SHINING PATH

Shining Path, a socialist revolutionary movement, took inspiration from the Old World's revolutionary movements to protest the Stellar Confederacy. At the start of its foundation, their goal was to get the attention of the Confederate Parliament and accept the Six Demands. The first, and most important, demand called for the restoration of selected laws and bills scrapped by corporations. The second demand called for anti-monopoly and corporate tax laws to be enacted. The third called for the resignation and arrest of wealthy individuals and politicians that played a part in the transfer of powers to corporations. The fourth requested an independent committee investigate alleged brutality against protesters (and bystanders) from the police, military forces, and PMCs bought over by corporations. The fifth ordered an amnesty for arrested protesters and the sixth, and final, demand called for the abolishment of the Confederacy in favor of independence.

Unsurprisingly, their demands were avoided and resulted in a surprising attack that killed twenty-two people. Shining Path kept on protesting for months while doing whatever peaceful options were available that brought attention from the media. While in the background, several members started talking about stockpiling supplies and weaponry for a possible attack against Airwave, a drone company responsible for producing drones for the Confederacy and PMCs. Leadership knew of the matter and decided against stopping them but did condemn the idea of attacking Airwave.

Then, the news reached Frontier Post.

Earth ended in a nuclear war, bringing the Stellar Confederacy down with them. Everyone on Frontier Post was horrified and sadden by the news even the Shining Path. But, several members saw this moment as their only chance to strike while everyone was still caught off-guard. That triggered the leadership into an emergency session, where they voted whether to strike or not. Four of the two leading members voted in favor of attacking, starting with Airwave to find out if their Frontier Post headquarters secretly housed an underground factory used to produce military-grade drones for the former Confederacy.

Persons of Interest
Zhan Yijun - Leader of the Shining Path.
Marie-Hélène Leloup - Lead Correspondent of Pandora's Lantern and spokepwerson for Shining Path.
Sadiki Saliba - Organizer of the Elliot Square protest and its upcoming occupation.
Amalia Hart - General of Shining Path forces and owner of Amalia's Armory.
Isabel Barceló - Director of Intelligence and active agent for Shining Path.
Carol Morris - Chief Engineer and Technical of the Shining Path

Resources
Much of their supplies come in the form of donations from other protesters, anonymous sources, or supportive citizens.

Strengths

  • Hardened Protestors - Shining Path has always been fighting the hard fight since their creation. Their members had been pepper sprayed, tear gassed, and brtually beaten by counterprotesters, the authorities, and PMCs hired by corporations. Yet, that has never stopped them for protesting their demands. Those within leadership also had their fair share of scars from the protests and riots.
  • Liberation Square - Known as Elliot Square by the locals, Liberation Square is planned to become the starting grounds of the resistance due to its strategic location. It's close to the several high-rising buildings that overlook the downtown district. And in addition, the Airwave headquarters is next to the square along with a police station.
  • Blinding Light - A secret weapon that has been worked on for months by Amalia in her armory. It was a powerful flashbang and thermite capable of melting through metals while blinding anyone nearby.

Weaknesses

  • Frontier Post - The first trading post established when humanity ventured out beyond the Solar System. Frontier Post was their first attempt at establishing a colony far away from Earth and it worked. Eventually, it became the most populated megacity in the Confederacy making them influential within the political and corporate world. Despite the Confederate being wiped out and several major corporations hurt economically, their presence is still stronger than anywhere else within the galaxy—that also includes their military.
  • Vilified - The media in Frontier Post was already brought out by corporations with right-leaning biases. It should come as no surprise that they are going to vilify the Shining Path even more as the liberation movement begins. That's why Pandora's Lantern has been established: to fight back against any false information about them.
  • Surrounded on All Sides - Once the resistance begins, there's no doubt in mind that the military will respond accordingly. It would depend on the strength that the movement manages to gain during the confusion especially if the Airwave is successfully occupied. Otherwise, the might of the former Confederacy military are more than ready to take on resistance fighters.

In defiance, the Princess steals from the island's armory and escorts Steve to the docks. But before boarding a boat, they were caught by the Queen and the Amazons. Diana of Themyscira, 1918 (b. ~50 AD)
Former Ambassador of JSA Achaeologist Adventure
Themiscyra, Turkey Gateway City, United States London, England

Active since 1916 (52 years)

Character Concept

"I have witnessed the beauty and the ugliness of man."

Inspirations: The Age of Adaline, Tomb Raider, Indiana Jones, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Blood of Zeus, and Madam Secretary.

I love Wonder Woman because her character makes it easy to write about the politics of the era at one moment and then write her kicking some asses. This RP being set in the middle of the Cold War is so perfect. It only has been twenty-three years since the end of the Second World War. That presents me with the opportunity to have Diana reunite with her friends and enemies during the war. While finally playing around with the Greek mythology that I usually avoid because of realism. And of course, she will have plenty of time to be Wonder Woman in an ever-changing world.

I have to apologize for the long background on Diana. I got carried away. Hopefully, you are able to tolerate the rough timeline that I made as a TL;DR. And apologize for not finishing both of them, I promised to post today and so I am doing that. Plus, I am waiting for other sheets so I don't bother to make too many adjustments (writing the code for this post is annoying as hell). Hopefully, once it's completely done, you will enjoy reading my sheet completely.

Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, sculpted a baby girl out of clay from the shore and began pleading to the Olympians to bring it to life. Sympathetic to Hippolyta's request, Zeus (the King of Olympus) brought consciousness to the clay statue with his thunder while the other Olympians granted the newborn the gifts of great strength (Demeter), wisdom and courage (Athena), a hunter's heart and a communion with animals (Artemis), beauty and loving heart (Aphrodite), sisterhood with fire (Hestia), speed and the ability of flight (Hermes), the lungs of a hippokampos (Poseidon), a toxophilite's sight and arms (Apollo), the mind of a hardened general (Ares), hands of an artisan (Hephaestus), and the sense of liberation along with her blood turning into wine (Dionysus). Then, she was given the name of Diana.

Princess Diana grew up surrounded by a legion of sisters and mothers, who all treated her like a daughter, on the island of Themyscira. One of them was General Antiope, who began mentoring her into becoming part of the Amazons. Antiope and her right arm, General Philippus, immediately noticed how powerful and skilled Diana was in combat. When they brought their praises to Hippolyta, she silenced and told them to train her daughter harder than anyone else until she was better than them. Then, she ordered them to never speak to her about Diana's training ever again. Hippolyta remained protective of her daughter even as she matured into adulthood.

But then, an unexpected visitor crashlanded near Themyscira and was saved from drowning by Princess Diana. The outsider was brought to the infirmary to treat his wounds and then to the throne room for questioning. Queen Hippolyta used the Lasso of Hestia, a golden lariat that forced anyone captured within it to tell the truth, to get her answers. The stranger revealed himself as Captain Steve Trevor of the Royal Flying Corps, who was trying to flee after the failed invasion of Gallipoli. Then, he talked about the Great War and how it became a stalemate between both sides. Feeling compelled to help Man's World out of the terrible war, Diana pleaded with her mother to help them.

Hippolyta told her no and then forbade her from talking about it.

So, in the act of defiance, Diana snuck into the island's armory and stole the Themysciran sword, the Lasso of Hestia, the Bracelets of Submission, and Amazonian battle armor. And then, she found Steve and told him she was going to help him. But while attempting to sneak to the docks, both of them were caught by Queen Hippolyta and the Amazons. She tried to talk her daughter out of leaving, but Diana remained adamant that she was going to help Man's World. That was when mother and daughter challenged each other in combat. Using everything she learned from her childhood, Diana managed to overwhelm Hippolyta and won the challenge.

Hippolyta warned that leaving the island meant banishment for life, but she knew that it wouldn't change her daughter's mind. Hence, she gave Diana her tiara and then bid her farewell. General Antiope was also there to say her goodbyes and gave her student her personal bow. While General Philippus gifted her own shield from protection before bidding her friend farewell. Then, Diana and Steve departed Themyscira and sailed for Europe, specifically France. Once there, the Amazonian was amazed by what Man's World offered and began exploring the port city of Nice.

Then, she learned about the Western Front and immediately marched towards it to end the Great War.

Diana arrived at a French village that the German army started burning while villagers were caught in the chaos. Despite Steve's warnings, she leaped into action and saved a family trapped inside a burning building. When German soldiers saw her and the family, they opened fire without warning and hesitation; but, they were petrified when Diana blocked all of the bullets with her bracelets. Steve Trevor watched in amazement as she dealt with hostiles in a matter of seconds. The survivors retreated from the village without successfully destroying it.

Days later, Allied Intelligence learned of the encounter and decided to send a group to investigate the rumor. The group met up with Captain Steve Trevor and his friend, Diana Prince, who was more eager to leave for the frontline. Sensing an opportunity, Charlie McKenna brought them to the trenches of Fromelles, where British intel feared the Germans were planning to strike. And their fears were right when heavy artillery bombardment began in the afternoon. Within seconds, Diana went on the defensive and began blocking the shells with her shield. Then, she started her counterattack against an incoming German regiment and overwhelmed them with ease. Charlie was astonished by what he witnessed on the day and immediately brought Diana to his superiors for analysis.

In London, there doubt amongst generals and commanders whether it was a good idea to send a woman into the fight or not. Diana interrupted the debate and made herself clear that she was going to stop the Great War with or without their support. So, with that in mind, the British military created a separate task force to take down high ranking officers from the Central Powers while disrupting chemical weapons production. During the course of the war, the task force made successful raids across Germany and Austria-Hungary. On one of their raids, they managed to capture the infamous Doctor Poison (a nickname from Doctor Isabel Maru), a toxicologist responsible for creating chemical weapons for the German military. That arrest caught the attention of the press within Allied countries—primarily Britain and France.

It was when they began referring to her as Wonder Woman.

Two years after Diana's arrival to Man's World, the Great War ended with the Armistice of Compiègne and then the Treaty of Versailles. With the task force disbanded and newfound peace, Diana didn't know what to do once the Great War ended. Thankfully, she wasn't alone. Steve Trevor and the task force members made efforts to ensure that she felt comfortable at her new home. They traveled across Europe while helping the citizens rebuild badly damaged communities along the Western Front. Her deeds made her beloved by Flanders' people, who welcomed her into their homes with open arms.

Throughout the Interwar Period, Diana became somewhat accustomed to Man's World while gaining a foothold in politics. Especially when Hitler was appointed Chancellor of the German Reich and began his campaign against the Jewish population. From 1933 to 1938, she heavily criticized German leadership while defending the innocent from the authorities' beatings. And when the Nuremberg Laws were enacted, Wonder Woman began publicly helping them flee the country for fear of their safety. However, her efforts were ceased when she was barred from setting foot on German soil because of the Munich Agreement. It caused her to feel angry while most of Europe celebrated it, which included Steve Trevor, believing that peace prevailed.

