"W-Woaahhh!" Kili shouted out loud, all the jumping and dangling off the branches that the Wargs were doing had actually begun to pull the trees up by their roots, and soon (one by one), the trees all collapsed until Gandalf and all the dwarves were huddled in one of the trees, which had fallen vertically and dangled off the edge of the cliff.

Ori screamed as he too lost his grip, and as Dori lunged to try and rescue him he fell too, if it hadn't been for Gandalf sticking out his staff for Dori to grab both the dwarves would have fallen to their deaths. Dori now had a feeble grip on the wizard's staff while Ori clung to his ankle, whimpering.

It was then that Azog himself appeared with two more Orcs at either side of him, and Thorin had to stare at the Pale Orc in utter disbelief.
"Azog..." he breathed, unable to say anything else.
"Do you smell that?" Azog sneered as he sniffed the air. "The scent of fear." he looked up at the dwarven prince with malice in his eyes. "I remember your father reeked of it, Thorin son of Thrain."

Bane finished his last kill and moved next to Thorin, his eyes glowing yellow. "You want them...you have to kill me first..." Serena moved Throin's other side and nodded. "Same here..." Bilbo watched as the three stood there, looking worried. Gandalf was looking around trying to hold the dwarfs up as a moth landed on his hand and he smiled and brought it closer to him.

Serena pulled her blade free and said "Thorin...its your word...we move when you give the word"

It took Thorin several moments to find his voice again, glancing from Serena to Bane before he nodded. "Azog is mine, I need to finish this. You two deal with the others." he murmured, lifting up Orcrist and grabbing a loose branch in his other hand to use as a shield. His mind made up, he ran with Orcrist up above his head straight towards Azog.

The Pale Orc grinned widely, the dwarf had done exactly what he had hoped, and nudged his warg into a leap towards the dwarf. He swung his mace and managed to hit Thorin, knocking him backwards. The warg landed and turned, prowling ominously back towards him again, and grabbed the dwarf in its jaws. There was a sickening crunching sound, and Thorin cried out in pain.

Bane and Serena jumped into action, both taking the other orcs into their own fights to help give Thorin space and time. But when they heard the cry they both turned and Serena "Thorin..." Bilbo started to climb down the tree, pulling his blade from is side. Gandalf turned to see him, his eyes wide.

Thorin shouted out again as the Warg threw him through the air and he landed heavily on his back.
"Bring me his head." Azog ordered another orc, jerking his chin towards Thorin, whose fingers desperately tried to grab at Orcrist as he saw the orc advancing towards him, though the blade was just out of the dwarf's reach.

Bilbo ran out and stood in front of Throin, glaring at the orcs. "Don't you dare touch him! You will have to go threw me if you want him!" Bane moved took the head off another Orc, watching Bilbo. "Well...that's something I didn't think I would see..." Serena ran forward and moved to stand by Bilbo. "Same here, Azog...you have to go thru us first!"

Thorin craned his head up, just in time to see Bilbo jump in to defend him, before he lost consciousness.

Azog snarled furiously. "Kill them!" he ordered as the warg riders advanced towards the group of three, the others going for Bane and Serena while Azog went straight for Bilbo.

"Mr Gandalf!!" Nori screamed as he finally lost his grip on the staff, and screamed out loud as he and Ori fell. However, their screams were soon replaced by yells of surprise as they had been caught on the back of a great eagle, which soared up into the air once they were safely on its back. More eagles swooped down out of the sky, knocking the burning trees down on top of the wargs, and picking them up and throwing them into the flames; while others picked up the other dwarves in the trees in their talons, and took them to safety.

Serena yelled as she moved to defend Bilbo but then Bane came out of no where and threw a Orc off of them. "We have to go now!" Serena nodded and bane ran for Thorin and picked him up, Serena grabbing Bilbo. They ran for the cliffs and jumped, eagles catching them

"Thorin!!" shouted Fili from the back of one of the eagles as he looked at his unconscious uncle. The eagles flew them across until they reached the Carrock, near the skinchanger Beorn's house, and would take them no further so they set them down gently and bid them farewell.
"Thorin!" the twins were the first to begin running towards the dwarf, who had still not woken.

