"Yes." She sighed, pulling the lightsaber to her belt with her outstretched hand. Not moving closer to Kresst. "The kind of men they were, I can imagine that they would have tried to bring me in again." Mevenn paced, anger threatening to spill out of her again when she heard movement at the door to her little training bay.

"That's not entirely true Commander." Mach stood at the door, helmet and armour off in just the plain black jumpsuit clones wore underneath their armour. "We're bonded to you, in the same way we're bonded to eachother." Mach sighed. "The truth is if you had lost all will, and if trying to talk you down didn't yield any results. We would have changed to lethal fire. You know all our moves, everything we could possibly do. If I had to give the order to protect them I would, but I've watched your helmet footage. There's nothing you could have done that you didn't already try. You disarmed them, you pushed them out of the way. What happened was not your fault."

Mevenn scoffed, she tried to speak. Opening her mouth but nothing was coming out of it. Eventually she barged across the room, straight past Kresst, and embraced Mach. He seemed initially taken aback by the hug, arms sprayed outwards. Given a couple of seconds he returned the hug, placing one hand on the back of Mevenns head as she started to sob into his shoulder.

Kresst had not known the clones, or even so much as their names, but that did not mean he could not feel the depth of what their loss meant to Mevenn and, of course, Mach. He could feel in himself a burning anger towards whatever faceless entity was responsible for the crime, though he had to hide that feeling from being sensed. "The people responsible for stealing their minds and commanding their bodies to violence, those are the ones who killed your friends. And the ones who deserve justice for it." Kresst said; although, he took care not to say too much more too quickly, so as not to intrude upon their reconciliation. He waited patiently until enough time had passed that he felt it was appropriate for him to speak again.

"There is still much we do not know about the situation, and I do not want to assume to know the truth until we do." Kresst began, taking a few slow steps closer to Mevenn and Mach. "But, I do want to say that I know I can trust you two. No matter what happened, or will happen, we will be stronger to face it together. If this event was not isolated...if something forced nearly every clone to turn against every Jedi, then I am sure you can both imagine what kind of repercussions that could have on a galaxy-wide scale. We do not know what the state of the Jedi Order, or the Republic army, is going to be when we return. We just have to be ready to help and protect each other, no matter what it might be."

Mevenn turned to face Kresst, nodding. Her face still riddled with tears, red marks to indicate the conflict that was still going on within her. It was obvious there was turmoil within, a fight that she was having to fight unlike any she had faced. Even the trials had not prepared her for this. She merely nodded as she went to leave the room again. Then turned back to face into it unsure on where to go, or what to do. Usually training helped to calm and centre herself. Now it just seemed to fuel the conflict that was going on within her. Her emotions were near the surface, whenever she moved in a fluid motion for conflict it brought her emotions up.

"Hopefully we'll be back in Republic Space soon. Then we can find out what's happening."

"Agreed." Kresst remarked. Mevenn's distinctly emotional reaction was quite unlike a Jedi, and the fact that Kresst showed no objections was a detail that she might notice. Though, for the moment, Kresst was ready to head back to his quarters and rest. "I simply hope that the news we find upon our arrival is not as grim as I fear." He added before taking his leave.

Given how far into the Outer Rim they had been, it took some time for the ship to even get close to Republic space once more, and they all had a chance to sleep and clear their minds as much as possible. For Kresst, he was able to keep himself content by acknowledging that the answers they needed, whatever they might be, would become available to them soon enough. Until then, no amount of worry or thought would improve the situation.

The ship was uncomfortably silent the next morning, unlike their journey from the core. Kresst remembered being irritated by the noise a few of the clones had been making when they were given a chance at free time, but now that silence he had desired was now just a harsh reminder of what had transpired. He knew that if he was thinking about it, then it was certainly magnitudes worse of a reminder for Mevenn and Mach.

It was easy to tell when the ship had dropped from hyperspace, but Kresst did not move with any particular haste until he heard Eeruna's voice over the ship's comms. "Master Jedis...or, well, everyone, you need to get up here and see this. Right away."

Kresst had already been somewhat close to the cockpit, so with some force-assistance, it did not take him long to rush up to the cockpit. Eeruna was waiting, looking at a small hologram from a paused message her droid was projecting in front of them. Kresst recognized the man to be Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, but he was not sure if he should believe it to be an encouraging sight, especially given Eeruna's grim expression.