Sadly, they were wrong.

When the German Reich took over Czechoslovakia, violating the Munich Agreement, Britain and France realized that peace had failed and began preparing for war. The task force was assembled once more to protect the Allied countries from German aggression. And then, the invasion of Poland took place seven months after the task force's formation. Wonder Woman got prepared to assist the Polish army against the aggressive German offensive. Instead, Allied Command told her that she and her squad had to remain at the Western Front. She planned on disobeying orders until Steve calmed her down and convinced her to listen. So, she did.

And she hated herself for giving up so easily. In fact, the Maginot Line remained largely undisturbed while the enemy conquered Scandinavian until nine months later. A German man, wearing an armored suit, began calling for Wonder Woman to challenge him in combat. Referring to himself as Roter Panzer (German: Red Tank), Helmut Streicher proclaimed himself to be the Third Reich's answer to Wonder Woman. Diana accepted the request thinking another victory was within grasp. However, she underestimated him. Equipped with an arm cannon, capable of releasing concussive blasts, and a nearly indestructible armor, Helmut gave her a fight that proved to be a struggle for the first time on Man's World.

Yet, Diana was able to overwhelm Roter Panzer and damage his armor significant enough to deactivate the arm cannon. While the German army fell back to their Siegfried Line without their hero, their celebration was cut short when they realized the attack was a distraction from the real German army to invade the Low Countries. Realizing they only had weeks until the Nazis reached Paris, British Command ordered all Allied forces to withdrawal to Dunkirk for an evacuation. Wonder Woman and her squad were ordered to safeguard Helmut from questioning. But then, German forces surrounded Dunkirk and started advancing towards the beach. In the chaos, Roter Panzer managed to free himself and killed Charlie when his arm cannon reactivated. Diana tried to get revenge, but he was saved by a German regiment, and the squad was forced to retreat.

But there was enough time to grab Charlie's body.

On the first full day of the evacuation, Diana managed to get a boat for Charlie and her remaining squad and then volunteer to stay behind and help out at the perimeter. Steve attempted to stay with her before being restrained by her request. Wonder Woman felt relieved to watch the British destroyer departing the harbor, knowing that her friends were safe. Then, she returned to the fight. The evacuation took eight more days before it finally ended, but it was the most traumatic experience in her life, equating it to spending eternity in Tartarus. Even years after the Miracle of Dunkirk, she still refused to talk about some days because they were too painful to remember.

After the operation was deemed complete, the unconscious body of Wonder Woman was washed up on the shores of Dover. Upon the discovery, witnesses rushed her to the nearest hospital, where she went into surgery to remove the bullets. The procedure took hours because there were so many inside that they thought she wasn't going to survive the day. Fortunately, she did and began her recovery. Though her wounds healed and her strength returned, there were still so many scars—physical and mental—that doctor recommended Wonder Woman to remain away from the fighting. However, knowing that so many people depended on her, she didn't listen to them and went back to service after nearly two months in the hospital.

Upon reuniting with the task force, Diana was notified that France surrendered to the Riech after Paris had fallen. But instead of going on the offense, her task force was reduced to a defensive role as the Luftwaffe began bombing raids on British cities and industries. It was renamed Wonder Men to boost the morale of civilians and helped bombing shelters in affected cities. Wonder Woman, meanwhile, joined the Air Raid Precautions and was heavily involved in rescue services. And whenever she wasn't helping out the ARP, Diana took to the skies with the Royal Air Force to fight the Luftwaffe. She and the task force did that for eight months until the Germans started reducing bombing raids.

That was when they were given new orders to help out the Allied forces defending Tobruk from Axis forces, who had the port city under siege. One day, Polish scouts reported to Diana that Roter Panzer was spotted in Tripoli awaiting orders from General Erwin Rommel. She knew that it was the perfect opportunity to avenge the murder of her friend, Charlie. But, to prevent more losses on her side, Diana told nobody from Wonder Women about it and departed Tobruk during night time. When she got near the area where Helmut was spotted, the place appeared to be deserted, and she realized that it was a trap. It was where she met Gundra, the Third Reich's Wonder Woman.

Gundra proclaimed to be a Valkyrie sent to serve the Fatherland by Odin himself, while the Führer declared Wonder Woman to be a direct threat to the German people. So, a fight ensured. And to Diana's surprise, Gundra was strong and knew how to use a spear; but, she wasn't quick enough to dodge a slice wound. However, the Valkyrie managed to stab the spear into Diana's shoulder. Both of them were too injured to finish each other off, and Wonder Woman was forced to retreat when Roter Panzer arrived with reinforcements. Steve was waiting for her when she came back to Tobruk and tried to get the reason for her disappearance; however, she didn't provide an answer to his question.

Suddenly, the Empire of Japan launched an attack on Hawaii, practically dragging the United States into the war. That caused America to join the Allies and began preparations to send their troops over to Europe. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman and the task force were pulled out of Tobruk and sent to Southeast Asia to protect British Singapore, but the Japanese navy and army proved overwhelming for them and Allied troops stationed there. So when they started their invasion of the Philippines, the United States ordered General Douglas MacArthur to leave for Australia. Diana and her task force were assigned to protect him from any threats presented by the Japanese.

