Personality:
  • Fiercely Independent
    • You can rely on her to get her tasks done without having to constantly be peeking over her shoulder to make sure it happens. However, it does make her less of a group people and she doesn't always get along with those in a leadership position.
  • Incredibly Smart
    • Tarrian was raised in a noble home and took schooling from a young age. She is quiet educated in both cultures and fighting tactics. She is a reliable ally in battle and politics.
  • Caring for Others
    • Tarrian has a large heart and wants to help those in the world that have lost everything. She understands that the Darkness and Grims need to be vanquished for their world to be saved and so she takes up the arms to battle.





History: Raised in a noble family, Tarrian knew only life from a silver spoon. She could not go without. Servants, personal chiefs, nannies, she never knew what it meant to be lowly and common. This did not, however, change her caring nature. Even as a child, she could be seen sharing her things with her gaggle of servants. She made friends relatively easily and took joy in knowing that she could share some of her wealth with them. No matter how much her parents would chide her for giving away her things to the common folk, Tarrian still did it.

She spent her days learning, studying up on the histories of countries and politics. She learned what it took to lead a city and the people were eager for her to take control of one herself. But that all changed when she found herself blessed by Aleathen. In one of her many sword battles with the master swordsman, she found herself beginning to glow. From that moment on, her path was changed. Cast to the side were her plans to be a noble and rule a city, now she was called to a much more sacred task. Defending her people and the world from the darkness.

She continued her studies under the master swordsman, learning how to best utilize her new skills and abilities but eventually, there was only so much he could train her. She needed to seek out a true stronghold that held a faction of the Light Bearers. So, wishing her family and friends farewell, she made her way Oakenhaven. There she joined the Light Bearers and began her quest to cleanse the world of darkness.




Spells and Abilities:
  • Enhanced Agility
    • the Blessing of Aleathen granted her enhanced agility and reflexes. It allows her to move quicker in her armor and wield her swords easier. However, it does drain her faster if she pushes herself for too long. She will grow tired the more she relies on it.
  • Taunting Cry
    • She's learned to weave magic into her calls and shouts, amplifying them or targeting a specific group of enemies and forcing them to focus solely on her. It's useful when she finds someone is in need of help on the battle field but it can quickly cause her to be overwhelmed if too many enemies swarm her or she attracts the attention of someone far stronger than her.
  • Light Blades
    • She can imbue her blades with the blessing of Aleathen. They glow brightly, causing more damage to Grims and slashing through the darkness. She can also cast out those light blades as shockwaves towards enemies.





Weapons or tools:
  • Crimson Armor
    • Being of noble birth, her parents would not allow her to leave home without a good set of armor to keep her safe. Painted red so that all would see her coming, this steel armor is of great quality and has kept her safe through many a battle.
  • Dual Blades
    • A matching pair of sharp steel blades. They're long, giving her plenty of reach, and they're heavy, though her enhanced agility allows her to use them easily.





Miscellaneous Information:
Just because she may not like being told what to do by figures of authority, she will still follow her orders to the letter. One day she hopes to be in one of those leadership roles but until she gets to that level, she will continue to follow her orders. Perhaps with a sneer or grunt, but follow them nonetheless.

Personality:

  • Vindictive

    • His ego is large and he holds himself at a higher status than anyone or anything around him. It can make him react rashly, especially if he feels he was slighted
  • Manipulative

    • He is smart enough to enlist lower Grim to his cause, usually using them as cannon fodder.
  • Malicious

    • Sadistic and blood thirsty, if you get into a fight with him, there will be no mercy or quick death. He plays with his prey, enjoying the screams of the anguish.





History: No one knows where he came from. Some say the darkness has to have pulled him from the very depths of hell itself. He leads an army of Grims through the lands, single handedly taking out Light Bearers and plunging villages and towns into darkness.




