It took a few minutes for someone to answer the door. Part of Caleb hoped it would be Ambrose, but his hopes were dashed to pieces when Morgan answered the door. The look he gave him was one you didn't give a visitor, it was more like Caleb was interfering or didn't belong at his door knocking and it made Caleb smirk. He knew of his reputation as the Headmaster's son, though Caleb worked hard and trained his body, mind, and soul nearly every day he could. He was trained personally by the Headmaster during his free time, and the Headmaster's training was something he wished on no individual. If you thought the Headmaster's glare was rough, being instructed by a man who pounded his teachings into his student. There was silence and Caleb just looked at Morgan who asked him a question laced with sarcasm.

"I doubt you could help me," Caleb had replied though he was sure Morgan wouldn't try anything stupid. After all, Caleb's reputation at BlackBrick was well known to nearly everyone except most first years, but Caleb did recall running into first years who knew of him. It was hard dating because of it, being used is something he hated and it seemed that most tried to whenever they figured out Caleb's soft spot and connection with the Headmaster. Morgan sidestepped to let Caleb in but yelled to wake Ambrose up. Ambrose appeared at the door a few moments later, his hair a mess which made Caleb smile. He loved the fact that Ambrose wasn't perfect, that he had flaws and it made him feel normal even though Caleb was far from normal.

Ambrose and Morgan went back and forth for a brief moment before Ambrose turned and walked into the living room of the dorm room. Caleb walked in and eyed Morgan for a brief moment before turning his attention to Ambrose. He sat down across from him slowly and observed him for a brief moment almost as if he wanted to see for himself if Ambrose was alright or had gotten enough sleep. Finally, he broke the silence.

"I'm glad you let me see you," Caleb said, "I wanted to make sure you were alright after....," he paused and decided not to bring up a fresh wound. "I just wanted to make sure you were okay," Caleb finished placing a soft hand on the wound on his side. "I was hoping you'd want to go for a walk or something and talk."

Caleb was trying to use wording that wouldn't put Morgan into their business.

Rubbing away at his tired eyes, Ambrose groaned quietly as he leaned back into the couch. He raised one eyebrow at Caleb stumbling through his words, trying to be gentle with Ambrose. Which was probably the right choice, but it still rubbed him the wrong way. He imagined everyone from the group pitied him after how the Headmaster saw right through him. He bet everyone was afraid of that happening to them as well. Still, it was strange to see Caleb stumble through his words. Usually he was the smooth, confident one.

Morgan took a seat on the couch next to Ambrose, flipping silky blond hair out of his piercing eyes. He observed the two silently for a bit, trying to exactly pinpoint the nature of his relationship.

"I mean... What more is there to talk about?" Ambrose replied with a neutral shrug, being more blunt then usual. "It's not like you should be walking around anyways, if there is anything you have to talk about, we can do it here." Ambrose continued, oblivious to the smirk crossing Morgan's face.

"Just don't make a mess or get too rowdy." Morgan piped in, and Ambrose shot a glare at him.

"Now why would we do that?" Ambrose grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest. Morgan sniffled a chuckle.

"I've heard a lot about this Caleb character." He answered honestly, "Apparently he's quite the party animal, along with his friend Samantha."

Ambrose rolled his eyes and turned back to Caleb, "I'm well aware of that."

Caleb adjusted himself in the seat as he observed Ambrose. He couldn't blame him for any reaction he may receive from him. At least now he knew he was okay. In honesty he didn't know what they would talk about either, perhaps mend their friendship, but Caleb felt that their friendship was beyond mending at this point. He would still keep his promise and train Ambrose, but he sought nothing in return for his actions. Caleb watched as Morgan moved in place and took a seat next to Ambrose. He was looking at him and Caleb gladly ignored him. Then Ambrose asked him what more was there to talk about and Caleb shrugged.

"You're right, there is nothing left to talk about." He looked at Morgan who had started talking, telling Ambrose that he was known for being a party animal, followed by Ambrose admitting that he knew. Caleb sighed and stood to his feet. He didn't feel well, but at least he knew Ambrose was okay and that gave him some peace. "I just wanted to check on you is all," Caleb said as he moved to the door and opened it. "See you around Ambrose. Take care, Morgan." Caleb moved through the threshold and closed the door behind him exhaling after he realized he was in the hall of the male dorms.

"Caleb?" a voice came as he looked around and saw Alex walking up towards him.

"Hey Alex," Caleb replied trying not to make eye contact.

"You okay man?" Alex asked causing Caleb to shrug.

"I honestly don't know," Caleb replied turning to walk away. "It was good seeing you, Alex."

"Look, Caleb, I forgive you for what happened. I know why you did what you did, and even though I don't approve, I hate to see you like this. Are you sure you're okay?" Alex asked again concerned.

