Sunny had followed the rest up to the Agency's office space and taken a seat around the coffee table like most of the others, but he remained quiet as their boss laid out the details surrounding their first job and his new colleagues offered their own approaches. For the most part, he stared down at his plate of strawberry shortcake as they talked, but didn't lift the fork he'd brought along to eat it, seemingly deep in thought, or perhaps in a full-out reverie. It was only when people began suggesting going to the extreme of "dealing with" the demon in a permanent way that he abruptly lifted his head to shoot the offenders an intense glare. Finally, he took a deep breath and let it out slowly as "Henry" began to teach Selene how to use a phone, and spoke up at long last, looking toward Leonardo with a pensive frown:

"Boss, we've only been contracted to determine whether the possession is real and what the cause of the situation is, 's that right? If that's all that's needed, and if the supposed Demon can actually read minds, then all we need to do for the former is trick it into doing so while we're speakin' with the kid, and presumably his momma'd let us do that without pretendin' to be a psychologist. I figure we want to do that first, before takin' any other steps, because if there's actually a Demon involved, then after that all we can really do is advise Miss Amari to seek the help of the Church and then we investigate how it happened separately, but all the extra legwork 'n contrivances involved in Mimi here feignin' a profession might not be necessary. Plus, if Momma finds out we lied about it, she ain't gonna be happy. Not to disparage your contributions, Miss Tuckinshine." He gave Mimi a thin, strained smile as he concluded.

"As far as I know, the relic was never held by the Amari Family. The Church took it. This was years ago, so while it was not impossible to resurface now, I don't think it's likely," Leonardo answered Winnifred's question, as Richard started teaching Selene how to use a phone.

It was then that the final members of their group, one who had been silent until now, spoke.

Leonardo answered Sunny with a nod, "Yes. That's correct. We're only hired to find out whether this is a real case of demonic possession or not. If you think it is...well, then we'll need to inform the Church or the DoM. It's against Ms Fatma's wishes, but in the end, it would be irresponsible for us to just let it be at that point."

Leonardo noticed Sunny looking uncomfortable when they were talking about 'dealing' with the demons. Perhaps he had some history with similar cases when he worked in the DoM? Leonardo could not help but wonder.

"Anyway, if that's all, then...here," Leonardo put a car key on the table, before continuing, "Go to the garage below, and there will be a black Toyota Camry. Consider the company's car. I assume one of you can drive? You can hash out the details of your plan on the way. I agree with the gist of it, so I'll leave the rest to you."

Let not do any lying, honey I’m talking about strategy. If this is the real deal, then whatever’s in the shadows is smart enough to notice a family reaching for help, and smart enough to duck the spotlight.

My suggestion is to look for the quieter signs, the ones that don’t scream “possession” on the front porch. It’s less obvious, less alarming, and it keeps the family from feeling like their little girl’s been turned into a scary story. Plus, putting her with someone who actually specializes in kids? That’s comfort and cover. Win-win.

Once the demon is confirm we can advise the family the next best course of action.

...when the rest had moved to the garage, Winnifred moved with surprising urgency to get to the driver's seat. Blessed with the kind of body that makes her look like she has to lean up to see over the steering wheel, she wordlessly took that position unless someone really wanted to get physical with a lady that had a hammer in her lap as she drove.

Her reasoning was simple and explained to the others regardless if they asked why: she whipped out her wallet and slid out her Oregon-issued driver's license, with the inset photo showing a younger Ms. Pylypyshyn who had just a little more spark in her eyes. Not too much, though.

"...in my experience, anywhere ever," she clicked her seatbelt in as anyone interested gawked at her wallet and its contents, "police are less kind to out-of-state drivers. Try to sound less European if they talk to you."

