The only movement she could muster at first was in her hands. It took nearly all of her energy to simply twitch her fingers. While her body remained paralyzed, her brain was slowly becoming more active and alert. Eyes closed, she almost didn't want to open them; she wanted to continue sleeping and maybe when she woke up again, the searing pain emitting from the side of her head would have stopped by then. Another twitch of the hand. Her nails scratched the surface of the floor as she curled her fingers inward, another test to check her current capabilities of movement, and finally she opened her eyes.

Half of the world around her was in focus. With a grunt of effort she dragged her arm closer to her face to rearrange the thick rimmed dark glasses she wore over her crystal blue eyes. Everything was more or less clear, a streak of dirt smudging a part of her vision, but the effort to clean her glasses escaped her as she was more concerned about where was and how she had gotten there. The more she tried to think about it, the foggier her mind became. There was a nagging feeling in the back of her mind that she was missing something, but for the life of her she couldn't remember what.

It was a struggle to sit up, but she eventually managed. There were other people like herself there scattered along the floor. Some were bleeding, others were not. Close to her was a pool of blood. She could see where the person had fallen and clipped their head on the edge of the table, a flap of dry skin still stuck to the corner where they'd hit. The woman gasped, covering her mouth at the sight. She couldn't tell which of them were alive and which of them were not; she felt sick.

As she scanned more of her surroundings, she noticed an abundance of technology that she had never seen before. Red warning lights were flashing with the distorted sound of an alarm that had been going off for too long and was beginning to run out of power. There were metal doors on either side of the room though where they led, she had no idea.

The alarm not doing anything to help her headache, she lifted a hand to the spot on her head that was hurting. Her blonde pony-tail had loosened and tangled, creating a knot that she would need to spend time to brush out later. Pulling her hand away from the spot, she noticed her fingers were slick with blood of her own. Face turning pale as she started to whimper, none of this made any sense. She looked around the room helplessly as she started calling out for help to anyone that might have been around.

A loud groan came from the other side of the room. A male, sprawled out on the floor, began to start twitching. He turned to where his back was against the floor, then spat out blood all over himself. The groan almost turned feral, as the man began moving his limbs. His neck started to roll repeatedly against the floor as he struggled to get up, as if he had never moved before. The man sat up, revealing dry pale skin and milky white eyes. He appeared to be decayed, though he looked directly at the girl who had just awoke. His groans turned into snarls, as he fell against the floor on his chest this time. He clawed and scraped his way forward, the only desire in him to feast on flesh.

The door next to the girl opened, where a man stood in the shadows of the hallway. He was wearing some kind of suit, it appeared to be a spacesuit, though was with similar designs to it as the very room they were in. It was some kind of metallic armor, covering the man from shoulder to toe. Over his head was a clear glass helmet, not circular but more oval. The man's face could be seen within, though his attention shot past the girl and toward the threat crawling toward her. He raised his right arm at the undead being, as a laser sprout out from the wrist of the armor. He fired a solid gold beam directly at the being's head, causing it to explode. Blood and brain matter pieces flew around everywhere, further mucking up the already dirty girl.

"We have to go, they'll be back," the man said. Knowing the just awakened survivor couldn't do much quick moving on her own, he moved in and grabbed her. He lifted her up to a standing position, wrapping an arm around her and helping her to move toward the door he had come from.

Without any explanations, he guided her out of the death stained room and into a dark hallway. Lights flickered on and off as they moved, sometimes leaving them in total darkness for a few moments. They went through another set of metal doors, but the armored man stopped once he heard something. Deep in the walls, he could hear a shrieking scream, something that seemed to be not so far off.

"Shit, they're coming!" he muttered. Changing direction, he led the girl into another hallway. "I know you're scared, I was to. Just trust me when I say, we have to move."

The screaming seemed to echo throughout the halls. Sometimes they appeared closer, other times more further away. Eventually he led the girl into a smaller room, one in complete darkness. He grabbed her and faced her, seeing her facial features for the first time. With a click of a button, the clear helmet opened up and was directed back into the suit at the shoulders. He stared into the blue of her eyes, putting his finger at his nose to tell her to stay silent. Footsteps could be heard just outside the door they had entered, more than one pair, and moving quickly the way they had come. They seemed to stop just outside, and whatever was on the other side of the doors, it gave out a bone chilling cry into the air. Then the steps continued, on and away until they could no longer be heard. The man exhaled and rested his eyes for the moment.

"Come on."

