Station Stellar Gate

Terminal Map
Date: 12, 4, 3004

End of the Gold Trails

The Gold Trail end signified the single loss of the biggest market odyssey that has been or would be seen for years, it was the one occasion where the many divided colonies and factions opened up to trade to the Sol system and it's neighbors, bringing with it prosperity, luxury and unbelievable traffic. It left with with all three of these as well, which in and of itself was of just as much wonder. The ships of all cargo and domestic varieties sprawled over the galaxy in a single queue with the oddity of a delirious architect fantastical visions.

Orbs floated aimlessly, blocks with glass eyes peered out at the traffic, pyramids, torus in plastic, Cargo ships anchored into the horizon and beyond the human eye while a series of foreign and long forgotten ship designs slowly all drifted in a 250 ship wide lane. The length of these ques all extended beyond the dreams of the most ambitious land grabbing powers, yet they staggered at best and floated lazily towards the Stellar Codex. The biggest station that marked the inner borders of Unity and the Colonies.

Each of these lanes, and above them had war ships with clear paintings of deep sea blue the size of titans, casting shadows over hundreds of even the biggest of cargo trawlers while consuming the sun from view hovering around them. Smaller carriers and interceptors from bombers and fighters all fly over in quick scans, new ones replacing those that disappear in the distance. For you, this long ordeal from inside the Sol system is over. For you the joy of seeing something besides the back of another ship or the barrel of a gun that dwarfs whatever transport you had taken to exit the over flowing sector has ended.

Stellar Gate awaits, arms open wide to take you into The biggest Border check point, perhaps even the biggest station ever built by man. The smooth descent into its road and drift into its mouth swims your world in serene blue light; spreading its hue over the neutral gray walls and floors. Black leather seats in rows and ribbons loiter while People pass by and through the docks. The vague image of a reception sits in a blur far on the other side in between an army of crowds, stalls, vending machines and god knows what but you're sure some of them aren't human, whatever that means these days.

Filth.

It filled Z’arch’s mind as his existence seemed to melt into the environment about him, the frantic dirty wisps of life passing him by, searching for their purpose - or the exit, more probably. Many impure races scattered the seats like excrement. Greed and obesity seemed a common factor among those he paid any attention to, glutinous masses of aimless tissue, stagnant in the universe, an infection of the stars. Intermingling breathes, cleansing chemicals and invisible space fumes was all he could sense, his unfortunately advanced smell giving him a particularly vile look at the station’s entrance. His broad stature meant he forced others to alter course and his relatively tall physique have him the chance to peer out of the windows on either side, the silent expanse of black stretching out forever.

Z’arch felt naked without his equipment, but he sent it through his connection, to pick up when the time was right. He wasn't fond of the justice system, he wasn't going to give them a reason to suspect anything. In fact, there was nothing to suspect. He was in the system with other business, and now that it was concluded, he could return to his last assignment with no goons on his tail. His tail, which now caressed the wall behind him for balance, was suddenly tugged hard. Spinning on his boots, Z’archs black eyes came to a stop on the swollen face of Hirri. A dim witted alien of the most ugly kind. While beauty was said to be in the mind of the beholder, he was sure not even this whelps mothers could attribute the word to Hirri. He was a local crook, low down in the ladder, often trodden upon by others as they passed. Some how Z’arch had avoided planting his boot onto this ones face as he climbed, and for that Hirri was grateful. However, gratitude took the form of stalking Z’arch, which was less than ideal for a Yul in his profession.

Light pulled up his shirt to cover his mouth as best as he could as he we tossed about in the waves made of flesh and bone. Bone... He patted his pocket, one hand still holding the tight fabric up to his nose. It was still there, the small piece of yellowish alien spine resting quietly in his pocket. His mind was consumed with the thought of what it was and how to find that out, but his attention was drawn to something else. The rather large something that Light had just ran into. He bounced off the creature, his left hand dropping his shirt, exposing him to the recycled particles of air in the ship that was full of filth. He right hand clutched the bone in his pocket that was now stabbing into his palm. He looked up at the man, his gaze a mixture of wonder and apology.

Z'arch peered down at the human, his consciousness halting the involuntary movement of his arm. Were it not a human, he would have reached down and picked this one up from the unnatural comfort that was this stations gravity systems. He would have brought them up to his face and taken a good long stare into their soul. Instead, he sniffed hoarsely, his natural system overloaded with filtration tasks. He adjusted himself and slipped his tail upright to his back. Allowing the human past without consequence. He wasn't risking his transport for a human with poor sense of space, least of all one who appeared so set on not making a fuss. It would seem they both found this place foul, the human held a rag to its face to inhibit the entry of toxins and pollutants. Z'arch held eye contact intensely, waiting for the Human to move on, or to start something they would both regret.

*Light released his pocket and moved his shirt back to his face, his eyes full of fascination.

"I haven't seen one of you before, what breed of creature might you be?" Light didn't really know if his words caused offense, nor would he care if they did.

This creature was interesting. He had many questions, and if the beast made a huff about it, it would be on the creature. Humans had right of way in this solar system.