The message played once everyone had gathered. Machs helmet clattered as it fell to the ground, Mevenn fell to her knees as tears streamed down her face. It wasn't just them, theirs were not the only clones that had been affected by this 'Order 66' whatever it was. The Jedi Temple had fallen, the Republic had fallen. They had believes that the war was over, everything she had known throughout her life was now gone. There was nothing left. Objects in the room begun to shake as she struggled to keep her emotions in check, the Force vibrating as turmoil poured out of her. It surged for a moment before she clenched down on her emotions and stopped herself lashing out. It had been a trying time for the young Jedi, and times were not going to be getting any easier. It was obvious that this was going to make or break here, and at this period of time it wasn't clear what way it was going to go.

Mevenn stood herself back up, Machs hand on her shoulder giving her a renewed energy. She turned to face Kresst. "What now Master?"

Kresst's emotions were somewhat harder to judge from the outside than Mevenn's, but he was certainly not happy to have his fears manifest into reality, and in even worse ways than he had imagined. He had feared there would be turmoil if the clones had turned against the Jedi on a galactic scale, but for the Republic to have fallen...

"Eeruna, please take us out of Republic, or...Imperial territory." Kresst said, not bringing his eyes up to meet hers. In their current situation, he was not expecting any objections to taking that step right away. "We do what Master Kenobi told us to do. We trust in the Force. In each other. The war is over, and now we have to survive the galaxy it has created. The Republic defeated the Separatists, but it seems it was the enemy who was truly victorious."

As Kresst finished, the droid chimed in with slow, sad, and hesitant beeps. It informed them of other information it had been gathering from the holonet as they had watched Master Kenobi's message. The Galactic Republic had been officially restructured into the first Galactic Empire by now-Emperor Palpatine. The Jedi had been declared traitors after a supposed coup attempt, and after an impassioned speech by Palpatine, there appeared to be public support for the measure.

There was a drill as a warning beep started going off indicating that there was something coming. Mevenn looked up and out of the window . She could sense something coming, she looked up as a triangle vessel appeared out of the darkness. She ran and sat in the co-pilot seat, pouring over the controls. Mevenn sighed. "We need to get out of here. That's the Excelsior, home to the 104th. Wolf-Pack, that's Plo Koons ship." There was more trilling as alarms fighters launched, she grabbed the controls and yanked the Nightfury in a vertical loop.

The Comm unit chimed active. "This is Commander Yills. We have reason to believe you may be harbouring Jedi traitors aboard. Stand down and prepare to be boarded immediately or we will open fire. To any clones, by authorisation by the Supr-Emperor. Execute-" Mevenn hit the comm unit, cutting out the transmission as she turned back with a sheepish look to Mach. "You probably didn't want to hear that. Go man a gun, Master. You may want to find somewhere to buckle in, see if you can find a nearby Separatist system."

Mach turned before leaving the cockpit. "Separatist?"

"We're safer there than in Republic space."

As soon as the danger was made clear, Eeruna leapt into action without a hint of hesitation or uncertainty. She took the pilot's seat and took over the controls, showing fierce determination in every centimeter of her large eyes. "C2, divert all nonessential power to engines and rear deflector shields, and get that hyperdrive powered up. Destination, give me a destination." She said in an almost demanding tone towards Mevenn and Kresst.

"Are we...sure we want to go to Separatist space? If the war is over, then surely the, um, Empire will want to re-occupy the formerly dissenting worlds quickly." Kresst pointed out, bringing up a galaxy map on the display. "Muunilinst is the closest Separatist world along this hyperspace route, but the Empire may want to occupy it soon. Perhaps just somewhere remote? Let's see...this planet, Dantooine, may be an option. Remote, agrarian, far from anything important."

"Then we're going there. C2, get those coordinates into the hyperdrive." Eeruna abruptly interrupted, not giving any time for debate. Up to this point, she had not shown anywhere near this sort of abrasiveness, or apparent disregard for the authority the Jedi were supposed to hold. In this moment, with a Venator Star Destroyer on their tail and fighters gaining on them, she was making quick and decisive judgements.

