✦ Narrator ✦ — "The careful eye sees what the reckless never live long enough to notice."

Location: North Ryke - Dungeon, Floor 1
Time: Early Morning

The party’s attention turns toward the right-hand corridor.

Before anyone commits fully, several members take a moment to study the passage more closely.

Percival kneels briefly, his gloved fingers brushing lightly across the disturbed stone. The dust tells a quiet story. Something large passes through this corridor regularly, but the drag marks are inconsistent. Not a single creature, but several. Clawed feet, scraping bone, and something heavy that occasionally drags behind them.

Xian-Fu steps forward next, her nose lifting slightly as she draws in the scent of the air. Beneath the stale odor of ancient stone and dungeon dust, something else lingers.

Rot.

Not fresh, but unmistakable.

Talos crouches near the entrance of the passage as well, running his large fingers across the floor. The grooves in the stone are shallow but repeated, worn slowly over time. Whatever travels through this corridor does so often enough to carve its presence into the rock itself. Like an ogre dragging an axe across the floor.

Silence follows.

The corridor ahead stretches roughly eighty feet before widening into a modest stone chamber.

At the far end of that chamber stands a heavy stone door.

Unlike the rest of the dungeon’s construction, this one appears intentionally sealed. Thick slabs of fitted stone form the frame, while the door itself is carved with faded geometric patterns. The runes lining the nearby walls glow faintly brighter here, their pale light casting long shadows across the chamber floor.

And something else waits there.

Four figures stand between the party and the door.

At first glance they resemble the remains of long-dead warriors and mages. Rusted armor clings loosely to massive skeletons, each one about half the size of Talos. The party sees empty sockets staring forward from beneath broken helmets. Fragments of old weapons remain clutched in bony fingers: a chipped axe, a notched spear, a worn staff, and a bent sword.

They do not move. They do not breathe. Still, they are there.

The moment the party’s footsteps echo a little too loudly down the corridor, one of the skeletons tilts its skull slightly.

Bone scrapes against bone.

A hollow rattle echoes through the chamber.

Slowly… deliberately… the four undead sentinels begin to move, lifting their weapons with jerking, unnatural motions.

As the four sentinels roar, piles of bone in the far corners seem to come to life. About 20 human sized skeletons.

Slowly… deliberately… the four sentinels raise their weapons, ancient joints creaking as they step forward to block the approach to the door.

A deep, rasping roar escapes their hollow frames.

And the sound awakens something else.

In the far corners of the chamber, what first appeared to be scattered debris begins to shift.

Piles of bones tremble. Skulls roll across the floor.

Then they rise.

One after another, skeletons bring themselves upright from the heaps, assembling into humanoid forms. Rusted scraps of armor hang loosely from some of them, while others carry little more than cracked femurs and corroded blades.

Thirty-two of the human-sized skeletons stagger to their feet, their empty sockets turning toward the intruders.

Astra simply nodded accepting the party's wishes with no further discussion.. she had spoken her piece of tactical assessment.. the party chose otherwise.

"So be it." was all she remarked as she proceeded on point walking down the Right path leading the way with no signs of distaste or fear. If battle presented itself to her face... too bad for her foes for they would learn the errors of that painful choice...

----

When the room opens up Astra continues walking noting the Four skeletal figures she at first takes as 'scarecrows to warn off intruders, but cocks her head when they being to move! She continues walking forward even when they begin to roar and the corpse remains within the room begin to gather and form more partially rotted skeletal figures but she does not stop or even slow her pace showing no fear whatsoever... casting her gaze about the chamber... counting their number.

Calling back over her shoulder without slowing or turning she comments, "...I'll assume that talking to these animated corpses is unless and just proceed to their destruction... unless someone has some compelling reason for me not too?"

She continues to to walk toward the thickest collection of the animate corpses ... tossing her cloak over her left shoulder and lifting her left clenched fist...

If no one forestalls her when she is within 30'ft feet of the foes... she takes a step... and suddenly moves right into them in a single step as if sliding across the floor stirring up a cloud of dust in her wake... to deliver a HAYMAKER Blow into their ranks...

