Claudia opened her eyes to take a look around the bar "Last Chopp", the girl had passed out due to stress after she and a few other survivors sealed the door with furniture, they had no way to seal the windows so the only option was to keep the blinds closed. The foreign girl looked carefully at all those present in the room, making sure they were not bleeding or infected of whatever the hell was causing the dead to rise once again. There were a few men and women Claudia had never seen before, then there was a granny who was a usual costumer at the cafe Claudia worked part-time, made her wonder how the old woman could have survived but none of her university acquaintances had made it alive.

An old jukebox was playing some classic rock songs from the 80's with it's volume very low, the men were next to it, most probably the music was the only thing keeping them sane. The blonde stood up from the chair she was sitting when she passed out and walked behind the counter, after refreshing her face with sink water and drinking some more she returned to the chair.

The atmosphere was very tense, as expected, no one dared to talk and they could hear shots from far away keeping them nervous. Suddenly the radio, which was just making static noise, transmited the voice of a male: "To all Racoon City citizens, we inform that the northern highway is the only way out the city, the Army has secured it. I repeat: To all Racoon City citizens..."

Claudia's light blue eyes got wide open, she looked at everyone in the room just to make sure they heard the same as her. "We gotta get there, now" she told everyone and grabbed the steel hammer that had helped her survive a few hours ago.
Everyone knew it was Goddamn dangerous to even try putting a foot oustide the bar, but staying was no option.

The older gentleman looked over the room from his position by the jukebox alongside a few other individuals as he leaned forward in a chair. His hand rested inside his jacket, more specifically on his conceal carry, as he grimaced a bit at the distant sounds of gunfire. He glanced around the bar, though the young woman who was just getting up with a hammer in her fist.

This wasn’t how his night was supposed to be going. He was supposed to be sipping on a shot of tequila, and reminiscing about his squadmates, maybe talking to the bartender a bit. The last thing he’d expected was for the dead to be mobbing the streets and eating people. From the sounds of things, there were people out there who were understandably putting up a fight.

Bennett pushed himself out of the seat with a grunt of effort, before making his way over towards the bar. As much as he didn’t like it, she had a point. If the army was involved, it had to be worse than it looked. He was at least thankful they hadn’t just dropped a nuke and considered the issue solved. Yet.

“Alright ma’am, but what’s your plan to do that? We’re on the south side, and there’s an awful lot of city between the cordon and us.” His tone might’ve been a bit more accusatory than he intended, but just moving out there without a plan was asking to get people killed. He reached into his jacket and, the bar’s no smoking policy be damned, he pulled out his pack of cigarettes out of his coat, taking one out for himself and offering the pack to her. Everyone needed to calm down, and some good ol’ southern tobacco always helped him, at least.

The old man's words were like a bucket of cold water that brought Claudia back to reality, he was right, it was a long distance to travel and those monsters were everywhere. She looked around to see the other survivors and knew some of them may not be able to do it, for example the granny on the corner wouldn't be able to run if they were attacked by multiple zombies.

"You are right, if we don't find a van or something to move around then we are screwed...And even with a vehicle, the streets are a complete chaos" She replied as she crossed her arms. Unsure about what to do Claudia started to walk around in circles, at some point she walked into a dark corridor which led to a second floor. With her melee weapon in hand she walked slowly in case any zombie tried to attack.

The second floor consisted of one big room that was almost empty, she could not see anything useful as the electricity was not working and the only light entered from the outside through a window. When a Claudia moved away the drapes saw a fire escape that connected with it the next building, an empty block of
apartments.

"The apartments next to this place are empty right? There is a fire escape that connects with it on the second floor. If memory doesn't fail me some people still used the garage there, what if there's still a car there?"

When the younger woman brought up the idea of going next door, Michael thought about her proposition for a moment. It wasn’t a bad plan by any means, as a vehicle would at least get them partway to the cordon. Logically it couldn’t take them all the way; the highway was going to be a nightmare to traverse unless the army was kind enough to clear it.

There was only two problems he had with that plan. The first was if there wasn’t a functional vehicle. He wasn’t familiar with that building, so he didn’t know how well-used the garage was, but it made sense that there’d be parts to fix a car that could be acquired, even if they needed to be removed by a younger person with a crowbar or wire cutters first.

