Thought as much, but figured it could be explained without having to change anything. Truthfully there's probably a handful of others in Zerul alone who has enough of an interest/desire to maintain the ban on the forbidden arts to stage the murder of the Voice of Reason, but Dennis Remdal is doubtlessly the most powerful and most likely suspect.

If it was Remdal who's behind it and if, god forbid, somehow Jill's family got hurt in the process then Gerald is not the only one with an agenda of revenge on the man. Coul be fun in the future :3

Even if not, his stance on the darker magics makes him a direct opponent to what Jill wants. If, for instance, her efforts in defeating the Withering gave her some influence in the duchies, she would almost certainly leverage it to try and convince people that they're not as bad as they are made out to be. I can't imagine that Dennis would just idly watch that happen.

I apologize if that post just now was somehow sub-par, messy or somehow wrong, but I haven't slept for over forty-eight hours and I'm getting a little lightheaded. Still felt like seizing the opportunity to post, so here we are.

Nothing wrong with it Jack, don't sweat it. Wouldn't have realized anything was amiss if you didn't say so. But yo, get some sleep guy. ^^

There, a post. Sorry for the delay ... been slightly dead these day. I estimate one or two, maybe three posts from me before Aemoten goes off to find Thaler. (Depending on what gets saying and whether or not any collabing over Skype or similar takes place.

A new character to be met this day IC, huh? Could go many ways (expect people who are weary at the very least if you want to be met at the gate, though ... might also be still injured; daren't make predictions over mood, but suffice to say any suggestions of converting would most probably not be well received). On another note, Legion figured her and Angora might get along quite well...

Yo Jack, I'm taking a little longer than I'd like here, sorry. I both bit off a bit more than I can chew in terms of free-time workload (hah) and have precious little time outside of work in the first place. Also hardly any sleep, so there's that. But I'll just say that I will get my post in sometime in this week. Hopefully even before the weekend, but no promises at this rate. :x

Um... Nessa? Aemoten has left to find Thaler a long, long time before the end of Legion's latest post. He is not going to stay there any longer, but would rather be after her in about 20 minutes IC, counting from when she wandered off... In other words, Legion's post ends after Aemoten has already found Thaler. About half an hour after Aemoten has found Thaler, by my estimate. Maybe longer.

Jack next on that side, I think ... followed by me with Domhnall and then Legion again. I'll also be collabing the Aemoten/Thaler meeting with Nessa (whether it's one post or several as we go depends on how long it would end up being, I think).

Okay, I have tried and tried - I have struggled desperately - to make your post work, Legion, but no matter how many pages I write, scrap and start over, no matter how much I think about it, I just can't come up with a scenario that is actually believable and makes sense that would accommodate your post. No matter how I look at it, it still seems absurd that Angora and Iridiel (which notably is forty percent of the characters present in the scene; sixty percent if one includes Domhnall, who was involved at the end) carry on with a long, seemingly private and rather relevant conversation beside the campfire where Jaelnec and Olan are probably present too.
The nightwalkers just sitting there creepily listening to their conversation would not only presumably be disruptive of the conversation, it would also be uncharacteristic for both of them to do nothing but listen through the entire thing; Olan almost certainly would have inserted himself into the conversation and Jaelnec would probably have been liable to leave and give them some privacy, unless he joined in too. The nightwalkers just talking to each other by the campfire is a similar issue with participants from either conversation being able to overhear the other, meaning that keeping the conversations separate would be a struggle in and by itself, and that is without even considering the fact that Domhnall is there, too, somewhere. If the nightwalkers weren't nearby, on the other hand, you'd think that would be its own kind of disruptive altogether unless Angora, Iridiel and Domhnall really just don't care about them in the least... and that doesn't even begin to deal with why the nightwalkers wouldn't be nearby. They already gathered firewood by that time (or at the very least would finish doing so during the conversation), and I can't think of a reason important enough that Jaelnec and Olan would delay going back to the others to have a long talk about that could buy the others the time they need to finish their talk. Eh...

So yeah... I've been banging my head against the wall for days now, and I can't come up with something plausible. Is there any way that you could possibly edit your post to reflect that the nightwalkers exist?

Unless the nightwalkers talk about what they're going to do when they reach Zerul, about Angora but also everything/one else?
Or maybe they can discuss what happened at the guard house and if there would be a 'repeat visit' and if so how to deal with it?
Discuss about Roct and her effects?

Sorry just trying to give ideas.

I voice-acted through the entire Iridiel-Angora conversation just to make sure - including me trying to mimic the speech-pattern of someone who doesn't know the language, with pauses included where Iridiel was searching for words (and then other pauses for when I was accounting for the described actions and just reading over the rest of the post).
In its entirety, it clocked in at six minutes and thirty-eight seconds in total, which is some time, to be certain, but not that long (the point where Legion's post mentions that the others were making their way over - "Angora shook her head and kept quiet as Iridiel continued, whilst the others began to make their way over towards them, sitting at the fire." - came in at about five minutes). Entirely conceivable that one would spend it just gathering wood. And I kind of imagine that Jaelnec would knowingly avoid that general area while he thinks Angora might be still washing up because, well, naked Angora (and I'd figure he's both too bashful and too much of a gentleman to risk coming face-to-face with her in her bare state).
I'll second Nessa - probably discuss the situation with Olan (remind you - he wasn't there for much of Angora/Iridiel/Domhnall's discussion, because Aemoten had lead him off, but Olan was still there and heard everything the three said), or, indeed, have a little discussion with Roct, what with the new relevations.

Angora shook her head and kept quiet as Iridiel continued, whilst the others began to make their way over towards them, sitting at the fire.

I actually shed a tear or two in utter frustration at that. It was physically painful. I've read that post so many times while trying to write my own post, yet somehow - somehow - I've managed to miss that particular passage every single time.
Eh... so five minutes, plus a short while between them starting to gather firewood/generally removing themselves from the campsite, is how long they are meant to keep themselves occupied. Then they come back and overhear Iridiel tell the story of how she got exiled, which I suppose they would do without interrupting her simply because it would seem unusually rude to do so.

*heaves a sigh so deep that it makes the drapes flutter* I think I can work with that... Honestly, I don't know why this particular post is so difficult for me.
