SOLAR SKIRMISH

Situation: Pirates have overrun the garrison defending the planet Central, the regional hub for commerce and trade within Sirius Sector. Planetary population held hostage and system is effectively blockaded.
Opposition: Approximately two battlegroups of pirate cruisers, raiders, and boarding carriers, led by an old assault carrier, the Acheron. Planetary defenses and civilian reports confirm pirate forces are concentrated in and around planetary orbit, but sufficient strength present patrolling the outer system to prevent a sneak deployment in the system’s outer regions.
Assets: 1x starship of no greater than capital-type designation (battlecruiser, battleship, dreadnought or assault carrier; anything larger would be a titan, and anything smaller would be a cruiser) max per player, plus attendant assets such as fighters, mecha, boarding craft, etc.
Restrictions: Limited use of strategic weapons (antimatter bombs, dimensional interrupts, etc.) no godmodding and no superweapons.

Any character from any universe welcome - this is cross-universe, so Mass Effect, Star trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, WH40K etc, and your own creations are welcome.

Potential roles are those in ships in the space engagement, and those who go down to the surface to fight the pirates on the ground, urban combat setting.

@stardustIf I may, I suggest changing the status from "Jump In" to "Apply". Otherwise people can just go to town posting IC without ever going to you first for approval.

Type: Point Capture Vehicle.
Affiliation:Commonwealth Military Instrumentality
Role: Mothership, establishment of outposts, creation of infrastructure for long term operations, information warfare.
Passengers: 28 who are not considered part of Silent Deuteragonist
Personality: Silent Deuteragonist is often times a serious and stern being, while it tolerates jokes it rarely makes them. It considers war to be very serious business and prefers to get it over with as quickly as possible, even if that means increasing casualties of combatatents, it prefers to avoid non-combatent casualties. It only cares for its life based on utility towards bringing about peace. Red tape frustrates it, but it understands its utility. Outside of Combat Silent Deuteragonist is much more sociable and often speaks under a different name.

Weapon systems:
Drones
Warp drive: Requires time to charge in order to weaponize, vast amounts of energy required
force field: Generally best for close range, but can be used for a few long ranged applications
antimatter flechettes: Only keeps a small amount of ammunition generated at any given time
Coherent radiation weapons:while lacking the punch of more exotic weapons, they are highly versatile
Aurora Shield system
gravitic field cannons: while powerful, takes time to charge

Four Wyrvern class Weapon platforms
1 overseers yacht
6 transports for evacuating civilians
a very large amount of drones

Nice looking setup @Lucidnonsense. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. To answer your question, it is not an exact science. If you were to back me into a corner and demand a number, depends how large the ship is and how large the equipment is, factoring in the need to carry consumables and spares aboard ship as well. Drones? IDK. Say 200?

Drones come in a variety of sizes, some of them are like little more than a tiny engine with some equipment attacked to them, others actually have guns, some are more utility based, like construction robots.
