"Hello? I need some clothes." Miso stood there in the entry way waiting for the A.I. to appear and get started.

After a few minutes a young woman came out from behind a curtain. Over the curtain was a sign with the words, "Employees only". The lady wore a pin on her shirt that had a name on it. She was smiling and also had some type of thin yellow ribbon with numbers on it. "Hi! Can I help you miss?"

Miso guessed the A.I. holographics must be down. "Yes I would like some clothes." She had studied this in detail. To wear cloth made from plants was so ancient. Would they itch? The lady in front of her looked comfortable enough. Maybe her skin was tougher being she belonged to this ancient time period.

"My pleasure miss. This is some new fashion." The lady walked around the store! "Over here are school uniforms. But I think this would be the best fit for the summer. You look like a size three. Is that right?"

"Size?" The retina image screen relayed the reference from the database and came back with a description on ancient clothing size. A quick summery glance and she giggled. "Yes I'm a three." This would be a treat. Ancient clothing looked very anti form fitting. Even the ladies dress looked like a bag that hugged her waist line. After being handed some of the outfits she was directed to a changing booth. The kind lady shut the curtain between them. She waited for the Lasers in the mirror to activate an start changing the molecular form of her old clothes to match the ones the lady had placed on the scanning rod. Nothing happened. "Miss Yumi? There is something wrong with this booth its not functioning."

"Can I come in?" the lady asked and Miso agreed. She was still dressed. "Oh? Whats wrong? Is it a zipper?" Again she put in a inquiry and the data base came back with no data found. She just stood there. Yumi checked the clothes and made sure each garment was unzipped. "Ok they are all good to try on." The lady shut the curtain once more.

And there she was Miso standing in the small booth and the solution came to her. She could use the nanites, no this was a chance to try on ancient clothing the ancient way. With a small flash her clothes were assimilated by the nanites and gone. She examined the outfit Yumi described as a summer. She looked at the thin hoops from which it hung by and the large opening at the bottom. The center had some sort of stretching material. And of course the zipper was there too. The way it hung suggested the straps at the top and the large opening at the bottom was for the legs. She tried it on. The first time she ever put on a dress like this. It was thin very thin and able to get snagged on everything. The top kept falling off until she worked the zipper. The top was tight and the material was not smooth at all! In fact the course material was constantly rubbing against her skin it was very distracting. Why did people wear such a dangerous outfit? Was it even fire proof? Miso scanned it. Negative. Wow the people of this era lived so dangerously. It had nothing to help survive the vacuum of space. Not that Miso had any expectation to leave the planet. It was too primitive. This was getting dangerous. And worse still the nanites assimilated the material of her old outfit so Misso couldn't even get her old clothes back. Why was the whole at the bottom so big? Being so open made her feel a little shameful. She looked at herself in the mirror and was still stunned to be in such an outfit. Her whole life was form fit and protective garments this offered virtually nothing!

There was a thing hanging off the bottom that touched her legs it had a number on it and a symbol inquiry returned with money and the definition. "Idiot!" She didn't have anything! She had no clothes and now no way to compensate the ancient shop owner. Miso got mad! Well history wouldn't begrudge a girl trying to keep her modesty. She used the shops wi-fi to connect to access a financial institution and create an account. With enough money to buy well, she did need clothes and this outfit wouldn't last long. The financial institutional security was horrible only a sixteen digit combination made of only numbers and letters. No images or phonetic words. No A.I. security, the whole thing was just open to her. She made the account to buy a thousand outfits. She used a plastic coat hanger with the nanites to create a rectangular card with the plastic magnetic strip on the back. Miso stepped out of the booth and wore the outfit but noticed she had no foot wear. The shop keeper giggled at the fact the young girl didn't choose to wear the shoulder straps. Miso Choose a dozen other outfits. She would learn to wear them later in less public surroundings. "I need some shoes."