The next pair of metal doors had a screen on the wall beside it. The screen became three dimensional and seemed to calibrate together with the man's suit chest piece. An alien symbol on the breast plate matched with the screen, opening the doors and locking them behind them. The suit turned back off from color as the entire room they were in lit up on its own lighting supply.

"This is home."

The room was some kind of tech armory. Alien weapons, as well as various man made ones, were showcased upon shelves that reached to the ceiling. There were similar armors to the one the man was wearing in one section as well. The room was rather large, and was detailed like a library full of books would be. A few screens were at some corners, showing different places within the ship they were currently in. He set the girl on the table next to the screens.

One of the monitors showed the room that the girl had just awoken from. Another person had risen, though with a closer look, they appeared to be dead as well. Yet the dead man moved, crawling over to another lifeless body in the room and digging its teeth into their flesh. The man turned the monitor off as to not sicken the poor girl any more than necessary.

"You're lucky," he said. "I thought you were all dead."

The man started to take off some of the heavier pieces of the armor, putting them back on a shelve. Once he was down to just the exo suit, a skin tight underwear that was just as technical as the armor, colored in dark blue and purple, he went over to another corner of the room. There, he grabbed a canister that glowed a bright pale blue, it was just one of many. He handed it over to the girl, opening up the top for her.

"Drink it, it's what's kept us alive all this time anyway," he said, chugging one down himself. The liquid had no taste, but at the same time still somehow felt refreshing. "My name is Dallen. I know you probably can't remember yours right now, it took me awhile myself. I still can't remember my last name. I woke up, just like you did just now." He sat down against one of the shelves of alien weapons, appearing exhausted. He rested his head back against the shelf and looked back to the young woman. "I'm sure you have questions, so do I. I only woke up a day ago, so I don't know that much. I know there's something out there, and I know it will try to kill us if it finds us. Not what you saw." He coughed and cleared his throat. "Not that infected person. Something...worse."

He realized he was giving her a little to much to soon. She was probably in shock, though he also knew that their lives were in great danger. It was important for her to understand the way things were right now if she was going to make it out of this mess alive.

"On a brighter note, home is the armory," he said with a slight smirk. "I recommend getting whatever rest you need, then suiting up. We can't stay here forever. Any questions?"

Distracted by the opening door, she perked up when she saw someone enter. “Hello...?” she called out, desperate for some explanation from anyone that might give it to her. The person ignored her, a guttural sound emitting from his throat in response as he got down on all fours and began crawling in her direction, limbs sticking out like a spider. Whimpering, she tried to scoot back. Her hands slipped on the metal floor where the pool of blood formed near the dead body beside her.

A beam of light hitting the creature's head, she watched as it suddenly exploded. The sight horrified her as she stared on at the carcass and damage. Bits of whoever or whatever it had been went everywhere, some of it on her, and she suddenly felt sick. With nothing in her stomach, bile soon mixed with the blood on the floor as she heaved.

It was tone of urgency in the man's voice that had her struggling to stand, only succeeding when he offered his help in the form of a crutch. With many questions for him, she found herself unable to ask as he helped to usher her out of the room through the door the decaying creature had come through. The flickering light was starting to bother her and she closed her eyes trying to ease the discomfort the flashing caused. Jerked into a side room and forced to face the man, she couldn't see anything through the dark as her eyes struggled to adjust. But the sound of something outside in the hallway was hint enough to know that she needed to be quiet. A bloodcurdling scream resonated through the ship and she gasped while trying to cover her ears to block out the sound. Only when she heard the muffled sound of his voice did she drop her hands.

She wasn't sure where he'd taken her, but it was different than the rest of the ship and looked to be an important room. Pushing the glasses up her nose with a finger, she looked around at the different screens on the wall with fascination. Hearing him speak again, she turned to face him. “You mean I'm not?” she asked. Turning her attention back to surveying the room, she muttered mostly to herself, “I thought I was in hell.”

As he put away the armor he wore, she glanced back over at him with an arched brow as now he looked to be wearing some type of full-body spandex. It was very form-fitting.

Taking the liquid from him, she examined it. Nose furling in disgust, it didn't seem like a good idea to put something that glowed inside of her body. “What is it?” she asked, looking back up at him. He'd already downed a vial for himself. Though she was reluctant to do so without knowing what it was or what it did, she didn't figure she had much choice in the matter. “Cheers,” she said, raising it up in his direction before she threw her head back and downed it. The lack of flavor was disappointing as she'd expected for it to taste like a blue Popsicle.

