Emperor Baldor
Name: Baldor I
Nickname:
Age: 279
Birth Date: February 25th, 25,380 AD
Gender: Male
Planet of Origin: Nova Terra
Race/Species: Human-Solarian
Height: 6ft
Weight: 225Ib
Physical Description or Image:
Social Class: Nobility
Titles: Emperor of the Galactic Imperium
Occupation: Imperial Monarch if the Imperium
Hobbies/Pastimes: The ancient game of Chess, Equestrianism, and Writing
Talents/Skills: Competent Administrator, able to play multiple musical instruments, and possesses good skill in combat.
Religious Beliefs: Atheist.
Personality: Charming, polite, and a gentleman. Baldor was raised for Imperial Court life and plays it well. However internally he is a deeply conflicted man who knows the Emperorship pales to what it once was. Concerned over the erosion of power for the bickering of the Senate and the fragmentation of the Empire.
Biography: Born to Emperor Koronus I and his sixth wife Verina, Koronus only child, and rumored that the previous Emperor had to have Medicinal assistance to get his wife pregnant. Baldor was born on a cold morning on the planet of Nova Terra. Within the Imperial Palace. Raised more by Empress Verina and the Imperial Vicar (chamberlain) Ernest da'Zurgenfeld than his own father; this was probably a good thing. Koronus was lazy and let more of the Emperorships authority diminish. However, Baldor was raised to become quite the astute young man. Entering service with the Imperial Army and then the Guard to earn military experience at age 25. He lived, ate, and slept in the same rooms as Imperial soldiers. Although under the watchful eye of the Praetorians who where ever close by. Until the age of 42 when he left service and entered the administration. Appointed as the military governor of the troublesome planet of Orsar XIV. Needless to say he managed to end the rebellious sentiment there adequately enough.

Ascending to the Celestial Throne amidst much pomp, Baldor could have lived a life of endless luxury as the wealthiest man in the Galaxy, but instead chose modesty. Not being a genius, but not stupid either, Baldor is a man of relatively modest intellect. Marrying Augusta Va Angelus of Great House Angelus, he has five children: Valerian, Valeria, Verina, Romeran, and Reman. Aged 25, 23, 19, 15, and 7 respectively. Unfortunately, much to Baldor's continued dismay and bouts of gloom, his wife passed away unexpectedly after the delivery of Reman. Her sudden death was deemed a natural cause, but complications in labor, which were not accounted for may have led to her death. Leaving Baldor as the sole parent for the five Imperial children.

Baldor was a loving father, but does have a double standard in regards to Valerian and the rest of his children, viewing Valerian as more a heir to be groomed than a family member. As such Baldor is often professional and detached from his eldest Son. But dotes on his daughters and younger sons. As such Valerian is much the independent child of the family.

Valerian

Race/Species: Presumably Half Solarian and Half Human

Personality: Pragmatic, harsh, and generally uncompromising but honorable.
Biography: The eldest child of Emperor Baldor I, and born on the Imperial Sanctuary planet of Odin. Crown Prince Valerian grew up amid the beautiful mountains, beaches, and forests of Odin. He was groomed to be Emperor, a strong Emperor, and as such was quickly given over to the military. Performing above all expectations and even sitting on the Joint Chiefs for the Navy, Guard, and Army on three separate terms. Officially he is not formally a part of the military, and instead operates under specific mandates, fulfilling the role as an executive in the name of the Emperor than an officer of the Imperial military. As such he is often met with either praise or utter chagrin from Imperial officers. While also not afraid to circumvent Senatorial power to accomplish his own goals. As such the Senate is divided upon him as well due to the fact he is the most likely candidate to succeed to the Celestial Throne. A possibility that could put the Throne and Senate at odds with each other.

Valeria
Name: Valeria

Age: 23
Birth Date: October 31st, 25,636
Gender: Female
Planet of Origin: Nova Terra

Talents/Skills: Survival skills, excellent pilot
Religious Beliefs: Atheist
Personality: Polite if a bit impulsive at times. Unafraid to speak her mind, however she has since learned to be a negotiator in the capacity of representing the Imperial Family to the Senate
Biography: Born on Nova Terra in the Imperial Palace, unlike her brother, she never went into the military. Instead she was thrust into the Senatorial scene. Working with the Senate and observing the legislative process. Baldor hoped that one day she would become a Senator or Imperial Judiciary in the Imperial Justice system. Her life as a result has been a mix of backstabbing, boredom, and yearning for adventure. Hearing the stories of her brother and those of her father's past experiences only makes this worse.

