Kay was glad that she could cheer up the kid, even though she felt like she didn't know what she was doing when it came to kids. Which just got her thinking and wondering how her future self managed to raise a daughter. At Trish's question, she gave it a thought before deciding on what to do next. "I guess our next room will be the main room. I don't know how John finds anything in there with the amount of rubbish on that coffee table and dirty whiskey glasses and cigarette trays" she chuckled.

Drake's next question was something that Fia was deciding on herself. She didn't know what to do either, part of her wanted to stay, make sure John is alright but the other part of her wanted to go home and see if what they did, did in fact change things and she had her mother back in her life. She knew how depressed John had gotten without Kay, which was one reason why she went on this crazy adventure behind her father's back. "I guess the logical thing to do is go home" she replied, "but are you even strong enough to handle the travel?" she asked him.

Josh gave a nod to her thanks, "Do you want me to stay or go?" he asked her back, not wanting to come across as a pervert, but he was also aware she said earlier on that she wasn't on the best of terms with baths because of a previous incident.

Trish frowned and said “I haven’t seen him smoke lately…”

Drake sighed and said “I don’t know…but I also don’t think we can do this again. I want to be sure this worked…and now what with moms power upgrade that happened way sooner then before…I’m just not sure…”

Serena paused then said “would you mind just turning while I got in? The soap and bubbles will cover me…I just don’t want to be alone in here…”

Kay realised that Trish was right, the ash trays and cigarette butts did look rather old now that she took a proper look at it. "You're right, he hasn't. Or at least, hasn't when we've all been in the same room as him" she replied, grabbing the ash trays and chucking the contents into a nearby trash bag. "If you find any rubbish put it in this bag for me okay? I can put it by the front door later" she explained.

Fia could understand where he was coming from, she too wanted to be sure that what they did actually worked, but the consequences of what happened, happening so much sooner than they were supposed to, was concerning to her. "I'm not sure either. We have to know if it worked but what's happened here because of it has worried me." she replied to him, going into thought of what they could do. Then one option came to her, "Only thing I can think of is that one of us stays here, in this time just to watch over things...for a couple of days tops and the other goes back to our time to see what's happened there. We use the communication through time spell I taught you to keep each other in the loop by sending messages to our secret hiding spot in this house" she suggested.

"Of course" Josh replied, instantly turning round so he gave her her privacy for her to get into the bath without worries of someone watching her. "I won't leave you alone, I promise" he said once again to her.

Trish nodded and walked around finding trash then said “do you think we fixed the future?”

Drake nodded weakly and then saw her face. “Which one are you going to. push me to do? Stay or go?”

Serena slipped in and said softly “I’m good…thank you…and I’m just a private person…I’ve never been with anyone since Drake…”

Kay also put trash that she found in the trash bag whilst also neatly piling up the newspapers on the table so they weren't all over the place. "I don't know Trish but I sure hope so. If what the teenagers upstairs told us is true then I really do hope so. I don't want to become the cause of the world's end or whatever it is" she replied honestly.

Fia gave it some thought, thinking up all the pros and cons of both options for him. If things hadn't changed then Drake going back still recovering would be dangerous, not to mention it's risky for someone injured to time travel through portals. "I think you should stay, I don't want the portals to cause more problems for you, especially as you're not the primary caster of said spell needed. I think I should go and check what's going on. If things haven't changed I'll come straight back once I've sussed everything out and come get you. If it has changed, i'll do the letter to our secret spot like I previously suggested." she explained.

Josh slowly turned round but still didn't oogle her at the same time. He wanted to be of some security to her but not come across as a pervert either. "I can understand that, you don't have to explain things to me if you don't want to Serena." he replied to her truthfully. It also dawned on him again how their future son was named after her ex partner which just proved to him how special this Drake must have been for her.

Trish looked over and said “I just I still become the one they grew up with…from their faces…future me must be cool…”

Drake looked at her and said “are you sure? Can’t we just make a window or something…I don’t want you going alone…”

Serena looked at him and said “I want to. I want you to know me..just not all at once. The name part is a little surprising to say the least…”

Kay smiled and chuckled lightly. "I'm sure you are in their time too." She replied to Trish, as she finished up and tied the bag up when they were done cleaning. "Only they can know what kind of people we all become in their time and I'm fine with not knowing. It's bad enough I know I'm not there for my daughter..." She told Trish, even if the words 'my dsughter' still feels incredibly alien coming off her tongue.