But, they weren't expecting an assassin to be in their presence. The assassin transformed into an Asian black bear and lunged toward MacArthur. Sameer was able to shove the American out of harm's way, but he was torn apart by the assassin. Wonder Woman instantly knocked him unconscious with a single punch that sent him flying. Then, she went over to her friend and knew that he was gone. With Japanese forces on their way, there was only enough to pick up Sameer's body and board the ship. Later, thanks to American intelligence, Diana learned that the assassin was Thomas Morita, a Japanese-American who defected to Japan.

Before she had the chance to mourn, Diana was introduced to the All-Star Squadron, the group of superheroes personally selected by President Roosevelt. Starman and Miss America met with her to discuss the possibility of having Wonder Woman in the squadron. She accepted on the condition that Wonder Men remained out of the All-Star business because she didn't want to bury any more of her friends. This decision angered Steve and the other members, but she didn't have time to explain herself since Allied forces requested their presence.

Wonder Woman and her task force participated in the invasion of Sicily but didn't know that Gundra was sent by the Riech to assist the Italian forces. The Valkyrie saw that the Wonder Men were all alone while Wonder Woman dealt with the coastal defenses around the island. So, she struck. Steve Trevor was knocked unconscious while Chief received a fatal blow by the spear. However, in his last moment, he managed to critically wound Gundra with his rifle and forced her to retreat. It took an hour before Diana found her task force beaten and Chief dead. Once the island was secured, she began searching for Gundra but only found a note that said she was taken back to Berlin for treatment.

Diana barely had any time to mourn her friend's death because of Operation Overlord. Allied command sent her and Steve over to occupied France to group with Captain America and his sidekick, Bucky. After meeting up, they made their way towards the city of Le Mans and found the resistance cell. It didn't take long to be introduced to Sylvia Halphen and for Steve to get her attention. The two of them became close for the few days they were working together. And while they were alone, they had a one-night stand at the headquarters; during the night, Sylvia revealed that she was a German spy named Paula von Gunther, who killed the real Sylvia Halphen.

Then, she slit his throat—ear to ear—and watched him bleed to death. While she was taking a bath (to wash away the blood), Paula didn't realize that Wonder Woman and Captain America (along with Bucky) came back earlier than expected. Diana searched for Steve until she found him tied up on the bed with his throat slit. She said nothing, noticed the bathroom door opened slightly, and pulled out her sword from the scabbard. In an instant, she opened the door and beheaded the murderer. Paula didn't have time to react or even noticed that Diana was back. In fact, Captain America and Bucky didn't notice what happened until they heard Diana screaming in pain.

Things went downhill since that night. Captain America and Bucky went missing while fighting Red Skull somewhere in the North Atlantic Ocean. Wonder Woman spent three days searching for them but was told by the British military to come back. For her efforts in the war and in Dunkirk, Diana was awarded the Victoria Cross and paraded around London on Victory in Europe Day. She didn't feel like celebrating after losing all of her friends, including Steve. The Wonder Men were celebrated and buried together at Brookwood Cemetery. On that day, the coffins of her friends were the heaviest thing Wonder Woman ever carried. Then, she attended funeral services for Captain America and Bucky. It was where she met and befriended Peggy Carter.

Diana was then sent to Allied-occupied Germany to maintain order, denazify the country, and hunt down anyone responsible for the Holocaust. She spent months there while the war with the Empire of Japan was coming to an end. Then, one day, Diana nearly fainted and didn't know why until she heard what happened to Hiroshima. Without hesitation, Wonder Woman departed and headed straight from the city. When she got there, it was in ruins like she hasn't seen in her life on Man's World. Entire blocks were leveled as the survivors desperately called out for help. Then, she went deeper into the epicenter of the devastation and saw the dead bodies of a family. Diana broke down on the spot.

She spent the entire night escorting the survivors to the two hospitals that remained standing and helping the medical staff out. Wonder Woman wanted to know who was responsible for this horrific attack on civilians. It wasn't until the following day that she learned, for a leaflet, that the United States was responsible. Wonder Woman flew to America for answers, but the All-Stars stopped her. The squadron managed to convince her to calm down and rest so they could talk about recent events. The next day, however, Diana was awakened by Miss America and warned that a second atomic bomb is going to be dropped. Wonder Woman left to go look for the bomb and make sure it's never used again.

But waiting for her was Miss America, Star-Spangled Kid, and Starman. The three of them confronted Wonder Woman and warned her to not interfere. Diana then saw a B-29 bomber taking off in the direction of Japan and attempted to follow it until she was stopped by Starman's staff. But, she managed to break free of its gasp by throwing her tiara at Starman. With the option for peace gone, Star-Spangled Kid called the All-Star's remaining members to apprehend Wonder Woman. After a half-hour of fighting, Diana didn't manage to stop the atomic bomb and watched in horror as Nagasaki was bombed. With no more reason to fight, Wonder Woman surrendered to the All-Stars.

Yet, Starman released her and allowed her to help the people of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. And that's what she did, avoiding calls from the British military for months. Then, Starman returned with an invitation to join the Justice Society of America as their ambassador to the United Nations. Diana hesitated for a second but accepted his offer, believing that it was a way for her to maintain peace. Once she was done in Japan, Diana returned to Europe and began helping with reconstruction efforts across Europe while representing the JSA at the United Nations. She helped fight the Injustice Society whenever they were a threat to the world.

