Peyton Hastings

Aaron Walker

Drip..drop...drip..drop.
The sound of the raindrops seemed to echo inside of Peyton's ears, as she stared out of the train window. It had only been a few hours since the reaping and Peyton still couldn't seem to get over the shock of being chosen for this years Games. Somehow, she seemed to have avoided being chosen the previous years, but this year was different. It was her turn. Mixed luck had run in the Hastings family where the games were concerned. Her eldest brother Timothy had won when he got chosen for the Games, 3 years prior before her. 5 years before her, her other brother Alexander had sadly been killed by District 1 member. So of course, her parents were concerned when she was chosen as the female tribute.

"Everything alright, kiddo?" The sound of a male voice, broke through Peyton's trail of thoughts. Glancing towards Aaron Walker. He was a previous winner, yet the Capitol had wanted him back in this years running games. Why? Peyton had no idea. But something was different; especially when President Snow and Coin had announced a few changes to the games on national tv last month. The ages had been prolonged for the tributes, that they were accepting. And it wasn't the Quarter Quells this year for previous champions to be involved. But yet here was Aaron. Wondering how many other previous champions would turn up when they'd reach the capitol.

"Yeah, I am fine." Trying to keep a brave face, Peyton could tell that he was hardly convinced. Especially since he had been through this before; he no doubt knew how a nervous tribute looked like. "No..." She then finally admitted with a sigh. "Did you feel this nervous, during your first Games?" It was probably a stupid question. But it had slipped out nonetheless.

The company on the train was scarce; besides them two and District 3 trainer. No one else was really there. And the journey to the Capitol was a few hours long, they had time to kill. So might as well make conversation and get to know one another. Or at least, that was Aaron's thinking. "I was a nervous wreck. Mind you, I was a lot younger than you when I first got picked. I was scared more than nervous. So I know how you feel." Aaron told her honestly. But if she was anything like her brother Timothy, than she would be more than alright. But neither of them realised that this year, was going to test everyone; in a variety of ways like never before. Truthfully, Peyton couldn't even imagine what he must have felt like, when he was first selected for the Games, at age 13. Making him the youngest winner so far. No one that young had survived the Games, till Aaron had came along. Most youngsters had died. The sound of heavy footsteps broke through their conversation, looking up Peyton glanced at their mentor Alexander Vasquez. Mr Vasquez himself was the 'talk' of District 3, especially after his victory so many decades ago.

"I see you kids, are getting to know each other. Good, good." He smiled at them. "But once we arrived, there's lots of business to get through. Aaron already knows the deal Peyton. And I am sure you too are aware of some of it. The Interviews will start not long after we arrive. Followed by intense training, before the games will start few weeks down the line." Reminding them off the long process. As annoying as it could get.

Dante Ackhurst

Kira Smith

Compared to everyone else, District 1 was the most lavish. And that showed in pretty much everything; from the clothes that people of district 1 wore, to the beautifully designed buildings, even to the train that was taking this years Tributes to the Capitol. The train itself could have been a lavish hotel on wheels. Both Dante and Kira hadn't been expecting to be chosen; despite their names being put down many times for the reaping. But this year, luck was against them...or was it for them? If they were the chosen ones. But like everyone else; they probably couldn't avoid being chosen forever. One way or another; everyone got chosen at one time or another. Their time had came this time around.

Being as privileged as she was, Kira wasn't one for making many friends. Not easily at least. Most were put off by her cold, bitter like demeanour. Being a polar opposite of Dante, whom was this years male tribute for District 1. He was more engaging and friendly; totally opposite of what most people expected from the rich boy. But it was, what it was. Dante could already sense, Kira's distaste for having company on the train; as the fellow tribute was keeping her distance from him. Whether she would like it or not, they'd have to work together at one point or another. Especially if they wanted to survive in the games, long enough for one of them to walk away as the victor.

"It's Kira, isn't it?" Being brave, Dante addressed her as he walked closer towards her.

Looking up with a slight glare, Kira's deep azure blue eyes narrowed at Dante. Almost in disbelief he had addressed her. "Who said, I wanted a conversation?" She asked, in a slightly snarky tone. "You just worry about yourself alright, and I'll worry about myself. I didn't come here to make friends." As cold as it sounded, it was true. No one was here to make friends. One way or another, they were pitted against each other. Trying to survive, forced to kill others to take the title of a champion. Hardly what she would call friendship.