Fia smiled at Drake, appreciative of his concern for her. "I'll be fine Drake, I promise. I can make us a familial bond rune on us both if you'll feel better about me going alone? If I get into serious trouble it'll alert you" she suggested.

Josh smiled and nodded, "I can understand that and we don't have to rush anything. I'm not going anywhere as long as you want me around" he explained to her softly.

Trish looked at her and said “but that’s changed right? I mean, that’s why she came back. To save you?”

Drake sighed and said “I don’t like yoh going alone Fia…I have a bad feeling…”

Serena smiled and nodded. She rubbed her face in the water and sighed. “I used to love baths…I would always take a hot shower after shifts in the ER…wash the bad and pain off of me…”

John grunted in pain, turning his head and opening his eyes a bit.

Kay stepped to the side of the couch and leaned against the arm rest, deciding to take a pause when Trish said things should have changed. "I can only hope so Trish. I can only hope so" she said, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear that had fallen in front of her face. "I don't wanna put anyone in danger, but right now I wanna solely make sure John is alright" she added.

Fia have a small smile and placed her hands either side of Drake's face. "I'll be fine Drake, I swear to you. I'll come back for you, you're my brother from another mother and I won't let anything happen to me to make you worried." She told him, placing her forehead against his, as she always did to try and comfort him. "We're always to be a team, no matter what" she said to him.

Josh listened to her speak and talk of the old times as she freshened up in the bath. "I can get that reasoning. I'd love to hear more about what you did before all of this craziness happened to..well...all of us." He told her honestly, realising he didn't know much about her and he wanted to know everything. He wanted to know the Serena that wasn't solely the magical side of her. The real her.

Trish nodded and said “you should go check on him. I’ll be okay go for it”

Drake sighed and said “I can’t think you…I don’t want to lose you Fia…I can’t…” he closed his eyes a moment.

Serena looked at him and said “well what do you want to know?”

Kay nodded, pushing herself off the arm rest and gave Trish a pat on the shoulder. "if you need me you know where I'll be" she told her before leaving the room and heading upstairs, making sure to dump the trash bag by the main front door on the way.
Upstairs, she headed through the corridor, noting how Fia and Drake seemed to be in deep conversation in the office room before getting to John's room where she gave a knock on the door as she then entered, seeing him awake. "Hey...how you feeling?" She asked him.

Fia hated worrying Drake like this but she honestly didn't see another logical way to see if things changed. She knew he was safest here in his current state and out the two of them, it was her who could handle the trip back home and back again. She also had the upper hand of being able to revive if she came face to face with death. Not that she ever intended on getting to that point. She felt she was too smart for that. "You won't lose me Drake. I swear to you, you won't lose me. We're always and forever" she told him. Leaning back from him, she pulled off one of her leather bracelets, grabbed a marker and drew a rune on it before inciting an incantation over it. It glowed for a brief moment then went back to its normal dark brown colour.

She then grabbed Drake's right hand where she put the bracelet on his wrist. "I've put an enchantment on this so it's linked to me. It'll tell you if I'm in trouble by glowing red on the rune. As long as it looks like a normal leather bracelet I'm safe. I'll be there and back before you know it" she explained.

Josh looked at her back and then to the wall before back at her again. "I want to know everything honestly. What does Serena love, hate, favourite things?" He asked her. He wanted to know anything she was willing to tell him.

John flinched as he tried to get up and muttered “I need…to get up…I have to…” John was warm and his eyes a little out of it. Not really surprising after all he had been thru.

Drake lokked T her and said “don’t do this Fia please…my gut is telling me this isn’t the time yet…ouch” he held his head that was pounding worse suddenly

Serena looked at him then said “I hate cilantro. And I love tropical fruit and warm scents. And I wanted to be a doctor before all of this…and I do want to be a mom…”

When she saw him try to get up, Kay instantly walked over and gently pushed him back down on the bed. "Oh hells no John. You are not to get up. You're on bed rest for a reason. What do you need to do anyway? Everything is fine here" she told him, perching on the edge of the bed beside him.

Fia sighed, seeing he really wasn't going to budge on his stance on this one. "Okay....okay...I won't go yet" she told him, wishing there was more she could do to help ease his headache. "If your gut says not to go then I'll stay put." She said once again.

Josh smiled as she said a few things she liked and wanted. "What made you want to be a doctor before all of this?" He asked, curious to hear more about her story.