Valeria is much an aloof person and distant from her older brother. Possessing a closer bond with her younger brothers Romeran and Reman, but is arguably the favorite child of Baldor by the way the Emperor dotes on her, and bears a more striking resemblance to the late Empress.

Biography: The third child of Emperor Baldor and his younger daughter. Verina wanted for nothing, but yet she stood out, for she was most like Valerian in resemblance; yet, was garnered with similar qualities as her father and older sister. She was a kind and gentle child growing up, largely on Odin, and cried when Valerian left to pursue his military training. She was always more attached to Valerian than to any of her other siblings, and the two where largely inseparable during their childhoods save when Valerian was on Nova Terra or else ware. Unlike her younger brothers who where largely raised on Nova Terra, like Valeria before her, Verina was raised mostly on Odin. Like her older brother.

At the age of 16 she was enrolled into the Imperial Logisticae Academy at Raithon Prime. Raithon Prime being home to an extensive Imperial military training base for the Logisticae in the Inner Worlds. Her father initially allowing this for a short time. She graduated after a year, a year early, with certificates in Cybernetics and nanotechnology. Her learning having been accelerated by the intervention of Baldor. Seeking to place her in one of the larger branches. She was transferred to the Imperial Navy, but did attend an eight week Marine training at Corona-Skie in the Middle Worlds. Arriving at the Sayshelle Naval Academy on the world of Santonni, located in the Outer Territories. Located in the deep Galactic South many thousands of light years away from Nova Terra. Sayshelle was home to one of the largest Naval bases and training centers in the Imperium.

Transferring with the rank of Ensign she was spent two years at the academy. Graduating with certification to fly assault craft, auxiliary craft, and larger ships up to cruisers. She was admitted into the Sayshelle Imperial Officers Academy in her second year and exited with the rank of Lieutenant. Her heavy course load took a toll on her however and she did attempt suicide more than once, possessing few real friends, and feeling distant from her family. However, the intervention of Valerian and Baldor managed to halt this activity. In an effort to keep her training on track they had her transferred to be tutored by one of the Imperium's Grand Admirals.

(I've read and re-read the backstory and lore but due to the depth there's a good chance I'll mess something up, if that's the case then I'll be more than happy to change it)

Name: Whitley
Nickname: N/A
Age: 24
Birth Date: November 8th, 25,633
Gender: Male
Planet of Origin: Nova Terra
Race/Species: Human
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 220lbs
Physical Description or Image:

Social Class: Affiliated with the Imperial Family
Titles: Lieutenant (Groomed for a potential promotion to Captain)
Occupation: Imperial Stormtrooper
Hobbies/Pastimes: Though the famed Imperial training regime takes up most of his time Whitley greatly enjoys reading and learning about the History of the empire as well as other cultures
Talents/Skills: Extremely capable marksman and overall combatant, untapped potential in military stratagem
Religious Beliefs: Agnostic

Personality: For an Imperial Guardsman Whitley is more approachable than most however is extremely defensive of his organization and past exploits on other planets, leading to the impression that he is far more capable of the often morally ambiguous actions of a Stormtrooper than he at first may seem. Despite this Whitley is rather open and unfailingly polite, particularly to nobles from various other planets and naturally the Imperial Family itself.

Biography: Whitley was born in the Undercity of Nova Terra and as like most Imperial Stormtroopers, to parents that he'd never meet. Whitley was raised primarily by a small family who operated a salvage shop in one of the slightly less crime infested areas, however by the time he turned 13 Whitley was deemed too much of a burden by the financially struggling family and was sent out to make his own way on Nova Terra.

For at least a year Whitley would bed with some acquaintances he'd made as a child and sell any useful scrap he came across in the slums, though he would never make contact with the family that raised him again. It was around this time Whitley had encountered a small patrol of Imperial Guardsmen, their presence in a gloomy place like the Undercity giving them an almost heroic like aura to the young Whitley. The encounter stayed with him for the remainder of his days, though he never would find out that the Stromtroopers had been in the area solely to quell a particularly violent uprising amongst the syndicates of criminals, severely.

