Bruce looked at Melanie. So innocent. He looked back at Ariana. "If you need anything, please, do not hesitate to ask." He said.

Ryan's attention was caught by the unmasked Dark Knight's words. Was Bruce feeling just as guilty as his mom? Batman was there when it happened... He felt the pressure of Juliettee's fingers, but he gave no sign that he felt it. Dick cleared his throat and patted Ryan's shoulder. "I'll see you around, but take your time. No need to go out there right away." And the tall man left for the little group of gotham dorks. "Let's go sit down..." Ryan murmured to Juliettee, looking at her with dark eyes. He hated this.

Ariana gave a weak smile that barely lasted a second before falling. "Thank you," she murmured. She happened to glance over the clock and see that the ceremony was about to begin. "We should get seated." She kept Melanie in her arms as her and Alex weaved their way to the front of the chapel.

Juliettee gave a small wave to Dick as he left. She nodded softly in agreement. "Don't worry, love," she told him under her breath. "You won't have to be here for long." She followed beside him to the benches that were meant for the family members. Even though she wasn't technically family-related, she wasn't willing to leave Ryan's side. At the most, she would stand behind him with her hands on his shoulders.

Ryan didn't let go of Juliettee's hand as he walked to the benches. At this point, Juliettee was family. Waiola stood by Crystal, watching the rest of the West family go to their seats. "You ready?" The Hawaiian native asked the curly haired woman.

Ariana was seated next to Alex with Melanie on her lap, the little girl playing her hair. Juliettee sat with her folded knees turned towards Ryan and her hands grasping his arm, attentively watching him.
Crystal stood in the threshold of the chapel, next to her pregnant girlfriend. "Ready as I'll ever be," she grumbled. She shoved one hand into her suit's pocket while taking Waiola's in her other. She led the taller woman to the benches and seated herself with the rest of her family. She wanted Waiola sitting next to her for two reasons: one, she needed the emotional support, and two, Waiola was pregnant as f*ck and didn't need to be on her feet.

Waiola sat herself next to Crystal, one of her hands resting on her belly, the other wrapped around Crystal's waist. She gently placed her cheek on Crystal's shoulders, silently listening as the speaker began.

Ryan kept his eyes glued on the floor. He really didn't want to look at anyone right now. He wasn't going to cry, he wasn't going to feel anything but Juliettee's touch. The service slowly moved forward, the seconds ticking by like snails moving across a sidewalk. He was thinking about nothing but counting the minutes that crawled past him. Another speaker came and went. Pretty soon, the actual wake was over and it was time to bury his father.

It was heart-wrenching to see that blank look on Ryan's face. The words of the preacher and the speakers were simply background noise as her attention was on her boyfriend. She remembered her parents funeral too well. So boring and drab, but that had also been the first time she had encountered a demon and learned what she was created for. The death of her parents had hardly fazed her then - still just a sore memory rather than a tragic event - and she didn't want Ryan to be that way. Proper human response is to cry, beg to give their beloved back, even scream at God in anger! But, feeling nothing is the worst response.

As the speakers spoke, Ariana slowly encased Melanie in her arms, like a shield from what was going on. Her large, blue moon eyes watering. So much was running through her head that she could hardly focus on the people speaking. How much she missed Wally. What she could've done to prevent his death. How was she even going to manage living without him? She was a mess when they met but he seemed to make everything wrong about her a little less bad. Now that she had lost him, she was beginning to forget taking her medicine and her grip on reality was slipping.

A bunch of the unmasked heroes stood and walked over to Wally's casket. Clark Kent, Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Donna Troy, and Shayera Hol all put their hands on the coffin and lifted it into the air. First the West family stood and walked to behind them, starting the procession to where the fallen hero would be put to rest. Ryan was still holding Juliettee's hand as they quietly followed. The graveyard was right outside of the church. It was cloudy and dreary, but not raining. Everyone moved slowly, which was almost painful for the speedster.

Ariana was one of the first people to follow the fallen hero. She was carrying Melanie on her hip, but surprisingly, her free hand was gripping onto Alex's. The height was prominent, but never so much till one saw that Alex had the basically lean down for her to hold his hand. The electric woman had tears welling up in her eyes now, threatening to spill over. Her feet her marching to the pound of pain in her head.

Juliettee followed beside Ryan, softly squeezing his hand the entire time. Her mismatched eyes were flickering over the mourning crowd. Almost everyone was looking down. She never noticed at funerals that people did that so often; it was as if that the sight of the coffin would curse them. Very few were actually looking at the coffin, however. She turned her head to look up at Ryan. His features were still stone still.