Selene It's playing the smartphones baffled at all the functions, it has
Even then, she noticed Sunny's discontentment

However at the mountain of a car

“ I once drove a car one of my assignments required me to use the vehicle and successively use it to do a target”

She sets up with a weird bit of confidence like driving a car once I mean you're a good driver
And the terminology she uses of “successively use it to do a target”
Paints on very obvious picture that she crashed the car through whoever her target was

“ But I believe in it , incredibly unclear what is our actual plan”

“ I'M not aware of any of your capabilities so can any of y'all, please inform me If any of you have a bill to detect such magical creatures if not I might have a solution”

As Selene holds up her suitcase

After being given the address for the Amari Residence, the group departed in the Toyota Camry lent by Leonardo as the 'company's car'.

In truth, it was clear to the group that it was more Leonardo's own car than one purchased specifically to be used for the agency, as it contained various knick-knacks such as parking stubs for Seastone Pavilion and Cerulean Shopping Centre, half-read magazines, and several unopened water bottles.

It was not exactly messy, but it was clearly a 'lived-in' one, as in cars used regularly for personal use.

The car had also been customised, with the addition of buttons that were not part of the original design. Leonardo said that they were meant for some astromancy-based augmentation, but since none of them practised astromancy, better to just ignore them.

Given the small size of Millhaven, the group was able to arrive in the business district in about half an hour, going along the road next to Newfen River, before eventually crossing to the Northern part of the town through a bridge that connected Brinewell Park. Soon enough, they found themselves in an apartment building not far from the Pearlwind Hotel.

Those in the group who would be talking to their client directly disembarked, making their way to the client's apartment after informing security, upon which Fatma was contacted, who then gave the okay.

Upon arriving, they were greeted by their client, Fatma Amari.

Looking a bit haphazard, clearly not sleeping well for a few days, Fatma gave them a small smile, "You all are...from the Sidereal Agency, right? Thank you for coming."

After she led the group into the living room and had the group sit down, she then asked, "Can I offer you anything? Tea? Coffee?"

Meanwhile, those who remained in the car started to look into Evan Amari's digital footprints. From what they could find, he looked like a relatively normal 1st year high school kid. The school he attended was the New Covenant Christian Academy, located not far from the apartment, within walking distance.

Derald Smith

“Ach! When was the last time somebody cleaned this car!?” Derald exclaimed and stepped out of the car as quickly as possible as soon as they arrived at the place. Multiple water bottles fell off at his feet as soon as he opened the car door and made his exit.

Clearly, it was not a fun ride for the mafiaso as he felt his legs all numb up from being cramped for about an hour, travelling inside this compact vehicle. Not to mention the number of drive-thrus they have to go through on the way there. Despite being highly resistance to poison, Derald tasting an ample amount of that good ol’ American fast food did a number on his stomach, making him a bit queasy during the travel.

This company car has seen better days, as it is used for some sort of mobile workshop for their boss. One of the leading mages of astronomy living inside a sedan, who would have thought?

“Seems like a quiet neighborhood. It would be a damn shame if a demon started terrorizing this place.” Derald snorted as he lit up a cigarette, skimming the area.

Derald decided to stay with the investigation team, rather than meeting Ms. Fatma and her child himself. Too many people visiting her place might agitate this so-called ‘demon child’.

“I’m quite familiar with the area since my pad is not far from here.” He said to the group, protecting his eyes with his hand from the sun while looking up at the huge signage ‘Pearlwind Hotel’ from afar.

“So this is the profile of one Evan Amari, and his school is New Covenant Christian Academy, this is probably my best lead to test my theory. To see if anyone knows him personally. You know what they say, it takes a village to raise a child. I feel like Ms. Amari has skipped a few deets about her son.” He said, checking his phone.

“You’re welcome to tag along if you like; that way, we can cover more ground.” He said before leaving.

As Derald was fast approaching the school zone, He began his ritual while crossing the street. He waved his cigar in the air as if he were writing something in the wind with its smoke. He then crushed the cigarette stick in his palm and smothered its ash across his scarf.

At this moment, the man called Derald was no more. His cover up from normal eyes is in effect. If anyone ask what Derald look like, there's a ninety percent chance they would mess up his description.

He was a nobody; his identity is undefined. He wasn’t a mage. He was a nobody, like a face in the crowd.

Derald pondered and saw a street sweeper bearing the academy's logo. Perhaps this is a good way to start the investigation.