After a few moments, the older man nodded. There was exactly one other objection he had left, which he’d solve himself. “Seems doable. Won’t do to have y’all get yourself killed and leave us stranded, though.” Michael stated, as he straightened his shoulders a bit and looked the young woman square in the face. “If you’re doin’ that ma’am, then I’m coming with ya. Better if ya have someone watching yer back.”

All the other survivors listened the plan and agreed, there was no much to do as the zombies that had been chasing them were now roaming around the bar and only a wooden door was separating the living from the dead.

"Alright then you come with me Sir, anyways I don't know much about cars to begin with so if something is bro-!" before Claudia could even finish talking a bright light iluminated the entire room as the place had not drapes, immediately after that a car crashed against the bar, destroying the door and breaking down part of the wall; of course the winddows shattered into thousand pieces.
The impact threw the old granny and Claudia to the floor as she was just about to check the streets through one of the windows. "Holy...fuck...!" She cursed as she tried to get on her feet, with the help of one of the survivors she managed to stand up only to see the ruckus had caught the attention of the zombies outside. "We have to go now!" the blonde shouted to the others who were still trying to help the granny

The old woman had taken the worst part as part of the wall fell over her legs, a wound like that in such a dire situation was lethal, even worse, the driver had turned into a zombie and was trying to crawl towards them though the broken windshield.
"Just go! Leave me here and go!" She cried out.
Claudia was unsure of what to do, she looked at Michael, at the wounded woman, and then at the zombies that were starting to climb their way into the bar through the debris. She smashed the head of the first zombie twice with her hammer to gain some time, only to realize many other were gathering. "There are just too many, we really gotta go!"

"For fuck's sake it's impossible to move this shit" One of the men trying to rescue the woman cursed.

Michael froze for a half of a second as everything happened so quickly, and he took in the area around him. No one was moving, while those freaks had arrived and were getting closer. The fact that the young woman next to him was stunned wasn’t a surprise, “You! Take whoever’s mobile, and start moving to the second story!” Michael shouted to Claudia, with that voice of authority used by non-commissioned officers everywhere that he hadn’t used in nearly forty years. He turned back to face the contested area at the front of the bar, and took in the sight. This wouldn’t be such a hard choice if he had more than fourteen bullets, but the situation was what it was. In a single, smooth motion, he drew his old, but well-maintained service pistol, and leveled it. “Fall back! Now!” He shouted to the survivors, as he leveled his gun. He took a breath, exhaled, and as his lungs empted, he squeezed the trigger, and that distinct bang echoed through what was left of the bar.

The driver zombie’s head snapped back as the two-hundred and thirty grain piece of lead blew parts of the damned thing's brain matter across the car’s seats. He started walking back, as he shouted to the survivor. ”You’re about to lose your cover if you can’t get out of there in the next ten seconds!” He called, as he started walking backwards, trusting the girl and the other survivors to keep his back covered. He was lucky with how the driver zombie stayed content to remain dead, but that said nothing for the growing horde making it’s way towards them.

Were he a younger man, he would’ve been right there next to that man, trying to get the elderly woman out. But Bennett didn’t have the strength, speed, or bullets to buy the man more time than what he’d offered. Not to mention, the older woman’s legs had probably been broken beyond the point of saving, and unfortunately, he wasn’t about to risk multiple people who were useful for one who wasn’t. As many people needed to get out of here as possible, and unfortunately it wasn’t worth risking multiple lives and the only gun in the room for one crippled elderly woman.

Bennnett’s pace kept steadily towards the room’s other door as he set his sights on the next-closest zombie for a moment, waiting until Claudia and the others were through. “You’re out of time, big man! Fall back!” He ordered the survivor, and after a tense moment, he relented. As the zombies drew closer, and the strapping young man reluctantly left the room, Michael looked the elderly woman in the eyes. He could see that pain and fear, and he wasn’t about to let her suffer while these damned things tore her apart. “God forgive us.” He muttered, as he switched his point of aim, and granted mercy with his handgun before falling through the doorway.

Claudia did as told and directed towards the second floor, there was no use in staying and fight, however what she did not expect was to hear a second gunshot, she stopped for a second to look back and confirm what she feared: the old man had given the granny a quick death; at least it was better than being devoured alive by those monsters.

The group reached the second floor, they were quite lucky the zombies had it difficult to walk up the stairs, even so some managed to crawl up.

"Over here, to the next building" the blonde college girl told the other survivors as she pulled the drapes away, revealing the fire escape she had mentioned before. The last one to reach the fire escape was Michael, once Claudia saw the ld man was fine she followed the others.
"I hope we don't get ran over by another fucking car..." she muttered, taking a second to observe the surrounding area and how more zombies tried to enter the bar through the hole in wall.