Which hits all of them within a 5'ft radius of her creating a spiderweb of cracks in the floor and resounds about the chamber in a Thunderous ~ CRACK!!!

And THEN she does it AGIAN.. delivering another thunderous blow cracking the floor at the Next nearest grouping of skeletal targets ~ wading into the foes ranks ~ CRACK!!!

Actions:
1. Flight F {No altitude.. just move 30'ft feet suddenly into melee range!}
2. [HAYMAKER] - [Natural Weapons: Viltrum Fist] F ~ [Fighting Style: Viltrum Fist] F, [Area] F {5'ft radius}, [Superstrength] F {At the largest grouping of Skeletal figures to hit as many as possible}

3. [HAYMAKER] - [Natural Weapons: Viltrum Fist] F ~ [Fighting Style: Viltrum Fist] F, [Area] F {5'ft radius}, [Superstrength] F {Repeat into the next nearest group hitting as many as possible}
- A powerful sweeping full swing PUNCH with all her strength shattering whatever was unfortunate enough to be targeted - Grade F 0 post cooldown

"Thanks Aster, and thank you Taotie for humouring me. I've read about sentient weapons before, but there's some things I want to know about your experience, since I know you can't possibly speak for all sentient weapons." As Silas took Taotie in his hand it seemed the group decided to take the right path. It lead into a slightly long hallway, so he had time to ask a couple questions.

I'm assuming you can hear my thoughts while I hold you given how I saw Aster acting while he was holding you, Silas intentionally thought, hoping he was right and he wasn't just holding Taotie in silence. Again, thank you for dealing with my eccentricity. I guess my first question is, have you always been a weapon? Or did you used to be a person who was put into a weapon? Oh, and if I ask anything too personal feel free to tell me off. I've gotten in trouble before for asking insensitive questions. Talking to Taotie also helped Silas keep his mind off this dungeon, which seemed like more of a mistake the more the thought about it.

Despite all of her complaining, Taotie didn't exactly feel anything when she got passed around or in general really. That didn't mean that she didn't have her pride however as she mentally stared on towards Silas' barrage of questions. In any case she did put this upon herself so she wasn't entirely blameless in the grand scheme of things but it didn't prevent her from moping a little until she was finally ready to answer his questions.

'No need to barrage me with so many questions so quickly. Regardless I'm feeling a little kinder than usual so I'll answer a couple of your questions in turn but not for free of course. You seem to be a nut for random knowledge so what do you know about sentient weapons already? As for the questions you asked me, I somewhat remember being a human before but not all of the details and no I don't know how I became like this or who did so to me before you ask.' She responded sounding rather full of herself despite her diminutive figure.

Well she certainly had an attitude despite being one good throw from being lost forever. But that wasn't exactly fair, Silas was sure he'd be a lot rougher around the edges if he was reincarnated as an inanimate object rather than a humanoid. Well I wouldn't say I know anything, he couldn't let her know everything he knew was from a different worlds fiction books, so he'd have to be deliberate with the thoughts he sent her. I've read a lot of things, but I have no clue how much of it is true. Things like the weapon growing stronger with its wielder, or even refusing to work if they don't accept their wielder. Things like the spirit being that of a hero who bound their soul to the blade, some are old enough to have seen civilizations rise and fall. Speaking of seeing, how do you see? Do you just sense mana in things and use that? The details like that are never mentioned in the literature.

Percival - [Variant - Intermediate], Educated [Lord], Wanted By [The Emerald Slavers - West Empire] - f7941d
Xian-Fu - [Beast] - ed1c24

Suddenly, it was revealed what the chamber ahead housed.

Percival’s eyes naturally glinted towards the runic, embroidered door. His instincts screamed at him, prodding that whatever was behind it was worth a pretty penny. He grinned as smoke left the smoking pipe. “Bounty.”

“But not unguarded.” Xian-Fu growled, being the first of the pair to notice the scrambling skeletons; her master’s greedy grin was mirrored in her own lips, yet her sharp, smug grin was one that craved action instead. “No objections to dealing with them.” She answered Astra’s question with a bestial growl.