Everything about her was shrouded in a fog, her name included. Like the name of a song on the tip of her tongue, it was there—she just couldn't pull it out yet. Without any way to introduce herself, she just gave a small nod. Becoming more alert when he mentioned that she had questions, her shoulders visibly sagged again when he mentioned he didn't know much himself. What he had to say was troubling and none of it made her feel any better. “You knew enough to drink the glowy stuff at least,” she said. It had been more than she knew.

Any questions she might have had for him, she didn't think he could answer. Where were they? Why were they there? What were those things? And what was coming after them? The only thing he could tell her was that they were in danger and needed to leave as fast as they possibly could. Not one to dawdle with such information, she found herself bypassing the resting period and going straight to the suiting up. It was better to leave now and rest later.

Dressed in her jeans and dirty white t-shirt from when she was taken, she found a skintight suit of her own that mirrored his to go beneath one of those armored outfits he'd been wearing. Grabbing it off the shelf, she glanced at him. “You mind?” she asked, motioning for him to turn around with her finger before she started to change. Off in the distance she could hear that chilling scream that made her blood run cold. Whatever that thing had been was still looking for them, she guessed. They needed to hurry. She wasted no time in putting the suit on and she quickly snatched some smaller pieces of armor from off the shelf. She didn't think she would be able to carry the weight of the larger pieces like he'd had on.

“Where are we going?” she wondered though at the end of the day she figured she would probably just follow him.

Dallen turned around and let the woman put on some armor. As soon as he had taken off the majority of his own, he had began putting back on a different suits armor. Just like hers, a lighter one that when on, it felt like it made your own movements better. She seemed to be ready quickly, which was a good thing, and also meant this could be the last time being back in the this armory.

"I guess we've had enough rest already," he said and gave a nod.

If this was to be the last time in this room, he knew he had to take everything they could while also packing light. Once his lighter metallic armor was on, he put a jetpack onto his back, loading it with ball shaped grenades and smaller lasers. While the armor they both wore had many weapons of its own, he also slung a shotgun and a rifle over each shoulder as the suit he was wearing made everything seem much lighter in carry weight.

Once the girl was finished putting on armor of her own, Dallen walked over to her and raised his left hand. A light blue image shot out and formed a three dimensional blueprint of a space vessel. It was a map of the ship they were on, with two small blinking yellow arrows in a room that displayed 'Armory' indicating the two of them. In the center was a large purple and white mass that almost pulsed like a heartbeat, indicating the main power source. Toward the closer end to them was the cockpit, and at the other end was a red flashing light that cut off half the ship.

"We're on a spaceship," he said. "From the look of things, we're crashed. I don't think we're floating in space, we're on land, or at the bottom of a sea. Regardless, there are pods just outside the cockpit that could maybe get us out of here. There still seems to be power, so that's where we go. Only problem, is we have to pass the main power control room to get there." He pointed at the center heart beat of the ship. "I've tried already. That's where that creature lives, its like its hive. I think it's drawn to the power, or the lights. Maybe we can kill it, maybe we can't? We have to try."

He loaded a few of the glow drinks into a leg compartment of his suit, then his helmet snapped on and his armor turned a steel blue color.

"Everything else, shoot in the head."

He highlighted the path that they were to take on the map, then turned it off and opened the door. He held his alien rifle up firmly against a shoulder as he went first, slowly moving from room to room, following the path that was set out. Each of their helmets both supported a mini hud within them, showing them their location and destination if necessary. A lot of the tech came naturally easy to use for Dallen, as he assumed most of it would with the new girl as well. Somehow, he just knew how things worked, as if they had already been programmed in his mind.

It wasn't long before they reached the ship's core, as everything along the way was quiet and still. The room had a single walkway they were on that went from one end to the other, surrounded by a massively empty looking space. Tech and lights created the walls, though everything was at a dim hue. Dallen slowly walked along the walkway, looking in awe at the alien computers and the energy they brought that could be seen in the helmet visor. Suddenly the lights turned a bright gold, showing the room in a magnificent brightness, as the colors just as soon faded away. A hologram of a woman appeared before the two, on the walkway. The hologram was also golden, and outlined a seemingly nude female. Her features couldn't be made as a lot of pulses and energy moved all around her.

"Human test subjects 001 and 007, it it recommended you turn back," the hologram beamed. "It is not safe to proceed."

"Why, what happened here?" Dallen asked. "Who are you?"