He approached the janitor all friendly, claiming to be his workmate, and asked if he knew a student named ‘Evan Amari’ and even if he doesn’t, He suggested that the janitor should take the day off and go home, offering to take his place for the day.

Despite being a 3rd-rate mage. Derald knew a thing or two about hypnosis. It isn’t memory-altering or complete Rasputin mind control level, but it can be persuasive to normal folks.

Richard Norton

It took an hour of deliberations, delegations and discussion before a course of action was made. Richard would like to claim that he contributed but all he did was to say he could probably do either role. He is a bodyguard by trade and he looks young enough to pretend to in the story in the end the need for an actual guarding won and here he is walking behind Sunny and Mimi actual detectives who will do the thinking.

Safe to say he is in his element.

Richard remained standing letting the detectives do their work, looking around the house for any potential hints.

Selene don't know what she was doing to say she even knew what's going on isn't overestimation of her abilities and skill sets Selene is a mage through and through and not just that I mage specialized in combat in simple words , investigation wasn't so strong suit or her special seat the extent of investigation was scales is tracking down a person which is useful but not in this specific circumstance

So when Selene what's given the choice between going to the school or house she really didn't know the difference

After all Selene is many things subtle is not one of them so the moment everyone to paying attention to her she set climbing the building looking for the child to room

Selene was honestly more curious and seeing the child than anything despite her earlier words claiming that she did not have to kill a child
Isn't completely true In complete honesty this was a request of her cousin because of an incident in her childhood her cousin desperate wish for her to not need to hurt in the child

But facing the current situation Selene, what potentially could turn a child into a flash of abomination, will she be the only person in the immediate area who could solve the problem like killing the creature She really can't imagine herself, particularly caring.

But that was after all the point of this vacation See if you could find a way what's to care about humanity

MiMi TucknShine

MiMi enters the room; however, she is not in the usual attire one would expect a socialite to wear. Instead, she is dressed in a doctor’s lab coat and carries a clipboard, pen, and notebook.

Her Magecraft is active.

One can become many.
One is not confined.
One is boundless potential.

The garment she is wearing has reconfigured who she is, temporarily allowing her to express the competence, posture, instincts, and working knowledge of a child psychologist while still remaining herself.

“Hello, my name is MiMi TucknShine. I’m a child psychologist with Sidereal Agency. It is a pleasure to meet you,” she said to Fatma.

"I'm all good I don't need any drinks thank you for offering," she respond back to Fatma

Winnifred had arrived with the others, and she was sans hammer - probably not a big deal to others yet, but to her this was a risky gamble. Before stepping away from the car she had hovered around the front seat for a while, leaning over the tool and whispering to it. Quiet assurances...for her or for the hammer? Who knows. If you wanna figure it out you gotta do some detective work.

Despite clearly having something wrong with her Ms. Pylypyshyn had a good sense regarding her own appearance, and how most people tended to react around the sort who look strung out while covered in tattoos...since she was sans coat, one could see a good amount of them up her arms. The others were standing front and center while she hung out in the corner, faintly attempting to hide herself behind a potted plant.

And also talking to a door.

"Excuse me," she whispered into the doorframe from a couple of inches away, "I would like a moment. Think, if you can. How far back do you remember? Aside from the two who live in this house, has anyone else come inside?"

New Covenant Christian Academy

The janitor's eyes started to glaze over as he heard Derald's words and smelled the aroma of his cigarette ashes wafting from his scarf. Then, with a jovial smile, he replied,

"Oh, hey! Evan Amari? The Freshman, right? Yeah, I heard of the kid. I don't wanna gossip about kids, but man, these high school kids feel like they're living in a sitcom drama, sometimes, don't they? The kid got into a fight with a junior in the volleyball team last Friday. Dunno the details, something about starting position, I hear. The Junior, Isaac, said something about how Evan's dad can't even be bothered to stay with his mom. Then Evan shot back with how, at least his dad was loyal to his mom longer than Isaac. The kid then said something about Isaac cheating on his girlfriend with the captain of the girls' volleyball team. Anyway, fists went flying and then some of us staff who were here separated them."