Caleb smiled softly but kept his hand on his injury as he nodded and walked away. Alex sighed and moved in the opposite direction.

Ambrose heaved a sigh as Caleb stood up, taking his leave. He watched him walk painfully out the door, and Ambrose felt a pang of regret shoot through him. He wished things were different between them, that everything was roses and peaches. But it wasn't. And Ambrose didn't know if he could ever change that, or if he should even try.

"Leaving so soon?" Morgan chimed in sarcastically from his place on the couch, his haughty smirk flashing blindingly. Ambrose shot a dark glare as he stood up and followed to the doorway Caleb had just left through. "You know, you don't have to be involved with my business, I know how much I tend to annoy you." Ambrose shot back before pushing the door open and stepping out into the dorm hallway.

Ambrose passed by Alex, who seemed as if he had just talked to Caleb. He was taken back, and surprised Alex wasn't giving Caleb a yelling at or something like that. Ambrose murmured a quick, timid greeting before rushing past to Caleb's side. He huffed slightly once he finally caught up, stopping by Caleb's side.

"Listen, I, uh, wanted to apologize for how I acted. I know you're trying to make things better... I'm just going through some stuff." Ambrose admitted, his voice shook slightly as he spoke. "Also, I realized I should probably walk you to your hospital room, Sam said we should pair up anyways."

Caleb had made it quite a distance down the hall from Ambrose's room. Alex was worried. Caleb looked exhausted. While he didn't like what happened, he had forgiven Caleb for what had happened. He understood Caleb did it because he wasn't man enough to do it himself. Still, he could've died, but part of him was thankful that Caleb had done it rather than someone else. He would be dead right now had it been anyone beside Caleb. That he was thankful for, and that was one of the reasons he had forgiven him because he knew how much power Caleb held and how much training he'd gone through with the Headmaster. Everyone knew the Headmaster's reputation and power, and there were people who would kill to be trained by him. The man was old, very old and his wisdom was taken with gratitude. Nonetheless, as Alex neared his room, he stopped and looked at his doorknob for a moment.

"Damn Caleb," he said opening his door and entering in.

Caleb hadn't heard Ambrose's door close, but when he saw him he wondered what he wanted. He had already made it clear there was nothing left to talk about, granted Caleb still needed to train him, but other than that there was no further need for them to communicate, but traveling in pairs would make for awkward situations; however, it seemed that Ambrose wanted to talk now for some reason and he could only wonder why. Caleb listened to Ambrose apologize and his words made him smile. At least Ambrose knew he was trying to fix things between them.

"You don't have to walk with me Ambrose, I'm fine," Caleb said looking at Ambrose. He fell silent for a moment as they walked before speaking again. "If only I got to know you, I could help you with whatever it is you're going through," Caleb said. It wasn't something he planned to say, it just came out. "You have no idea how much I like you, but you.....don't have.....to." Caleb suddenly felt very fatigued. His vision began to blur and he shook his head slightly. Then everything went dark and the last thing he remembered was feeling his knees give out.

Caleb's unconscious body fell towards Ambrose.

Ambrose kept pace with Caleb, even though Caleb had made it clear it wasn't necessary. He shrugged nonchalantly, and basked in the silence between them. It was awkward sure, for a moment, but Ambrose preferred that over nervous small talk. Then Caleb broke it, trying to reach out to him again. Ambrose shook his head and heaved a sigh, "Listen, Caleb-" He broke off when he looked back at him, seeing his face pale and eyes lose their focus. "you don't look so goo-" Ambrose yelped out of surprise as Caleb's slack body collapsed towards him.

Ambrose caught him instinctively, and luckily Caleb didn't hit his head on the ground or anything. Ambrose's knees almost buckled at the extra weight, and he grunted as he tried to reposition Caleb's limp limbs to find a better positive to hold him. "Jesus..." He groaned as he pulled Caleb's arm over his neck, essentially dragging him along the corridor.

Ambrose took Caleb all the way to the hospital wing of the campus, even if he got strange looks or giggles from other passerbys. He was sweating by the time he got to Caleb's room and grunted with effort as he released him onto the bed. It wasn't like Caleb is a very large man, it was just Ambrose had thin arms and wasn't used to holding anything very heavy. Ambrose collapsed into a nearby chair, watching Caleb breath in slowly. He should probably call a nurse now. He really should.

Instead he stood up slowly, approaching the bed side cautiously, as if he was afraid of waking Caleb up. He studied the face of the man who peaked his interest all those weeks ago. Even now, it was hard to tear his eyes away. His hand reached out to touch it, just because Ambrose needed to know if it was as soft as he thought. But as soon as his fingers were inches away, the door creaked open and nurse stepped through, presumingly bringing Caleb his lunch. Ambrose leapt back, face burning bright red. "O-oh, um, he fainted." He explained in a hurry, huffing as he tried to cover his embarrassment.

