I had this idea for a character, but I'm gonna ask a few things before posting. I was thinking about a character who's more or less a vampire - the usual need for blood, enhanced senses, greater strength, innate magical abilities... No sparkling. Now, this kind of vampire would not immediately vanish in to dust from sunlight - instead he would lose most of his powers and be in other ways greatly weakened in direct sunlight. Now the fellow would not quite be an antagonist, but not quite 'one of the group' either. I was kinda thinking that the fellow would be leading a relatively well known - and rightfully feared - mercenary company.

That'd be fine, just give him a few more weaknesses
For instance, I happen to carry holy water, maybe that can fuck up your shit and what not.
Or holy magic does the same
Other than a few balance issues, sure, why not.

Well holy magic would totally wreck my shit as would holy water. Holy objects on the other hand - like symbols and all that - would only be a minor nuisance, but blessed weapons would still hurt a lot.