She then thought of how she was going to survive! Miso needed shelter and food and transportation but still able to blend in. She didn't want to wind up like that drone in New Mexico. She searched the area from a hacked military satellite and found one house that lead her on a number of other discoveries about the era! She watched the videos on the old computer connection called the internet. It was two dimensional not interactive or answered to voice or eye commands. It was horrible with only 1080 resolution everything was starting to give her a headache. She walked out of the store with three large bags and followed the GPS direction to a shoe store.

It was segregated! Guys and girls wore different shoes?! This was crazy! Miso looked over all the different foot wear. There was some with organic components from plants and others with all non organic components! Non of them had magnetic plating in the sole, were fire resistant, had anti bacterial nanites to keep the feet clean for extended wear, or metal plating. They were all so horribly made. A lot of them kept the woman off balanced with a long point in the base and it wasn't even for combat! Miso choose some sneakers simple but at least it offered the foot more coverage then the others. The girl tried some on and looked at other girls. Most of them allowed their toes exposed and had different coloration on the tips. This era really liked being exposed! When she got to the pay area she learned from commercials on the internet. Miso was asked about socks. The lady at the counter told her about the location as the internet told her about the use. Then she learned of undergarments! This clothing was crazy! Layers?! She didn't care. The future girl bought some socks and shoes and left the store. Watching more videos about the era she was stuck in. Out side the store the wind blew and she felt it. The sun was hot and her skin was bare. She worried about radiation. The corner store sold the object she had to carry called an umbrella. It was primative but helped a little. She asked for change to take the bus. Where? She hadn't a home here in the past! It would be about thirty minutes for a bus to come. She had to find a place to live out of the radiation.

Using satalite images, cross referenced them to the bus route, and went throght the house options. She had only herself so a small place would due but Miso also needed to build a temporal arch back to her time so she needed a lot of power. The only spot was a place called a nuclear plant but it wasnt for sale. All the other options for sale were horribly under powered. She didn't care about it she was tired from carrying the three bags and solar blocker umbrella. she reset the search parameters and found three. Connecting to the coffee shops internet access bypassing the *caffee* password and making the home hers back dating the sale and filling in all the blanks with appropriate information was easy she even went out of the way to send the seller money as well as the realtor. She did all that and still had twenty minutes to wait for the bus.

The bus came and she got on giving the money to the machine next to the bus driver. She took a few steps and sat on the bench the bus jerked forward and was making some horrible sounds as it moved. Not to look out of place Miso watched the other passengers for the time she should worry. She was in a dress and sneakers holding the umbrella and three bags. NASA gave the time to arrival and where she was on a transparent map in her peripheral vision. With NASA Miso felt safe. It would always be there for her. A few stops and then it would be her turn. She felt the bumps and jostling of the bus as she rode. The passengers all seemed to accept it. The sky was blue and bright. She couldn't wait to see her ancient home in Tokyo. The bus stopped and NASA flashed the signal for her to leave. She stood up and got off the bus.

She walked through the gate that was open and looked at the structure. It was mostly wood and some stone like exterior. The sign in the yard read for sale. She kicked it over. When she approached the door it didn't open. There was no interface panel. No electronic eye. No Holographic butler. Just a door. Setting the bags and umbrella down she examined the door. It was a metal compost hollow and worked on a hing instead of a magnetic rail. the thing that seemed to h=old it shut was a round metal handle and a second metal disk above it. She pressed her thumb to the disk. Nothing happened. She touched the knob with just the tips of her fingers which also did nothing. she put her hand over the metal disk and sent NASA to investigate this. Maybe it just needed power. NASA sent back the image it was a mechanical device. The three dimensional image showed the device was to simply push and pull a meta bar into the doors outer frame. "Wow..." That is all they used to secure their belongings. She had the nanites turn into a key and in turn open the lock. The door still didn't open so after getting more information she discovered the metal knob was a simple device that required some turning to operate. These were primitive people.

she walked in and shut the door behind her. If the technology in constructing the door was any indication Msio suspected the rest of the house would be just as lacking in technology. She was right. Why did this building have so many rooms? what was the white bowl for in the floor? She went into every room they were empty. All of them empty. There was nothing in it. Miso laughed. "At least that is one thing that stayed the same." The future girl sat in the largest room spread out her bags and sat staring at the videos NASA was playing.