The nurse looked at Ambrose and then Caleb. She rushed to him placing the food on a small table before approaching. She examined Caleb not speaking as she removed his shirt. She placed her fingers on his neck checking his pulse. She looked concerned as she removed her fingers from his neck. She displayed incredible strength as she maneuvered Caleb into a better position on the bed. She slowly moved her hand to the bandage. When she touched the bandage, Caleb groaned but his eyes remained closed. She sighed and began to peel the bandage away from the wound.

"Oh dear, this is bad," she commented removing the second bandage on Caleb's right shoulder. There looked to be some type of infection. There were dark lines moving away from the wound. "It looks to be some sort of infection," she added as she looked at Ambrose, "stay here, I will be right back."

She left the room in a hurry leaving Caleb and Ambrose alone. Caleb's eyes slowly opened as he looked around the room. He was back in his room in the medical wing. He looked over at Ambrose. He felt like hell, and as he looked down at his stomach he realized he was shirtless. "Wha....what happened?" He asked weakly as he tried to move but the pain was too much and he grunted. "Shit!" he shouted in pain as a surge overwhelmed his nerves. The nurse soon returned with a syringe filled with an odd colored liquid.

"Be still," she said to Caleb, "this is an antibiotic, enhanced with magic. It will help fight this supernatural infection. I warn you, it's going to hurt as it courses through your veins. You, hold his right arm," she said instructing Ambrose. When he was holding Caleb's arm, she inserted the needle directly into the wound on his left side while holding his left arm firmly. Caleb screamed in pain as the serum coursed through his body. He convulsed slightly, his body lifted slightly before returning back to the mattress. At that moment, she released his arm and dabbed his forehead to remove the sweat from Caleb's forehead. She gathered more bandages and rebandaged Caleb's wounds.

"You should really get some rest, Caleb," the nurse said as she looked over at Ambrose. "Thank you for bringing him back here, he knows he's not fully healed yet, but when your status is so high here, I suppose it's not unnatural to want to keep up an image. I'll be back to check on you." She gave Caleb a worried look before departing. Caleb turned to Ambrose and tried to smile.

"Thank you," he said, "I guess I'm kinda hard headed huh?" He tried to laugh but it hurt to even try to do that, but he maintained a smile. "I want you to know Ambrose I never wanted you to hate me, and I never wanted to hurt you. I'm just a fool," Caleb said his face losing the smile. He looked away from Ambrose and towards the window. "I should've never dragged you into any of this. You know you're right, your life would've been better had you not met me during registration. Everything I touch, everything, turns to shit." Caleb grew silent. He didn't want to go down this road, but everything seemed to be pointing in that direction. "Now we have some psycho ass demon out to kill us. I'm sorry Ambrose, but I will keep my promise to you, I will train you, and I will protect you to the best of my ability, even if you hate me or never want to see my face, or whatever."

Ambrose shifted uneasily from side to side, trying his best to act nonchalant. Which was not going very well, but thankfully the nurse quickly shifted her attention from him to Caleb. At least she knew exactly what to do. Ambrose's face continued to burn red, especially as she stripped Caleb's shirt off.

Ambrose's eyes widened as he saw the infected wound, it looked almost as if it was pulsing, as if it was alive. Ambrose shuddered as he unconsciously leaned forward to get a closer view. He snapped back as Caleb opened his eyes slowly. "Y-you fainted in the hallway-" Ambrose flinched when he cried out in pain, "God! Try not to move until the nurse gets back." Which thankfully she did shortly after, Ambrose stepped back once again as he she did her job. But he was soon ordered back into action, and Ambrose inched closely and gripped Caleb's right arm tightly.

He cringed as Caleb screamed out in pain, unable to look at him, he squeezed his eyes shut. Ambrose kept his grip tight until it seemed the nurse gave the okay. He stepped back, wiping seat from his brow as he looked down at Caleb's tired body. It was hard to see the wounds the demon inflicted, and hard to see Caleb in such a pitiful state.

But he breathed a sigh of relief as everything seemed to calm down, and the nurse stepped out to give them some privacy. Ambrose made his way to the bedside, so Caleb wouldn't have to strain himself to be heard from across the room. Ambrose sighed lightly as he placed his hands onto the bedside railing, looking down at Caleb trying to put on a brave face. He listened silently to Caleb's confession, his face showing no emotion except a distinct coldness. Finally after Caleb finished, Ambrose spoke.

"You're right. A part of me blames you for this whole thing." Ambrose said bluntly, "But that's in the past now, there's no point torturing ourselves over what could have been. We just have to fix our goddamn mess now." Ambrose heaved another sigh and looked away from Caleb. "But I don't need an apology from you. Not anymore."

