@Aisling "Formally, I have to. But the door isn't locked. Theoretically, I can just leave," Ioan answered.

AWOL type. Yes, people have check themselves out back home but the hospital makes a note of that and will not be responsible of their care if they leave early. Few who are dying leave to be at home when they die, few others are mentally unstable and not diagnosed. Others hate hospitals so much that they just leave. You however, are quite capable to make such a decision.

@Aisling "And all the other people you've listed aren't?" Ioan asked. "You'd better not let Vlad hear this."

I am sure that he would not be happy with me. But what I consider stupid, mentally unstable, and such may not be his. Even I have made some stupid irrational stunts. Sometimes I wonder if I was mentally stable when I did a few things. Not that I have been hospitalized but I have not listened to the doctors orders then regretted it.

@Aisling "'Mentally unstable' usually is something like 'very, very moody', 'getting angry because of nothing' and such, or, in other words, it's what Vlad is..." Ioan said. "But still, he can make reasonable decisions. He can mostly make them, even when he's angry or depressed..."

"It's not always stupid to not listen to a doctor's order," the father said. "Especially not when you've collected enough information about whatever disease you have and then see that your doctor's order might not be all that good. Actually, they are recommendations. Not orders. We can't force you to obey, and we aren't perfect. Sometimes, we do make mistakes as well. That's why you should always get informed about the conditions you have. - If a patient doesn't want to listen to my orders, I'll teach him the negative consequences his behavior might have. If he still doesn't want to obey, I'll respect his decision."

That is not how I see mentally unstable. Being mentally unstable is allowing your feelings, emotions, pain, depression and such get in the way of your decision making. Even anger and jealousy can make you blind to what you should and shouldn't do. Vlad is a good ruler. He doesn't let his pain, depression, anger or anything get in the way of ruling properly so I don't consider him mentally unstable.

I have ran at a guy with a knife because he dumped me for a prettier girl. If he didn't move out of the way, I might have killed him. Out of petty jealously. That I would call mentally unstable.
Once I had a very bad cold and horrid cough but when I went to the doctor I was told that I was going to go skiing, he said that I would end up with pneumonia. I ended up with bronchial pneumonia and water in my lungs. He just gave me a prescription then told me to find another doctor. I found another one who would just give me a prescription without seeing me. A girlfriend told me about this doctor and thought he was good enough for me. She died because of his not seeing her. I was so very stupid and wanted to save a little money and time by going to him. I ended up getting addicted to the prescription. It was horrid going off cold turkey and I basically went berserk. College called Sean who took me home with him.
When I was finally well, Sean sat me down and gave me a talking to about taking care of myself and watching out who I was hanging out with. I was so completely mentally unstable for a while. About a year I'd guess. I hate talking about that period of time.

@Aisling "Psychiatrists call this 'psychologically disabled'. If it happens a lot, at least," Dracula explained. "'Mentally unstable' really is similar to moody, just much more severe... being mentally unstable often, but not always, causes psychological disabilities, like it does in my case. With me, it doesn't interfere with my job, but it does interfere with social interaction a lot."

No wonder why I never tried to be a nurse or doctor...... I really messed up my first year of college and had to take it all over again. I was not at all prepared to be in college. I never had the socialization skills since I lived and studied on my own. Never had a true friend and the ones I made in college are not the best friend type....I didn't do well in college either. I kinda wonder if I am qualified to raise Fiona now that I am actually think about it.

@Aisling "Your psychological disability seems to be gone, while mine isn't. That means if I can raise children, you can do so as well," Dracula said.

How can one tell? I still have a lot of problems with thinking things out. I am not the most logical person around and tend to have mishaps as well..... Like when you found me laying in the street........ I still don't know what happened then.

@Aisling "Because you don't show any symptoms of psychological disability. There are tons of people who have problems with that. Even the greatest strategists have them from time to time," Dracula said. "Being psychologically disabled is more... it makes you truly suffer most of the time."

Mystique thought carefully before she spoke. More like you can't enjoy anything at all?

@Aisling "No..." Dracula answered. "I can still enjoy the time I have with my family, for example, or reading a good book. - It's a bit hard to explain... it does make you suffer most of the time, yes, but you can still enjoy things."

I think that I will stick with photography. At least I know what I am doing there. I might come to you for help with Fiona.

Thank you Count Dracula. I appreciate that. Fiona will need a good father figure in her life. You and loan are the ones I'd choose. Vladislaus, would you be her grandfather figure?

@Aisling "It's nonsense that children need 'mother' and 'father figures'. As long as they've got someone who cares for them, they'll be fine," Dracula said.
"Sure, although I agree with Vladi," the father answered.

Please for my sake. I just need to know that someone will step up and help me when I need it most. I am a bit unsure about this. And soon I'll be working. I'll be gone sometimes for a few days at a time depending where I am sent. Being part of the paparazzi may be dangerous......

Fine then. Sometimes we will have to agree to disagree on some things. You think your way and I'll think my way. Both of us will win in our own way. Mystique smiled at Count Dracula's response. She was not going to push the subject any further.