They were from signals in the area. She had discovered wireless routers and hacked into them. Putting the five screens on the wall she sat and watched everything. topic of most discussions was no different then the future. It was all about romance. Most of them very detailed. They even had images and videos. She wanted to watch them but Miso was getting hungry. She focused on five different topics of research and had NASA help. They were money, home furnishing, food delivery options, computer technology, and home ownership. She spent over three hours and in that time upped her bank limit. She discovered just how many specialty service providers there were. Normally in her time when you got a place it was a single unit and all the utilities became active as you registered with the security A.I. not here here you had to contact several different web locations and tell them to reconnect the utilities all in advance. This was astonishingly inefficient. How people got anything done in this age was shocking. She ordered food, tools, cooking pot, a few knives, forks, and spoons, something called a fridge, several monitors, a bed, electronics , a bike to get around, washer, dryer, a hair dryer, some hair products, a lot of sun screen, and the utilities to turn on. She paid for the the fastest delivery option. There was a numerical sequence needed for all of this. Miso searched the data base for an unused number and handed it over to NASA. She wrote in some lines of code to have NASA always scramble her location and to never accept incoming communication until told to. The address linked to the number was to be unknown in all searches. Just a name. Miso M. All records of purchases in vendor data bases was set to self erase after a few months. In a hour their was a knock at the door.

It was three delivery guys. Each with food. A take out place for authentic local food. Vegetables and canned vegetables with soup cans and packages of dried noodles. A thing called a pizza as seen in the video. Lots of people were either talking about it and eating it. She wanted to try it. After getting everything in and noticing a few looks Miso shut the door and locked it. She sat on the floor first eating the noodles and the steamed vegetables with the chopsticks after getting a tutorial video on how to use them. while eating that, she tried a slice of pizza. It was mostly organic and smelled good. She bit into it and loved it! It was the best thing she had ever tasted. She ate and put the rest in the cabinet. She fell asleep on the floor.

In the morning it was just as bright as it had been before. She sat up and watched more videos on the local customs and current events around her. It was amazing! She had to be a part of it! Sh got an alert from her number the deliveries were on the way. "Damn" She had to stay. She looked up home information. The area she was in was a living room. She discovered what each room was named and what the white bowl was for. "Gross."The fact that it traveled into a pipe and through the city was so dangerous. Why didn't the city just pick it up and use it? She went to the cabinet to get some food but there were these things on it crawling through it. They were roaches from what the internet showed. They came after food when it wasn't properly put away. Miso rolled her eyes. "More shopping. How do people in this time get any work done?" She ordered containers and found out people liked to eat food on a serving dish. She chose to skip that. Just out of curiosity she totaled up her current spending. The total came to 72,860,497 yen.

She cross referenced the number with that of the average spent in a year. It was more then six times! She felt a little embarrassed. Hey a girl had to survive after being stuck in a different time. She did a lot more research on customs and how to rid herself of the smell. It was different. They used water instead of micro sonic transmitters to remove decaying cells from the external epidermis. She giggled at the thought. She watched five different feeds and ordered something for breakfast. The breakfast guy came and smiled at her. She thought he was kinda cute but she had read the warning label. The shoes by the door was common practice so that was nothing new. Miso kept reading and watching as the house made a sound. She stopped and started an inquiry. As the video came up there was a knock at the door. She would investigate the sound later.

She opened the door. "Yes?" Miso was bare foot and her blue hair was loose. She smiled at them because she was a happy person. There were three of them. All older not robots. She was quickly learning just how ancient this place was!

