As Jeff was sent flying, he could feel a swift pain in his abdomen from where Mikey struck him along with the feeling of his arcane network being slightly messed with along his right leg area, making it harder for him to do a spin to whirl the wind up and catch himself back into balance. Jeff couldn't help but clench his teeth from the pain though that didn't stop him from noticing that this situation left Mikey in a spot where there was very high potential for everyone to work together to land a crucial blow on him. With Jenso attacking from bellow and Oz shifting the gravity into reverse along with opening the 2 acceleration gates by him and Jenso, things fell into place.

During his recovery in the air, Jeff had begun to gather nanobots onto both of his hands one which over the time of recovering took the form of a sharp blade with a glowing blue center which covered his hand and grapple gauntlet while the other remain clumped into a ball in his left. Being use to these kinds of gravity shifts from his previous battle, The scientist remained relatively unaffected from it as he clenched his teeth once more and prepared both of his legs and left arm to do simultaneous wind burst to launch himself through the gate in a full speed burst towards Mikey.

As he launched himself through the gate, a sharp pain could be felt through Jeff's body, but the wind sage did his best to shift his mind away from it by putting all of his focus on Mikey as he flew towards him with a speed that would rival his sage mode. Using said speed, Jeff timed to launch an impaling blade strike covered in sharp wind ki that would hit Mikey just after he would have reacted to blocking or avoiding Jenso's Ki shockwave.

If he was to somehow dodge his attack, Jeff's countermeasures were ready with him ready to fling a ball of nanos right as he passed which would spread out and scatter around him while sending out paralyzing bursts of electricity. This would shut the nanobots down for a short while, but in this case it was worth it.
The scientist also prepared in case he was able to block as well, building up extra wind in his left hand to form a wind drill which he would make able to counter whatever was used to block the blade attack. Jeff was ready this time and wasn't gonna miss his chance at whatever the cost.

Mikey's body shifted against the shockwave that Jenso sent towards him, and he quickly began to fall towards the roof, as Oz changed the orientation of up and down. Part of him was irritated as his eyes set on Jeff. The inventor looked as if he was preparing several attacks at once.

Mikey clenched his fists, putting every shred of effort into dealing with Jeff's next attack. With one of Jeff's legs offset by his earlier attack sealing a portion of his arcane network, his wind-burst couldn't send him in a completely straight line. But the distance between them made the veer almost negligible. Well, negligible to a normal person, anyways. Mikey landed on the roof just before Jeff came into range to strike him, landing on his feet, and swinging his right arm around towards Jeff's blade while coated in another sea-serpent-strike. A fierce determination flashed in the boy's eyes as his Arki-coated attacked crashed against the back edge of Jeff's blade, while only the tip was allowed to embed itself in his left shoulder due to Mikey's interference. Of course he wasn't fast enough. Oz's point-blank momentum gate made sure of that. But Mikey wasn't a pushover either. Mikey changed the flow of energy in his attack, and the result exploded outwards, Launched both Mikey and Jeff in opposite directions across the roof. Jeff went through the momentum gate once again, while Mikey tumbled onto his side, eventually raising back onto one knee. The result of the two attacks colliding left the nano bots that made of Jeff's sword, apparently destroyed, and mixed into a watery blue substance where the explosion occurred. Mikey glared at the explosion site. "It.. Exploded?" He grunted. Mikey then shrugged of the thought and waved to Oz. "Let us down!" he shouted, pointing at his shoulder, "You got it!"

~ Chapter 148 ~

A Strategic Review

After Oz restored the gravity and everyone was allowed to group up, Mikey and Luke stood before the three trumps confidently. Neither of them seemed especially impressed with how they performed.

"I'd like to say good job," Mikey started, "But that was uh... That was extremely sloppy." Luke hesitated before nodding, one hand rising to scratch the back of his head. Mikey glanced at the ground between them, where the goopy blue slop that used to be Jeff's nano-bots was not sitting. "I'll make a long story short and leave the rest to Luke. You never once changed your attack style. Not one of you. That made it extremely easy for me to dodge and block everything you threw at me. Oz was the only one who didn't dedicate himself to a constant stream of aggression. That's why I ignored him for the most part. I have to acknowledge that he was making me rather cautious. And, Jeff, that clone ability was very clever. But I tore it apart in a manner of seconds. If you'd used it more efficiently, and carefully, you may have been able to completely corner me with it. But, you and Jenso, once again, had dedicated yourself to a purely offensive style." Mikey clenched his shoulder. "I was willing to take a hit to teach you a lesson, here, Jeff. If I didn't hold back on that attack that struck you, you'd likely be incapacitated from the waist down for a fully day, without the aid of Alvios." He stopped and looked down at his destroyed nano bots. "It was a good fight, though. Good fight.." Luke stepped in and pushed Mikey aside slowly.

