Same clinic, same situation as Decimate's character is about to wake up in, with its current state approximately summarized here, albeit for another character.

@Dark Jack Should I go ahead and post Nigel's nightmare and waking up then or should I save that for after an intro post from you? Sorry about all the questions by the way, I always like to be on the safe side when in more heavy GMed games.

It's no trouble. Whichever you prefer, really; if you want/can, you are free to post Nigel's awakening whenever you're ready. If you want me to introduce the character, all you need to do is ask (though there isn't a lot to introduce given that he's currently comatose).

@Dark Jack I'll get on coming up with an opening post for him after I grab a bite of lunch. I'm real excited to get going!

Do you want to introduce your character now, too, @Decimate, or should I work on a post reacting to Nigel's awakening?

Welp, my post is up. Sorry for the contrasting quality. I had some time at work so I tried to bang out most of it on my phone.

Anyways, I'm good with the land being called Pthumeru @Dark Jack. I'm kind of in agreement with @DrabberRogue that Yharnam's probably isolationist more than a capital or prominent city. They're not fond of "outsiders" and blood ministration doesn't seem to be practiced beyond Yharnam's limits much if people are traveling to Yharnam in search of blood healing.

I will try to get a post out this weekend, then.

My main problem with it still being called Pthumeru would be that it would make it weird for the twisted semi-undead from the old labyrinth to be called "Pthumerians" if "Pthumerian" could actually refer to anyone from the country. It is strongly suggested in the game (if not downright stated, but I can't seem to find any references to such a statement) that "Pthumeru" fell long ago around the time of Queen Yharnam and the stillbirth of Mergo, which would make the current country more of a successor state.
Eh... the more I look into it and try to see patterns in naming, the less certain I feel that I could come up with something original that would fit. I'm thinking it may be best to call the country something derivative from Pthumeru, yet different enough that the people of Yharnam don't get confused. I was thinking "Pumeria".

EDIT: Had time to properly read your post now, Decimate, and I must stay that I'm both intrigued by Ludolf's dream and pleased with your writing. Well done.

EDIT2: Decided not to wait, post is up.

Well, it depends on what you're envisioning. If we're still going with it being the capital of a country, Pumeria works fine to me. It would just mean that most of the original descendants spread out somewhere & the country is probably small given how closely they're hoarding their powers of blood ministration. If it's more of a city-state like @DrabberRogue described, then the land is probably called "Yharnam" as well with a few satellite bergs, hamlets, castles, and villages such as the fishing village where the atrocities took place. From there, players could name their own lands if they're coming from somewhere else and/or make use of the other countries mentioned in the game? (i.e. the place where Yamamura is from, the place where Cainhurst is acquiring their weapons, the probably mountainous place where the Hunters of Hunters are supposed to have originated from)

EDIT: Had time to properly read your post now, Decimate, and I must say that I'm both intrigued by Ludolf's dream and pleased with your writing. Well done.

Thanks! I had some fun writing that one!

As for the posts, are we posting in order or just whenever? I'd ideally like to give @rocketrobie2 some time to get a post together, but I'd also prefer getting my next post out by Sunday/Monday night when I'm not working.

EDIT: Just 2. I think this "Eastern" country might be the same place Cainhurst got their weapons from. I forgot Yamamura wields a Chikage.

How I usually like to do posting is not in a strict order, but rather on a basis of "raise your hand if you would like to post," essentially like you just did, Decimate. Let the rest of us know that you want to post, and if someone has any objections on grounds of them wanting to post first then it's up to them to say so. Communication, as I've stressed many times now, is key.

At the moment things are kinda happening all at the same time, so I don't imagine it would be too much of an issue if you went ahead and posted.

Yeah go ahead and post! Just a heads up, I've got most of my finals this week so I won't be able to post very much if at all. I'll try to squeeze something in the middle of studying but no promises.

No worries! I've started on a post. Just haven't had much time to actually work on it thanks to some leftover irl stuff. It should probably be up tonight or tomorrow. Sorry for the delay!

Nice! Definitely enjoyed Victor's perceptions here. I should have mine up around the weekend again.

By the way, I don't remember if I put this anywhere future (which is also to say most of the current) players could see it, but I purposefully don't necessarily describe everything in a scene to the greatest possible detail or with perfect accuracy. I will usually mention plainly obvious things in a scene that pretty much anyone would be able to perceive without even trying - or, when I'm writing from the perspective of a particular character rather than a disembodied narrator, describe what that character in particular is perceiving - but there might be more that I'm not mentioning, or that the characters wouldn't be able to know without making an effort to figure out.
For instance, earlier (before you joined, Decimate and rocketrobie) Victor was searching the remains of a destroyed cabinet in the reception of the clinic (the room adjacent to where the characters are currently) and found a box that has yet to be examined more closely. I had described the debris, but not hinted that there was anything in there.

Now, I don't intend this to be either an escape-room-ish you-need-to-look-specifically-at-everything-one-pixel-at-a-time nor a table-top kind of situation where you can fail skill-checks or dice rolls. My idea is that if a character wants to actively try to perceive something somehow, you just say so and I will supply the results of their surveying. Focused examination will give a very detailed description, and broad examination (say, "look around and listen carefully") a more general description, though probably still more detailed than what I throw at you "for free".

If you at any point start to feel that this kind of setup is annoying or any way detrimental to your enjoyment, just say so and I will start dropping more hints as to where the characters might find interesting things.

I really like that way of going about it. Some of my favourite RPs are the ones with mechanics to them that makes information or progressing the story a moderate challenge.

Also sorry for not posting in a hot minute! Been de-stressing from school finishing and the guild dell to my wayside. I'm going to try to get a post up later today!

Just in case it's a concern, I'm assuming that you still want to post, Decimate, and wait for you before I write one of my own.