"Ms, Miso? Hello, we have your furniture." He looked at a peice of paper as he read the order. "One full futon, one chair black, washer, dryer, refrigerator, seven flat screen computer screens, speaker system, one large flat screen tv, and the list went on. She nodded at each item making sure it was all there. The men started to unload the truck which drew the attention of the neighbors. The other items would come later in the week. the me continued working to bring stuff in and unpack. They set the stuff in place and continued to work. Miso asked them general questions and had the local store bring food and drinks for the guys at noon. She was really enjoying the conversation and the men didn't seem to mind. They did find it odd that it was mostly going into the living room. To which the older guy hit the second with his hat. As they worked Miso started setting things up in the living room placing the screens all around her bed and she continued asking questions. What was it like living in this area? Where did people go to relax? How often did people work? Was the area a good location? What did they think of the house? What was a popular food? Where did people her age go during the day?"

The men laughed. "They go to school." My daughter better be there. If she knows whats good for her." This started a discussion among the men as they worked. Miso listened intently while getting the room set up. She also started running searches for activities for people her own age. They did school was over at eighteen while college went on for four years and eight for a doctorate. It was so amazing! With that munch school why did it take so long for the invention of robots and A.I.? She would have to see this for her self! She found a school and registered her self providing all the necessary documents. "Idiot!" She thought to herself. "What will I do for parents?!" She continued to research this. it would be harder for this to get done the documents would have to last a bit longer in the system.

"We're done." Said the oldest. He bowed and thanked Miso for the food and drinks. "Don't be late for school tomorrow." They climbed into the truck and left.

Miso closed the door and looked at her new stuff. She shook her head. This would not do. There still wasn't power. She shrugged it would have to do. With her arms outstretched to her sides. She illuminated the room and had the nanites reconfigure everything. They looked like faint streams of light. NASA was using the materials to build four better vid screens on the wall opposite the bed. Then used some matter to give the bed a magnetic hover of thirty four centimeters. The chair was next reconfigured to be the chair she left behind. The speakers became integrated into the house. A dish was installed to extend her range. Some of the other electronics would be used to make the ancient structure a bit more modern. Bits of metal were added here and there to give her a defensive element for her property. She had the stove and microwave dismantled to make a more efficient food prep unit. As the day went on she quickly became exhausted. The nanties fed off her bio electricity. Miso had reconfigured most of the matter in her house. It had taken its toll. She took off her clothes and got into bed. The sheets were rough. The blanket was too. She was too tired to care. Closing her eyes Miso drifted off to sleep. The sun was just about to set. She smiled living in the past wasn't so bad.

The next day she awoke but the light outside was dimmer. She got up and looked out her window. There was this grey stuff over the sky! she panicked was this due to her time trip? Was it the war that brought decades of cold? She took a deep breath and had the screens display the local feeds. She heard a scream of astonishment. Looking out from her window Miso saw the neighbor across from her had dropped his drink on his foot and was staring at her. Her face went from curiosity, to a dark shade of red! Quickly she drooped to the floor! "Idiot!" Why didn't the pass have privacy glass on house windows?! Her clothes were upstairs. She made a portal up to the dressing room. The neighbor picked up the cup and the mail and limped back to his house. His foot burned from the morning coffee. NASA confirmed the time of 0945 am. The day was Friday.

She wanted to try a shower even if she didn't have the other stuff. She had never been in water before. Miso got in and followed the video instruction. Nothing happened. There was no water. "The house must still be in off mode." This past had it's down sides. She sighed and got out. Her body did smell. She looked online and found stuff for that too. She could have it delivered or get it from the shop down the street. She couldn't resist. She got dressed and put her shoes on. She stepped out the door and closed it behind her. The nanites turned the metal lock and she headed down the street. It was colder, darker, and the wind was stronger. Miso didn't care for this at all. Her face showed her concern and her long hair whipped around her.