"Go get that checked out, you 'aint Jenso," He insisted. Mikey nodded and began walking off the platform, clutching his shoulder. Luke glared at the three trumps and sighed. "Before anything, can any of you tell me how many times Mikey changed his attack style during that fight? And what styles he 'was usin'?"

Jenso smiled as Jeff managed to strike Mikey. At last, they managed to land a hit on him. He sighed deeply, remaining silent until Mikey had finished his statement and walked off. He turned to Luke as he spoke. "He started out with Reflex style, went to withdrawal when he made the Battle Bubble, went into Reflex when it popped, and then went into Force when he attacked with his Sea Serpent strike and when he struck Jeff, and back into Reflex when Jeff struck him." Jenso spoke to Luke, not entirely sure of his own words. He looked over to Jeff afterwards, in order to see if he was okay after being sent flying.

Jeff sighed as he couldnt help but stare at the pile of goop that use to be 1/3 of his nanoblade. He knew there be some risks to using it without thw sage wind ki backing up thr sharpness, but he couldn't say he expected it to explode. At the very least his arm remained fine as the grapple gaunted shielded his hand from the worst of the explosion, leaving him with his pride being wounded for the 10th time this week. As for the battle he was still very new to use most of the techniques used and knew he was bound to be very sloppy with them, though still found it in his best interest to use them as he knew Mikey wouldn't have expected there use.
Truth be told, the more of these fights occured, the more he couldn't help but feel like all of this was going to be pointless, no mater what he created or new move he devolped he still seemed to always mess up in some way and got hit for it. If he couldn't even dodge something like this, how was he going to be able to take down any of the chaos members, let alone Rajaka. He tried hard to hide his worries under a long line of false confidence, but it was slowly fading.

Once again Jeff said nothing as he was not sure what to say or mention in this case. Thus the scientist just rambled on and on in his head about his various increasing worries.

Luke nodded slowly. "Close enough, Jenso," He said with a light smile. He looked over at Jeff for a moment and sighed. The battle seemed to be affecting him negatively. The man had an issue with his confidence, and hid behind his boastful demeanour, most of the time. At least, it seemed that way. Luke nodded again. "But, why didn't you listen? You seemed intent on cornering him, but it became obvious very quickly that Mikey's phenomenal agility wasn't going to let him get cornered by straight forward attacks. You should have read the fight and reacted accordingly. There were some points in the fight were you pulled off some really good combinations and techniques, but never tried a new style of attack, the styles I taught you. Mikey couldn't fight back, that much was true, but he could take advantage of your attack lag pretty efficiently, and was looking for an opening that entire fight to end one of you in a single strike." Luke paused and shrugged. "Truth is, you didn't do a bad job. Not as bad as Mikey makes it seem. But against the Order, you'll need to be perfect. Dedicating yourself to one style will get you killed pretty quickly. Mikey is frustrated. We're on day 4 of 7, and the amount of progress being made seems relatively minimal, to him. Just... Try to understand his perspective. Don't take it personally."

"You'll all be getting training specific to where you're lacking, but for now..." Luke pointed to Jenso.

"Jenso, don't rely on force style. You need to learn patience. You need to stand back, and analyse, more often. If you don't use your mind, you'll never stand a chance against the Order."

"Jeff, use your techniques differently. You have a great deal of control. Lay traps, use your clones, keep moving, and never put yourself into a position where you'll be hit."

"Oz... Well, I don't have much to say about you. You acted and reacted pretty efficiently in that fight. But you also made a crucial mistake that gave Mikey a sudden, massive advantage."

"I realized after that attack that I could have done just the opposite and completely negated his attack. Unfortunately in the heat of the moment I wasn't thinking far enough ahead. I should have expected it to happen." Oz responded to the remark. He knew exactly what mistake was being referenced and didn't have the dumb pride to try fighting for it as anything but a fool's error. "Next time an attack like that occurs I'll try deflecting it without putting myself and the rest in danger. To think if that was one of Ada's weird attacks it could have cost us everything. Note: Don't spread an enemy's element on the area you fight."