Then, despite her efforts in saving Washington D.C. from Ultra-Humanite, Wonder Woman was branded as a communist sympathizer during the height of the Red Scare. It made her the first superhero to be branded by the American government. While some members started to treat her differently, Diana remained as their ambassador for some time. Wonder Woman began to call for the disarmament of nuclear weapons, realizing how close the world came to an end during the Cuban Missile Crisis. And then, the United States got involved in the Vietnam War. Diana condemned it, stating that America was actively avoiding the struggles of its poor by going to war. It caused the American ambassador to the United Kingdom to call her a communist sympathizer.

In spite of pressure from the United States, Diana chose to remain the JSA's ambassador for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, she became interested in archaeology after Themiscyra was discovered in Turkey. Using her vast wealth, Diana brought the recently discovered ancient city for herself to learn more about the Amazons. She considered turning it into her home because of how similar it was to Themyscira. Wonder Woman kept on traveling to Vietnam War, protecting civilians from American troops. And even participated in the Civil Rights movement, protecting Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X from harm. Even as Man's World was still changing, Wonder Woman never gave up on it and its people—for better or worse.

SHINING PATH

March 15, 2259
A NEW DAWN

Hidden Location, Frontier Post
Earth was destroyed. That was what the local media was declaring in a breaking news segment. All across Frontier Post, thousands of people were devastated since they considered Earth to be their second home. In fact, some people had a vacation house on the planet. Even known there were no reports of survivors (at the moment), dozens gathered at the administration building seeking out answers regarding Earth. Some of them had family and friends on the planet, while others were more worried about any property destroyed in the nuclear war. For now, the governing body of Frontier Post is keeping peace in the area with help from the authorities.

Meanwhile, in the corporate world, the Confederation Stock Exchange collapsed in a matter of seconds after the news spread. Frontier Post was hit especially hard given that several dozen companies had offices on Earth along with workers and high-ranking personnel. But, there were a lucky few companies that received little to no blowback from the devastating news. For example, Airwave still had its CEO and CFO because their offices were here rather than on Earth. Unfortunately, they weren't spare the adverse effects of the stock exchange collapse. Currently, the Financial District is in a state of panic, with authorities dispatched to prevent any more suicides from taking place.

Then, there were the protestors at Elliot Square. News of the short nuclear annihilation and the stock market's total collapse spread like wildfire across the square. And then, it made its way to members of the Shining Path, specifically the leader, Zhan Yijun. Zhan, realizing that this was their moment to strike, ordered an emergency meeting with his comrades to address the apparent crisis facing the Federation and Frontier Post. Without Earth and the Solar System, the major trading planet would face hardship for a long time economically and politically. And while the authorities were distracted with other matters, Zhan had plans to occupy Elliot Square and the surrounding areas.

It included the headquarters of Airwave, a corporation responsible for producing drones of different varieties. Rumors spread for months that a private underground factory existed and producing military-grade drones for the Federation. But, the only way to find out if the rumors were true was to storm the headquarters and find access. Meanwhile, Amalia Hart and her group of fighters planned on seizing control of the nearby police station to use as a base of operation for the Shining Path. Only when the area around Elliot Square was safe and secured is when Zhan will be able to process with the next phase involving establishing contact with General Jugan Lao.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
July 12th, 1955
A NEW MORNING

Big Bend National Park // US-Mexico Border
"<Run faster!>" a man cried out in pure terror while escorting his co-workers towards safety. There were fleeing from a couple of White Americans driving a custom jeep with the USBP emblem on the front doors. It was clear that they weren't working for Border Patrol because they lacked the uniform. However, it didn't mean they weren't sponsored, given one of their jeeps was being used. All of the white men were carrying some sort of loaded weapon with them. But, they weren't looking for wild animals to hunt.

The cattleman still was running away from them, but it was clear that the threat was catching up. He kept on running even as his legs were slowly giving in. Then, he felt a bullet going through his leg and fell to the ground in excruciating pain. The jeep came to a stop in front of him, and the white men began exiting out with excitement. It did, however, gave his co-workers enough time to possibly hide from the white terrorists. One of the white men got up close to the wounded man and stabbed his lit cigarette into the bullet wound for seemingly no reason. "That's what you get for stealing our cattle."

"No stealin-"

Another white man looked down at the worker and spit at him. "What a dirty liar."

"We should just leave him for the coyotes." An older white man said while holding the rifle that injured the worker.

"Nah, we got to send a message to these thieves..." The young white man stopped himself as he noticed someone, or rather something, approaching them in the distance. "What the-"

Before he had the chance to finish the sentence, a bullet permanently silenced him and left behind a hole in his forehead. The other men started to panic at the sight of their dead friends and randomly opened fire around them. They didn't attempt to flee until another of their colleagues was killed on the spot; however, one of them thought of doing something bold. With his friend's blood on his shirt, the white man placed his foot on the neck of the cattleman and pulled out a pistol. That was when he issued his ultimatum. "Show yourself, or this bean-bandit gets it!"

The man pulled back on the hammer of his pistol. "I mean it!"

In the distance, a figure appeared from a boulder with his hands up in the airs. Then, they made their way towards them with their weapons in holsters. As they got closer towards them, it was clear that they were a cowboy if their attire wasn't clear enough. And holding onto a silver revolver in their right hand. In an instant, a single shot rang out as the ring finger and pinkie of the white man's hand were blown off. Before he had the chance to speak, the cowboy unloaded his handgun at the man while the cattleman watched in horror.

