Player Name: Lobiok

Character Name: Lucius von Schraltmass

Character Age: 31

Character Gender:Male

Appearance:

Profession: Executive Lead of R&D in a big corporation focused on manufacturing called Armament, Technology and Optimised Shielding (ATOS). Assistant navigator and science support worker.

Nationality: Former inhabitant of the ruins of the United States of Europe, moved to the Nagasaki Conglomerate in his early teens.

Strengths: He is an extremely talented mathematician. It is said that he once beat a computer in a contest for quick calculations.
- He is physically fit and has good stamina.
- Due to his absence of mental health, normal codes of morality do not apply to him and he sees things like they are and not through any social “lenses”, codices or norms.

Weaknesses: - For unknown reasons, he showed increasingly insane tendencies throughout his teen years, which only increased during his early adult years. While also being exceptionally gifted in the art of mathematics, he started losing the ability to normally communicate with people, the closer he got to his thirties. In increased frequency, he stopped using everyday language terms and started to speak oddly lyrical, describing things in almost poetic fashion or expressing himself in riddles. This is because of the voices in his head, who seem to hold him captive in a never-ending, incoherent tirade inside his mind. A prisoner to his own thoughts, his consciousness is best described as a shallow lake during twilight, where billows of fog cloud your sight and the only thing that seems to guide you is a the faint, almost surreal light of the mean which pierces through the thin clouds and reflects of the surface of the water, giving you no real idea of depth or width, therefore making the place feel endless. Because of this, he behaves quite weirdly at times and his social interaction skills are questionable at best.
- He has very specific preferences in terms of food and sanitary standards, making him a rather “difficult” presence in any kind of gregarious / sociable setting. He would rather starve than having to eat something he dislikes.
- He absolutely hates the colour green, anything with green in the name or anything that reminds him of spring, summer or Ireland. If confronted with the colour, he is prone to random, irrational outburst of anger, which may be quite destructive to both him and his surroundings.
- He sleeps more and longer than normal, mainly because he can’t find a lot of rest at night due to the voices in his head, but also because every waking hour drains his substance more than it would with ordinary people.

Personal Effects: His nature being rather inexplicable, so are the belongings he brought. Among them are, of course his seven red robes, which all look the same and are the only things he wears, ever. Also among his belongings are a set of whirligigs which seem to exert some kind of unnatural glow at night, most likely due to radioactive isotopes. His most valuable belonging must be his notebook, in which writes anything and everything he can extract from his demented brain during a brief moment of clear thought. Another thing he likes to use a lot is his mathematics trainer, which is more of a mean of diversion for him rather than a practice item.

Bio: Lucius was born to the last wealthy noble line of the von Schraltmass Dynasty. He grew up in the family castle just outside a small village in the area of Siebenbürgen, Romania. His parents were caring, but never seemed to emotionally connect to the young Lucius. This is why he spent most of his time with his best friend Aljosha, a boy from the local village. The area they lived in had not been hit by a nuclear weapon and nature had recovered to a degree, allowing for a half-way normal life, although still in the shadow of radiation. It became quite clear that Lucius was exceptionally gifted once he reached the age of six and went to the local school, which was set up by the resilient inhabitants of the village, still holding on to the values of old. Within the first weeks, the teachers noticed that Lucius was nothing like the other children (mainly because quite a few of them had additional extremities). He excelled at every subject in school, but especially baffled the adults when it came to mathematics. Proving able to outperform every grown-up in his local area, including his parents, they made a difficult decision. In order to grant their son a better future, they sacrificed all their remaining wealth to allow him to travel (be smuggled) to the Nagasaki Conglomerate. The only wish Lucius had at that point was that his friend, Aljosha, may accompany him on his journey.

They arrived in Japan without any major complications and soon started to fit in (while only being ten years old). While Lucius extended his knowledge of mathematics, Aljosha began to discover entrepreneurial talents deep inside himself and started to sell delicious lemonade, Romanian style. It was until close to his eleventh birthday that Lucius lived a happy life, undisturbed by any of his future burdens. Shortly after having reached his eleventh year on earth, he started to hear things in his sleep, ever so faintly, but clearly from sources that were not part of his dreams. Being in the nature of a child, he shrugged it off and did not waste any further thoughts about it. But the sounds kept returning and grew clearer and clearer every night, until he could finally hear them during his dreams. To his dread, what he heard when he found himself in a state of being half awake, half asleep were voices, but not the his own nor ones he had ever heard. These voices did not belong to any of his friends nor to a normal human being at that. Lucius found that the tales they told could not be understood and did not have any content compared to an ordinary tale. It was more the way the voices told the specific tales that made him see images, unclear like they were hidden behind a veil or a cloud, but still real and potentially graspable, could he only get to peek behind the mysterious curtain that hid them so well. One silhouette of an image kept returning more strongly during these unstructured talks in his head, it was the image of fire raining from the heavens. The more often he listened to the voices tale of it this image, the more clear it became. On balls of fire coming from the sky, unworldly creatures came riding towards earth on horses of made of steel, set out to punish all of humanity for their sins. Shortly after this image had manifested in his dreams, the devastators attacked for the first time.

In the aftermath of the attack, every single possible helping hand was needed to prepare, should they ever return. Lucius found it quite easy to fit in and his talent was discovered rather quickly by a league of professors who took him in as their protégé. The years passed on Lucius condition kept getting worse, the voices becoming stronger with the day. After his twentieth birthday, he began to hear them very faintly during the day. Increasingly afraid of what could happen to him, the now young adult with a formidable education went out to seek an employment, hoping to find distraction from his fears by burying himself in work. He found said employment in a place even he had never expected. His childhood friend Aljosha had come quite a far way, too and his lemonade stand now turned out to be a multinational war-tech corporation, focusing all efforts on creating optimised armaments and shielding (ATOS) to prepare mankind for the worst-case scenario. His old friend quickly recognized him and gave him a lead-management position in the research and development department of his corporation, knowing of his exceptional skills in mathematics.

While his condition remained stable during his first year of work, it started to steadily deteriorate during the later years, making him less and less capable of focusing on the world around him, making the interactions with him rather peculiar. His condition reached the worst point shortly after his thirty-first birthday, exactly twenty years after his first encounters with the voices. One day, while he was out on his porch, he tried to focus on anything around him, attempting regain his grasp on reality, but like a person stuck in quicksand, every attempt of freeing himself led to him sinking deeper into the sands of insanity. Arriving at the very bottom of the sand pit, he heard an oh-so familiar voice, more clearly than the rest of the wailing chorus in his head. The same images started to burn in Front of his inner eye and he began to understand. Just for a short moment everything was clear, it was like the fog lifted itself and he could see clearly what laid ahead. But it all came smashing down again very soon, with brutal force of the fires of hell the curtain closed itself and the last thing he saw were the riders from his dreams, charging towards him once again on their horses of steel.

The attacks came in force and Lucius would have been lost, remaining a prisoner to his own mind, would his friend not have suggested him for Project Genesis. Being only the shadow of the man he was, Lucius tries to piece together the shards of his mind, seeking for any sense in it all and most importantly, for a way to tame the never-ending cacophony of voices in his head.