Out of the three, Crystal's eyes were watering the most. The crystal woman with immense anger issues was crying harder than the wife of the deceased, and even the son. She didn't sniffle, though, just silent streams of sadness ran down her cheeks.

The heroes arrived at the deep, rectangular pit where the coffin was lowered into. Everyone stood around the West family and the hole, all eyes on Wally's casket. Through out the entire funeral, Ryan's expression didn't really change. This part was no acceptation. His blank gaze watched the fancy box go deeper and deeper into the hole.

Waiola hugged Crystal's arm, wanting to give her space but also make her presence known. She knew Crystal hated to look like this, so she didn't want to bother her too get too close and make it seem like a big deal at the moment. She would wait until they got home. The Hawaiian didn't really understand how the West's could seem so calm compare to Crystal's reaction. What was wrong with them?

The sound of the coffin being lowered into the grave was almost ear-shatteringly loud for Ariana. "AdiĆ³s mi amor," she mumbled, her mouth barely opening to say the words. Only Alex and those around with super-hearing would be able to hear her. Melanie noticed her mother was beginning to cry harder, so the little girl - being the sweetheart that she was - carefully wiped away her tears with her little hand and hummed, "Don't cry, mommy."

Juliettee took the hand that she had holding his arm and moved it down to squeeze his hand. Waiting a moment for the feeling to sink in that Wally had official been buried, she looked up at her boyfriend and whispered to him, "How are you feeling, love?" She wasn't concerned about anything else going on around her, only him.

Crystal's eyebrows slowly creased with annoyance after Wally was lowered into the grave. She was annoyed that she was crying so much. Not to the extent of angry, yet, but very annoyed. She appreciated that Waiola was keeping her distance, because she really did hate appearing weak by crying.

"Ready to go home." Ryan muttered, his blue gaze glancing to his mother and sister. His mom was becoming a wreck, his sister was too innocent to understand the extent of what a death like their father's meant. Even Crystal was emotional. But would home really be 'home' with out his dad? No. His home would now just be a house. "I just want to go home." He whispered, looking away from his family.

A few people started to leave. Some brought a handful of dirt and offered it to the unforgiving hole where Wally West, the second Flash, was going to be laid to rest in. Ryan really didn't want to be here anymore.

Juliettee stepped in front of him, and placed a hand on each sides of his face. "We can go to my house, if you want," she offered, watching his blue eyes. "I know going back to your home will be a bit hard." One of her thumbs gently brushed over his check.

Alex threw a handful of dirt onto the coffin, for Ariana's sake. Then he returned to her side and began guiding the troubled woman away from the site. As she passed by her son, she stopped to lightly squeeze his arm without looking at him then moving on. The past couple of days had hard for the two to communicate, especially with Ariana forgetting her medication. She wanted to talk to him but no time seemed like the right time to try and do so.

Crystal momentarily left Waiola's side and offered a handful of dirt to the resting place of Wally. She returned to her girlfriend while she glanced over her family. F*ck, they were a messed up bunch. She took Waiola's hand and said, "Let's go home." She had to urge to cry more but didn't want to embarrass herself in front of the others.

Ryan shook his head, his eyes only briefly following his mother. "Let's...let's just go to my apartment. I'm sorry, I just don't feel like I can go too far." He mumbled. He watched as people gave dirt to the hole's depths. He just wasn't ready to leave his yet. He was 19 years old, a superhero, and the only death he had really experienced was the death of Samueal's and Ranji's daughter. Even though Echo was a teammate for a brief amount of time, she wasn't family.

"that sounds like a good idea, Ku`u Lei." Waiola replied, giving her hand a little squeeze.

Juliette nodded in understanding, one of her sweet smiles dancing across her lips. "No need to apologize, mon lapin," she cooed, letting her hands draw away from his face. "Let's go." She took his hand once more and waited for him to leave on his own accords.

Crystal kissed Waiola's hand before leading her away from the burial site. Once they were in a less watched area, she geo-leaped them back their home. Crystal instantly started the cry more, hugging her pregnant girlfriend.