Oz turned to face Jenso. If that was a fight at full strength it would have been far more taxing than it had been but the man seemed alright now. "I get the feeling that the three of us are best suited toward differing roles in a fight but we weren't quite fulfilling that the way we should have been. Jenso, Jeff, I'd say think about what you would do if you put yourself in a different fighting position. You guys were great with your offensive power but the biggest thing I think Luke and Mikey would chastise you on is that you telegraph everything you do. You're an open book, easy to read and if you keep up the same tactic for too long without succeeding then you become predictable. Admittedly I'm in the same boat in a lot of cases. I'm not as fast as you guys so I'm forced to rely on blocking and deflecting attacks to keep up with more hostile, quick opponents. If something is currently beyond you, think of what you already have and how you can creatively use it." The people gathered together already had great power, they just needed to master what they had and make one more hurdle. "Zelriane, as an example to you Jeff, is insanely fast. He makes himself completely unpredictable. He gets in close, stays at range, avoids everything. At some point in fighting him you realize he's trying to make himself unhittable so that he can wittle his opponent down. You don't know what he's going to do so he always has the element on his side. In a fight like we had with Mikey I'd say don't be as eager to press attacks like Jenso who has always been focused on forward attacks. You need to flow and be free to act like the element that is your namesake. It's everywhere at once but its true danger doesn't make itself apparent until it's too late to act. You make yourself an annoyance, you could be offensive but never trade defense for offense even if it looks like the opportunity is open. When you fought me you did very well at keeping your distance, even countering my efforts to control you. Play keep away and when the enemy focuses on another then you strike. It will keep them forced on the defensive and open to a real attack from Jenso or another heavy hitter." He commented.

"As for Jenso.. in this case you should be less like your own element." Oz smiled. The idea was entertaining. "Fire is aggressive. And predictable. Yet while it is predictable its power is constant and reliable. You do indeed make the best forward strike. The thing is that our enemies also know that. What would be more surprising? Jenso rushing forward with his signature punch or standing back and preparing for something that the enemy is unfamiliar with? Don't be like a forest fire bro, you'll run out of wood to burn pressing forward that hard. Think of yourself as a directable furnace, a well of concentrated fire rather than a wild one. Here's an example, if you press forward against an opponent that dodges or forces all your attacks into glancing hits then it would be time to change up. Instead of forcing yourself on them make your own opportunity to open them up. Maybe feign attacks at them with the expectation that they'll dodge just so you can keep them on edge and fill the combat area with your own element. Then, if you have that kind of control you can use the fire already burning on the arena as an uncounterable ally. It's your element just think ahead when you get the time." He concluded the thought for Jenso.

"Now that I've lectured you two I think it's proper and fair to share what I've been thinking about. The Order's tower will likely have no space for me to use my strongest abilities so I've been working hard to overcome that. Atlas as you can imagine is a huge depiction of power. To fit that in a hallway that may be no more than eight feet tall would be impossible so I've been working on condensing and downsizing it. It's hard as hell right now but I think it will work the way I want it to by the end of the week. I've also been working on more elaborate shapes for shields as I demonstrated with that funnel. I realized that I might be most useful as the center of attention or as a controller. He looked down for a second, Oz was one whose heart was always apparent. He looked hesitant but spoke up after a drawn moment anyways. "I can crank up gravity to dangerous, even fatal levels. I've used it to train my own body in the past. I'm not much of a killer though so I've never tried to crush something to death. The thought of doing so has definitely occurred to me but it is abhorrent." He looked at the expressions of his companions carefully. "Still, this is war for the fate of the entire world. I will have to reckon with such actions later. We share the combined responsibility over the lives of all people in our fight. We can't hold any tactic or idea back. Failing this there will never BE anything ever again here."

Jenso nodded at Luke and Oz's words. "I guess so...Mikey didn't exactly pay much attention to me, though. And honestly, he didn't need too. His water can counter my flames pretty easily, and he knew most of my abilities. I don't see the point of moving around or waiting for Mikey to come, when there were three of us. We had the advantage in numbers that would allow us to overwhelm him, and I don't have the capabilities to set up traps or whatnot. Feigning attacks could have possibly distracted Mikey, yes, but I was already on a big disadvantage since Mikey knew most of my skills compared to Oz and Jeff. Especially in my base form." Jenso stated, letting out a deep sigh. "Hence why he'd just use the momentum of my close ranged attacks to his advantage."

