On a hit, tell the team one important detail you’ve learned from your studies. The GM will tell you what, if anything, seems different from what you remember. On a 10+, ask the GM a follow-up question; they will answer it honestly. On a miss, the situation is well outside your base of knowledge; the GM will tell you why.
Fireside chat: When you seek advice from your mentor, roll + the Label they embody. On a hit they will tell you what to do. On a 10+, mark potential if you follow their advice, and take +1 ongoing to follow through. On a 7-9, you get +1 forward to see it through if you do it their way. Backstory:

How did you first meet your mentor?
“It started with an assassination attempt at her. I was a child, trained to kill since my first footsteps. I was meticulously made into a living and breathing weapon until my last mission ended up with a complete failure, and the rest is a history now.”

When and why did you choose to train with them?
“I didn’t have much of a choice. It was either becoming her sidekick or becoming dead meat in a literal sense. It doesn’t mean she liked the way things were. In fact, when I was offered a new identity and family, it was me who refused the offer. I had to atone for all the crimson on my hands.”

Why did they agree to train you?
“I would have been disposed of by my superiors - some kind of death cult - if not for the woman that took me under her wing. Nucleus was the first person to ever show me even an ounce of compassion. I cannot afford to fail her.”

Who else, outside of the team, knows about your training?
“Nucleus, my mentor. I don’t know the details, but some of her teammates may know or at least received some clues. It doesn’t really matter to me, anyways.”

Why do you care about the team?
“It’s an effective unit that, given a proper training and guidance, would be replace the current generation of super-powered individuals. I believe that - with essential protocols and training - all of us will not only show that we are as good as our predecessors, but also superior to them. I was also told by my mentor that I needed to socialize with my peers - for whatever this means.”