"If either of you want to go far, then you will both have to be prepared to work together and make allies along the way." A stern female voice, broke through Kira's rant. The voice of their mentor. "Don't give me that look Kira." Eleanor sighed. "If you think you know, what it takes to win one of these games, you might want to re-think what you already know." she advised.

Ella M. Blackheart

Jay Hawk

Thomas Cullen

Ella looked out the window, she couldn't believe she had been picked. Nobody in her family ever was, and yet here she was. Doomed to die in the blood bath, she was from district 12 her mentor Jay had told her that she could win if she played smart. Ella knew how she acted, she didn't trust anyone therefore she didn't trust him. He looked at her, "Are you ok? You seem worried." She looked up and put on a fake smile "I'm fine. . . According to you anyway, I have nothing to worry about" she paused and stood up. " Why don't you just face it I'm going to die. No matter what I do. " Ella looked to Thomas, her fellow District 12 tribute. Although they had almost the same color hair which was typical for her district the resemblance stopped there, her 5'3 looked short to his 6'1. The look her gave her almost made her think he was worried. " Ella. . . look I'm right here with you we all are. Jay's just trying to help. You stand a chance you're good with a bow and a knife if need be"

Ella's face scrunched up and Thomas's words. She knew she stood a chance if it wasn't for her powers. She was untrusting for a reason, as a descendant of one of the charmed sisters she was constantly attacked by demons. If the capital knew this she didn't know but if they ever found out she would for sure die. She nodded again to Jay's words, who one the 18 and was now 42, and to Thomas's words. When the two stood by each other they looked almost like brothers, Thomas slightly taller but skinny and Jay slightly shorter by 1 inch and more filled out. Ella just looked out the window and went back to her compartment. She wanted to and needed to be left alone.

Meanwile with district 4. . .

Jake Black

Elexia Freedom.

Elexia would arrive at the capital in a little under 2 hours, the district 12 train would arrive last. She wasn't too worried about them though, she'd seen how they looked. The girl looked small and helpless, and the boy although tall looked like he could be snapped in half. She wasn't worried though, however, Jake looked scared and worried. Elexia had a long line of game luck in her family even this year's mentor Jacob Freedom had been her uncle until he went to the games. Elexia looked at Jake, " Jake. . . look I know were not together anymore but I want to help you. We have nothing to be worried about." She paused and when she was waved away she left to go look at her tattoos, most were given for getting into fights. But some were for worse reasons. She was confident because she was putting on the strong facade that everybody expected from district 4. . .the fishing district. But she was in reality weak and one of the weakest in her district. Both had been volunteers for tribute, both replacing 2 little 12 year olds who didn't deserve to go into the games.

Peyton's face remained somewhat creased with a worried expression, as she listened to her mentor. She had seen the games, to know the gruelling process; but they haven't always showed the entirety of the training sessions; getting down to the main events instead. Everyone always seemed to know what to say in the interviews, but right now she was thinking of what she would say herself. It hadn't really crossed her mind before, not till now when Alexander had mentioned it. "I barely even thought about the interview, till you mentioned it." Admitting with a sigh. She leaned against her seat.

"Don't worry kiddo, we can have a rundown of what you'll be asked. And if you need extra help. Aaron here has been through it all before, I am sure he'll be more than happy to give you some tips." The District's mentor had assured her. "Now, let's talk allies. You're new, and if you want to get far...you'll need some support from other districts in the game."

Peyton had seen the other tributes that had been chosen for this year. District 1 was out of the question. District 1 always thought they were the best, because they were the entitled, privileged ones in the entire of Panem. Never knowing them to take allies in the previous years. District 4, seemed like good allies. As Peyton had seem the two tributes get replaced by older volunteers. Finding it quiet sweet, that they had stepped up to replace the two 12 year olds that had originally been chosen at the reaping. The other districts were interesting to say the least. Each had theirs pros and cons, like everyone else. But some tributes did look thin and weak. The weakest links would get killed off first, no doubt about that. Peyton wasn't exactly the strongest one either; Aaron was the one that was the stronger one here. But she had other valuable skills and traits that made her a good pick for this years games. Unknown to her, that she was a descendent of the Charmed Ones. Her magical abilities hadn't come out of their shell so to speak. So her life was free of Demonic attacks...for now. But once she'd get a taste of her power, it would attract danger to her.