One of the men found an open window and the entire group got inside the apartment, it was dark and the girl even thought she saw a rat pass by. They were all scared to even open the door leading to the hall, fearing there may be more zombies in the aparment block.

Bennett followed behind the group after taking that shot, taking up the rear for two reasons. The first was to deal with any zombies who were fast enough to be a problem, and the second being the refusal of his joints to cooperate. The aching and sharp pains in his knee and lower back hindered him, but failed to stop him as the older gentleman made his way forward.

Once he’d reached the window leading to the fire escape, he leered at it for a moment, before stepping through the window with a pained grunt. Climbing through another window wasn’t something he took pleasure in, but it wasn’t the end of the world. His joints still ached all the same, but the context in which he was doing all this climbing prompted him to not gripe about it.

Once the group stopped in the apartment, the Michael pushed the open window shut behind himself, before doubling over and panting. “Well… been a… a few years since… I’ve needed to move like that.” He looked up, taking in the people who were left, and eventually just looking at the door. He silently holstered his pistol as he regained his breath for a few moments, then a familiar sensation washed over him, one he’d had to contend with far too many times. Guilt.

Why in the hell am I still alive, while good folk die around me?

He looked around, and the old man didn’t see the faces of the people who had left the bar. Instead, for a brief moment, he saw the faces of people from years past. Desperate. Pained. Terrified. His breathing hitched for a moment, as he lowered his head so as not to meet those stares, and after a few moments, his heart stopped pounding in his chest, and he stood back up, albeit with a little protest from his lower back. ”... Well, there’s no point in jes’ waitin’ fer them to come and beat the door down. That garage downstairs still seems like our best bet to me.” He managed, trying his best to keep his mind focused on the current situation, as it was better than the alternative.

Claudia gulped so hard those closest to her heard it clearly. She approached the main door with slow steps, she didn´t want to be the one to open it but it was no time to argue. She rised the hammer over head ready to attack and with the left hand turned the pommel slowly nd finally opened the door.

Hersh oulders relaxed and she lowered the hammer, there was a a glim light coming from a window covered with a teared trash bag at the end of the corridor, and with it the blonde could confirm that at least that floor was clear.
"Come on, the hallway is clear..." She whispered, the others walked through the place trying to find the stairs. Claundia on the other hand stood behind just to check on the old man "How you doing Mister? Wanna sit down a bit?" She asked, her acent making evident the fact she was not from there.
Before they could keep the talking one of the other survivors cursed so loud they heard him clearly despite the man was already at the first floor and Claudia rushed to see what had happened.

"What's going on?!" she yelled before seeing the man sitting on the floor resting against the wall and a zombie laing on the floor dead...again. "Que susto.." she muttered to herself in spanish and went to check on the man, luckily he was not bitten.

Once all the group was on the first floor they headed to the garage through a back door. There was not much to pick from: an old car with flat tires, another one with two doors missing doors and an old Volkswagen Transporter; the choice was obvious. When they approached the vehicle they noticed the driver's door was open and the seat stained with blood but no signs of zombies which was a relief, however something else worried them: they keys were missing and the gate of the garage which lead to the street was had been broken down.

He took note of the young lady’s accent, something from South America by his guess, but he’d never heard her accent specifically. “I’ll be fine, ma’am… just fine.” Michael said between breaths, waving the young woman off. He’d appreciated the gesture, but now was not the time to be stopping. Not yet.

The older man followed behind the group through the quiet halls of the apartment building, serving as the rear guard. He could hear movement on something stomping around on the floors above, and assuming the worst, figured that having someone watch the rear was a good plan.

Michael drew his firearm as a reflex when a survivor downstairs swore. He followed the young lady downstairs, raising his gun to the zombie, but stopping shy of shooting it when he realized it was already dead. “... I’m gonna need something for my blood pressure by the time this is over.” He muttered bitterly, as he lowered his gun towards the concrete, but didn’t holster it just yet.

As the group looked over the vehicles, Michael approached the transporter, unlocking the car and checking the back to ensure there weren’t to any surprise passengers. “Anyone here know how to hotwire a car?” The older man asked when the lack of keys for the Volkswagon became evident, and much to his chagrin, no one volunteered themselves. He took this opportunity to lean on the side of the vehicle for a few moments, scratching his chin as he thought for a moment. “Well, odds are the key’s still in the buildin’ somewhere.” He said, taking into account the fact that the car was still here, despite being unlocked. He paused for a moment longer, before starting back towards the stairs that had led them into the garage.