"This ship, vessel 4875 Taurus, in your language, has crash landed on planet 19686933 Durendail, in your language," It answered. "I am the AI aboard, known as Trinity. Is there anything else you would like to know?"

Dallen turned and gave the girl a raised eyebrow. "Looks like we might get some answers after all," he said. "Trinity, how did we get here? And what kind of danger are we talking about?"

"Human test subjects 001 and 007 were abducted from a planet 3544 Earth. You were both abducted by a species known as arguntenta, the species that originally operated this vessel." Another, yellow, hologram showed them an image of the aliens that once ran this ship. They were humanoid, though much taller and skinnier. They were all green or all grey, with big large round eyes attached to an oval shaped head. "The danger is something they accidentally created on this vessel, as they were experimenting with vast and dangerous chemicals, only found on various distant planets. They abducted many test subjects, all for various and different purposes. One main purpose, was to create an army. Some of the subjects were mindlessly used for slaves, while others were tested on to create a weapon. The testing has only proven to work in two subjects so far, as all other results are failures. One such failure has created an unkown virus, one that completely takes over the host and is only driven by hunger for flesh. A parasite virus, that has spread through the entire ship. This virus overcame the arguntenta species, and one by one everything died from it. This, along with the many other human test subjects that have been exposed to the virus, is your danger."

So it's just a dead version of an alien," Dallen told himself. "The two subjects that the testing worked with, who are they?"

"Why, you two, of course. Human test subjects 001 and 007. Both are immune to the virus, unless directly exposed via bodily fluid, or by a bite, which quickens the process. Subjects 001 and 007 have received 100% full capacity."

"What exactly does that mean?"

"You are better versions of humans. Enhanced organs and motions. You can breath in most all atmospheres, not only ones with oxygen as your lungs have been accustomed to. Your abilities have enhanced, though those will vary between the two of you, depending on how you use them. You were crafted to survive, to become a weapon for the arguntenta against their many enemies. You are perfect specimens, known as the Dunar."

"Come on Trinity, you're gonna make nameless over here blush," he joked.

"Any more questions?"

Dallen looked over to the girl, letting her have a turn at asking things if she wanted to.

Watching as he hooked several weapons onto his suit with quick ease, she was slower and more cautious with her movements. Hesitantly she reached out for some kind of alien gun of her own. For some reason though she'd never seen it before, she had a feeling when the time came she would know how to use it. When he started talking, she glanced over in his direction. The explanation sounded a little far fetched, but judging by the impossible that she'd already seen thus far, she was apt to go along with it. The 3D map pulled up to illuminate their path, she tried to touch the hologram before he turned it off. A look of disappointment and a pout appeared on her face.

Since he seemed to know what he was doing, she followed closely behind him through the dimly lit empty hallways. Holding out her hands, her fingers brushed the metal of the ship. To her surprise, it was cool—even with the emergency lights on. No heat emitted from it; she expected it to be at least a little warm.

Brought to a halt by the sudden appearance to another hologram, quickly lifted a hand to shield her eyes of the nude female. “Oh, jeez.” There were no details to the hologram, a smooth rendering with a humanoid shape, but it still felt inappropriate to look right at her. If she thought that Dallen had unloaded a lot of information on her that she couldn't comprehend, then she wasn't prepared for this expositional spouting hologram named Trinity.

Lowering her hands from shielding her eyes as she brought up more smaller holograms for them to look at, she watched. This time, she got to swat her hand through it, seeing the hologram distort to shape around her hand like a projector image. “Neat,” she mused.

Dallen seem to know what to ask it though the explanation that it gave sparked more questions than answers for her. What were the Dunar? Why did they need an army of people from another planet? Not that she was complaining about that last part. She was eager to see what kind of enhanced abilities she hadn't seen signs that anything was out of the ordinary about her. Even if she couldn't remember anything, she still had a sense of what normalcy was.

“I have a name,” she corrected before proceeding to joke, “It's Test Subject 001.” Hopefully sooner rather than later some bits and pieces about who she had been, mainly her name, would come to her.

Now that it was her turn to answer some questions, the young woman found herself freezing. Looking back and forth between Dallen and the golden hologram, she gave an embarrassed laugh as she asked, “Know a good place to eat around here? I'm starving.” The hologram flickered in response. Trinity's voice came out distorted and incomprehensible before the figure vanished all together. “I think I offended her,” she said.

