Hi, I'm Figgy! (You know, like the fruit and the cakes and the pudding-)
I've been roleplaying for more years than I can remember to count because my memory's pretty bad all things considered (I'd say 6 or 7 if you could call how bad I was for the first three years 'roleplaying'). I don't remember exactly what sparked the interest, but it's always been a hobby of mine since that has helped me make a lot of the friends I have today. I'm generally used to fast-paced roleplaying due to typically RPing on a real-time browser program a friend made, but I decided to try out forum-based RP because of my narrowing schedule making it harder on me to show up daily while dealing with things like timezone differences (Curse the 5-hour difference between East Coast America and England). I think something slower I can take my time with would be an interesting new experience and one that could easily fit into my free time.
As for me personally, I'm into the fantasy genre a lot, though I do have interest in sci-fi that doesn't usually get shared much around my friend group. I like reading, playing games, watching anime and Netflix, history/mythology, psychology, and am trying to find the time to seriously get into drawing, maybe next year. That's about the entirety of my two cents for now. I hope things go well around here, I've already seen some threads I'd be interested in!
