Every year a televised spectacle like no other is held.

A competition that every viewer awaits with anticipation.

The Genesis Game.

A televised contest where every bioweaponry lab in the nation submits their greatest experimental subject to a series of trials, battles and dangerous games with view to finding the greatest among them. The strongest, smartest, most impressive creation. The creators of the winning subject will receive the military's contract for the year, and the winning subject receives fame, fortune and adoration...if not their freedom.


Various bioweapon laboratories have sent their greatest creations to compete in The Genesis Game, and at the cutting edge of biological and genetic manipulation, you will see a diverse set of traits among the competitors. Human-animal hybrids, vast enhanced biological attributes to the point that they resemble superpowers, cybernetic implantation... the list goes on. Some of the subjects were created by the companies from nothing at all, some were human once, a long time ago. Some are entirely comfortable in their role as a supercharged freak of nature, some hate, resent, and fear their treatment and their place in the world.

Regardless of any of these factors, all of them have been brought to Genesis 1, the complex that will serve as an arena for the spectacle. In between games they will have to live together and co-exist. Perhaps grow friendships or relationships... though perhaps not so much as to get too close.. who knows who they might be made to fight next, after all?



The Game takes place over several weeks with many different rounds that test the contestants' attributes in every way. From speed, to strength, to combat prowess, to psychological strength. The system studies them and their behaviour and calculates the best way to put them under pressure. With each event competitors are ranked and awarded points based upon it. The one with the most points at the end of the final event will be declared the winner.

It s not an event that wishes to see all but its winner die. However it is also not one that will actively try and prevent deaths. If a contender is killed in an event...well it drives up TV ratings.. and there are always more contestants.

Though that isn't the only thing for the contestants to be scared about. After all, the whole purpose is to find the greatest of the experiments... so if they do not win it would be easy to write them off as...failed. And nothing good happens to a failed experiment.



The Genesis 1 complex, sat within the industrial district of a large city. Is created in an agreement between the military and the media company Optik, broadcaster of the Genesis Game. As such the whole thing is blisteringly high tech. It's a large, extensive complex that extends below the ground for some distance. The System within is able to replicate all kinds of situations and terrains.

That is, no-one has any idea what to expect.



Hi there! This is what I have currently in mind for The Genesis Game, an RP about bioweapons on a gameshow, haha.

The general idea is to take this sort of loose framework and use it to make something kinda character driven and fun that focuses on both these characters being in a harsh environment, but also having to kinda co-exist together. You could also take a bunch of subplots from that too if you wanted to.

Contestants that do not want to be there and want to break out, maybe groups against the government trying to infiltrate the game, tensions between companies, what the nature of the 'system' that runs it is... heaps of fun possibilities. Along with the fun of all the crazy characters being cooped up together and all the fights, fall-outs and shipping that arises.

Hellebore

Name: Experiment #1728
Age: She herself has lost count. However, her files suggest she's estimated to be about 22.
Gender: Female
Alterations: Aside from her jet black skin, Hellebore's entire face is a conglomeration of petals.
Height: 6'10" | Weight: 110lbs

Description: Given her bizarre appearance, what with her black skin, gangling body and lack of human resemblance, Hellebore has an—almost obsessive—habit of covering her face up. Her favorite item thus far is a paper bag since she can always replace it and draw on it with a marker, often imitating human expressions to fit her mood.
Additionally, Hellebore will always be seen wearing dresses simply because of how easy it allows her to move about and use her long limbs to her advantage. Her default is her elongated arms, which crack with every little movement that she makes. Her movements are awkward, almost as if she isn't the one in control of her own body.

Personality: Hellebore's easily influenced. Having lived all of her life under laboratory conditions, she is conditioned to follow all and every instruction. She tries to please and will never object to something that's been requested of her. Hellebore, not having interacted with anyone but lab staff, horribly fails at social interactions which is in part due to the fact that she rarely speaks and has very limited vocabulary (reflects what she's heard at the institution).
Despite what her personality suggests, Hellebore is analytical and is able to think for herself if the situation deems it. However, she very rarely follows her gut feeling if she believes it would go against what has been asked of her. That being said, Hellebore has no moral compass whatsoever; she sees no right or wrong, she just acts.