She made it to the smaller market and looked around. She tried to ask the older guy at the counter which soap was better but he got red in his face and then hit in the back of his head by a lady of the same age as him. "Dear let me help you." Miso bowed politely and started asking her things. This womans' face got red too but she was a wealth of information. her name was Akiko. She had lived here her whole life. she had an answer for every question. Akiko didn't shy away from anything asked. Miso had bought more then as he intended to as they kept talking. After Miso's basket was full she found herself in front of the counter they kept talking while the man totaled her bill. Miso paid and promised to return. Then the rain fell. The girl from the future didn't care. No one got out of it, and it didn't burn anyone. She made it home as she was about to turn the corner the woman from across the street looked at her with a sour face. "Go put some clothes on tramp!" She was dressed in the right clothes. She looked to see if the rain had eaten away at them. "No, noooo!" She crossed her arms across her chest and darted for the door. These clothes were so poorly made!she got to the door and opened it. Darted inside and slammed it behind her! "Idiot.."

Inside Miso had the nanites remove the water from her clothes. "Why had no one improved on these clothes?!" She put the bags on the kitchen counter and started examining her purchases. Each object held her fascinated for the entire moment she examined it smelled it. She put it on her skin under the shoulder. It did mask the smell, and the scent was pleasing. She would try the rest of her purchases later when the water came on.

Miso was watching the Tv and she thought there had to be a better way to observe people of this age. She had a house with three empty rooms She needed roommates! A huge smile grew on her face. she went to the local ad site for the news in the area. Her roommate wanted ad read, :Wanted roomate to share three bedroom house. Utilites included, private back yard, located a mile from a rail station to tokyo. she psoted it and within an hour she had over a hundred replies. There was a knock at the door... "Ye?"

"Miso Motoku? I'm Mitsako. I'm here from the future. Did you recently purchase a temporal rift machine 27529.Echo with the inter dimensional regulator? ..."

Miso opened the door. "Yes?.. She was older woman with dark hair. Next to her on the step was a travel suitcase.

"Well I'm here to be your mom..."

Miso put her hands up shoulder height. "What? Why not just take me back to the future?"

She walked inside with her bag. Shutting the door with her foot. "Ms. Miso, you signed the licensing agreement in which the sub section 4B paragraph 7 of the warning lable, states in the event you are lost in time the company is required by the host nation to be notified and a agent be sent to assist. Even if we had the time to build a machine, their is no technology capable to power said device. Not to mention the device using current parts would be the equivalent of a twenty story building and cover an area of eight city blocks. It would take by the companies model eighty years to complete if we took over a country and had them build it in secrete." She rubbed her head with her hand. "Ms. Miso when you took off the enviro suit you became exposed to the germs and bacteria of this era. Your body has already begun to adapt to the gravity. Now then to help facilitate your cover I will be your mother. This house is grossly inadequate." She let out a sigh. Raising her arm she pointed the band on it towards the stair case. It was a molecular reconfiguration device. Mitsako shot a blue beam at the stairs and at once the stair now led down instead of up. The nanites dissolved the suitcase and the compressed carbon inside.

They walked down as the new space was being reconfigured. NASA estimated the work was being done at a rate of three feet every second. Miso saw the space tuning into a two story sub basement. The first floor was the be living quarters with a connection to the the current system of electronic communication. Screens and sound system integration. Miso heard the wood of the house creaking as it grew as well. "Miso would you move your stuff into the loft room. Also be advised that I've taken care of the bus that was cut in half by the first temporal portal. Also I know of the roommate request in the paper."

"S-sure.." She hadn't had a mom since all kids were born sterile and grown in birthing chambers. This would be cool! She went upstairs and saw everything was bigger bit at the cost of the back yard. It was smaller now by at least a third. She rolled her eyes and went upstairs to the third floor. The roof had a flat patio forming with a primitive looking dish. It wasn't just the house she could feel it. Her life had changed for the better. She set everything back up with the help of NASA.