"It's not that I don't get where you're coming from. The enemy will be aware of my usual fighting style too, which makes it predictable. Jeff's stationary wind scythe ability isn't a bad idea, I think I might be able to achieve something like that with my flame wave...among other things. His clone technique was really smart too. Setting up traps could really be useful for me, despite that I don't have enough control to move flames that have been scattered across a battlefield. I wil definitely work on that, though, and I've been training on changing the composition of my Arki too." Jenso said. "I'm going to do my best to be less predictable from now on, because it might just get me killed." Jenso admitted, agreeing with Oz.

"Oz, you were great at defence during that fight and providing support for me and Jeff's techniques to land on Mikey. Those really helped out, and it's the reason why we managed to hit him in the first place. However, it felt like your own offensive abilities were lacking. Mikey didn't know much about you at all, which could have allowed you to land a heavy hit. Turning up the gravity to kill a person is one thing, but keep in mind that the Order isn't just going to stand still. Relying on your shield in hopes that it will block everything can also be dangerous...but it also buys you time to charge things up while your enemies try to damage you. It does seem like a gamble though, when you might not know how strong your opponent's attack might be. Despite the fact that your shields are incredibly powerful."

With that, Jenso turned to Jeff. "I do agree with Oz here...you probably could have set more traps with wind and waited for Mikey's move rather than going into the offensive yourself. I kinda make the same mistake though, despite that Mikey never specifically targetted me. You have a lot of control of wind, which can allow you to completely upset your foes' balance and hit them from multiple angles."

Luke was about to step in and reflect on his student's thoughts, but before he could, something began to stir. His mouth froze while open, and he tilted his head downwards to a series of gentle bubbling noises. The last word to escape his mouth was 'what'

"Bl..Bloo..Bleep..Bee..Bahh..Bah, ba ba ba...Zzzz, Boot!" The little glob of blue goop began to make a series of noises, similar to speech. And then, out of nowhere, it grew a pair of two, shadowy eyes within its goopy mass, looking up at the four men with a hint of innocence and fear.

"...Blup?"

A New... Ally?

The small blue goo... Thing, sat in the middle of the war table, and moved around inspecting every single member of Mikey's team carefully, with its pair of blinking eyes. Mikey looked down at it in astonishment. He called the meeting to discuss the final steps of training, as well as to address the uh... Blop in the room. It approached Mikey, finally, and looked up at him from a few feet away.

"...Can I help you, little guy?" Mikey asked.

"Blup," It responded. Mike face palmed.

"Jeff, what the hell happened to your nano bots?" He asked, irritated and confused. Before Jeff had a chance to respond, the little blob spoke in his place.

"Biomechanical Life, created by a sudden surge of Arki that found shelter in these strange creatures. Bluh.. Capable of processing fifteen Quintilian Yottabytes of information in four seconds. Purpose, scan and react, split and communicate, bluh.. babababa! Bee... Put order to data. Blup!" Mikey looked down at the little creature in surprise.

Jenso stared at the strange blue creature in surprise. Was this the result of Mikey and Jeff's clash? He peered closer to the creature and blinked at it. "Uh...Blup..?" Jenso cried out, waving over at the blue goo thing to greet him. "Nice to meet ya buddy!" He added with a smirk. The creature did not seem to have any hostile intentions. He paused for a moment. "Uh...I think you have Jeff and Mikey to thank for giving you life!"

"Affirmative," The creature sputtered, "A freak accident! Bluh.. I exist only to serve the wishes of mister Mikey, and all of-Bababoo.. You!" Mikey blinked at the small blob and tilted his head sideways. He was still taken aback a bit by the situation. Did this make him a... Father?

"Jeff, uh... Any thoughts?" Mikey asked as Blup glared at him quietly.

Jeff overall was speechless for a good chunk of the moment. He was entirely caught off guard from this due to him spending his last few moments trying his best to explain the training situation and his opinion on it and especially didn't think his and Mikey's arcane clash would bring his nanos to life as a puddle. For several momwnts Jeff stared wide eyed at the acidential creation of Mikey and him, trying his best to analyze this entire thing. Finally though, Mikeys question brought him back to reality once more where he finally spoke back
"A mixture of mine and Mikeys arcane power along with enchanted nanobots... I knew the process could have side effects but nothing like this... I really would want to reasearch into this more, but I wonder if I have the time with everything that is going on right now."