Skills: Hellebore's main and only skill is her poisonous disposition. Hellebore was one of the few successive attempts at integrating poisonous plants and their unique properties (to some extent). Her title is actually based on the flower's whose properties were infused with her over time.
Hellebore's full face is a mass of black-purple petals; these petals are usually closed off, but when in full bloom, she is able to disperse poisonous spores into the air. Albeit slow, if inhaled these spores will immediately onset the following symptoms: stupor, burning of eyes, mouth and throat (and swelling in those more susceptible to allegies), vomiting, feeling of suffocation, and finally (after long exposure) collapse and cardiac arrest.

Weaknesses: Unfortunately, Hellebore isn't able to use her ability for as long as she wishes and would often she tries to avoid using it at all, choosing to use her long limbs as an alternative. This is all because, even though she was successfully fused, her power poses a huge risk. The longer Hellebore releases her spores, the more prone she is to a fungal disease that eats up at her slowly. It starts off as brownish ring-like spots that grow larger as the disease progresses. They grow until they infect the whole petal to the point of causing it to wilt and proceeds to spread onto the whole body.
The most effective method to stop it completely is to remove and destroy the infected leaves. Otherwise she is to refrain from using her powers until the rings slowly diminish. The last time she overused her ability(during a simulated experiment), she had to stop using her ability for a full year before her last brown ring disappeared. Shortest cool off time was a month; but she has not exact hold on her limits.


Brief History: Hellebore does not know where she came from, who her parents could've been or who she was before she arrived at the lab. Her first memories are of the laboratory and its practical walls. As of what she's heard from gossip from the various assistants, Hellebore was abandoned as a baby in a nearby garbage dump with no relatives in sight.

Other: Hellebore can unintentionally be self-deprecating with her way of speech. Often referring herself as trash, freaking abortion, or the classic—monster. She doesn't necessarily understand the meaning (vaguely knows the intention behind it) but has grown up hearing those words used to describe her so that's how she sees them, synonymous to her.

She's precious! That's a yes for Hellebore!

Personality: Despite his appearance Kei is a very quiet observant kid who thinks before he speaks. Usually the tone he uses is very monotone and quick. He speaks short-worded sentences from the lack of knowledge and shows a quick crooked smile. As he has trouble expressing himself and using the right words to describe certain things. To that extent he will point at things he cant find the right word to place.

Alterations:
- Sickly pale skin
- At first glance you'd think he's a walking corpse.
- He looks as if he should already been dead.

Description: Kei is strikingly thin, so much that the outline of his collarbones pop out. So much that he would break down in pieces whenever the wind blew down too harshly. He wore a messy white puff of hair with small outlines of light brown. Although the brown highlights can barely be seen because the white overrules it. The skin of his is sickly pale white, dressed with extreme scars and band-aids. Kei is not shown to be wearing much due to his abilities. He is most likely seen wearing a big, over-sized sleeved sweater with small shorts. the droopy eyelids of his lost the spark that it once had. It was like staring at the dead eyes of a corpse, completely emotionless. Throughout it all, Kei isn't as weak as he's appearance suggests.

Skills: Kei has the ability to use his blood as a weapon. Hence the excessive amount of band-aids on his weak body. He'd peel off the band-aid and use his unkempt long nails to reopen the wound. If needed he'd use any sharp object(near him) to create a cut for his power to activate.

Weaknesses: In order to create something he'd must have seen it beforehand. This power wouldn't work well if he's under pressure because he wouldn't be able to concentrate. Usually Kei doesn't care much about his body so he'd go out of his way to create bigger wounds. This is extremely dangerous because he can lose blood and eventually bleed himself to death. Therefore after opening up a wound, he wouldn't use his power for awhile. Unless he undergoes a panic attack to the point he wont listen to anyone and open as many wounds as he can. Creating more and more weapons and exhausting his body to the point of death.

Brief History: Kei was transported to the company at a young age. He was given to them by his own biological father who was extremely rich. Even at this time, Kei does not know why he was given away. While he doesn't remember what his father looks like, he still gets snippets of how his childhood used to be like.

Other: "Kei" Was a name one of the workers gave to him. They described it as, Kei should be "blessed," and or, "Lucky" that he is with them. Ever since then, Kei goes by that mindset. Also they dyed his hair to "doll" him up for the game. He actually had brown, healthy locks of hair when young.

Kei had a really good friend in the company that was named "Jupiter." The two would meet up once and awhile but after a few months went by, "Jupiter" disappeared. What Kei doesn't know is, "Jupiter" was actually the best subject around the laboratory. He was the most successful experiment before he disappeared. unbeknownst, to Kei the workers dyed his hair so that he can look like the lost subject.