She looked through the replies to her request. She settled on two people after checking their bank statements, school transcripts, social media, police record, government record, and personal interests. The first to meet the criteria was a foreign exchange student from America named Amillia. She was a year younger but got all "A"'s and would be in the same grade as Miso. The second was what the era called gifted. the same age as Miso but going to college. She sent the approval email and told them to come by to look at the property at ten sharp tomorrow.

Miller
Opening her eyes to her hotel room was so unauthentic. She came to another country to experience the culture not to live as she had in the west. After a shower and breakfast Amillia opened her lap top and checked her email. Her face lit up! She was going to ensure she was there at ten sharp! Already completing a thorough google search of the crime rate in the area, the distance to the school, the condition of the house, and the spaces provided. She would not let such a gem slip away. She gathered everything up and repacked her bags. Calling down to the front desk for a cart. Amillia wasn't going to turn down this chance!

Miller checked out and got into the cab her bags filling the trunk and most of the back seat she sat upfront with the driver. Her outfit was a skirt and blouse simple yet nothing too foreign. Her hair in a single bun. Her hands clutching her purse trying to contain her excitement of living inside a Japanese house. The drive was going to take almost forty minutes to get there. She counted every minute.

When she got there it was fifteen till she had the driver put the bags on the inside of the gate that was unlatched. She paid the driver with a tip for the help she even gave a bow to be traditional. Amillia was a little disappointed when he waved back and left. She sat on the throne made of bags until it was five till ten she stood and walked to the door. Suppressing her nervousness she was about to press the door bell when suddenly she heard the sound of a car stopping behind her. She turned to look and a second cab and the two occupants getting out. One holding a single bag and a pet carrier, The other letting the cab driver get her to large bags and giving him a wink when he held out his hand for a tip.....

Yuki Tanaka/Ryuki Hanata

She checked her email before going to bed. After completing her class work for the week, her emails were sent to professors and family. There in the inbox was one email Yuki looked at with hopefulness. She wanted to move out of the dorm to a better location her current roommate was a bit too social for her taste. Constant visitors and night noises keeping her awake. She petted cookie and gave her a treat. She didn't even wait she packed during the night after sending one email to the university housing council. Telling them she was vacating immediately.
Her roomat at the time, a Ryuki Hanzo. She was a huge flirt part ygirl and all around mess. Her grades were strait "C's". Not really applying herself to really anything outside of flirting and dating. Her family was extremely rich and spoinled her the grant to the school was considerable.
"Hey! What are you doing there love letters? Hmmm?" She leaned in and saw the screen before Yuki could close it. "A new place?! Wow!" Ryuki smiled that's great I can't wait to get outta here! This boy in..." Yuki put on some head phones while Her roommate kept talking and getting undressed for bed. Maybe Ryuki would forget like most things in her head by morning...

They left in the morning stopping first to eat breakfast at the cafeteria. Then moving to the cab waiting for her on the street.
The cab ride was long but worth it. Yuki had some music she listened to while Ryuki talked to the cab driver. The house had a bit of charm to it. Although it looked slightly bigger then the posted picture. She walked past the gate to see a mound of bags and a blonde haired woman on the front step. She watched the other girl push the door bell with a smile. Yuki's eyes narrowed.

Miso

She woke to the sound of water sitting up to look around her room was in the hall to her new mom. She had to relocate from the living room to the loft. Then back to the room on the second floor. Mom Suggested it as she thought Yuki would take the roommate agreement only if she felt isolated from the rest of the house. The floor was reconfigured to allow the master bed room side access to the bath and a door to the hall for the other two bedrooms could get in. Miso knew the water was finally on and she wanted to try some of her purchases. The water a little to the hot side she stepped in and started to imitate the videos of washing. This was going to take some time getting use to. This bathing was different. Being covered in water and the soap burned her eyes!"Ahhh! Damn it! What the hell!?" Even not being directly applied to the eyes. She had read the warning label but they were vague at best. Now she rinsed out the suds from her stinging eyes. After getting out from the water she did feel that her skin was sensitive. She could feel the breeze under the door and the shiver of her skin. It was different and she smiled in the new sensation. Grabbing the towel she wrapped it around herself and walked to the bedroom.