"Bluh, will not allow Jeff to study me, or any others for.. Baba.. Any reason! Blup! I am fully capable of answering questions!" Mikey shrugged immediately. "Mikey! Mikey! Blahh..Bluh, Chances of my creation, 1 in 4'890'231'432'123'040. Your luck was fortunate! I will be a great asset for everyone! Blup!"

"I assume you have a name?.." Luke asked, from the edge of the war table. The little creature turned around and moved towards him slowly, like a little slug

"Blup? No. I exist by chance, and only to serve Mikey!" Blup blooped.

"You sure like to say that a lot.. Jenso, I think it's good, don't you?" Mikey said, nodding, "We'll call you Blup."

"Blup!" Ross called out, slamming his fist against his palm. "Excellent name!"

"This may change things. Before I address the rest of today's agenda, Blup, what can you do, exactly?" Mikey asked. The little blob of opaque glowing goop moved back towards him and nodded its eyes.

"Analysis of arcane energy, and Ki! Deconstruction of attacks! Body split, up to 5 of myself! Communication between copies, up to 20 kilometers! Strategic processing, almost as efficient as your own, Blaaa, beee.. And I can mass produce new nano-bots to keep my body alive, up to the size you see currently!" Mikey smiled and nodded.

"I'll address Blup's presence tomorrow. For now, he is to be treated as an ally."

"Blup!"

"Now, our agenda. Today will be strictly for individual training. Each of your will be meeting with one of us to hone your skill and review your progress," Mikey announced, "Jenso, you'll be with me. Jeff, you are to train with Luke. Bruce, you and Ross shall be together. And Oz, Geode has been tasked with addressing your... Precious Ki, as he put it earlier." Mikey scratched his head. "We'll be going over everything, specifics, mostly. New magical usage, strategies, individual proficiency over teamwork. Any questions?" As Mikey waited, Blup began dividing himself into several smaller versions of himself, and guiding each tiny blob towards each person.

"I will monitor everything you do, for Mikey! And for future analysis! Blup! Pleased to meet you!" His clones said in unison.

Jenso nodded at Mikey. "I understand, man! I've been training to change the composition of my attacks and gain more control, so learning more about that would be really useful." He stated, turning to one of the blobs. "Good to have ya Blup! Mikey already mentioned my name, but to avoid confusion...I'm Jenso!" He shouted cheerfully.

"Thats.. fair.. given when I meant study, I mostly meant questions anyway because I'm not one to be cruel or any-" Jeff begins to say concerning his question of studying him before the realization hits him. "WAIT, WHY JUST MIKEY?! Shouldn't it be one of those 50-50 things cause we both played equal part in this?"

Jeff couldn't help that somehow he got the short end of the stick from this whole crazy situation, though at this point he felt he should be use to this.
"Ah, whatever. Yeah, I'm ready for the training whenever you are Luke." Jeff responded back to Luke knowing he didn't really have too much time to argue it right now. He still couldn't help but feel that he was still the weakest of the heroes and that there was this large gap between them which he needed to close in before the impending doom was to hit them all.

Bruce's Midterm

Ross was waiting in the battle arena that Bruce and Mikey fought in a while back, stretching thoroughly while he awaited Bruce's arrival.

Bruce walked into the arena, absently humming a tune, occasionally off-key, as though he was struggling to remember a specific song. He didn't seem unfocused, though his presence had changed in subtle ways. A small smile, anxious and anticipating, appeared on his face once he noticed Ross. Bruce didn't bother with his typical means of introduction, remembering that Ross was not unlike himself- he wanted to avoid unnecessary distractions.
"What's next?" Bruce asked.

"Mikey's got us on a strict new regimen specifically adapting to each of you," Ross started out, sounding a little tense, "Looks like he's trying to target everyone's weaknesses, with Blup's help." The massive man pointed up at his head, where the tiny blob of blue goop was nestled carefully above his left ear. High pitched and happy, both the Blup on Ross' head, and the one on Bruce's, spoke in unison.

"Blup!"

Quite detailed analysis, as usual.

"We're gonna fight, and I'm gonna see what I can do to help you out. Blup's gonna help in that department too. But, to be clear, we're limiting ourselves to a certain extent, here. I brought ya to the terrain arena so that we don't end up crushin' the courtyard. Jeff set it to an earthly theme for us too." Ross summoned his blade and nodded. "First step's pretty simple, I don't think I need'ta tell ya much there!"