@Silverstein

Amari Residence

There was nothing that particularly stuck out to Richard. The Amari Residence was the typical middle-sized apartment room, with a decent-sized living room that included a kitchen area, two bedrooms, and a toilet. The house itself was a bit on the messy side, but it was far from being unlivable.

It was about what was expected from a house for a teenage boy with a working single mother who did not have a lot of time to clean and tidy up the home.

Rather notable, however, was that though there were photos put up here and there, there were only a few family photos where Fatma and Evan were in the same frame.

@Digmata

Amari Residence

"Oh. A child psychologist..." Fatma remarked. She had never met a psychologist before, but from the professionalism and amiability displayed by this woman, Fatma imagined that a child psychologist was probably the sort of person MiMi was.

She then continues, "That's really great, I did think of bringing him to a psychologist, but with the supernatural nature...I'm not sure how I would be explaining that."

@PureWitch

Amari Residence

The door replied back to Winnifred with an excited whisper, "Oooh! Looking for a juicy gossip, are you, darling?"

The voice appeared to have taken a feminine tone to Winnifred. One that one could imagine belonged to a noisy housewife in the neighbourhood.

"Well, you see—Oh, but you didn't hear this from me, okay, girl?—Up until a year ago, the Father was still in the picture. But, get this, he cheated on Ms Fatma there with a student, and they ended up divorcing."

With an exaggerated sigh, the door then added, "That's why you NEVER marry a man who is too handsome and also has a successful career as a professor in a Uni."

There really was only one 'Uni' in Millhaven, the Pacific Crest College. So most likely, that was where Fatma's ex-husband worked.

The door continued, "Ever since then, the only guests, really, were Mr and Mrs Anderson, they're the kids' grandparents from his father's side. The way I understand it, they thoroughly sided with Ms Fatma when that whole affair debacle happened, so they still have good relationships with Ms Fatma. Oh, but they just had this big argument last night, though. Mr and Mrs Anderson wanted to bring Evan to the Church to meet a Pastor—the kid is apparently possessed—Ms Fatma didn't want to, though."

“Oh, man, that’s a riot! How scandalous, You ain’t lying about the situation being straight from a sitcom drama, The moxie of these kid these days, letting their fist do the talking. Misinformation and secrets casually thrown around, spreading like wildfire from classroom to classroom. Some things never change at high school, huh?” Derald can’t help but to shed a tear and busting his gut from laughing as soon as the janitor finishes his gossip.

The young mafiaoso finds the sweeper’s story quite amusing and helpful, to say the least. But he needs to dig deeper. Find more info about the Amari's.

“Was this Evan kid always this violent and a troublemaker? Also, what did his father and mother say about this incident? I’m sure they got called to the principal's office one way or another. Have you seen them around these parts?”

"Dunno much about the Evan kid, still a freshman, you know? He hasn't been attending the school for long. Didn't hear much about him until the recent incident, though. So, probably not a troublemaker. Actually, Isaac also keeps his nose clean most of the time. Apparently, no one even knew he was cheating on his girlfriend until Evan blurted it out, so...Maybe it's just something the volleyball teams knew but no one else, who knows?"

Then, with a smirk, the janitor added, "Anyway...you asking about the parents, right? Yeah, they were called in all right, though only the Mother came, since she's a single mother. Man, the kid's mother is a real looker, though. From what I heard, single too, since her husband cheated on her. Damn, man, I wonder what the girl he cheated on her with looked like if he cheated on a wife that smokin' hot. Oh, yeah, apparently, rather than her kid getting into a fight, the coach told me that she seemed more concerned that the kid seemingly was able to blurt out that Isaac was cheating on his girlfriend out of nowhere."

“Now that sounds rather strange, I hate to be Isaac at that moment. I can’t imagine some random freshman blurted out your secret affair out in the open.” Derald scratches his chin and ponders.

Perhaps it's the demon talking, early signs of precognition and weaponizing it to others are what I’m getting here. Man, if only i have that gift, i could blackmail so many other rival gangs.

