day one. Artemis has some serious leveling up to do.

on a funny side note, i realized i nearly joined this rp when it first started. i barely got a cs started before i dropped off the rp map and took a hiatus. a cook named ian or wesley or something. found him on the first couple pages of the ooc when i joined with artemis and was trying to do research on the world.

Ok, so if we're going to do another break-away where everyone is off on their own again we'll need to figure out how to work that in considering Anise's current priority is getting the rabbit mask into Artemis' hands and Anise is a social creature and thus enjoys the company of people.

EDIT: And she definitely wants to acquire the Red Lantern at some point!

EDIT: I really really toyed with the idea of jumping into the fire lantern first, but I want to see the Lady of the Pond free more than a Dragonfire infused Anise.

I'm kinda glad that Tyaelaem's mask is likely to be put to good use. I was considering holding onto it for Anise to switch between the hawk and the rabbit, but it fits her character to give a form of protection to someone that needs it and it fulfills her goal somewhat. :D I love how this is going.