Then, it ran out of bullets.

The cowboy began reloading his revolver while minding their business; however, they glanced over at the cattleman and peeked at the wound. "<Will you be alright?>"

"<Y-yes. I should have enough time to make it back home before it gets worst.>" The cattleman was surprised that the stranger spoke Spanish fluently. But before he had the chance to ask about it, another vehicle was approaching them; and unlike the wannabes lying dead, the goons were actual border patrol agents armed with military-grade weapons and looking for blood. When he looked at the cowboy, he noticed that the individual was holding onto a small black notebook and keys.

"<Take the jeep.>" The cowboy threw the keys at him and then pointed at some rocks in the distance. "<Go and get to your friends hiding behind the boulders there. I will handle them.>"

The cattleman nodded and made his way to the jeep with the keys on hand. There was so much that he wanted to know about his hero. But, it was clear that time was running out. He started the jeep up and stared at the cowboy for possibly the last time. "<Thank you.>"

There was no response other than a simple nod from the cowboy. As the cattleman drove away and heading towards the boulders, his mind was overwhelmed by everything that happened to him today. But before he had the time to process them, a series of gunshots echoed across the desert and then died out in an instant. The cattleman wasn't planning on stopping after that, but he needed to know his hero's fate for that brief gunfight. Instead, he saw something that was astonishing and unbelievable in the distance: the cowboy standing over the wounded border patrol agents.

WONDER WOMAN

"FATE OF THEMISCYRA"
January 1st, 1968
First Day

Themiscyra, Samsun Province
It took a few minutes to carry all of the equipment to the acropolis, which was still remarkably intact compared to the others (with the expectation of the Acropolis of Athens). If it wasn't for Diana, it would've taken a whole day, and a sizable moving crew, to set up a base of operations without ruining the ancient site. The Acropolis of Themiscyra was the highest citadel built, but it was smaller than the ones in Assos and Pergamon. And not to mention, much of the structures were left undisturbed including a fairly large temple that caught Diana's attention. A foreign, yet familiar, smell was luring her towards the decrepit structure.

"This way."

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
June 10th, 1955
Departure

Treasure Island Navy Base, San Francisco
Connected to Yerba Buena Island and Interstate 80, Treasure Island stood proudly as one of the country's first artificial islands. Previously the nearby island, Yerba Buena, was used as a training station during the Great War. Then, it closed down and left abandoned for decades. That was until millionaire Lewis Harrison proposed plans of a "miniature city" as a solution to San Francisco's recent population boom. Initially, there were only a handful of backers due to the rise of the Marincello development project. However, the McWilliams administration took notice of the proposal and invited Harrison to the White House.

After private talks on the matter, an agreement was reached between both parties, with the government assisting in constructing the artificial island. But then, the administration ended abruptly with President McWilliams' assassination in 1939. With the new Lindbergh administration, the agreement ended up being void, and the government straight-up took up the land. Lewis sued the government for taking his privately owned land without cause, but the lawsuit was tossed out in a year. Meanwhile, the United States Navy moved in to secure the land and build a naval testing facility for submarines. It still functioned like any other naval base, but with the Japanese threat growing, the Pacific Fleet needed to prepare for possible war.

Thus, Treasure Island Naval Base was born.

Officials began moving to the artificial island almost two years, but testing didn't start until a year ago. One of those people was General Patrick Noel. Patrick joined the military right after his own father, a Great War veteran, was arrested during the Great Cleansing. He had a lot to prove to his superiors, who feared that he was like his traitorous father. And that hard work and determination earned him the rank of General. Now, his services were needed to protect their only colony in Asia: the Philippines. Governor-General Norman Merino-Lowe requested reinforcements after Japanese forces took the Dutch city of Soerabaja.

Patrick honestly didn't give two shit about some backwater colony; however, the American government cared enough to approve the Governor-General's request. The former Spanish colony was still rich with mineral resources essential to the "continued development of the United States." Of course, it was also valuable to keep an eye on both China and Japan in case they were planning something sinister against America. Losing the colony island would put the country at a severe disadvantage, leaving only Hawaii as the significant naval base in the Pacific.

However, high command didn't care about how Patrick felt about the assignment. They expected him to follow through or face the consequences. And based on what happened to his own father after being punished, Patrick understood it was stupid to resist. But it meant telling his wife the bad news. She assumed that the naval base was going to be easy sailings until his retirement. And now, her husband was a heartfelt letter instead of telling her in person. While finishing off the letter, Patrick got a knock on the door.

"The ship is ready to depart in a few minutes, sir." the voice on the other side announced.

"I will be there in a few." Patrick responded and then waited a second before sighing. He processed to finish the letter and sealed it up in an envelope. Then, he departed for the post office located near the docks. The USS Benham was waiting nearby when the general entered inside. There weren't a ton of people inside besides the workers. He made his way to the PO box and then processed to drop the envelope before leaving without saying anything to the clerk. Outside, he took in a deep breath and then marched his way towards the destroyer.

Malaga Cove, Palos Verdes Estates
Melvin Merrill exited out of the vehicle and walked quickly towards the door of Don Xabier Giménez's manor. He didn't know much about architecture, but it was clearly inspired by villas you would find in Spain and Portugal. Still, it was impressive compared to his place down in Northridge. He made his way to the entrance and saw one of Xabier's bodyguards taking a brief smoke break. Before he had the chance to speak, the bodyguard toss his cigar to the ground and crushed it beneath his boot.

