There's people being killed outside. You can go out and save them, or stay inside and hope they go away. This choice will affect the rest of the story from now on, which means it's important. Your character isn't taking any action towards either goal, so that's abstinence.

My character technically expressed that she better not get involved, leading to staying inside and hoping for them to go away. I posted about it a while back.

You chose not to get involved with the discussion. While you personally will not do anything, if one person goes out the risk applies to everyone. You've made no move to motivate the others to take either path, which means you're not affecting the outcome of this particular junction in the story.

Sorry, I have a large vocabulary, and tend to use long words sometimes. I'm part Brittish, it's in my blood. Basically, abstinence means you aren't doing anything. I'm holding a tally, go out or stay in. The more people try and convince the group of a certain path, the more likely they are to do that. Also, alternate methods may be taken, such as ignoring everyone else and rushing out alone, but these are with their own risks.

Hey Matt, can I fix my character ^^' I majorly dumbed him down from where I got him in fear of him being OP, but I don't think he would be now... (basically, actual magic instead of a flaming sword, though his blade is still magical in a sense)

Magic is rare among humans, and you'd be ignoring supply lines. I'll cut you a deal. You have full magical power but you owe the Sky Spirits of Urn a serious favor for teaching you magic.

Multi-planetary powers are a nono. This is a low-power setting, house-level at max. Don't go around setting yourself up as an unstoppable god.

I see, and his most powerful tier of spells are the only ones that go above that, so that's why I clipped them.