What might have seemed strange to anyone paying close enough attention was the fact that Eeruna was not taking the ship directly away from the Venator. Rather, she was moving the ship down somewhat lower into the planet's orbit. The world at which they had stopped was the site of a space battle between the Republic and Separatists earlier in the war, and Eeruna was pointing them straight at a debris field still orbiting the planet. It would be difficult to navigate, and seemingly advantageous to the fighters pursuing them.

The ARC-170s and V-Wings swung in behind the Nightfury. Blasts starting to bounce of the rear shields. Mevenn shook her head. "Separatist Territory has the advantage that we're not going to be instantly shot at just for being Jedi. At least that's the hope. But Dantooine can work while we plan our next move." She tried to scour her head through all the mission briefings she had been subject too during the last couple of years of the war. Up until being sent on this mission she was up to date on the comings and goings of the various fleets, their compositions and deployment patterns. There was no doubt that this would likely be changing in the coming days but for now it gave them some form of advantage. "Dantooine is off the patrol paths in that region, really we're off it right now but with battles having taken place here I'm not surprised a ship showed up just to make sure everythings quiet. I can't imagine all the Separatists are going quietly with their loss off the war."

She winced as the entire ship shook. Turning to face Kresst. "You may want to buckle in." Then Mevenn focused her attention on the pilot. "You fly, I'll take shields and weapons?"

Kresst gave a nod towards Mevenn. "We can worry about finding a long-term place to stay once we're out of this. Right now, we just need a place where we can calm down and take stock of the situation." He replied before moving to strap himself in as best as he could.

"If you have the experience to sense incoming impacts, then sure." Eeruna answered. The Nightfury was rapidly closing in on the debris field, with the fighters and Venator closing in behind them. "That Venator is capable of about a thousand Gs more acceleration than this cruiser, so we can't outrun it. Our only way out is hyperspace, and we'll last longer against the fighters than that capital ship."

Moments later, Eeruna brought the ship through the middle of the fractured remains of a Lucrehulk control ship, then took a tight turn into the debris field. It momentarily brought them out of the line of sight of the pursuing fighters, but they would be quick to follow. What was more important was that the Star Destroyer could not follow them, and the debris would provide cover from its turbolasers and tractor beam.

Already, Eeruna was having to put the ship through some tight maneuvers to avoid the more dangerously large obstacles in their path. "I'll avoid what I can, but this ship is a brick compared to those fighters, and there are some gaps it just won't fit through. You're going to have to divert power to the right spots on the deflector shields only when it's needed, else those fighters will overwhelm us too quickly."

The ship twisted and turned. Mevenn thrown around her crash harness. Closing her eyes, it would have made her more comfortable if the Jedi at the helm had been an actual Jedi rather than a member of the Service Corps, but then this was Eerunas ship. Also being part of the service corps it was always possible she had some form of Force Sensitivity, but just hadn't made the cut into becoming a fully fledged Padawan. She reached out in the Force as she channelled the Force through herself, adopting a kind of double vision. She saw possibilities before they even happened, saw the contact with the shields from debris at the moment of impact. Shifting the shielding before they actually came true. Of course shields did little good against kinetic hits, but that was part of the issue. She had to ensure everything was shielded for when the fighters managed to land some stray shots, lest their weakened shields from the kinetic blows fail and the blaster bolts break through.

"You may wish to find somewhere to jump too soon, we've got minor breaches all over the hull. If this keeps up much longer we won't have the integrity to jump to Hyperspace."

"If we can get just a little farther in this debris field, we can get close enough to the hyperlane to make the jump quickly. Just put some pressure on those fighters." Eeruna answered. The debris gave them cover from the heavy lasers of the Venator, but the fighters were just about to turn into the line-of-sight of their ship. She had a feeling that they were not going to be holding their fire.

Their retrofitted Consular-class ship, while armed, was hardly specialized for war like the starfighters. It was highly unlikely they would simply be able to destroy all of their pursuers, so they would have to be creative to at least put more damage onto them than expected. "Like I said, this ship is like a brick..." Eeruna began, quickly searching for the path ahead with the least density in debris, at which point she tilted the ship while briefly cutting the engines, allowing the vessel to drift straight ahead at an angle under its own inertia. "...luckily for us, I know how to fly a brick."