“Walking corpses? My word!” Percival’s raised eyebrow told everything about his surprise; his monocled eye was brought to the back of the rifle, lining the iron sight against a group of the skeletons away from Astra. “Insisting on shambling about, how disgraceful! Good thing I always load a ‘special’ shell first, yes, yes?” Carrying the conversation, just as if he were talking about the bad weather, he squeezed the trigger of his rifle. [Percival - Action 1]

The bullet left the barrel in a gunpowder puff of smoke, targeting a possible group of undead, ready to blow up in a 5ft Area, releasing shrapnel as it reached its target.

In tandem, Xian-Fu moved in against any skeleton that still hadn’t formed a group with feline grace, the ferocious grin was still kept on her muzzle. [Xian-Fu - Action 1] The heavy blade sang through the air, less a surgical cut and more a crushing blow that aimed to turn ancient ribs into white powder. [Xian-Fu - Action 2] And in the very next moment, she would step backward, disengaging. [Xian-Fu - Action 3]

Percival would bring the bolt of his hunting rifle up and then back; the spent shell would fly from it, brass clattering against the dusty, stony floor. He brought his rifle up again, this time carefully lining it against the skeletal guardian holding the worn staff. He didn't know much about 'aetheric arts', but he knew a shaman when he saw one. [Percival - Action 2] “Better not risk some curse.” He muttered before squeezing the trigger again, firing against the skeleton. [Percival - Action 3]

Now wasn't that all just fancy, too bad that she couldn't be given something as nice as that after getting trapped into some dinky staff for who knows how long. At the very least she was thankful that she wasn't required to 'bond' or something with some random schmuck that managed to pick her up first, now that would be a truly dreadful way to live. 'Well sorry to rain on your parade but I don't have any of that fancy stuff aside from being able to use magic without too much trouble I guess. Well that and telepathically talking to people too no matter how limited it may be. As for how I see? I simply do, if you want more details on that front then you're going to have to hunt down the guy or gal who created me which I have no clue myself on how to hunt down.'

It was actually a bit of a sad life, being stuck as a weapon, unable to move yourself, Silas could understand why she was so prickly. Well most of the sentient weapons I've read about couldn't use magic themselves, their wielder had to use it through them, so you've got a leg up there. It was at this moment that they made it to the large room with the door, and then the skeletons began to assemble themselves and move towards the group.

Well Taotie, I've got another question for you, Silas thought to her as he moved her to his off hand and began channeling radiant magic, how's your magic when it comes to large groups?

Silas' bracer lit up with what looked like sunlight as he formed three beams of radiant energy above it. Lord Percival seemed to be dealing with the caster skeleton, good call from him. Silas fired all of his beams at the axe wielding skeleton, focus fire was important, hopefully the others had better AoE capabilities than he did. At least he had his radiant magic, that was usually effective against undead, right?

'Still hardly beats, you know, having an actual body! That said...it's nice that I was left with something at least. Certainly won't stop me from bashing the skull in of whoever thought it was a good idea to shove my soul into this staff.' A far off dream but one she clung onto nonetheless seeing as it was her main motivation of tagging along on these adventures in the first place. Practice as much as she wanted to with magic, the only way she was truly going to get any better was to use it in real life scenarios and perhaps with enough control over her magic she would be able to fix her 'no body' problem.

As she finished mulling through her thoughts, Taotie would come to notice that the group had come to an undead shaped road block as several skeletons begun to reanimate themselves as four massive skeletons seemed to take charge of the rest. Or that's what it looked like to her anyways but there was little time to contemplate on such matters as she begun gathering magical energy to deal with the incoming threat. 'Well I'd say I'm decent enough at clearing out hordes at the very least. Will need a bit of time between each spell though so try not to die until then.' She'd reply back with as she soon fired out five magical beams of energy spread between the five closest skeletons that she could aim at.

"Finally some action!"

All the way down the corridor was already making the half giant bored, he was big alright but still just a boy, so he was prone to foolishness and bravado, as it is common for the young ones. Astra question barely grazed his ears and he was already jumping towards the enemy.