Bane laid Thorin down and said "his barely breathing...Serena" Serena ran over to him, pulling Thorin into her lap and looking at Gandalf. He nodded and came over and took Thorins hand and both of them started muttering softly. Bilbo looked at Bane and he said "she is healing while Handalf calls him back...hopefully we are not too late"

Kili and Fili stood at Bane's side as they watched with baited breath, hoping their uncle would be alright.

Almost everyone let out an audible sigh of relief when Thorin took in a huge shuddering breath and his eyes flew open. "The halfling..." he choked out blearily as he came to and tried to sit up, looking around for Bilbo. "...where is the halfling?"

Serena sighed, panting as the magic she used wasn't something she was used to using. She leaned forward as Bilbo walked over and said "Thorin...I'm here..."

The dwarf prince managed to get shakily to his feet with Gandalf's help as he looked at Bilbo. "You! What were you thinking, you nearly got yourself killed!" he began as if he were scolding the hobbit angrily, "Did I not say that you didn't belong here, that you'd never be one of us?!"
"Thorin-" Fili started to protest, thinking Thorin was being very unfair to the hobbit, though he stopped short and smiled slightly as suddenly his uncle's tone changed.
"I've never been so glad to be wrong, in all my life!" Thorin declared, with what was probably the first genuine smile he had given the hobbit since Bilbo had joined the company, embracing the hobbit in a grateful hug.

Bane smiled and said "that was worth the wait..." Serena got up slowly, smiling weakly as she looked at the others. "Is everyone alright?" Bane nodded as she walked over and looked at his shoulder. "I'll thinks it's just dislocated...I will need a hand to push it back in place..."

"Here." Kili offered, beaming brightly up at Bane, he had grown quite fond of him in the short time they'd known the two and seemed more than happy to volunteer himself. "I'll help!"

Serena smiled and guided Kili where to stand and hold to Bane then she said "now Kili, his in a lot of pain and the shock may make him black out. Be ready to catch him if the need comes" after he nodded and then she said "alright Bane...one...two..." Then quickly pulled the shoulder back and they all heard a sick crack and Bane went stiff. His eyes glazed over and his legs buckled under him. Serena cursed and tried to help catch him.

Even Kili, who was normally light-hearted and rarely cursed or anything of the sort, barked a sharp curse in Khuzdul as he frantically looped his arms around underneath Bane's, grunting with the effort as the man went deadweight in his grip. "Umpfh! I...got him..." he managed, gently and slowly lowering Bane down to lay him on the ground as there was no way he could keep holding him up.

Thorin had by now left Bilbo to come and check up on Bane as well, just as concerned. "Will he be alright?" he asked Serena.

Serena nodded and said "bane was fighting not to lose his temper in there the whole time...and with his shoulder like that for so long I'm not surprised that his mind lost it...he will come around in a few minutes so don't worry" Bilbo walked over and said "Serena are you alright? You look pale" Serena smiled weakly and said "I will be fine...just used too much energy in a short time is all..." She looked at Thorin and said "we meant what we said before...we will be with you all the way for your mission...no one else will lose their home if we can do anything to stop it"

Thorin nodded his head gratefully. He couldn't really express how thankful he was for their help, even if he hadn't shown it well enough before. They had proved that they were worth trusting now, and he would not doubt them again easily. "Thank you. For everything."

Just then, a few of the other dwarves ducked as a smaller bird swooped over their heads, flying towards the Lonely Mountain in the distance.
"Look there!" cried Gloin as he pointed to the bird. "The ravens of Erebor are returning to the Mountain!"

Serena looked at Thorin and asked "what does that mean?" Bane moaned and opened his eyes, rubbing his head and sat up with help from Serena. Bilbonwatched the bird fly away, standing by Gandalf.