Feeling inspired by these larger than life beacons of hope and accompanied by the knowledge that Guardsman often took street urchins like himself into their ranks he had sought to join and was put through the extremely harsh and seemingly unending training process. Despite the enormous physical strain, particularly for a less nourished youth, Whitley showed fantastic promise as a Guardsman, excelling in many of their combat exercises and eventually adapting his body to the daily punishment the training entailed. By the time he turned eighteen Whitley was enlisted as a full Guardsman.

Since then Whitley has grown to become an extremely capable member of the Guardsmen and has earned the rank of Lieutenant. However the years of brutal enforcement by the Guardsmen with which Whitley has willing partaken in and the increasingly glaring cracks in the Empire have left Whitley much more disenfranchised. Whilst never being as fanatic as some of his brethren he had always held steadfast loyalty to the Empire and the Imperial Family, but many nobles have noted to themselves his much more conflicted mind on both the Empire and his own morality. Something that, in the hands of a more savvy noble, can become dangerous.

After all, the support of one of the previously unflappable and fanatically devoted Imperial Stormtroopers is not support to be ignored...

Name: Kaeso Veranius Adepphius
Nickname: The Bastard
Age: 19
Birth Date: July 3 25,640
Gender: Male
Planet of Origin: Praetoriax II
Race/Species: Human
Height: 5’9
Weight: 175lb
Physical Description or Image:

Social Class: Minor Noble
Titles: Bastard son of a Noble
Occupation: Military Squad Leader of the House Adepphius Retinue
Hobbies/Pastimes: Writing, Thinking, Stargazing
Talents/Skills: Leadership, Marksmanship and General War Skills
Religious Beliefs: The Ancient Ones (Religion of the Tri System Senatum)
Personality: Brave, Caring, Smart, Cautious, Would sacrifice self for others, desires to be home with his siblings
Biography:
Son of Marcus Tullius and brother to Gnaeus and Axia. Kaeso is the disgraced son of the Noble House Adepphius. He has been sent to fight on the frontlines in the civil war between House Adepphius and their ancient rivals of House Veros over disputes over the use of the Imperial Denarii. It began several years prior when his father Marcus, then Primarch of the Systems Senatum, decreed that the old form of currency, Blue Vaeykyte was no longer a suitable form and made the Imperial Denarii the default replacement. Most of the senatum voiced their approval apart from House Veros, who opposed the idea. It is not known whether this was due to their genuine concern or in an act of spite against their bitter rivals, but shortly after the Denarii was adopted, the sector was plunged into hyperinflation, it was now struggling to sustain itself. Pleas of aid to the Imperial senate on Nova Terra were denied as they believed it would soon be sorted and was a ‘Temporary effect of the change’.

After a year of struggle, House Veros led a coup on the planet of Exon III, defeating local government forces, only hours later the entire planet was under their control.

Now, 3 years later the conflict still goes on, with the Exon System aligning itself with House Veros and the Praetoriax System aligning itself with House Adepphius, the system thus caught in the middle of the conflict, the Tallus system has been all but destroyed with the waring fleets and armies battling on both ground and space.

Kaeso himself is a squad leader and has been part of the conflict for 3 years, since he came of age. He leads Medusa Squad of the 2nd Legion and has been through much with his fellow soldiers, witnessing their deaths and their successes alike. He has achieved what would be considered the rank of Captain in the Imperial Army but as he fights in the House Adepphius’ Retinue Force he would not be treated as one in the presence of Imperial Forces.

The reasoning behind Kaeso being cast out into the Retinue was because of his illegitimacy to the House and his fathers belief he would threaten Gaeus’ right to rule. Believing the war would kill him off. However Marcus loved Kaeso’s mother, so when she pleaded he take care of him at least until he came of age he promised. She passed shortly after giving birth to Kaeso, so he never knew of her.

Kaeso is on good relations with Gaeus and Axia as he grew up with them, they desire for him to return and are quite close however Marcus has been able to remove Kaeso from his mind as he has outcast him and now only sees him as a threat to Gaeus’ lineage.