There wasn't much to say after that. Caleb tried more small talk but in the end, Ambrose was right, they needed to stop torturing themselves over what could have been. They needed to focus on the present and fixing the mistake that had cost a student their life. He was surprised by Ambrose's admittance to not needing an apology from him. Nonetheless, he noticed Ambrose's hand on the side railing. His hand moved, but when he realized what was going on, he retracted and pulled the blanket over his shirtless form. He had put everything on the table, and now he would move forward as best he could.

The day grew on and Caleb eventually found rest. After falling asleep he didn't know where Ambrose would go or anything. He slept for an entire day and a half and as the days passed Caleb healed more and more. It had been a week, there had been two more attacks since the last, but thankfully they weren't fatal. The creature was still sending a message. As strong as it was, the protection around the school seemed to weaken it, and it only operated quickly before retreating back to where it all began. The last attack the being left a message on the wall.

'Where it Began'

The Headmaster was furious, but he had entrusted them to get this job done. Sam felt horrible about the attacks, but thankfully she, and Ariana had managed to figure out what the creature was. She immediately called a meeting, and this time Alex would be there. Sam paced the floor of their secret meeting spot in the underground library. She waited and smiled when Alex appeared.

"Hey," she said.

"Hey, where's Caleb?" Alex asked with a worried look on his face. "Last time I saw him he looked pale."

"Really? I haven't seen him in a while, I think he's been resting and healing in the infirmary," Sam replied as Ariana walked in.

"Where is everyone?" She questioned.

"I sent the message, they'll be here soon," she replied. She was thankful they had finally figured out what they were up against, now would be the task of removing the obstacle in their path.

Caleb looked at his phone. He was nearly there, after a week he was 90 percent healed and he was forever grateful for the nursing staff and for his friends who sent their love in various ways. He was sitting on the edge of the bed dressed in casual clothing. Black fitted jeans accented with a turquoise belt. He wore a black tank top with turquoise around the arm bands and neck. He stood up, feeling good and looking good as well. Traveling in pairs was the deal they had made in order to stay safe and it had worked. Caleb found himself at Ambrose's door. It was early, around 8 am to be exact and he knocked gently on the door, hoping Morgan was asleep. There was a new vigor about Caleb that he couldn't explain.

Ambrose stayed by Caleb's bedside a little longer, watching quietly and even mumbling a few comforting words now and then. But Caleb was exhausted and as he drifted away, Ambrose dismissed himself from the room. He returned his dorm exhausted, even though the day had barely started. He plopped down on his side of the dorm bedroom, ignoring pestering questions from Morgan and plugging in his headphones. For the first time in weeks he felt inspired, starting a new painting. It was harsh, jagged lines and deep colors. It depicted a gruesome scene that made Ambrose quiver from within, but he didn't stop. Not even when it was late into the night and Morgan had shut off all the lights. He kept on painting.

The passing week was generally quiet for Ambrose actually. He was too focused on his studies to really worry about anything else at the moment. Even when he heard of the attacks, Ambrose shut it out of his thoughts as much as he could. Instead he was just grateful it wasn't him, and Ambrose was aware that was a selfish thought. But he didn't really care. Ambrose had even scheduled times to train with Caleb in the upcoming days, and hopefully they could figure what type of magic was Ambrose's niche.

The phone on his desk beeped loudly, and Ambrose knew immediately it was Sam calling another meeting. Ambrose groaned and leaned back in his chair, setting down his notes. "Goddamnit... I have a test tomorrow, I don't have time for this." He whined to himself as he pulled himself up to start getting ready to go. Morgan sat up in his bed from across the room, ears perking as he caught the words Ambrose grumbled to himself.

"What's going on?" Morgan poked, eyes following Ambrose as he slid on his jacket and shoes.

"Nothing. It doesn't concern you." Ambrose replied, not even bothering to glance back at his roommate. He was going through the group chats, catching up on the messages he missed. A knock rang out and Ambrose breathed a sigh of relief, rushing to the door.

"Caleb, I'm ready to go." He murmured quietly, hoping Morgan had lost interest. He tossed a glance back at his roommate, who seemed to have turned back over in his bed, sound asleep. Ambrose nodded and stepped out into the hallway, "Let's go." He said and started down towards the underground library with Caleb in tow.

But a few minutes after they had left, their dorm room door creaked open slowly. A blonde head peaked out, blue eyes glinting slyly. Silently, Morgan took off his targets, quiet as a mouse.