Just as the fighters entered the debris field behind them, Eeruna had maneuvered the ship to enough of an angle to optimally overlap the firing arcs of nearly every laser cannon straight towards their angle of approach for a surprise attack.

As the ship drifted, and the fighters swung into the line of fire. The cannons thrummed with energy as Mach fired the cannons from a central terminal deeper within the ship. The fighters swerved as they tried to avoid the bolts of deadly energy. Some managed to avoid the initial glances, their shields flickering as some managed to swerve to avoid the majority of the fire. Others were obliterated as they were struck head on. Their debris joining that in the battlefield that the Nightfury was swinging through. Mevenn continued to key in various commands to the console before her. Controlling the flow of the shields as they continued to get peppered by micro-debris and laser bolts. The ship continued to shudder and groan as the fighters passed over, swinging around as cannon bolts continued to lace the space around the vessel. Chasing them.

The Venator continued to bear down on them, it's inferior manoeuvrability struggling to navigate the debris field safely in order to get a clear shot. As fighters were destroyed, more launched from the belly of the beast. Mevenn diverted power from all non-essential systems to the shields and the hyperdrive. Lighting all over the ship dimmed to emergency red lighting to compensate for the drain in power. "You may know how to fly a brick, but can you fly it into hyperspace?"

Just as quickly as Eeruna had started the ambush, she hit the engines again after the remaining fighters started to disperse from their formation, and narrowly avoided the fractured hull of a Munificent-class frigate in the process. She heard Mevenn's quip, but at this point, was far to focused to give any reply. Mach was certainly a competent gunner and Mevenn could manage the shields near perfectly, but it was all just delaying until Eeruna could get them out.

Eeruna had little issue avoiding any path that would give the Venator a clear shot, but the fighters were unavoidably pounding the shields. One starfighter managed to get a long enough strafing run to partially damage the leftmost engine, forcing Eeruna to slow down from the reduction in mobility. C2 was able to redirect some extra power from engines to shields, but it would not make too much of a difference.

Fortunately, the debris field gave the starfighters just enough trouble as well that they were able to get near to its end. Eeruna glanced over to C2. "Hyperdrive ready?" She asked, which was met with a few affirmative beeps. "Good, then we'll jump from here."

The moment that Eeruna indicated the coordinates from which she planned to make the jump, the droid beeped erratically, though Eeruna's composure remained unmoved. "I know that's still inside the debris field...yes, I'm perfectly aware that I can't survive becoming 'dust'...just shut your vocabulator."

Turning the ship once more, Eeruna pulled them close to a derelict Venator, just barely managing to turn them tight enough to allow them to fly close to the dorsal side of the wrecked ship. Having the Nightfury so close to the Venator meant that the starfighters could not effectively attack from two sides, funneling them into chasing from the rear. Mach would not have the best angles on some fighters, but Mevenn could focus everything the shields had left towards one side.

The derelict Venator had nearly been split in half during the battle that had destroyed it. The massive hanger was a structural weakpoint for the vessel, so a large hole had been blown clean through the vessel, which Eeruna was heading straight towards. Just like with her ambush not a minute before, she she cut the engines and sent the ship into a slow spin while it moved forward on its own inertia. The fighters were now mostly on one side of them, and Mach again had clear angles, but her true motivation presented itself clearly through the windows of the cockpit. Through the middle of the destroyed Venator was a path into empty space, and to the hyperlane that served as their only hope of escape. However, while the breach was more than large enough for their ship to fit through, it was not a clean path. Plenty of smaller bits of debris were floating in the gap, so they only had a small window to make the jump successfully.

The Nightfury floated towards its jump point, now nearly perpendicular to the Venator. Their position needed to be nearly perfect, as just a few degrees of insufficient or extra spin would be the difference between a successful escape, and having their own debris scattered across the next light year or two. Eeruna was not navigating with the ship's sensors, the display for which she had shut off entirely, nor was she even just looking out the window, as her eyes were closed. She focused, breathing slowly with her hand over the button that would activate the hyperdrive, for good or ill.

There was hardly any sound in the cockpit when Eeruna finally pressed the button, apart from C2's quite loud and alarmed beeping. The stars ahead of them seemed to turn to lines around them as the ship made its jump, leaving their pursuers with nothing but empty space instead of a target.