After taking a moment to think about it, he turned back towards the kind young woman who’d seemed concerned for him earlier, and the elderly woman before that. It was awful of him to ask, but he wanted to be sure the keys ended up getting back to the group, and he knew trying to outrun a horde was a bad plan for himself, not that there were likely to be too many undead in the building. “I’m gonna go reconnoiter, see if I can’t track down those keys. Mind joining me, ma’am?”

The blonde thought the old man was just joking when he asked if anyone knew how to hotwire the vehicle and end up doing it himself, much to her displeasure the man was no joking, she looked like she was about to enter into a crisis but Michael asked her to come along.
"At least he has a gun..." She thought and after a quick look at the broken gate she nodded. "Yeah, let's go. those mosters may see us from the street if we stay here" She commented.

Armed with gun and hammer they returned to the building, the moster's corpse was still on the floor so it was one thing less to worry about "Good thngs it stays dead..." Claudia muttered as she rised her eyes, trying to look through the dark corridor. As she walked a sign became visible, it was the sign of the room she was looking for "Administration".

"I don't think they keep a copy here but maybe we can find something usefull" She told Michael, who was at the oppsite side of the corridor, before slowly opening the door; the creaking noise could be heard throughout all the corridor and Claudia ventured into the dark room.
After a few minutes of silence the girl walked out of the administartion and without saying a word she pointed at the old man with something and suddeny a light iluminated Michael and half of the room. "This torch comes in handy"

As the pair made their way down and Claudia commented on the dead zombies staying dead, Michael kicked the corpse in the head for safety’s sake, and was content when it didn’t move. Once they reached the administrative office, he nodded at the young woman’s appraisal of the situation. “There’s no harm in lookin’. It ain’t like someone’s gonna come and arrest us for trying to survive.” He mused, as he covered the hallway with his gun while she searched.

Michael raised his hand as she brought the light around towards him to shield his eyes for a moment while his eyes adjusted. “Watch where you point that thing!” He grumbled, as he started blinking the spots from his vision. “Beats poking around in the dark, though.” He admitted, as he turned back towards the corridor, taking a few steps away, and towards a half-open door. Dazed as he was, he didn’t see the figure coming.

“Fuck!” He exclaimed as a zombie lunged from the open doorway. It grabbed onto him, with nothing but killing intent in those clouded, dead eyes. It had been a man in his prime before he turned, his arms grasping and clawing at Michael as it tried to find purchase. She attempted to bite him, but Michael raised his right arm and the thing started trying to chew through his leather jacket. The old man was off-balance, struggling to stay standing, as he tried to push the zombie off with little success. What’s more is that his gun was in his right hand, and he couldn’t effectively bring it to bear on the zombie unless it got off his arm.

"Sorry Sorry!" Claudia apologized with a guilty smile as she quickly moved she ligth away from the man. In such an apocalyptic situation like that, searching for some keys at the risk of their own lives, finding a flashlight a relief.
However the situation soon turned dangerous, more dangerous than it already was, when a zombie came up from a room and attacked the old man. the blonde squeaked in terror as the man struggled for his life.

Mustering enough courage Claudia rushed to the man's aid and almost attempted to hit the walking corpse with her hammer, she forze for a momment, realizing that if she missed and hit Michael instead then he would be the next one on the zombie list.
"Fuck it!" she cursed and tackled the monster, letting Michael free. The monster fell over a small hallway table onto which there was a dusty and empty flower pot causing a lot of noise, the girl on the other hand lost balance and immediately fell against the opposite wall of which the table was leaning. She just grumbledd in pain as it seemed she hit her head but was still concious.

The monster, feeling no pain at all, started moving again.

Michael struggled with the zombie for a few moments, before something he couldn’t fully make out rushed it and tackled it off of him, and heard the crash of pottery shattering. He staggered out a couple of steps from the rough jerk, however he was able to recover his footing quickly as he turned to face whatever had just happened.

When he turned, he saw Claudia on the ground as the zombie pushing itself up from the small table it had fallen across. Without a word, he brought his pistol in his now-freed right arm to bear, leveling it at the zombie while it still staggered it’s way to it’s feet, and squeezed the trigger.