Spells and Abilities:

  • Hell fires

    • Algrimar's very blood is fire, each step leaving a flaming footstep in his wake. He can blast the fire out from his orifices, his mouth being his most favored location. His flames are only simple fire, however. Though they can be quite hot after leaving his body, it does not take long for them to simmer and die out unless provided some kind of kindling.
  • Enthralling Glare

    • His eyes blaze with the darkness and locking gazes with him can trap someone within his. The gaze can amplify the fear of his opponents or allies, causing them to quiver and fear under his angry glare. Once the gaze is broken, however, the fear can quickly fade.
  • Bolstering Roar

    • He can release a loud, earth shaking roar. Any Grim within a 30 foot radius around him is sent into an enraged state. The effect only lasts for a few minutes and can cause the lesser Grim to experience seizures and collapse afterwards.





Weapons or tools:

  • Deadly claws

    • Algrimar has long and extremely sharp claws on each finger. He uses these claws to butcher his prey and slaughter any Light Bearer he encounters
  • Large Horns

    • Two giant horns extend from the side of his head and rise up to curl before his face. They are not just for display. He uses them as guards to block and deflect weapons.
  • Eternal Armor

    • His armor looks as if it was cast from the souls of the damned. Not only is the armor intimidating, it's quite sturdy and does a wonderful job protecting him.
  • Protruding Spikes

    • All along Algrimar's body are spikes that slim down to vicious points. He uses them spikes to impale his enemy.

Personality:

Honest and Loyal
Lig is always truthful, she rarely ever lies (but she only lies to people she never trusts), and Lig is faithful and very supporting of her friends and family. Though these traits of hers can often clash.

Misguided and Arrogant
Despite being honest and loyal, Lig lacks understanding and proper direction, which means she sometimes, or always, makes the wrong decisions, which led her on a path of to try and understand herself after living a world of lies her whole life. Lig’s misguidedness is rooted in her belief of her exaggerated sense of self-importance, abilities and her knowledge, so she may act arrogant, in a sense, which brought on her misguidedness.

Apathetic and Insecure
Another one of the worst traits about her, Lig lacks any interest, emotion, or enthusiasm due to her limited amount of social interaction in her life, and it’s why it makes it difficult for her to be honest, and she also lacks to feel how others feel, which causes her to make decisions without knowing how others would feel about it. Lig is also very dependent on others, and is very fearful of abandonment, she can also doubt her self-worth, which doesn’t mix well with her arrogance and she always seeks validation externally, and if she doesn’t get it, it causes her to get back into a low self-esteem.

History: Lig was raised in a cramped beach house on the coast of Dogfalls, with her mother (her mother’s name is Leer Muskiet) and two brothers (their names are Veer Blou and Arig Blaps). All the names of her family have a meaning, like her own, which means “Red Light”, her mother’s name means “Leather Mosquito”, her brothers’ names mean “Blue Feather” and “Uncomfortable Mistake”, Lig never knew her father (he was a king from a faraway land, named Gomtor Skoonheid, his name means “Uncivilised Beauty”). Lig was raised on lies made by her mother over why her father was gone, such as “he went to get bread in Mistmoor” or “he’s sailing over here on a very choppy sea”, in which he never came and Lig started to never ask her mother again.

Spells and Abilities:

Imitate/Copy Appearance - Lig can mimic others voices and appearances with the flick of her wrist, she will have to learn how the other person talks before mimicking their voice fully and she will have to put on the other persons’ clothes to fully transform into them.
Alter Mind - Lig can alter other people's minds, including her own, but she decides not to do this on herself since she’s “fine the way I am”, she can alter the way the person thinks, their self-image or perception of themselves, and even their senses/cognitive functions such as sight, taste, hearing, and as such. But she really can’t be trusted with sight and hearing, due to blinding and deafening her brother Arig completely, when she was using her “Alter Mind” as training for self-defense. This ability can't work on strong-willed people, however.
Midnight - One of Lig’s minor spells, she can focus on a certain place in her area, and get it into a darkened state, almost like the night sky.