It took a few seconds after the jump for Eeruna to finally open her eyes. She finally leaned back and allowed her armed to relax down by her sides, though a perceptive eye could see some shaking in her hands. "C2, please compile a damage report." She said dryly, breaking the silence.

Mevenn was thrown back in her seat as the ship made the jump to lightspeed. She stood up, her whole body shaking. Her previous impervious nature to combat had been shaken. She was no longer impartial to it. The ship rocked through hyperspace towards its destination, the trip was short. There was an air of uneasiness as the ship shuddered occasionally. C2 an Eurena trying their best to repair what damage they could without landing. Until several hours later they dropped out of hyperspace above the world of Dantooine. She sat in the co-pilot seat again. "I have an issue." She said as the ship was pulling towards the planet. "How are we going to get landing permission? I don't think we really want to say who we are, as we don't know what could happen."

She turned to Kresst, looking at his Jedi robes. "We maybe want to get you a change of outfit too."

Eeruna looked back over her shoulder towards Mevenn. "You're probably right on that. It's a guarantee that the Empire is going to be tracking us. It's easy enough to lie about who we are and what we're doing, but we can't lie about the ship's ID codes. Still...this place is remote, and there are plenty of places like it we could gone to from where we jumped. Even if they've put out an alert on this ship, I doubt word of it would've gotten here yet. Best to get in and out quickly, though, unless you just love tempting fate. The ship isn't exactly in danger of falling apart or anything, but unless we at least get that engine fixed up, we're not going to be surviving another encounter like that."

Kresst, by this point, had managed to walk off any soreness from the battle. He had strapped himself in as suggested, but as with so many other things in the galaxy, his seat's restraints had not been ideal for one of his size. Nevertheless, he was unharmed and focused on their current task: survival. "You both make fair points. We likely should not plan on staying here for too long. This is a vessel for Republic diplomats, so we should follow the most reasonable explanation. We were returning from a diplomatic mission and were beset by pirates, but managed to escape with some minor damage. And I do agree that it would be wise not to associate ourselves with the Jedi Order in any way."

Pausing a moment, Kresst too looked up and down Mevenn's clone armor. "Though, I think the same might be said for the Republic military. It would not be unusual for diplomats to receive a clone escort, but to the best of my knowledge, there are not any female clones. We may both wish to disguise ourselves. Although...I do not actually have any clothing with me that are not Jedi robes. I don't suppose you have anything in my size, do you?" Kresst's beak was not exactly capable of forming a smile, but there was some recognizable humor in his tone.

Mevenn had her turn for a wry grin. "True, there are not many female Clone Troopers. However you're forgetting this isn't standard Clone Armour." She stood up, clipping her lightsaber into one of the pockets on her belt. "Nice to meet you-" She mockingly extended her hand. "-Ryn. Bounty Hunter in the outer-rim, and security consultant for a Republic Envoy who just wanted to tell the Republic about a little pirate problem the little birds of his world were having." Her whole body went rigid and on alert as Mach entered the cockpit. "Mach will probably need to stay in the ship. Can't run the risk that someone recognises him for a clone out of his armour. Two bounty hunters walking around in Clone Armour would be a bit of a harder selling point as well." While Mach likely would be oblivious to it, there was an element of fear and apprehension surrounding Mevenn as she spoke. Mevenns emotions had been unbalanced since their mission, jumping from one extreme to the next as they jumped from one crisis to another. Though it was clear that while many of the issues between Mevenn and Mach as individuals were solved, her issues with Clones were ongoing. The guilt, the pain and the shame. All conflicting within her.

"Our best bet is to play what we look like, that'll get us the best available help and let us get on our way. Request that port authority doesn't contact the Republic as we don't want the pirates to come track us down. In terms of your garb... there's bound to be something on this ship." She turned her attention to Eeruna. "It's your ship, you got any idea for other garments?"

Kresst gave a concerned look towards Mach as Mevenn was voicing her opinion, to which he, regretfully, nodded in agreement. "Yes, while it would make me more comfortable if we could all stay together, I think the cautious approach may be the best one here. You may also wish to stay away from the comms, Mach. If something does go wrong, and the Empire does find us here, we don't want to risk you being given the same order that forced your comrades against us." He explained, letting out a soft sigh. "I still don't know what it is that causes it, but whatever it is, whatever implants or...psychological conditioning you have, we will do whatever we can to help free you from it once we reach safety."