John looked at her and said “work to be done…lives to save…I can’t just lay around…while the world turns…”

Drake nodded and said “thank you…I just have a bad feeling that someone is waiting for us to try and go back…”

Serena smiled softly as she moved in the water. “My moms brother was a doctor. He worked in clinics all his life…he helped so many people and changed lives…when he died in a third world country that’s all k wanted to do was help people. In a real way…”

Kay shook her head at him protesting. "You're in no fit state to do any kind of work John. Me and Chas can hold down the fort while you continue to rest" she replied to him. "If you do anything other than lay here and let your body recover you will be in harm and no good to anyone. I can't have you any more hurt than you already are" she told him honestly, gently grabbing his hand. "So please, just stay put...for me?" she asked of him.

Fia didn't like the idea of someone waiting for them to return home but she couldn't understand why someone would be doing such a thing. Yet she also got an amusing thought in her head and she couldn't help but smirk and stifle a small chuckle. "Could you imagine if it's just our folks waiting to give us the biggest lecture of the century?" she said to him, hoping the thought would bring him some light relief just like it was bringing her.

Josh listened to her story intently, finding it fascinating that the desire and need to help others clearly ran in her family. "Your uncle sounds like he was a real hero to people in his own way" he commented back. "And well...after what I've witnessed lately, especially today, it seems the heroic personality and trait doesn't fall far from the tree" he smiled at her, truly meaning every single word he was telling her.

John looked at her and flinched then said “I’m sorry…for all of this…I thought…I could handle it…”

Drake smirked and said “I know that’s coming but it’s more…someone from the past wanting to skip to the future…”

Serena blushed and looked down then said “you…you really think so?”

At John's words, Kay shook her head and brushed his apology off. In her mind it wasn't warranted, especially in this moment. "I know, but you don't need to apologise. Things are honestly alright here right now. Drake is taking things easy, so are Josh and Serena. Chas is tidying up, Fia is looking out for Drake. Trish is fine downstairs. I'm fine. You don't need to worry about anything other than getting better" she explained, squeezing his hand and giving him a soft smile. "So please just rest up for me." She requested of him.

Fia gave a nod and stifled chuckle as she too knew they were getting the biggest bollocking of their lives when they did go home. She knew as well as he did just how protective their folks were of them both, especially John over her and Serena over Drake. His second statement did intrigue her though, "what do you mean? Someone from this time wanting to skip to our time?" She asked him with a raised eyebrow.

Josh smiled brightly at her seeing her reaction to his words. "I do think so. You've blown me away every time I've seen you just get on with what needs to be done so far. It's incredible." He told her honestly. "I'm sure not many people could just know what to do in a situation like John ended up in, and just jump to action like you did. That was seriously superheroic in my eyes" he added.

John looked at her and said softly “I messed up Kay…somewhere I really messed up…I’m waiting for manny to come in and yell at me for something…”

Drake nodded and said “the shadows keep saying it…I’m sure mom could hear them better..,she is the master after all…it’s why my head is killing me…”

Serena smiled at him then said “I guess I just have to fix what I can…I don’t think about it then a problem that has to be solved…”

Kay sighed when he blamed himself for all of this all over again. "John, if he does, then well....he does. But you can't blame yourself for everything." she told him. "The way I see it, none of us are perfect or do things perfectly every time, we all mess up at times. It's just how we're built as people" she explained, before realising she wasn't exactly fully human and internally winced at her own words, something she wouldn't have thought twice about before meeting John and Serena. "People and phoenixes" she corrected herself. "but you know what? If that teenage girl in the other room is our kid, then she's proof we haven't completely screwed up in everything we do" she added.

Fia nodded, understanding what he was talking about. "then maybe we can ask when she's free. Or ask one of the shadows what they mean?" she replied. She still wished she could find out how things were in their time period but she also didn't want to upset Drake any more than he possibly already was or any more stressed out.

Josh smiled and still thought that Serena was getting more amazing. "Well you're still pretty incredible" he told her once more.

John looked at her weakly and said “she’s amazing…and she gets all of it from you…I know it…I just hope after all of this that it fixes the future…”

Drake nodded and said “let’s let her relax first…I wonder if dad has figured out his powers by now…” he groaned and closed his eyes saying “my head feels like it’s going to split…”

Serena smiled at him then asked “have you…had anything like this happen before? This magic stuff? Or did it really start with Trish?”
