"Nah! Let's go!" Kalram started heading out of the inn when Anya caught him.

"Kalram, where are you going?" she asked.

"I'm going to explore the mountains with Mr. Ryul!" he replied.

"Did you ask him first?" Anya asked, knowing full well that Kalram often coerced people into doing things.

"Yup!" he answered.

"Alright, well bring a jacket, and make sure not to wander too far," Anya said, then turning to Ryul, "Thank you for taking Kalram, I hope it's not too much of a bother."

After Anya made sure Kalram was ready, she let them go. Kalram rushed ahead towards the mountains, leading Ryul to a path hewn out of the rock by the dwarves. It was relatively safe.

They traveled for a short while until they reached one of the lower peaks. Kalram looked out into the horizon. "I was born in Elsil," he said with some seriousness, "but I mostly only remember Soren. I wanna see what's out there, but Mom and Dad say that there's nothing but sorrow and pain."

Ryul shrugged. "It's not that special. I grew up there and trust me, you won't miss a thing if you don't go there." He said, not wanting to tell the kid that his place of birth had been reduced to ruins and rubble after the last attack it had endured.

Ryul looked at the boy and nodded."sure, as long as your parents are good with it, I don't see why not." He answered, figuring that it might be nice to have company. He knew that there had been some females from Soren who had asked the same, but one could still come along. And if they preferred to travel with just two, they would have to wait.

Ryul chuckled, following the boy in a calm, relaxed pace. He was in no hurry, and he'd be fine with going wherever Kalram wanted to go to. That was pretty much the only reason he had agreed to come along, to get relaxed and do the kid a favour.