Weapons and Tools:

Desolation - This is the katana Lig was awarded back at home for her amazing combat ability, when she fought in a battle that took place in her land. The katana is enchanted to detect when someone is charging after her with a weapon, and it has a poison tip, so that it can poison those who she stabs, to make their injuries worse and make them suffer a slow, painful death.
The Jawbreaker - This is a head-crusher Lig was also awarded along with Desolation, which was specially given and customized by her never-present stepfather Haak Byt (his name means “Hook Bite”).

Personality:

  • Relaxed

    • Although beating back the evil hordes can hardly be called a simple task, Hwei approaches it with a sort of carelessness that often invites scorn. Underneath his can't-be-bothered attitude, though, is a strong sense of identity and indeed, "inner peace," that fuels him in his quest to restore light to the world. His calming nature spills out onto those around him, filling them with a sense of peace in otherwise hopeless situations.
  • Curious and open-minded

    • Hwei has always wanted to travel the world. Sure, the conditions may not be perfect, but with the goddess's blessing protecting him, he can't think of reason to hide away at home. He is open and friendly with new people and new experiences, even when perhaps he shouldn't be. He gets distracted easily.
  • Noble

      While Hwei would never call himself a hero - that's a bit too serious for him - he can't turn a blind eye to the evil of the world. Witnessing much of the destruction first-hand lit the fire inside him, and watching the brave sacrifices of the light bearers convinced him to join the fight. Whenever possible, he will try to save others. He has a particular soft spot for children.





History: A dancer and acrobat of the floating circus moored in Dogfalls, Hwei enjoyed an exciting life of performing till the abyss came upon the world. Although Dogfalls was protected, Hwei could not ignore the terrible things happening around him, and sooner or later, he felt like he had to do something more than make merry to the people of the city. It was time to join the fight. An encounter with a Light Bearer only strengthened that belief, and it wasn't long after that that he received his own sigil from the goddess of light.




Spells and Abilities:

  • Martial Arts

    • Hwei practices a type of martial arts that serve as the basis for his dancing and can also be used for combat. His durability and reflexes are both good. He excels at hand-to-hand and one-on-one encounters, but falters when faced with multiple enemies or long-range attacks.
  • Spirit Stances

    • Hwei can assume certain stances that give him boosts in defense, offense, speed, and healing. They only last for a few minutes, however, and using them depletes his spirit energy. The more rhythmic and fluid his combat is, and the less damage he takes, the more his "spirit energy gauge" refills.
  • Spirit Arms

    • Once Hwei has saved up enough spirit energy, he can manifest extra arms to aid him in battle. They only last for a few minutes but are very powerful. (Sometimes he uses them out of combat to complete menial tasks, like folding laundry and washing dishes.)





Weapons or tools:

  • Dancewear

    • Traditional dancewear, consisting of sandals, loose pants, and jewelry. Hwei's weakest point is his chest, which is left uncovered, but he can use the loose scarf around his waist to bait and distract enemies. His jewelry likewise provides a shining effect which can blind enemies.
  • Gauntlets

    • Protect his hands from harm and pack a harder punch.





Miscellaneous Information:

Hwei is highly religious and worships quite a few "lesser" gods and goddesses. When he's not fighting or performing, he can be found praying, meditating, or performing ritual dances in front of his pocket altar, which he always carries with him.

