Here is another, less speculative site on classes and titles.

Yes I've read those but they don't describe what i describe in my thread, and what I describe in my thread isn't as much speculation as you think, I pull alot of information from the wiki, but the wiki IS EDITED BY LITERALLY EVERYONE AND ANYONE WHO WANTS TO EDIT IT.

Yes, but with citation.

And that aside: Despite what both sites say, there's a lot about the classes and aspects we simply don't know anything about - including the canon ones. That's why I think the wiki is more valuable. At least there, they admit that they are working with limited information and knowledge. On the page you linked to in Gigapause, they simply give a flat statement which is presumed to be true - and, in several instances, is directly contradicted in canon.

Either site is helpful to pull ideas from for inspiration or to use as guidelines, but we shouldn't be too strict about mechanics we know almost literally nothing definite about.

Give me some examples about how the thread contradicts canon.
Because I wrote that thread.

Well, most of it really. The problem is that the writer wrote in absolute statements.

Really, it seems like the writer took the most prominent displays of behavior between characters of certain classes and generalized those behaviors as universal across all instances. They don't leave any wiggle room, and so there's contradictions. Class and aspect do not define the character, they are /assigned/ to the character based on fit.

I am the writer.
But yeah I see a few of the contradictions, it's not like I was trying to be definite. I will likely be editing the thread in the future, thanks for bringing those to my attention.

Also. Rose doesn't have an affinity for luck, she has an affinity for knowledge and "shedding the light" on a subject, which is still associated with light.

I will admit I'm fairly wrong on the princes in some parts.

Aradia did alot to take care of her team behind the scenes, and is shown in pre death to be very caring of her friends, however remember Aradia lost emotions when she died. When she was resurected in godtier she becomes mosttly normal again and does take care of the dream bubbles.

The description says that Sylphs eventually become fed up with being alone and become social butterflies by the time they hit godtier (if they ever do.) WHich can be interpreted as a pun on the Maryam's association with moths.

It is said in canon that pages will equip their team mates, that's what their godtier title does, Horuss not doing so is just failing to realize his title.

After relooking at that thread I'm gonna comb through and remove the more speculative bits and keep what is common across all characters of that class in canon, thanks for making me see where I'm wrong Terminal xD

Also...
Can we all discuss or not? Where is everyone?

Sorry lol been busy, and my thoughts on classes and how they were have always been my own and I rarely discuss them. Especially online, given how easily things can sound angry/attacking when they were not meant to be given the difficulty in communicating tone.

I will say that if you want a thief to be a somewhat mean/selfish person. It definitely would not be this character of mine. Now I could MAKE a mean/selfish character if that is absolutely how you'd like a thief to be played, or change her hero title to something that would more match how it works for you. You are the GM and I have no problems bowing my head to how you'd like things to work as long as they end up not offending me morally.

Well, with canon references, thieves are very mean-spirited. However Rogues are basically the same thing but are typically nice people...so...

I do enjoy how you're a space player and she has a fashion/clothing niche. Very canon xP

I can not help but disagree with your logic, I will not fight you if you'd rather Lily be a Rouge rather than a Theif, but I feel I should at least explain my logic now lol.

I was under the impression that surface aspects of ones personality would not be quite as reflective of the class. I believed that the more deeper, core aspects of a characters personality would reflect in the class. For example Jade and Damara are both witches, but their surface personalities are quite different. Heck Damara sounds like she was NEVER like jade, before their game she was meek and soft spoken and later she is an aggressive, foul mouthed, mean spirited type. Jade is not either of those. Equius and John are both Heirs, but are very different in terms of surface disposition.

I feel like the class more represent internal motivations, and this kind of comes from what I understand to be the difference between a thief and a rogue. Thieves steal for themselves (We never see thieves share what they have stolen) and rogues give what they steal to others (Roxy trying to summon something for someone else ). Not saying they both couldn't do the reverse, the game has proven itself to be very flexible in the abilities of the god tier, but it's probable not their natural inclination.

Under this logic thieves will have a very 'me' focus, in a good person this will be shone as confidence in ones self and having a strong sense of who they are, in the worst this would make someone very selfish (vriska). Lily does not often share what she has crafted, she keeps most of her work to her self, showing stuff only to close friends if it is something she thinks they would be interested in. In this way she exhibits a very 'i do things for myself' core personality trait in an un dick-ish way. That is why I felt thief fits her.

As for the clothing/fassion thing....Yeaaaaaaaaaaah...I couldn't help it. I wanted to use Lily, and she is just a crafter who dables in design, so its a fun refference to the space players xD

Creations is associated with space so it's kinda cool she's crafting.

And honestly I can't disagree with your logic, I'm working on pinpointing the classes better.