The gunshot in such a confined space was louder than any other sound they’d made in the hallway by a mile, but he figured they’d been noticed anyways. The .45 ACP round tore a hole through it’s head, causing it to fall over backwards, but then it started to get back up. Deciding not to give it a chance, he walked over to it, and stomped on it’s head with his combat boots. The thing was still moving, it’s face a mess of blood, broken bone, and teeth as it tried to get up after the first stomp, but it finally stopped moving after he gave it a second stomp.

With that dealt with, he turned back towards Claudia, walking over and offering her a hand up. “Are you alright, ma’am?” He asked, and after a few moments, he said a simple “Thank you, ma’am. That could’ve turned real poorly, real fast.” He said, as he ended up eventually checking his coat. The thing’s teeth didn’t penetrate the tough leather, but he could feel the bruises underneath from the force of the bite. Aside from that, he was slightly winded, but otherwise fine.

Still grumbling she held Michael's hand with the left ans stood up, with the right hand she held her head, hoping that such hit didn't leave a mark. "I have been better..." She replied to the old man's question and picked up the flashlight, she atched the corpse from the corner of her eye, sure it was dead as she heard Michael shooting at it twice.

"I thought this place was empty...I hope we don't run into more surprises..."as she moved the light to iluminate the hallway, one jump scare liek that was enough, another and the girl would have a heart attack. She was about to resume the search for the goddamn key when she felt a metallic noise under her shoe, in deed she had stepped on something hard and slowly stepped back. When she directed the flashlight to whatever that was and it shinned

"M-Mister...!" She squeacked, not knowing the man's name. In any case she reached out the object on the floor and then looked at Michael. "The keys! Looks like them monster had them on it and fell of during all that struggle" she passed them to the him. "Let's get the fuck out of here"

As the young woman picked up the key, he smiled ever so slightly at the one piece of good luck to come out of this nightmare so far. “Well ain’t that somethin’.” Michael said with a relieved tone, as it meant they wouldn’t have to spend more time in close quarters with these freaks than absolutely necessary.

“Right behind ya, ma’am.” He said, before turning back the way they came, keeping half an eye on the door at the end of the hall, just in case. Firing a gun in an enclosed space wasn’t exactly quiet after all, and he had no way of knowing whether more of those freaks would come looking.

“I don’t believe I caught yer name, ma’am. Mine’s Michael.” He said as they moved, not taking his attention off the rear, just in case. Still, he figured that some introduction was warranted, given she’d just saved his life. He followed behind her at a fast walking pace, looking behind every so often to ensure that those things weren’t behind them, at least not yet.

Luck? Destiny? Nevermind, the blonde had found the key. She showed it to Michael so he could tell whether they were the right keys or not, if they were the wrong keys after all the noise they made then they would be fucked for sure. Luckily this were the right keys.

"I wouldn't say it's our lucky day but at least we found them" She joked before Michael told her he would follow from behind, the old man was wise to do so ad they didn't know if there were more zombies that would come after them.
The man with a grumpy face finally introduced himself as Michael, it was the first time Claudia really took her time to scan the man from head to toes, for some reason the girl thought he looked much like her grandfather and the late introduction from the man caught her a little off guard so she took a few seconds to answer as they walked to the vehicle. "Bourton, Claudia Bourton. I would like to say "nice to meet you" but I don't think it's approtpiate for a time like this..." She joked tring to relax a bit after the what just happened inside the building.

"What the hell was that noise? Did you shoot?" One of the survivors waiting by thw Volkswagen asked. The half-american was about to give a mean answer to such stupid question, but managed to take a deep breath a calm down...a bit. "Why am I even holding the keys? Michael please do us the honors" and gave the keys to the man. Ms. Bourton knew the key had to go inside the ignition switch, what followed after that was a mystery to her. The group hurried to get inside the vehicle befoe they were spotted by the zombies on the street.

“I’m glad to meet you properly, miss Bourton.” He said with a smile, as the pair made their way into the parking garage. He had to admit, he liked her. She was being incredibly brave given the situation, especially for someone as young as she was. And she seemed to care for the other survivors’ wellbeing, which he took as a good sign.

As one of the survivors commented about the gunshot as they entered the parking garage, Michael decided he was having none of it today. “What gave it away, Sherlock? The loud bang?” Michael said sarcastically to the survivor, before shaking his head slightly. As Claudia handed the keys over to Michael he nodded as he gently took them with a nod, before climbing into the Volkswagon and plugging the keys into the ignition. He planted a foot on the break as years of muscle memory informed, and then turned the ignition. The engine attempted a stuttering start, and after which he slapped the dashboard with an exclamation. “Come on, ya piece of shit!” He said, before attempting to start the engine again, which resulted in a few more moments of stuttering before the engine roared to life. “There we go.” He said, as he visibly relaxed, and gently patted the dash, then closed the driver-side door and rolled the window down. “All aboard.”