When Ambrose answered the door Caleb smiled and stepped back to allow Ambrose to move out of the room. He had looked back momentarily. Caleb figured he and Morgan had another exchanging of words. As soon as Ambrose said he was ready they took off down the hall. A left turn here and a right turn there led them to the area they'd be going on what to do. When they both stood in front of the door that led to the underground library, Caleb's senses were on high alert. He turned around looking in the direction he felt a slight presence, but there was no sign of anyone having followed, at least not for him. He sighed, blaming it on the slight anxiousness to get rid of the demon once and for all.

He opened the door for Ambrose to walk through and when he was in, Caleb walked through taking a moment to look behind them once more, still finding nothing.

"Caleb!" Ariana near shouted as she embraced him as soon as he stepped in the room. Sam smiled knowing how worried she'd been this entire time. She couldn't bring herself to pry Ariana off of him because the girl had worried herself near sick over Caleb.

"Ariana, let him breathe," Alex said as he approached Ambrose and Caleb. "You two alright?" He asked.

"I feel good," Caleb replied when Ariana released him from her embrace. She had a slight blush on his face and stepped away. "I missed you too Ariana," Caleb said as Alex held out his hand to shake.

"Don't leave me hanging bro," Alex said causing Caleb to smile as he shook Alex's hand, the two sharing a brother embrace while Alex whispered into Caleb's ear. Caleb looked at him after their embrace ended, but shook his head before turning his attention to Sam who had called this meeting.

"I'm sure we all want to know, what are we doing here? Your text was vague as hell," Caleb said causing Sam to smirk.

"I know what it is we accidentally summoned, it's a Leviathan, a creature that feeds on fear. The more fear it spreads, the more power it gains. This is why it attacks and leaves its victims to spread fear."

Caleb's eyes widened and Ariana shook her head while Alex just looked blankly at them all.

"How in the hell are we going to defeat a Leviathan? They're not exactly low-level demons you can banish with a simple spell," Alex said.

"We need the seven holy daggers, which means....," Caleb began but stopped.

"We have to leave campus," Sam finished for him. There was silence as each of them contemplated their next choice.

"What happens if we don't destroy it?" Ariana asked clearly nervous about the entire thing.

"If we don't destroy it will start amassing followers, brainwashing students here and there summoning low-level demons to possess until it has an army. Its job is to spread fear and destruction. If we don't do something it will be too late soon unless you all want to fight a legion," Caleb said moving to the far end of the room to sit down. This was not something he wanted to hear, but he was glad they knew what they were up against.

Ambrose walked by Caleb's side, absorbed in his thoughts. Truthfully, he wasn't sure their group could defeat this monster. Ambrose was still a novice to magic, and Caleb, who was powerful for his age was still defeated easily. He didn't understand why the headmaster would trust this job to a bunch of kids. Ambrose sighed heavily as he went over these thoughts. He entered the underground library , thanking Caleb for holding the door open. But he didn't really return his full attention to the outside world until Ariana called out Caleb's name, throwing her arms around him. But Ambrose's interest was spiked when Alex murmured something in Caleb's ear. He was tempted to ask, but it didn't seem appropriate.

Ambrose shared the same blank expression as Alex, he had of course heard the named Leviathan before, but not in the same context as the others. "So... Gathering from your faces, that's even worse then what we thought?" Ambrose said as he looked around the room.

"Way worse." Jeremy spoke up from Sam's side, wearing a grim expression. "We know where at least five of the daggers are...The others are still up in the air." He crossed his arms over his chest.

Ambrose shook his head and took a seat at a nearby table. "Are we certain this time? I don't think we could afford to be wrong again..." Ambrose shuddered, "Shouldn't we get the headmaster to help if it's that level of evil?" Ambrose said with a sigh of defeat.

Jeremy shook his head defiantly, "No. He trusted us with this, we can do this." He said stubbornly, looking around the room for reassurance.

The whole time they were discussing this, Morgan had stalking just outside. He could hear wisps of voices, and he had a hunch that this was shady business. He couldn't just walk in, not without some kind of help. After pausing to think for a moment, he whispered a chant to himself. His fingers danced as he did so, the movements in sync with the syllables he whispered. Once he was done, it seemed like he faded from view. Morgan wasn't completely invisible, but if anyone tried to look directly at him, they would feel a wave of confusion and lose sight of him. He was only really detectable from the corner of someone's eye. Like a ghost, Morgan slowly cracked the door open. Slipping inside silently as he took in the group. Morgan completely retreated to the back corner of the library to watch and listen.

"Jeremy is right, the headmaster trusted us to get this done and we will." Sam looked at each of them and shook her head. They were a ragtag bunch of college students who didn't know everything there was to know about magic. The only one strong enough in their group was Caleb and the monster had defeated him easily. Perhaps it had caught him off guard. Sam remembered Caleb telling her that he had managed to stand up to it, which only angered the Leviathan more. This time she was sure Caleb would have the strength. He'd been training in secret and she could tell by the look in his eyes as he sat on the sideline watching them all. That probably explained why his wounds had gotten infected.

