Kay sighed again just wanting John to not stubborn for once but it looked like that wasn't ever going to happen. She now understood how frustrated Sam must have been with her when they were younger and she herself was the stubborn one. She checked John's body temperature by placing the back of her hand on his forehead. "he is a little warm" she confirmed.

Serena sighed and said “the stress of last night and now this must be taxing his immune system. We need to get him to his room and get him resting. Chas? Do you have any meds here?”

John was rubbing his face and muttered “I’m sorry Kay…I don’t know what’s wrong with me…”

Chas glanced at Serena and nodded, "we got some things, dunno if we'll have what he needs, but I can go look." he replied to her as John spoke to Kay. He was sure that bed rest would do John the world of good when it came to it.

"hey...there's no need to apologise. You just need some bedrest that's all, you're gonna be fine" she told him, trying to stay hopeful for his sake and hers. "come on, let's get you to bed yeah?" she suggested, standing up and holding out her arms to help him up.

John nodded and took her hand, standing up but swayed a little. Serena followed Chas and said to Josh “make sure he doesn’t fall on the stairs. Last thing he needs is to break something”

Kay put her arm round John to steady him, when Josh got told to help to which she was thankful for. She may be stronger than she looked at times, but she knew she couldn't successfully carry John to his room alone. "got it" Josh replied, going to John's other side and helping Kay take him upstairs and down the hall to his room.

Chas went with Serena to show her what medical supplies they had in, pulling down the larger first aid kit for her off the top shelf. "anything in here that'll be of use? If I need to go pick anything up I can do" Ch

John leaned on the pair, his legs not holding him well. He muttered “hit me like a ton of bricks…”

Serena looked over the meds and held up a couple of the bottles “these will be a start. But if we can’t break his fever I’ll need more supplies. I was worried about this…”

"we got you John" Josh told him as he took the majority of his weight for Kay, walking with them to John's room and inside, where with Kay, they carried him to his bed that Kay had tidied up after sleeping in it the night before. They both helped him onto the bed where Josh then stepped back toward the door to keep an eye out for Chas and Serena. Kay perched on the edge of his bed and lifted her hand, placing it against his forehead again to keep check of his temperature, "well you're not getting any warmer so that's something" she told him with a soft small smile.

Chas nodded, "write me a list of what will be needed incase his fever doesn't break and if its needed, I'll do a drive into town and pick it up" he explained to her, hoping that this will work. The last thing they needed was John to be constantly out of action, unable to not rlsee how he's been out of action a lot more than he normally is with these things.

Serena pulled out her phone and texted him the list. “He needs at least a day of rest. All of this keeps hitting him and he can’t fully recover. I think this last bit just sent him over the edge. I can go and look into into the gang part. He needs to stay in bed and recover fully”

John coughed and said “I’m sorry you guys…I don’t know why I can’t seem to shake this off…normally I recover fast…”

Chas let her text him the list of things John could possibly end up needing whilst also listening to her talk. "agreed. He keeps pushing himself too far. Whilst you go with Josh and Kay to deal with the gang situation, I'll make sure John stays in bed and actually rests" he explained to Serena back. He figured it was the best option they had right now.

Kay smiled sadly at him, "I think it's because you're not letting yourself actually recover properly. You're pushing yourself too far John. I know I'm getting on your nerves probably in constsntly telling you to rest, but you really do need to" Kay told him, stroking his cheek with her thumb. "so please? Do what Chas asks and just rest up?" she requested in a soft plea.

Serena frowned and said “actually…what if Kay stayed with John? She’s scary when she’s pissed. I think she will stop anyone Messing with John”

John sighed and flinched. “I’m sorry…your right. I just…we keep getting hit and there’s nothing to stop the fight…I don’t want to leave…the fighting to others…”

Chas thought about her counter suggestion for a moment, he didn't think anyone would get into the millhouse as it was too heavily warded but he also saw some sense in what Serena was saying. He also wondered if Kay would be the person John would actually listen to if it came to giving him any orders. "you make some good points. Okay. I'll come with you to deal with the gang and we'll get Kay to stay behind with John. It would probably make him feel better actually, to know she's out there" he replied.

Kay nodded, glad that he was finally accepting the truth of the situation. "I know you don't but sometimes you got no choice." she replied to him.

Chas had to agree there. Kay had seemed to have a lot going on and it seemed to him now that he thought about it, she hadn't really had a moment to let herself process everything that had happened. "mm that's true. She's been in the thick of it lately that's for sure."he agreed.

Kay shrugged at his question, "your guess is as good as mine, you know as much as I do. Hopefully she'll come up and tell us what's going on, what you need to do and such" she replied to him, barely even acknowledging that Josh was still hovering by the door, keeping an eye out for Serena or Chas.

Serena lead him back to the stairs and said “we three can handle things. Trish can help Kay with John for a while. I don’t want to add more stress to them until we can break this fever”

They made it back to the room and Serena walked in with the aura of the doctor she had been training to be. “Take these at the times on the bottles. Kay, your in charge. John, I’m giving her power to best the crap out of you if you cause her any trouble”

Trish giggled, appearing by Josh.

Chas nodded in agreement at the plan. "good call, they deserve a break" he replied as he walked up the stairs with her and toward John's room. He walked into the room behind Serena as he saw Kay perched on the edge of the bed. He smirked as Serena walked over already giving orders for what he needed to do, whilst also putting Kay in charge, also smirking and stifling the snigger that wanted to escape him at her words.

Kay smiled at what Serena said as she took the bottles of meds from her once they were handed over. "I guess this means I'm to stay back whilst you go and get answers?" she asked Serena. "please be careful you guys and come back in one piece for once?" she requested from them all, to which Chas nodded as did Josh. "we'll make sure sure of it" Josh spoke up.

Serena's reply and reasoning for her to stay behind didn't entirely sit well with Kay, but she couldn't deny that it was probably true which she put down as the reason for why it didn't sit well with her. She knew when it came to John, she could easily lose her cool if his life was put under threat and that scared her but she knew now wasn't the time for being scared about the 'what if's'. She looked down when Trish walked over and sat on the floor by her feet and the bed, unable to stop the small smile from appearing on her lips briefly.

"you may not like it John but we don't have any other choice in the matter. You need bed rest to stop this fever that's threatening to get worse for you, and Chas, Josh and Serena with the added help of Bane are more than capable of sorting this little problem out. The guys aren't going to let anything happen to Serena" Kay explainee, to which Chas and Josh both nodded firmly.

Serena blinked and added “and I won’t anything happen to the boys either” Trish giggled again as John sighed and then laid back down. He was pale and burning hot as he said “alright you guys win…oh my head is killing me…”

Serena moved to check him and said “his temp is still high…alright, let’s go find some answers. John, rest and nothing else. Kay? You have the con”

Kay was thankful that John was giving up on arguing their decisions. She nodded as Serena said she would look out for Chas and Josh just as much as they will look into ut for her, noticing how it made Trish giggled. "got it" she replied after Serena checked on John and gave her suggestions that were more like orders.

She let the others go and then opened one of the bottled to help with John's fever, tipping out a couple of tablets and handing them to him. She then handed him the glass of water Chas had brought up with the medication earlier. "take these, they should hopefully help" she told him.

Josh and Chas left the room, satisfied that all three of the others would be in a safe place. On the way to the door, both men grabbed their jackets off the coat rack, as well as Chas making sure he still had the spare house keys. "okay, let's go" he told Serena and Josh.

Serena smiled and moved to Kay and kissed her forehead. “Stay safe…call if he gets worse” she followed the boys out and headed for the door, losing it behind her.

John shivered a little and muttered “I hate this so much right now…”