A loud bang followed by sparks overhead falling from the ceiling caused her to shriek and shirk closer to Dallen for protection. Not too far behind them the loud ear-piercing screams made her blood run cold. Clamping her mouth shut, she looked at Dallen. Whatever the next step to the plan was, they needed to move fast.

"Actually, he is The One," Trinity corrected the woman, then asked again if there were anymore questions. Dallen gave off a nod as if to say, 'that's right'. Yet, before they could get anymore information out of the space hologram, it was gone. Just as quickly, the horrible screaming sounds came back and filled the area. Holes shot out sparks from all around as one by one, undead aliens started pouring into the massively round room. They moved like monkeys, using all four of their limbs to quickly crawl and climb into the open.

"Run!" Dallen yelled, charging up his laser rifle and moving behind her down the walkway. They had a great amount of time before the aliens at ground level would reach them, but the ones coming from the ceiling and walls were already jumping onto the fragile walk platform. At a closer distance, Dallen could now see their facial features. It was clear that hey hadn't always looked like this, with their entire mouth area bloodied and wide, filled with sharp teeth.

Dallen fired the first shot, one that jolted him slightly backward in the process. A large green pulse fired out of his rifle, it struck the closest alien in the chest, quickly after engulfing the entire creature in an acid like substance, melting it completely and within seconds.

"Whoa!" he said to himself, briefly pausing to take in the moment. He had never fired this particular alien rifle yet, and couldn't help but to smirk from its power and accuracy. As more aliens clinged onto the walkway and started after them, he continued after the girl.

They reached the end of the path, which led to a large, locked, metal door. After a few failed attempts at opening it, Dallen turned and aimed his weapon at it, motioning for the girl to move away. Suddenly Trinity loaded back up in a smaller formed hologram of herself, appearing at the doors monitor.

"That action is ill advised," Trinity spoke.

"Yeah, why's that?" Dallen asked.

"On the other side lies the flight deck," she said. "The pulse cannon you are equipped with travels at a velocity of..."

"Shut the hell up Trinity!"

Dallen fired through her hologram and into the door, creating a large hole in the center. The hole blasted completely through the metal, leaving a perfect circle outlined into the next room. The beam continued past the door and directly into the next, where it went through the glass at the front of the spaceship. Immediately, dark water began pouring into the cockpit in large surges. Warning lights that weren't previously on now came on.

"This vessel is submerged under a sea," Trinity added.

A look of horror struck Dallen's face as he dropped the large weapon he had just fired and grabbed the woman he was with, pulling her immediately away from both the cockpit and the walkway they were just running across. He yanked her over the edge, where they both fell toward the bottom, though Dallen held a good grip on the woman. Before they hit the ground, his jetpack turned on, pausing them in mid air.

The undead aliens all got washed away in the unrelenting water as it quickly began to fill up the large room. Dallen hovered through the air, still holding the woman close, and this time went toward another side door, which currently was his only valid option. Firing his laser from the wrist of his armor, he struck the command panel that was directly next to it, causing the doors to open. The two cruised into the hallway, running as soon as their heels struck the ground.

"Trinity, how do we get out of this alive?" Dallen asked, as he continuously ran through the ship, unaware of where he was heading.

"Escape pods can bring you two safely to the sea's surface," Trinity answered, her hologram now appearing at every monitor they ran past. A map hologram appeared again on both of their suits, highlighting in orange the correct way. Every door that they came across now opened just before they reached them. "It is recommended you both pause for breath."

Dallen ignored her request, going through the last set of metal doors and entering an escape pod with the other. The pod was a small circular area, with barely enough space for the two of them in armor. Trinity set everything up seemingly, and then they were ready.

"Thank you, Trinity," Dallen said, but to no reply.

The pod shot out from the vessel, moving them through the underwater at a great speed. The pressure inside as they moved through the sea felt like it was trying to break him down, but the armor fought it back. Within a few moments, the pod reached the surface and the top of it blew off. The bright light from a sun shined into the pod, blinding the pair for a few seconds. Dallen climbed out, removing his helmet and taking in the fresh air. They were in the middle of an ocean, but land could be clearly seen nearby. Something was different about it, though, about the way the mountains looked in the distance, about the color of everything. The grasses appeared to be purple, with massive trees in all different sizes and colors. The mountains looked like they were sculpted by gods, each having unique details about it. In the sky, there were two suns shining down. The air felt as they would have expected, with oxygen just like earth, but the color was pinkish orange rather than blue.

"Well Todo, we're not in Kansas anymore," Dallen said, a line that just naturally came to him, though he couldn't even remember the source material itself.