What did Ryan do to have such an understanding girlfriend? He smiled softly at her and began the walk back to his apartment. He didn't have the energy to run back to his dwellings, so they walked. It was a silent walk, but it wasn't a terrible walk. When they got his apartment, he unlocked his front door, turned the lights on inside, and entered. He as just as calm as he had been at the funereal as he shut the door behind them. His apartment was small, just a one room, one bathroom, and one kitchen. That was all he needed. The entrance was in the kitchen. he took off his suit jacket and tie and unbuttoned his button-down shirt. He sighed quietly as he combed his fingers through his ginger spikes.

Waiola's eyes softened at Crystal's embrace. "Oh, baby," She cooed, stroking her back. "Come on, let's sit." She said quietly, leading her over to the sofa and sitting them down. She hated seeing Crystal like this, but Crystal needed to be like this. At least for the moment.

Juliettee didn't mind walking to his apartment in silence. It was rather nice actually. Once they were inside his apartment, she removed her heels and placed them by the door. She watched Ryan for a moment before walking over to him. She placed her opened palms against his chest while her mismatched eyes looked up at him. "How are you really feeling?" She asked once more. "Usually people don't sit through a funeral with no emotions."

Crystal allowed Waiola to lead her to the couch and sat beside her. She was small enough to fully curl up on the couch and into the crook of Waiola's extended stomach and arm. She felt gross crying like she was but good at the same time. She was never too close to Wally but she still missed him so much.

"Tired." Ryan replied, looking at her. He blinked and turned his head to the side and was quiet for a few moments. He was obviously thinking things over in his head. He just wanted to go to another one of his dad's stupid movie marathons where he did nothing but geek out about the movie and hit on the movie actress's on the screen while dodging disapproving hits from his wife. "I hate this." He replied. "I hate feeling like this. I want it to stop."

Waiola continued to soothingly stroke Crystal's back, her fingers moving in circles. "I lost someone once, I lost alot people back in my first universe when it got destroyed. I lost the only other girl I dated before that world went to shit. Here I am, alive and well and I've now been to three universes. Years later, it's not even her death that impacted me the most as of now." Waiola said, looking down at Crystal with warm eyes. "It was the deaths of those who I didn't know so well, those people I hung around with and but I wasn't nearly as close to them as I wanted to be. It feel terrible knowing that someone died and you didn't get to know them as well as you liked to."

Juliettee pressed her lips together as she gently wrapped her arms around his torso and pressed himself against him. She was radiating warmth and light more so than usual. "Oh, baby," she hummed. "I know it hurts. As cheesy as it sounds, time will heal. I know that for a fact." She raised herself on her toes to press a small kiss against his cheek. "If you're tired, then come lay down," she murmured to him, releasing him from her arms and taking a short step back.

Crystal let out a shaky sigh. "I've known Wally my entire life," she stated in a grumble. "It bothers me that I'm crying harder than Ryan and Ariana. Jesus christ, if I feel like this, I can't imagine what they feel like." She fiercely scrubbed at her eyes with the balls of her palms. "How can you lose so many people and still be ok?" She asked sheepishly.

Ryan closed his eyes and took a deep breath as her warmth moved away from him. He opened his eyes and looked at Juliettee. His gaze washed over her, then glanced back at the bed behind her, and then back to her. "Only on one condition..." He started, a curious light in his eyes. He walked up to her, giving her less and less space, making her take more and more steps backward until the back of her knees met his mattress. He looked at her with pleading eyes. "...will you help make me feel something else?"

Waiola didn't say anything to the first part of Crystal's words. Her eyes darted away for a moment at her question and fell on her plump stomach. "Because I had to. There were new people who needed me and I needed to be there for them." She replied, looking back at her girlfriend. "It's hard, but it's not impossible. And it never completely goes away, the hurt that is, but it mostly goes away."

Juliettee gaze him a curious look at his starting words, standing her ground until he kept going to make her back up. When the back of her knees hit the bed, her heart skipped a beat as she reached up to catch onto to his shoulders so she didn't fall backwards. Her eyebrows rose at his suggestive tone before her eyes darted away for a second. In the low light, it was easy to tell that she was blushing. This wasn't how she was expecting her night to come to. Not that she was complaining, however.
She pushed her foot off the bed, spinning him around and sitting him on the edge. "I can help with that," she murmured, hiking up her dress a little so that she could put a knee next to him and sitting on his lap. She placed his hands on her hips then gently pecking his lips.

Crystal let her hands fall to her lap from scrubbing at her eyes and she stared down at them. All she responded with was a soft, "Yeah". She adjusted her head so that it was resting against Waiola's chest and she placed a gentle hand on her swollen stomach. God, she was lucky to have Waiola in her life.