"Then we will need to act fast. We will have to locate the five daggers we know the location of," Ariana stated as she walked over to the bookcase and pulled a large book from the shelf. She maneuvered her fingers causing a stone pillar to lift from the ground in the middle of the room. "Five daggers, six of us, that means we each will have to find one dagger before going after the final two. One of us will have an extra pair of hands."

Alex, Caleb, and Sam looked at each other before looking at Ambrose.

"Solo mission? No shade, but Ambrose isn't as strong in magic as we are. If he goes alone he might die. There are wards, beasts, things that protect the daggers, it's not like you waltz in and take it." Alex looked at them all.

"He's right," Caleb spoke up just as the door of the room opened and he turned his head towards it. He thought he saw something move out of the corner of his eye, but didn't think anything of it. The school was once thought to be haunted, and opening and slamming doors were a common thing at BlackBrick. Still, he couldn't help but feel a presence in the room with them. He crossed his arms across his chest and looked at Ambrose. "Ambrose has been training."

There was silence in the room as Alex looked from Caleb to Ambrose. He sighed and shook his head.

"Oh really? Well let's ask Ambrose then," Alex began, "Are you confident enough to slip off campus and go after one of the daggers? Because honestly, I don't think you are. I'd rather we go in groups."

"Ambrose is just as capable as any of us to go after one of the daggers," Caleb stepped in an intense look on his face, "but since you feel so concerned, He can tag along with me if he wants." It was becoming a common thing for Caleb and Ambrose to work together. Though Ambrose still had much to learn, Caleb had kept his promise to help him whenever he had free time over the week of healing. Everyone advised against training while he had been healing, but he wanted to help Ambrose as much as he could and he could see improvement.

Sam looked at Jeremy and smiled.

"If Ambrose is okay with it I see no reason why it can't be done that way," Sam said, "but as for the rest of us, we will need to be in constant communication with one another every hour on the hour. If we aren't able, we need to send some sort of signal when we are able. Does everyone know the communication spell? It allows you to send a holographic image of yourself to a person of your choice."

"It's a rather easy spell," Ariana chimed in, "but we should practice it before we leave. We need to leave as soon as possible."

Alex looked at Caleb and Ambrose before turning to Ariana and Sam. "Fine, let's get this over with, the sooner we get rid of the damn monster the better it will be."

Jeremy shook his head and followed Ariana to the bookshelf, running his fingers over the books he had spent the last weeks studying. He saw a flicker from the corner of his eye, and his head quickly snapped in the direction he saw it. But nothing seemed to be there, so he chalked up to nerves. Everyone was scared of leaving campus, unimaginable danger waited for them out there. Jeremy pulled out a couple books and a map, laying them out on the table in the middle of them. "Here is all we know," He gestured to the books sprawled on the wooden table, "and here are the locations." Jeremy pointed to the red dots sporadically marked on the map.

Ambrose stiffened as the subject turned to him, slouching down in mild embarrassment. Alex was right, he was the least experienced out of all of them. But a part of him wanted to stand up for himself, to be stubborn and insisting on going solo. Ambrose pulled himself up and off the chair he had been lounging on. "Yeah, whatever I get it." He said as he joined Caleb's side. "I'll just help out with Caleb." Ambrose sighed inwardly, hating to give in so easily. But it was for the best. There was no point in arguing for his case to go alone, and the pair made a good team anyways. "Let's just move on to what we need to do now."

"Uh right, I don't think I've learned that one yet." Ambrose said, glancing to Caleb for assistance.

Meanwhile, Morgan had been sitting in the corner, listening intently with wide eyes. His mind was racing, trying to connect the dots. Could this all have something to do with the massacre that taken place at the beginning of the school year? And the attacks that had happened since then? Morgan wrote everything he heard down into a small black journal. He suppressed a chuckle to himself, knowing if he made a peep, his cover would be blown. Everything was working out perfectly, and even better yet. Morgan happened to know the location of one the daggers.

Sam raised an eyebrow as she listened to Ambrose speak. She couldn't see any distaste for working with Caleb, or any sort of hostility between the two. Somewhere along the line, they must've patched things up. It made her smile, but she didn't focus on it for long as they had to get moving if they wanted to retrieve the daggers.

"Alright so Jeremy you will go to the Paris location, Ariana you'll handle California, I will go to the middle east, specifically Kazakhstan. That leaves the Amazon Rainforest and Asia."

"I'll take Asia," Alex chimed in looking over at Caleb who chuckled before shaking his head.

"Fine, Rainforest it is," he said looking at Ambrose wondering what was going through his mind. It was odd, but he couldn't help but feel another presence in the room, a familiar one. Earlier he thought he had seen something, but now it was as if his mind was telling him to open his eyes and look. Even still he shook off the feeling and sighed. "So are we ready?"

