Im getting a big dark souls vibe, im guessing that was at least part of your inspiration. But weather it was or it wasn't its got me excited. I intend to maybe play a fisherman, sheltered his entire life on a small idyllic stream he has never really faced hard tragedy. So when the creeping darkness came he dismissed it as an imagining of eccentric wizards, refusing to see supernatural dangers as anything but physical threats. He grates on everyone he meets with his unbearable optimism and his habit of talking to supernatural beasts as if they were mere men.

I have admittedly never played any of the games affiliated with Dark Souls, so while that is not my intent, it might be a good place for one to imagine as reference. I do know it is a very grim world, and pretty steeped in its mythos. Short of that, @HopelesRomantis, I believe your idea is much in line with the concept I intend to go with; "optimists and improbable heroes against a far superior threat".

The reason i assumed dark souls was also because it has a very present theme of the creeping dark and the eventual breaking of peoples spirits, it could be a useful resource.

Just wondering will you be playing a character as a DM? I just seems to be a surprisingly common thing on here and it takes me a lot of getting used to since its pretty rare in the tabletop stuff i do.

@HopelesRomantis, the short answer is but yes and no. While it is indeed different than tabletop, it relies mostly upon how things are to work out. As of now this is mostly a thought and an experiment to test if there is sufficient interest.

The plot in its most crude of forms is best summed up as so; a group of unqualified men and women take it upon themselves to arm against an opponent they do not know. By traveling further North, they have no one but their own developing skills and those of their companions to survive and adapt, seeking out the source of corruption and start the plot proper. From there, the actual effort to standfast will become the objective.

In the meanwhile, not everyone will be quite as they were, which all depends on action or inaction.

They all could very much fail, or worse yet, turn to the looming shadow. But, I hope this generalization is sufficient, @Alina13.

You are more than welcome to draft your own then only make edits where you see fit when the template does come, as again, this entire concept is still just in the interest check phase. If the information thus far cannot garner sufficient traction, sadly it would be a fruitless endeavor. Not to doubt anyone here, but I have been among the Guild enough to know that nothing is "final" until you have people posting character sheets in the actual topic, and even then disappearances arise.

Should this concept fail, another one might be in order at a later date or I might attempt a different channel of plot and story.