"Why are you here? Weren't you told that the boss is busy planning his daughter's quinceañera?"

"I was, but" Melvin responded and then held up the suitcase. "I won't be here if it wasn't urgent. A gram of coke is inside, found it in Howard's club on Cardiff. Told me that he got it from Delbert."

<"Shit.">

MASS EFFECT: KINGSLAYER

OPENING TEXT
In the year 2183, the Citadel Council revokes the Spectre status of their prized agent after evidence surfaced of his assault against a human colony. The first human Spectre is ordered to either eliminate or capture the rogue agent—no matter the cost. However, during a race against time, C-Sec unearths a major leak within the Council that reveals an old contact of the rogue Spectre was intercepting reports filed by the human Spectre. Realizing that someone managed to infiltrate the governing body causes the councilors to act immediately.

In a classified location, the councilors (along with the human ambassador) meet with Venari Pallin, executor of C-Sec, to initialize Operation Kingslayer. Further digging reveals that the rogue agent was using his resources within the Citadel and C-Sec to undermine both the human Spectre and the Council. Kingslayer's purpose is to eradicate Saren's remaining influence upon Citadel space. But, it needs individuals capable of fighting tooth and nail to complete the objective and stand firm against a rogue Spectre.

Individuals that are willing to become kingslayers...

INFORMATION
With the release of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, and replaying the trilogy again, I am reminded once more that I love the series so much. So, I decided to focus my energy on Kingslayer (an idea that I had in my head for a year). Influenced mainly by Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Narcos, I want to tell a story of the Citadel Council being forced to get their hands dirty. And create a task force (fireteam?) to respond to Saren's transactions within Citadel Space. Of course, Commander Shepard is still around and hunting down the rogue Spectre.

But, a different type of individual is required to deal with accountants, financial backers, and bookkeepers, along with the occasional corrupt C-Sec officers and mercenaries. In this case, several are needed.

A team will be assembled that isn't tied directly to the Citadel Council and easily discarded if they end up failing. The species doesn't matter as long as their record is near perfection in order to ruin Saren's empire (Of course, though, you won't see geth or yahg within the group. If you want to play hanar, volus, or elcor, you need to consider their limitations and work extra hard on your sheet). But still, they need to be mindful of their actions and decisions or face the wrath of the Council themselves (and C-Sec, if you fuck around with them).

GUILDLINES
– Forum rules apply
– No godmodding, meta-gaming, mary/gary sues, etc.
– Romance with other character and NPCs are allowed
– Your characters can die if they aren't careful and do something foolish
– Equipment must be limited to the first game (no M-96 Mattock, for example). No high level weapons.
– Powers, on the other hand, aren't limited.
– Approved species only. No geth, collectors, etc. Hanar, volus, or elcor are allowed as long you have considered their limitations and the sheet is excellent.
– Your characters aren't technically working for the Council and C-Sec. Basically, if you are gonna committee crimes in the name of the Citadel Council, just know that the Council will easily discredit your words.
– And that means no access to Spectre gear, status, and privileges. But, you're being paid.
– If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE

DETAILED HISTORY
Four years old. That was how old Jorge Henriques was when humanity made contact with life beyond the Sol System. He didn't remember much of it besides his parents getting concerned. And given that they were living in Benning, their concerns were rightfully justified with Shanxi being captured by the turians. It wasn't until peace prevailed that there was a sense of normality. But, something in his father changed after that event. He started to resent turians and distrust aliens so much to the point that his wife began to worry. Before she had the chance to confront him about it, tragedy struck.

A major element zero leak occurred near their apartment and exposed the entire block, giving some of the children biotics. Unfortunately, it also resulted in sudden cardiac arrest with several older individuals. She was among the victims in what officials declared a "terrible accident." But, with the loss of his lover, Jorge's father went deeper into his hatred for aliens as a coping mechanism. Jorge was forced to watch, at a young age, his father's slow decline into conspiracies and other nonsense. His grandparents realized this and fought for custody of their grandson at court.

Thankfully, the court ruled in favor of them and Jorge moved to Earth at the start of high school. He lost contact with his father after leaving Benning and never made any attempts. On Earth, he lived a better life in his grandparent's villa in Lisbon and attended the best schools in the country. But instead of going to university, Jorge joined the country's foreign intelligence service and rose through the positions. It wasn't until tensions with the batarians rose that he was transferred over to the Alliance. There he started to develop a talent with the sniper rifle.

Then, the Skyllian Blitz happened. And a few years later, the Alliance launched a major offensive against Torfan
in retaliation for Elysium. Jorge witnessed first hand the unmerciful Butcher of Torfan at work, commanding that he and other marines wipe the batarians out. He refused to talk about what took place on that moon and retired from the Alliance shortly after. However, his thirst for warfare and combat never truly left him. Jorge understood that C-Sec wasn't ever going to be enough to be satisfied. So instead, he became a hired gun for the various mercenary groups.

But, it was the Blue Suns that provided Jorge with a sturdy source of credits and work. Hell, he was starting to like it. Then, he vanished shortly after being contracted out of the blue from an anonymous source. Nobody understood why he ran into hiding, but that wasn't the truth. Jorge knew that the source was legitimate after it mentioned his work during SIED on Earth. So, he gathered his things and departed for the location that the contract gave out. It was at the Citadel and inside the luxurious Presidium which was rather unusual to meet someone until he saw both Executor Pallin and Ambassador Udina in the same room.