"Not yet, Ambrose, to perform the communication spell you utilize your ring finger and your pointer finger in conjunction while bending in the thumb, middle and pinky finger. Draw a circle with magical energy and voila, an instant communication link to whoever you want to contact. The bigger the circle the bigger the hologram." Ariana performed the movements as she spoke and the little red circle she produced cause a holographic image of her to appear in front of Ambrose. She then wiped away the circle and the hologram vanished.

"Thanks, Ariana," Caleb said. "I guess this is it. Please be careful you guys."

Sam smiled and Ariana nodded while Alex crossed his arms. The first to leave with a book in her hand was Sam. Each of the five daggers they knew the location of was represented by a single book on the table in the middle of the room. Ariana grabbed her book and was the second to leave. Alex unfolded his arms and walked to the center of the room and grabbed the book before leaving. This was a dangerous mission. It was hard to say if they would succeed at all. When Caleb and Ambrose were alone, Caleb looked at Ambrose.

"I want you to promise me if anything goes wrong you get out. Take the dagger and run. Got it?" Caleb asked, his expression serious yet soft. He had caused Ambrose enough grief. Maybe this was his reconciliation. If he died, it would be for the good of stopping the creature they had summoned.

Ambrose watched closely, clearly absorbing the information presented to him with an intense focus. He mimcked the hand gestures shown to him by Samantha before breaking out in a smile. It made sense, and Ambrose was reassured of his aptitude in magic. "Thanks Ariana," He murmured, patting her shyly on the shoulder. At first Ambrose was unsure of how to think of her, but he saw she had only the best intentions for all of them. She was simple, and she didn't play any mind games, which he greatly appreciated.

Jeremy nodded in response to Sam and picked up his backpack from the corner of the room, sighing loudly as he walked out of the underground library. He didn't notice the small surprised yelp, although it was barely audible. Morgan tucked himself up closer into the corner, hand covering his mouth. His heart pounding as his mind raced with the possibilities. With Caleb and the headmaster himself involved, everything transpiring became incredibly valuable. Morgan just needed to figure out how to maximize the profit.

For now, he would wait. Explore this forbidden part of the library, and plan on what he needed to say to snake his way into the group's inner circle. Morgan repositioned himself comfortably, this time tuning into the conversation taking place between Ambrose and Caleb. A smirk crossed his lips as he watched them silently.

Ambrose took another deep sigh as he thought of the task ahead of them. Fear shook through his body as memories of the demon's victims flashed through his head. He just hoped none of the other members of their little group would up like that. It was incredibly dangerous, but this was their only option now. Ambrose could recognize that, but it still felt wrong. "Wha-?" Ambrose glanced at Caleb, his train of thought interrupted. He swallowed thickly as an image of Caleb's torn up body appeared before him, it was awful how likely that outcome would be. "R-right," Ambrose regained his composure, glancing away as he approached a table. "I mean if it comes to that, I'm probably already dead." Ambrose said, like a true pessimist. "But, yeah, I get your point, I'll do whatever I can." Ambrose smiled weakly, feeling a bit sick to his stomach. "Let's just get this over with, would you lead the way?" Ambrose asked as he stepped closely to Caleb, placing a soft touch to Caleb's forearm.

Caleb exhaled as he listened to Ambrose. He knew it was hard for Ambrose to accept that Caleb still cared about him, they still hadn't known each other long enough for any deep feelings to develop, but it had been a few months since their first encounter, and the kissed they shared, followed by rejection, disappointment, and unpredictability. There was no doubt that any type of relationship could form after such a horrible start. Caleb had blocked it in his mind after a long internal struggle. He realized it was for the best. Perhaps they could be friends. Friendship was a good start for rebuilding what emotions destroyed between them. He blinked realizing he had been in deep thought while Ambrose was talking. There was a moment of anticipation as Caleb walked over to the table and grabbed the final book.

"You ready?" He asked Ambrose before opening the book. "Divine Spirit of the East, come now, grant us traveling mercy to the Amazon Rainforest."

Calling upon his inner power, Caleb spoke the words and watched as energy began to shift and change in the room. In a blink of an eye, their surroundings changed from inside a library to trees as far as the eye could see. They were in the rainforest, and it was raining. Caleb tucked the book in the messenger bag that appeared on his shoulder. He looked at Ambrose and winked.