“Hold on, why’s the old guy driving?” One of the survivors asked, to which Micheal snapped back without even looking as he adjusted the mirrors. “I’m sorry, have you driven in a warzone before, smartass? ‘Cause last I checked, you weren’t in Korea, and you look a mighty bit too young to have been in Vietnam.” He said almost off-handedly, as he took a second to change the partially used magazine in his gun for his spare, fully-loaded one, in case he needed the extra rounds.

For a moment as he put his hand on the gear shift, he stopped as it came rushing back, practically hearing the bullets whizzing past his head, the distant detonations of recoilless rifles and artillery shells, and the hoofbeats of a certain horse. He paused for a few moments before he retook control of his senses, and shook his head slightly before bringing his eyes up, and putting the van in gear.

Claudia's eyes went wide open when the old man bursted and anger and reloaded his gun "A-ah let's calm down please, we got enough witht this monsters to be fighting each other!" She squeaked, thinking that maybe the veteran was more dangerous than the zombies. It was a good idea not to make him angry unless they wanted to get shot, but in such situation everyone was on edge.

The man who questioned Michael's driving skill had no other choice but to stay silent, as well as Claudia he realized the old man was no one to fuck around with. He saw his life pass in front of his eyes when the man reloaded his gun, he took a deep breath and looked at all those inside the van, everyone was just as scared as him.

Finally the van started moving, on the way out Michael ran over one of those bastards on the street. It's head exploded like a watermelon and the noise the cracking bones almost made the young blonde puke, but she managed to keep her cool. "Come on Claudia you study medicine you see car accidents all the time..." she muttered to herself but everyone inside the van could hear her.

The street was a complete chaos, cars crushed against other cars, against buildings, street light posts and everything you can crash against in a city including the walking corpses. The blonde could only hope not to end like those drivers.

Michael paused for a moment, confused until he remembered that yes, reloading was something that people could find threatening. He hadn’t been his intention to scare the daylights out of his passengers, but there wasn’t much to be done for it now. “Right. Sorry.” He said quietly, before slotting his pistol back into it’s holster, and taking the van out of the parking garage.

“Woah!” Michael said, a bit surprised, but not especially bothered as he hit a zombie on his way out. In response to the gore on the windshield, he swore for a couple of seconds before finding the knob that triggered the wipers. He took the vehicle down Fox street, and then in response to a few fences he wasn’t quite sure he could run through and a small blockade of burning cars, he turned West down Prauge boulevard. He then turned North, past a few other buildings and accidents.

The old man found the van didn’t turn as well as his Honda Civic, but it only took him a couple of near misses with inanimate objects and one hit with a quite animated corpse to get a feel for it. He kept the pace at around 35 mph, despite the normal speed limit of 25 inside the city. This was in part because he had twice the effective space on the road to maneuver with the lack of other drivers, though he did slow down wherever the blockages in the road became particularly egregious. After a few moments, and a third time hitting a zombie, he realized the vehicle was built well enough to take hits far past that, so he stopped avoiding hitting the zombies and started running over any who didn’t get out of the way, though he didn’t go out of his way to hit them. By the time they’d reached the high school, he’d flattened another four.

The vehicle’s engine started puttering as the van approached the Raccoon City High School, which elicited swearing from him, as he knew that sound. The gas tank was empty, despite what the fuel gauge was showing, as he figured the gauge to be broken. “Well, shit. I guess this is our stop, unless someone’s got a gas can hidden somewhere.” He glanced outside, staring at RC High and the lit windows that were scattered throughout the building, though he remembered the power being cut to a good part of the city. He found it odd for a few minutes, until he remembered the gas-powered generator in the basement of the RC Post Office, and a handful of other buildings too. “... They’ve gotta have a generator in there somewhere. And unless it’s made of car batteries and prayers, then it’ll have gas.” He turned back towards the other passengers, looking around in the back of the vehicle. “Anyone want to come with me?” He asked almost sarcastically, not expecting anyone to want to leave the vehicle. Even if it was dark, the locked doors would probably serve as better protection from the zombies than any weapon.
