I wonder how common the trait of 'jumping on a live grenade to save others around you' is.

Common enough that two people at an equal distance from the grenade would have the same reaction?

Has there ever been a circumstance where two soldiers are trying the same thing and collide like two baseball players going after a fly-ball in the outfield? Would they both fail at absorbing the damage?

Does the thought of colliding ever cross their minds? What if they have a very strong feeling that the other is going to jump on it, so they don't? What if they both feel that way?

You need to spend more time outside.

That'd look pretty dumb.

Now imagine someone jumping on a grenade and it turns out to be a dud...

I think that there aren't many people alive who jump onto live grenades. That's what I think.

I think if anyone has it set in their mind that they're going to jump on a grenade, then no outside force is going to stop them from doing their best to make sure they get on top of it.