"First date not so bad huh?" He playfully said as he closed his eyes for a moment, getting the feel of the noises within the rainforest. He could hear frogs, loud insects and growling in the distance. No doubt their entry into the rainforest was unnoticed. "We better get moving if we want to cover ground before nightfall," Caleb suggested his eyes still closed. It was as if he were waiting on something. Then it happened. He felt it. There was a pull in his inner power, and his eyes flung open. Without a word he started moving in the direction he felt the faint magical energy. It was quite a distance off. A day or two journey, but he knew it would be worth it to finally get rid of that monstrosity. He looked back at Ambrose as he moved through the thick rainforest. "Stay close and keep your eyes peeled. There's more than just animals to watch out for out here. Just so you know all the legends are true. Creatures of myth and lore do exist and won't take kindly to us coming in unannounced. So just watch yourself, please."

Ambrose gulped as he gripped tighter, the scenery shifting and twisting to an entirely new environment. He flinched when he felt the first raindrops pour onto his head, yelping, he stepped underneath a nearby tree. "I probably should have expected this." He said as he peered back at Caleb, who didn't seem to mind the weather at all.

But Ambrose couldn't mind it much, the rain forest was breath-taking. It was vast, seemingly endless, and nothing like anything Ambrose had ever seen before. He appreciated it even more considering how long he had been stuck on campus.

Ambrose snorted in response, "Ha. Ha. Such a nice date, almost makes me forget that an evil demon is after us." Ambrose said sarcastically, stepping out from underneath cover and following in Caleb's footsteps. His head was lowered, concentrating on not tripping on any vines or roots. "A couple days? Do we even have supplies for that." He asked with concern, glancing around them. His eyes widened when Caleb mentioned creatures of lore, of course he should have expected that. But still, it made him uneasy. "Right. Got it."

He muttered an incantation to himself, fingers interlocking. Above the pair, the rain stopped pouring on them. As if an invisible barrier appeared over them, the rain stopped and slid off the sides. "Here." Ambrose grinned at his handy work, "I didn't actually think I would have to use this when I learned it..." He trailed off when he heard a nearby rustling, instantly he was on high alert, eyes widened in terror and teeth clenched tightly.

As they walked, Caleb kept checking on Ambrose to make sure he was alright. When Ambrose performed a spell that acted as a barrier between them and the rain, Caleb raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Look at you," Caleb said still smiling, "I'm impressed," he added as he heard the rustling and turned his attention to their surroundings. He had to be careful and make sure that everything went well, otherwise, he'd have to fight and he really didn't want to have to do that in front of Ambrose. It's one thing to get caught off guard like he had been when the Leviathan attacked him, but he had focused and trained after that and learned so new deadlier techniques.

"Stay close Ambrose," Caleb said as he remembered a question Ambrose asked earlier that he never addressed. "Oh, and not need to worry about supplies..," he began as he patted the messenger bag that rested on his right side. "This baby is enchanted to hold whatever I need. I just need to find us a clearing so we can set up."

The rustling had him on edge, but he continued on checking with Ambrose every so often to make sure nothing had snatched him. As they moved, they entered into a small clearing surrounded by the forest. "Alright, I guess this will do. Besides its best not to traverse the forest at night, too many things can happen," Caleb said as he began pulling stuff out of the messenger bag. He pulled a full-size tent out of the small bag, as well as two sleeping bags. "Alright, do you know the protection charm? Or would you rather start on the tent?"

He picked his way gingerly through the underbrush of the rain forest. Ambrose almost looked delicate in this situation, as if he didn't no how to hold himself in such an environment. Which was true, as he had only lived in suburban or urban areas. He had never even been camping before. Even under these circumstances, he was a little excited to get the experience. Unfortunately, his mind was still too focused on the rustling from earlier to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

A deep blush graced Ambrose's brown skin at Caleb's compliment. "O-oh, thanks." A nervous laugh poured from his mouth, "You're not the only who has been practicing." And that was very true, Ambrose was nearly tireless in his studies. Although still a novice compared to his others in the group, his progress was astonishing.

He inched a bit closer to Caleb at his request, "Right." He nodded as he tossed another paranoid glance over his shoulder. "Hopefully we won't encounter anything tonight at least..." He murmured as he tried to peer deeper into the trees. He couldn't help but feel eyes on the two of them. And he couldn't tell if it was just anxiety or he was actually onto something.

Ambrose breathed a sigh of relief once they finally reached a clearing, happy to stop walking around for a while. He stared at the marvels of the bag, even though he should probably be used to such magic by now, it was still amazing in his eyes. "Uh, I think I know the charm. I have no idea how to work tents though." He admitted as he stepped to the center of the clearing. Ambrose tapped his chin as he thought for a moment before his fingers interlocked, a deep chant mumbled under his breath. Ambrose cursed as nothing happened, "Wait, uh, I think I know what I did wrong." He said, trying to hide his embarrassment. Starting from the beginning, at the end of the incantation, a light shot from his fingers before disappearing. But this time the energy from the protection could be felt around them. "Phew. There we go." Ambrose smiled widely as he took a seat on the grass.
