"Sounds like a good idea," replied Shiranui, "Electrike, use Odor Sleuth to get Spoink's scent!" He sent his Electrike out and the electric canine soon identified Spoink's scent. "Follow the trail!" Like an Officer Jenny's Growlithe, Electrike started running towards Jagged Pass.

The Spoink followed the heroes. While in the Pass, Liam found a normal colored Spoink pearl on the floor. The discolored Spoink was excited for a second before it realized it was the wrong pearl. A Weavile dashed by and swiped the pearl our of Liam's hand and dashed off.
"Jiriaya! after the Weavile!" Liam ordered.

Liam ran to the electricity and found a cage filled with pearl-less Spoink. Liam tried to approach the cage and Jiriya ran by and used Protect to save Liam from an incoming Hyper Beam. Liam looked over and saw a muscled man in a leather jacket and an eye patch over his left eye stood with a Tyraniatr.
"You're not setting those Spoink free." The poacher said. "I'm going to make a fortune off all of these pearls when I ship them to overseas!"
"You think we will let you get away this?" Liam inquired. The Poacher sent out a Scizor and two Weavile one of which is the one who ran by the heroes earlier.

Shiranui arrived as well, glad to know the caged Spoink were still able to bounce. "Niwatori, Incinerate; Gimansha, Play Rough with the Tyranitar! Mega Ring activate!" He sent his Combusken and Mawile out to help deal with the threat, mega evolving Mawile in the process. Niwatori unleashed a wide-ranging wall of fire at Scizor and the Weavile and Gimansha charged at Tyranitar, her Huge Power ability making her attack twice as strong.

Niwatori and Gimansha had managed to knock Scizor, both Weavile, and Tyranitar out with one hit. Shiranui pulled out a smartphone he had purchased in Kalos and made a call to the Lavaridge Town police. "Officer Jenny, this is Champion Tsukiko," he stated, "We have a poacher up at Jagged Pass capturing Spoink to sell their pearls on the black market!" He saw Jiraiya freeing the Spoink and Sherlock retrieving the pearls.

The Poacher began to try and make a run for it. Jiriya stopped him by doing a leaping kick and landing on him.

"Nice job, Jiraiya," Shiranui praised, waiting barely patiently for the local Officer Jenny to arrive. Electrike was growling at the poacher, ready to paralyse him if he tried to escape.

Jenny came riding up on her cycle while police followed with the Padiwagon. The poacher was hauled into the padiwagon. Jenny saluted the heroes for their work. Sherlock, Jiriya, and Liam were distributing the pearls back to the Spoink, finding that the discolored one was not stored with the others. The odd colored Spoink began to look depressed. Sherlock locked onto the poacher as he was being driven away and found where he had stashed it. Sherlock opened the back of the poacher's vehicle and used Psychic to bring the black pearl out and gently set it on the Spoink's head. Spoink became much happier.

Lance and Ludicolo smiled at the good work that shiranui and Liam did, looking at Ludicolo Lance had a fire in his eyes, Ludicolo as well. They both have been training hard and becoming really strong. Their hard work will pay off in the lavaridge gym.

"Well, let's go to the gym." Liam said, recalling his Pokémon. He turned to tell the Spoink 'bye', but it had ran off. Unknown to the heroes, Spoink was on the other side of a bush watching them while being quiet. Spoink was going to follow them at a pace that would keep it from being detected.
