Hello! I'm an old time member that's been here for years but life kinda got in the way. In my old man brain forgetfulness.... I kinda forgot the info to my account.... SO I'VE RETURNED WITH A NEW ONE! Those that knows me, would know me as Cao the Exiled.

I'm definitely a Sci-fi/fantasy guy whoostly does d&d/pf games, though I've had an itch for a good space opera. I also want to try running a Trophy game on here, so look forward to that! I'm hoping to reconnect with some old friends like @Mae, @Guardian Angel Haruki, @Lurking Krog and many others, and simply get back in the groove of writing!

Space Opera!~

Right?! I've been playing a lot of Starfield lately and I remember reading the Expanse books and thinking a space opera to would be fun as hell.

@N3v3rM0r3

That does sound a bit intriguing. I've only gotten about halfway through The Expanse books and getting kind of close to completing the main story for Starfield.

I want to say I've read up to book 5 of the expanse. I love the idea of man expanding into factions through the solar system. Plus, it's sci-fi without going TOO sci-fi. Even what alien life they have encountered didn't seem too over the top.

Something that uses the Stars without Numbers system would be cool. Could use Starfield to get a basic layout of the spaceships for people to use.

I think book five is the next one for me. I do like how the handle space travel, communication, and so on. Definitely hits the sci-fi without being over the top.

Exactly! I also love their theories on space travel, the drugs they have to take to warp drive, how the belters physically changed over generations, habituating largely unlivable celestial bodies like Mars and Ganymede.

I didn't think they had warp drive, just drives that moved them fast enough they had to have said drug cocktails to stay conscious and endure the g-forces.