NASA reported Miso had only an hour to dress and eat before the new roommates arrived. She grew in her excitement and tossed the towel in the hamper by her door. Getting dressed in an over sized shirt and a pair of cloth shorts she rushed down stairs where Mitsiko was making breakfast. She looked rough.

Her new mom looked up and was stressed! "Breakfast will be late.." She quickly learned there was much more to cooking than just the measurements and times. It was like no other skill she had been taught! After her third attempt she served toasted white rice with scrambled half cooked eggs and some fruit that was oddly sliced. She sat and ate it with Miso but after only the first bite they both gave each other the look of how bad the food was.

The door bell rang. The house was completely remodled as Miso looked around on the way to the door. There was a new step down for shoes as she miss it and toppled forward into the door with a thud. On the floor on her knees with one hand rubbing her head she opened the door. "Hi. I'm Miso Montuko..." Miso wore a shirt and a pair of shorts. her hair in high ponytails. She opened her eyes and saw The blond girl looking back at her as Miso made it to her feet with the help of the door. Opening it further she motioned for them to come in. AS they walked in one by one she saw there were three girls. "One, two, ...wait. There are three of you I only invited two emails." she shook her head to make sure her eyes were ok.

Before the others could speak, "Hi! I'm Hanata Ryuki. Nice to meet you! I came with this one." As she hung her arm around a very reluctant Yuki. "Anyway looks like you got the space and I just need to make sure this place was big enough and looks great. Hey you have a yard in the back!" She took a few steps before stopping. "Hey you're not gonna put us out are you? I mean there should be a spot somewhere I can set up right?" Ryuki had a big pouty face on that normally worked on people.

"Well... Let me show you around. This is the foyer for shoes and here to the right is the kitchen. to the left is the living room, and in the back is the yard. we have a garage. A celler that is,"

"Off limits. I work at home and have a lab downstairs so no one for any reason is allowed downstairs." Misako said as she took the last step down from the stairs heading to the kitchen. She was in a lab coat and had her hair pinned up. A black framed pair of glasses sat on her face. She didn't look at them as she walked by to get some water.

"Miso had a slightly surprised look as she had not expected her "mom" there. "So, that is my mom. And there is a bathroom back to the right. Follow me upstairs." As the girls made it up stairs to the second floor Miso din't really know the new layout. NASA gave a quick scan via interface and relayed the data to her optic overlay. Here are the bed rooms and full bath the door at the end of the hall... is a room with a balcony. Each room has internet and TV connections. Furnishings are there and each has a window. The third floor is converted attic to loft and that's where I sleep."The girls split up, running toone of the rooms!

Yuki made a dash to the back room with the balcony. Excited she put her bag and cat carrier down. "I'll take it!" She turned and was going to stick her tongue out at Ryuki only to find her nemesis had moved to the left and open the door. Yuki left her bags and pet carrier in the room shutting the door as she made her way back to Miso. "So are the utilities included? You didn't really mention anything other then room for rent."

Ryuki was cut off from the balcony room but she tried to act indifferent the room not next to the bathroom was better then flushing sounds at random times. Her room wasn't what she dreamed of but it would be better not to be in the dorm having guys constantly knocking on her door. The room was simple bed desk and closet. The room did have a ceiling fan and a double window. She opened it and looked out at the street and around the neighborhood. Across the way she blushed and ducked against the wall. How was this possible. The only boy she really liked and he was across the street! She tried so hard to get his attention but he was brand new to the high school and was on the fast track to being an all honors student. He played soccer and had a sister. Ryuki knew all that and his name was Eiji Misoto. He had dark hair but green eyes! Her must have in a husband! She loved green eyes more than anything else. he wasn't rich or had a car but he was bright warm and kind. Nothing like the guys that constantly approached her. She stepped out of the room. "I'll take this one."