The trio discussing potential districts, that Peyton and Aaron should approach for allies. Making the journey to the capitol go much quicker. Finally the train seemed to be slowing down, Glancing out of the window. "Ah, we have arrived." Aaron announced. The districts probably arriving in order. District 12, was the furthest away from the capitol than all of the others. So the public had yet a long while to wait for their arrival. Getting out of the train, they were met with cheers and waves from the crowd as they made their way inside of the building, where all of the tributes would be staying before the games.

Dante Ackhurst

Kira Smith

A deep sigh escaped Kira, rolling her eyes into the back of her head as she heard Eleanor give her the third degree. It was clear that Kira would be bit of a trouble-maker, and hard to get along with. Finding the District 1 mentor already annoying, as she gave her the small pep talk. The girl thought she knew better. That was no different, if someone else was speaking to her. For she would have behaved the same way. "Save your breathe Eleanor!" Kira told her, leaning against her seat. "District 1 is the best, and will win this year. I don't need to re-think anything." Telling her mentor, in a rather bold way possible. But that attitude wouldn't get her very far, indeed. In fact, it was the exact opposite. It was that kind of thinking, thinking and believing that she was better than everyone else; that would get her into trouble.

"Maybe you should listen to her." Dante sighed. At least he had the sense to listen to their Mentor and her guidance. That's what their mentor was there for. But Kira seemed to disprove of that; already making it difficult for the both of them. And they weren't in the arena yet. It was going to be a long process. Dante was slowly dreading this, especially if his fellow tribute would behave this way through the entirety of it all.

With a groan, Kira looked towards the blonde haired boy. "Why be such a goodie too shoes? Honestly. How embarrassing!" Scoffing in her annoyance.

As much as she would have enjoyed taking a bigger dig at him, it didn't take long for them to arrive in the capitol. Kira was the first one off the train, wanting to escape from the two annoyances. Her fellow tribute and their mentor. Putting on a fake smile, she waved to the crowd of excited people. Before marching her way into the building. Ignoring any other fellow tributes that were slowly arriving from other districts.

Dante on the other hand, followed out of the train with an exasperated sigh. As if he didn't worry enough about having to deal with the other Tributes, he also had to worry about Kira and how he would handle her 'attitude' for the duration of the Games. Maybe it was best, that he didn't over-think? Or it would get to him, if he thought it over to a deeper level. Making his way inside of the building. Everyone was waiting for their next instructions, as the other districts were arriving one by one. Getting settled into their assigned living areas.

Ella BlackHeart

Ella looked out the window, Thomas was beside her as the train pulled into the station. They both waved and then got off the train, they had just gotten into a conversation with their mentor about allies. Jay had told her they needed allies, she shook her head but said "If I'm going to team up with anyone I want 4, possibly 1 but I don't think that would be a good option since there carriers. I also want district 3. They seem good, but it's a matter of getting them to alli with us." Ella looked over she didn't know why she seemed to be making all the decisions here." I agree with Ella, but were district 12 neither of us looks appealing in terms of allies." To this Jay had no reply and they were quiet the rest of the way to the capital.

Ella had after the conversation changed into a capital pair of skinny jeans and a crop top she had barely been able to pull off. When they stepped out the entire crowd started cheering, not for Thomas but for. . . Ella. She had volunteered for a young 12-year-old in her district. She smiled waved and was escorted away, even though district 12 had arrived way after 4 they had walked past them on the way to the remake center.

Ella walked with her head held high it wasn't much but it was something.

Elexia Freedom

Elexia looked over at district 12 they had just arrived and were heading to remake she had arrived hours earlier and was just now getting out. She leaned over towards the girl and whispered, "Be warned, there's gonna be a bit of pain." She didn't stay for the girl's reaction, Ella thought her name was she just kept walking. 12 needed the warning both of the tributes looked like they couldn't take any pain she was just doing them a favor.

Back to Ella. . .

Ella had heard what the girl from district 4, Elexia whispered in her ear. She kept walking. It had phased her and scared her but she could take the pain and if everyone believed she couldn't all the better. Thomas looked at her, "Ella... they think we're weak. " she looked at him, " That's good it makes us stand a chance." Ella kept walking and she bumped into someone, a girl, district one from the look of it. "Hey watch it!" She yelled getting ready to shove the girl if she needed to. She looked to her prep team who were watching the altercation as it happened she started becoming self conscious. " Don't worry dear don't wine and we won't have a problem." One of the girls on her prep team said to her. She assumed Thomas would get the same warning