  • Diligent

    • Erik is nothing if not a hardworker. Dedicated to the pursuit of his chosen crafts, and loyal to the tasks placed upon him, he rarely abandons his work before completion. This often comes at the expense of a normalized social life, as he prefers to spend his idle time putting in extra work, whether tending to a small detail he might have missed in a prior task, or simply supplemental time to practice one thing or another.
  • Self-Critical

    • You’ll almost never find anyone as quick to critique Erik as quickly as Erik himself. When he’s not actively engaged in something, he is reflecting on what he has done, and analyzing his own efforts several times over. More often than not, he finds a flaw in his prior actions or inactions, and is likely to labor on those mistakes until he can demonstrably do better. It can be hard to pull him out of this headspace, and he often waves aside efforts to assure him that he did or is doing just fine.
  • Load-Bearing

    • As a knight charged with the defense of his city, Erik is one to shoulder great burdens and pressures, especially those associated with his purpose at hand. He frequently assumes responsibility for a great many things. He is one to stretch himself thin; at times he forgets that there are others that [would] share his burden if only he would allow them to.




History: Born and raised within the mountainous landscape of Mistmoor, Erik is descended from a long line of blademasters. Over no less than six generations, the Ostreicher family had lived and died by their swords. At least as far back as Erik’s great-great-grandfather, the family had been among the warriors, soldiers, and knights that directly defended Mistmoor. Starting with his grandfather, the family was also responsible for the training of the next generations of baldewielders, having done so in the service of several noble lines.

Needless to say, Erik was born with a great deal to live up to. He has carried a sword at his side since his hand could first grip a hilt; some joke that he could barely lift the swords he was given… others retort that it would have made for good conditioning if he had. Such banter aside, his upbringing meant that he was constantly being pushed on grounds of physical, mental, and spiritual attributes. His grandfather and his father afterwards proved hard taskmasters and tough teachers. Erik would describe having been worked to the bone to condition himself to one day take up his family’s mantle as a protector of Mistmoor; at times, his training may have bordered on abuse, with perfection being demanded at all times.

Since his father and grandfather frequently instructed both soldiers and nobles alike in the arts of combat, Erik has brushed shoulders with many within the city’s upper echelon. He has taken his place at the forefront of Mistmoor’s defensive walls.




Spells and Abilities:

  • Spirit Charge.

    • Erik draws from a pooled reserve of magic to flow directly into his body, amplifying his physical prowess for a short period. Using magic in this manner strains the human body, as the physical essence of a being cannot process energy from beyond so easily. Erik cannot sustain this state for very long. Nor can he use it in rapid succession. Excessive reliance on this ability can lead to fatigue, and possibly even death.
  • Aura Pulse

    • Erick projects an energized aura that can ward off foes, and even block against attacks. The potency of an Aura Pulse is dependent on how wide an area Erik attempts to cover with it. Its effective range is within a ten foot radius, but maintaining a closer range enables it to create a more formidable barrier.
  • Uncanny Prowess

    • Erik’s abilities in combat are commendable to say the least. Perhaps not always the mightiest in strength, or the quickest in his footwork, his surety, awareness, and technical form stand among the elites among those standing against the Darkness.





Weapons or Tools:

  • Aleathen Edge

    • Erik’s primary weapon in combat is a single-handed European-style sword. A 30-inch blade, maintained to pristine condition, glowing with pearly aura, handled from a gold plated hilt that seems to never stain. Erik’s is a blade of long history as one from the early ages of Darkness when the Goddess Aleathen first intervened. The Aleathen Edge was blessed by the Goddess herself, at least they say, making it both significantly more durable and resistant than others like it, and uniquely effective, especially against the hordes of Darkness.
  • Light Forge Shield

    • A Heater style shield, large enough to cover the whole of Erik’s torso from waist to chest. Its white facade is trimmed in gold, featuring a similarly colored sigil of protection. The magic imbued within the shield allows it to repel both physical attacks and offensive spells.
  • Traditional Armor

    • Erik is adorned by a set of armor traditional to the Knights of Mistmoor. It was crafted specifically to fit him when he officially took up arms to the city’s defense. Thus, each piece is uniquely adjusted to his size and form to the greatest extent possible. The metallurgy is that of a tradition from the deeper recesses of the mountains surrounding Mistmoor, the materials having an uncanny mix of both relative light weight and high protective capability for that weight.