Then, everything began to make sense.

Pallin explained that the Council...

BATIA DISTRICT

Information
Located in the often disregarded Bachjret Ward, Batia District is home to one of the remaining and largest communities of batarians in the Citadel. While often seen around the ward, they are self-isolated from the general public. There are several theories among the residents, but the most popular one is that the Hegemony surveils them without the Council's knowledge. But, it's most likely that they choose to be with their own since the Citadel species disregard them as ignorable. However, the batarians have been rather outspoken of human residence within both the district and ward.

Humans, meanwhile, began moving into Bachjret Ward shortly after investors from Bekenstein started to finance the ward. Batia District was renamed to Sabina District as a signal to the Citadel species that humanity had big plans in place. The name change was so widely disliked by the residents that a petition was released, demanding that the original name remained. Currently, the petition is expected to be heard by the Council in six months due to it being a low priority. But, for the most part, humans are somewhat respected and treated decently by the residents except for the batarians.

Strangely, the district also features a sizable krogan population that resides within the lower levels due to their disdain for the Citadel species and constant profiling by C-Sec officers. The persecution got terrible enough that they assigned Trok Strigora to be their spokesperson regarding krogan matters. Strigora might be the only krogan able to tolerate other species long enough to hear them out. As a result, clan Strigora often finds themselves having to deal with C-Sec captain, Marcetis Caelcus, over complex issues that have existed for centuries.

Bachjret Ward
Bachjret Ward is the fourth arm of the Citadel and home to a recent influx of humans. Originally, there was a solid batarian population in the ward before the Hegemony closed their embassy and severed diplomatic and economic relations with Citadel. Most gathered their belongings and left for batarian space, but some chose to stay behind. Those that remained weren't making enough noise for the Citadel species and C-Sec to noticed. That was until humans began moving to Bachjret at record numbers. And the recent influx hasn't helped calm both sides down.

Plenty of humans are suspicious of the batarians believing that they are working for the Hegemony to sabotage their chances in the ward. While the batarians are concerned that the humans are working with the Council to evict one of the remaining batarian communities on the Citadel from the exodus that happened twelve years ago. There are now concerns that tensions between humans and batarians could escalate into something consequential. In response, C-Sec increased patrols and assigned more officers into the ward to maintain peace and stability.

Bachjret is ranked one of the poorest wards in the Citadel due to an economic depression occurring shortly after the batarian withdrawal. Although the influx of humans is reviving the local economy, its turbulent history causes investors to focus on the other wards instead. But with the success of the nearby Alliance planet of Bekenstein, human investors began to look for opportunity at the Citadel itself and found out about Bachjret Ward. With pressure from Ambassador Udina and the human embassy on the Presidium, the Council eventually granted humans the rights to develop from the already existing districts within the ward.

However, the Council requires that any modification to said districts respect other species living there. To ensure that they had as much freedom as possible, the humans selected Batia District due to the low population of Citadel species. But, they didn't realize about the batarians until the paperwork was filed. Nowadays, relations between both species are strained at best and openly hostile at worst. But so far, neither side has caused violence to the other.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE
Jorge never felt content while growing up on Earth due to the lack of independence that Benning provided. Still, he considers Earth to be his birthplace rather than the colony. His grandparents' strict lessons were edged into his brain, leading to him being more tolerated of authority—unlike his father. That attitude changed after his experience on Torfan and the massacre that he saw his fellow soldiers committing. But, he never regretted his time in the Alliance for giving him the tools necessary for life in the Terminus Systems as a hired gun. In addition, his time in the SIED prepared Jorge for a situation like Kingslayer. It would've made sense for C-Sec to enact a ruthless, cold-hearted individual as the lead contract.

Especially if said individual had training in interrogation and undercover work from a respected foreign strategic intelligence agency.

DETAILED HISTORY
Four years old. That was how old Jorge Henriques was when humanity made contact with life beyond the Sol System. He didn't remember much of it besides his parents getting concerned. And given that they were living in Benning, their concerns were justified with Shanxi being captured by the turians. It wasn't until peace prevailed that there was a sense of normality. But, something in his father changed after that event. He started to resent turians and distrust aliens so much that his wife began to worry. Before she had the chance to confront him about it, tragedy struck.

A significant element zero leak occurred near their apartment and exposed the entire block, giving some of the children biotics.

Thankfully, the court ruled in favor of them, and Jorge moved to Earth at the start of high school. Unfortunately, he lost contact with his father after leaving Benning and never made any attempts.

And a few years later, the Alliance launched a major offensive against Torfan in retaliation for Elysium. Jorge witnessed the unmerciful Butcher of Torfan at work, commanding that he and other marines wipe the batarians out.

But then, he vanished shortly after being contracted out of the blue from an anonymous source. Nobody understood why he ran into hiding, but that wasn't the truth. Jorge knew that the source was legitimate after it mentioned his work during SIED on Earth. So, he gathered his things and departed for the location that the contract gave out. It was at the Citadel and inside the luxurious Presidium, which was rather unusual to meet someone until he saw both Executor Pallin and Ambassador Udina in the same room.

Then, everything began to make sense.

Pallin didn't reveal much about the assignment, but he didn't need to after learning about the Council's involvement. And it wasn't like that Jorge could've refused their request unless he wanted to see what they were willing to do. So, he accepted their offer on the condition that he personally chose who was going to be on Kingslayer.