Miller opened the door to the room to the right of the hall. She had her eyes shut till now and slowly opened them. She saw the room was a closet. Sighing she shut the door and moved down to the nest door. That door was the bathroom it was nice had a shower sink and a huge tub! Nearly enough room for three. She shut the door and moved down the hall further to the last door on the right again eyes shut, breath held as she opened the door and looked in. The room was nice. A book shelf build into the right wall, desk in the corner, full size bed, and two double doors with frosted glass in the center of the frame. A set of drapes to either side of them for more privacy. She opened the door and it was a porch out to the back yard. The porch had its own canopy top and a telescope. The wind hit her and she sighed with a smile. She could see the cherry blossom trees in the year from her room and the porch even had a wind chime. She came out into the hall way and walked up to the group as they talked.

'Um..."
"Rent is forty thousand yen do at the first every month, with a deposit of twenty thousand now. Utilities are included. Food is not included, and there will be choirs posted every week on a rotating schedual." Miso flinched hearing Misako behind her.

The money was collected and the girls spent the rest of the day setting up their rooms and getting ideas for their room layouts and decor.

As the girls upstairs were settling in Misako was in her lab. Misakos hair pinned up, her glasses on the desk, along with her feet. This wasn't her ideal situation. After all no one in the present was suppose to want to visit such a violent and chaotic era. Anyone with half a brain was suppose to be happy working and living in the utopia the corporations provided. At the very least they were suppose to read the fine print warning labels before constructing a temporal rift generator! Misako felt frustrated and unappreciated. This was suppose to be a do nothing job with a good government pension at the end of her term. There was never anyone who was suppose to be smart enough to actually build a T.R.G. and not have a plan to get back! Misako folded her arms under her chest and pouted.

Now she was stuck here with her. This primitive tech was really a pain to upgrade so that she could use it properly. Every single device had to have a complete rebuild. The only thing that made it bearable was her matter reconfigure wrist device. The thought of having to actually rewire, find components, and program all this to suit her needs would make her want to quit! At least she had the five uneventful years in the company. Which meant that in a mere twenty years she could retire and return. Misako sighed and continued building more equipment for her long term assignment. The screen on her wrist turned red. "What?!" Misako looked a little panicked. She needed more raw material! Where was she suppose to get that in this era?! Her training kicked in as she expanded the screen on her wrist to a holographic three dimensional display. She needed to buy some raw materials. Making a list she sent it to Miso. The company forbade her from interacting to the contaminated timeline at all. Everything had to be done through the anomaly.

Miso was standing there in front of Yuki who had heard Misako but still looked for Miso to confirm. "No' utilities are included. Food will be individually purchased. I'll chip in on the weekends for a pot luck. We only have one bathroom on this floor so the four of you will have to share. There is a second restroom on the first floor. As Misako mentioned there will be a choir list and the basement level is off limits. My room is in the loft area for any requests questions or stuff like that. If there's nothing else I'll be downstairs talking to Misako."With Yuki giving a half smile and soft shake of her head she returned to her room to unpack while Miso walked downstairs to the basement.

Miller was just standing there listening to them talk as she heard all the answers to the questions she would have asked. Returning to her room to unpack. She didn't have much but her clothes needed to be set out and hung in the closet. She opened the door to see there was no traditional mattress and pillows. It was more of a college room with a western bed and set up. Even though the mattress was a full it was a little disappointing to be an exchange student and not get the culture immersion. Miller would bring it up in conversation later tonight for now there was a ton of unpacking.

All the girls spent their time rearranging cleaning dusting and unpacking until it was dinner time. Coming down to the kitchen with the sweet and spicy smell of curry. Misako was wielding three pans and a ladle in her teeth. Her hair pinned up as she moved from one burner to the next. Stirring, tasting, adding, and tasting again. "Five minutes to perfection. Miso bowels, Miller cups, Yuki I need you to get me some water."

The first meal was a quiet one to start. Until Miso finished the first bite.
