I notice you picked Ari as your region of origin, anything specifically why? I can go into detail of the countries there if you would like, but given that Ari (specifically the Rabari nation) is fairly liberal and accepting a lot of cultures have known to call it home. It also doesn't hurt that it's the home of the best universities in the world, as well as a martial arts hub-- so it is sort of a high quality melting pot of sorts.Though with your last name (which is derived of asian descent?) that does thin out some heritage choices (kataloni, salasi, ludosi, hanshi, longzhi, sunako, tanuka) that I could help you with if you so desired.

I suppose that I chose it because of the environment type; fields and farmland right? It just seemed like the kind of location that would suit the character - wide open fields and empty spaces. Do you think it works for that purpose, and if not then do you think any other areas would work better? I do like the idea of a melting pot though... :)

The last name doesn't matter much - it was a spur of the moment thing. I'm open to changing it to fit a more suitable race, if you have any ideas for one.

I've updated the OP with cultural cores for the regional races, if it helps any. =)

There's farmland anywhere you go; but given Ari is dominated by wind elementals there is a LOT of argiculture and soft rolling hills. It's definitely a big breadbasket sort of place. I always envisioned the big breadbaskets being Rabari/Salasi/Khani (in Ari), Fenris/Kitsuia (in Teriv), Suvakia/Srivak (in Rylos), and Melshir/Aeria (in Sapari).

Question, would it be possible for someone to study and be fairly skilled in two schools of magic, or is there something that would make a person only able to utilize one?

Depends on specifics of what you mean.

Like, would someone be able to know both plague/curses from celestial magic and chaos magic from eternity force, for example.

Likely not in Kataloni due to their religious beliefs being very different and very traditionalist in their approach.

Oh.
Where WOULD there possibly be a monastery?
I assume Katalon because you said they had a Japanese type culture, which is what led me to assume it has that sorta thing
Maybe Ludasi?

If you are looking for holy (see: celestial) monks then the largest order is in Rakir, and there are small demon hunting orders all over the world.

Oh.
No, I mean the Spiritual Monks, the type you'd expect from a Buddhist monastery

Salasi (in Ari) was actually based on shaolin and tibetian monks if that's what you're looking for. But nearly every major culture has aura/ki/mana/etc - based teachings in some way or another.

Um Gowi; I asked about this in my CS, but do we have to give a written description of our character's appearance, or would just a picture work? You weren't very clear there

NAME – Tiberius Winter

AGE – 45

ALIGNMENT – Neither apply, so I shall use the D&D alignment: True Neutral

APPEARANCE – Tiberius is an extremely well built man, but not unnaturally so, with a dark skin tone that would be classed as Anglo-Indian average in the real world. His arm muscles seem to be medium sized, yet much denser than they should have been. He is thin and hard at the stomach, with chest somewhat puffed out naturally. He has long legs, which make up for most of his 6'3" tall body. In terms of clothing, he always wears a blue sort of robe that covers his chest, and goes down to his thighs, and black leggings. On his feet is a braced stroke of bandages on both feet, and no shoes. This is what he wears almost all the time.

STYLE – He uses Physical Spiritual Energy to both harden his body and limbs while fighting, to also create much more powerful attacks by creating "ki" barriers around his limbs to devastate his opponents. He can also use it to provide propulsion to his attacks, an example being a sort of rocket punch that would occur by applying propulsion Ki to the elbow before a full punch.

TECHNIQUES – Tiberius mainly uses his training in the martial arts. This martial art is actually quite mixed, and would be called a combination of muay thai, judo and jiujutsu. A better way of saying this would be that when he punches, its from the waist, and the hands are twisted to maximize bodily damage. Then you add on the damage he can cause by hardening his limbs, propelling his attacks to faster speeds, and creating Ki barriers. Same applies for kicking, takedowns, and drops.

CHARACTER BALANCING – Tiberius, being a monk hailing from Salasi, is a capable fighter at hand to hand, but he is very limited at ranged fighting. As well as that, his detached nature may cause several people to believe he is a cruel person, thereby lowering his status with him socially.

PERSONALITY – Tiberius is a quiet and inwardly melancholy person, who has been taught to be patient, unjudgemental, and decisive. He doesn't always appear nice, but is rightly cheerful enough if you know him well. However, when it comes to people he doesn't like, he is generally patient with them, and treats them the way they deserve to be treated, although this CAN be affected by how he truly thinks of said person, for Tiberius IS entirely human.

BACKSTORY –

ORIGIN –

OTHER – Even though he seems old, a lifetime of constant training has made sure he's not going "obsolete" any time soon.

WIP, but go ahead, look it over

Unfortunately for me, recent events have created a situation in which being in this rp would just slow everyone down. I won't have enough time or commitment to spare, and so I'm backing out of making a CS.

Wouldn't want to be a hinderance to you guys. Best wishes for this thing :3

It sounded more like a joke about how self explanatory 'Appearance' was, Something I've seen GMs do in the past. In my experience, GMs will say "words, not pictures" when they want a text description.

That being the case, while it saddens me, I'll have to drop out of this now. Giving detailed text descriptions of a person is my greatest weakness in RPing. It's really too bad; I was looking forward to this