Also, Outside of being divorced, Mrs. Fatma’s profile never mentioned that she was being cheated on by her husband. This plays a huge role, like how does Fatma kept custody of Evan? And how does it affect the child's psyche? He seems to lash out at the very mention of it.

Arrghh. Too many assumptions, not enough concrete leads. Maybe it's time to get close to Evan’s inner circle.
Derald thought to himself.

“So does this Evan kid have any friends, or any contact within or outside the school other than his hot mom? you say he's in the volleyball team right? are there any other extra ciricular activities he's involved with?” he asked.

New Covenant Christian Academy

Listening to Derald's newest question, the janitor frowned, "I don't know. I'm just the janitor. Why would I know those sorts of details about a 14-year-old? He's only in the Volleyball Team as far as I know."

It was then that someone else called out, "Excuse me. Did I hear you were talking about Evan? As in Evan Amari?"

The man who just spoke was a red-haired man with a goatee, wearing a leather jacket over a shirt.

"I'm sorry, who are you...?" the janitor trailed off, before he seemingly recognised the man, "Ah! Wait, Pastor Gabriel? Almost didn't recognise you in casual clothes."

The man, identified by the janitor as Pastor Gabriel, smiled, "Ahaha...well, this is one of the perks of being a Protestant priest, I get to go around in casual clothes when not 'on duty' so to speak. Anyway, I assume you go to the Church of Christ the Carpenter?"

The janitor nodded, "Oh, yes. I really like your sermon, Pastor. But, umm...what are you doing here?"

"Thank you for the compliments, but that's only thanks to the Lord," Gabriel replied with a smile, before continuing, "As for why I'm here...Evan Amari's grandparents also go to our Church. They told me something concerning yesterday, after the worship service. Apparently, his mother is not really fond of the Church, so I was hoping to be able to talk to the teachers here. Oh, of course, I brought a letter of introduction from Evan's grandparents."

Turning to Derald, he then added, "Oh. Forgive me, we haven't met, have we? I'm Gabriel Tucker, a pastor at the Church of Christ the Carpenter. And you are...? It seems like you were also asking about Evan?"

It was hard to gauge the mind of the inanimate - even if Winnifred claimed to speak with them as people she'd never dare to say that they were human. There were gaps in understanding, though she loved them...and usually they weren't this chatty. That's what the end point of this line of thought was. Maybe Winnifred needed to find out how sassy her own door was. Did it have any gossip to spill about the sugar ants that she's been going on a scorched earth campaign against? Did any bobcats come by and talk about their love lives? She needed to know.

What she had in curiosity she lacked in tact because at around this point she forgot to lower her voice. Just below audibility, she squinted and thought out loud...

"...I'll take your advice to heart. I'm already wary enough." She got most of her dating advice from architecture. "But you're certain...they didn't bring along any priest here? Just spoke about it, no visitation yet."

MiMi turned to Selene, Richard and Winnifred. “Before I meet with Evan, is there any magecraft you can prepare that would allow you to detect supernatural phenomena affecting the child or present within this household? If you know of any protective workings, I would advise having them ready to deploy at a moment’s notice. We do not know what we may be dealing with. Whether it is a demon or something else entirely, we must also assume it may be aware that the mother has sought professional assistance. While you are in the room with me, please keep any mystical activity as subtle as possible unless you perceive an immediate threat or clear danger to our safety.

“I would, admittedly, prefer that the child be feigning the matter rather than be subject to something genuinely Supernatural.”

Selene hearing mimi request Puts down her suitcase and open it If anyone could see inside the suitcase
On the right side is a bow and a quiver of arrows , a person with a keen eye could tell those arrows are far too pale and clearly not wood

And on the left side , five percent dog schools are on display

Selene in her own mind , here's wolves howling at the moon where's he throws the dog's skull

A massive black dog about the size of a dire wolf ( 3.5 inches tall and 2.7 interest wide)

With bright crimson eyes contrasted by pitch black fur

“ My wolves have the ability to detect magic particles and dissolved them this should be sufficient”

The familiar sniffs around seeing if it can detect any magical energy in the area.