Breaking up the rather severe mood of the situation they were in, Eeruna was scratching her head and giving a few, seemingly genuinely confused looks between Mevenn and Kresst. "I mean I...doubt I have anything better for him than you do. All my clothes would be a few dozen sizes too large for him. I...let's see, I'm sure there's plenty enough cloth around if you wanted to make something, but I don't know how to sew. Do you know how to sew...because I don't." She repeated, dropping her arms down to her sides and shrugging. "What would your kind even wear? Something with...feathers?" She asked, though after a few seconds, she realized that it probably sounded like a rather stupid guess.

Kresst, however, merely laughed. "I think I have plenty enough feathers on me already, I don't think I shall be needing any more. No, I don't think the people of Mrrlst wear clothes that are too different from many other places. I think bright colors are in fashion right now, if I recall correctly." The simple subject of what to wear seemed like such a trivial, or even silly matter to worry about at the moment, but perhaps that was not a bad thing. With everything else that was going on, having something that was not life-or-death to focus their energy on, even if just for a short time, might help to clear their heads.

Mach frowned as did Mevenn, she spoke first. "I don't have sewing skills I'm afraid. It's not something I was ever trained on. Maybe had a war not erupted shortly after becoming a Padawan I'm sure I would have taken it up as an elective." She stood up as she went back in the ship looking for something that she could either fashion into clothes for Kresst, or that he could simply wear. Looting through the armoury and various closets aboard the ship. Entering one of the rooms at the rear of the ship she came across a couple of small wooden toys. A layer of dust covered the room. At some point this ship had been used for the gathering, it didn't surprise her considering the fact that the Cruicible had been destroyed by pirates, or by the Separatists. The reports weren't really clear about what had happened on florrum with Padawan Tano and the younglings.

She picked up a colourful shirt, and some trousers. She couldn't be entirely sure that they were exactly the right size, Mevenn returned to the cockpit and passed the clothes over to him. "I don't know if these will be, perfect, but we're running the possibility that people here have never met another member of your kind so we can probably get away with it if they don't fit quite right."

Kresst took the clothing that Mevenn offered without any argument, and indeed, his tone was still somewhat upbeat. "What fortune for us. Perhaps, even with all that has happened, the Force is still with us. I shall go change and ready myself to act the part of diplomat. Though, thinking about it, perhaps I should not be a diplomat for Mrlsst, specifically. The planet is on the exact opposite side of the Core, after all...with a population of non-Mrlssi over five billion strong, and several universities of galaxy-wide fame. There is a non-insignificant chance that someone here might be familiar with it."

As Kresst left the cockpit, Eeruna spoke with the port authority at one of the planet's few cities, though "large town" might have been a more accurate description. The whole of the planet was only sparsely populated, especially by galactic standards. She had sent the ship's ID codes, and as of yet, there did not seem to be any unusual delays or anything else that might be considered suspicious. But, only time would tell if they were going to have problems sooner rather than later.

Eeruna looked back over her shoulder towards Mevenn. "Whatever story you go with, I need to talk with a parts trader. Luckily, all the parts we're going to need are pretty standard, but still...let's just hope this middle-of-nowhere little town actually has what we need. And that we can still spend these Republic credits we have. I mean, I certainly don't think that the Empire would go and invalidate their own currency, since that sounds like a stupid idea. But, I also wouldn't have thought that the Senate would vote to install an autocratic Empire, so what do I know?"

It did not take long for Kresst to change and return to the others. He had simply selected whichever set of clothes he felt could be passed off as the most expensive, though none of them had been particularly lavish by any means. For the role he was meant to be playing, he at least needed to be able to give the appearance of being moderately well-off. He was wearing a long, blue shirt with simple red an orange patterns that looked intentionally loose-fitting and somewhat covered his comparatively plain trousers. He also wore a thin red shawl wrapped around his neck and shoulders, which looked to be more for decoration than warmth. Anything that might look out of place on him, most notably his lightsaber, he kept on the belt he was wearing under his clothes.