"Now lets see if you are as bad as you look!"

The giant rushed towards the biggest skeleton he could see and swung his fist in a wide arc coming from below, aiming for the legs. After the hit he would then reposition himself some feet away from the horde of skeletons as to not get surrounded and to keep himself in front of his more frail allies.

✦ Alexander Orion ✦ — "Everything I do, I do for the Gods."

Location: North Ryke - Dungeon, Floor 1 | Time: Early Morning

Aster’s eyes moved once across the room. The sealed stone door at the far end. The four larger dead set before it like wardens. The heaps in the corners rising into lesser undead. Too many to waste time guessing. Too many to leave unchecked.

Then Astra moved.

She crossed the distance in an instant and crashed into the dead line with enough force to crack stone beneath her feet. Talos was not far behind. Gunfire split the chamber a heartbeat later as Percival’s first shot through the air, and from beside him Silas and Taotie answered with bursts of radiant light and magic.

For a brief moment, the battlefield looked under control.

The smaller skeletons were frail. Disposable. The larger ones seemed different.

Aster’s gaze settled there. He watched as Percival aimed at the staff wielding shaman, good instincts, he thought.

"Right, that first."

His hand moved in one smooth motion, his ring emulating a while light that became an ethereal bow. He planted his feet, then he loosed.

✦ Narrator ✦ — "The careful eye sees what the reckless never live long enough to notice."

Location: North Ryke - Dungeon, Floor 1
Time: Early Morning

The adventurers leapt into action.
Astra struck first. Her fist crashed into the clustered dead with a force that them apart. The smaller skeletons caught in her blows shattered into loose piles of bone that skittered across the chamber floor. Her second strike echoed just as violently, reducing another small cluster to ruin.

Talos surged forward, his massive frame colliding with the line of larger sentinels. His fist drove upward into the spear-wielding giant, the impact cracking ribs and forcing the creature back a half step…but not cleanly.

The sentinel twisted its weapon, deflecting part of the blow even as fractures spread across its frame.

Gunfire and steel followed.

Xian-Fu’s heavy blade came down like a guillotine, smashing another into the ground, before jumping back tactfully.

Percival’s canister shot tore through a group of lesser undead, blasting them apart in a spray of bone and rusted metal.

Then magic lit up the battlefield.

Taotie’s scattered bolts punched through several of the lesser skeletons, blasting them apart where they stood.

Silas followed, radiant energy flaring, his beams lanced toward the axe-wielding sentinel…but the lesser undead reacted.
Several skeletons hurled themselves into the path of the attack. The radiant magic struck them instead, and where it touched, bone did not simply break…it burned, disintegrating into ash.

Percival’s second shot rang out. The bullet screamed toward the staff-bearing sentinel and struck something invisible.

A barrier. It flickered once, and then, gone.

Aster’s spirit arrow followed a heartbeat later. A streak of pale mana cut through the air. But as if defending it’s king, the sword wielding sentinel charged forward, deflecting the bolt into the ceiling with its bent sword.

For a moment, it seemed the party had gained ground. The chamber floor was littered with broken remains.
The staff-wielding sentinel raised its weapon high, faint runes along its length flickering to life. Pale energy seeped outward, crawling across the floor like mist.

Fragments trembled. Shards dragged themselves together. Skulls rolled, snapping back into place atop reforming spines.
One by one… the fallen rose again.

Not all. Where Silas’s radiant magic had burned, there was nothing left to assemble.

The three weapon-wielding sentinels formed a defensive perimeter around the caster while the lesser undead march forward.

Seeing as Astra and Talos are the closest, the undead begin to swarm them, attempting to slow their path to any sentinels and claw at their skin and flesh.
Summary
1. Any small undead attacked were easily defeated, but are being reassembled by the staff-wielding sentinel, except the ones Silas hit.
2. Staff wielding sentinels arcane shield is gone, for now at least.
3. Astra/Talos need an evasive action to not be swarmed.

Astra regarded the results of her assault and the Skeletal foes response...

The blantantness of her attack had been two-parts of an unspoken strategy...

One ~ was to see how fragile and how threatening the swarms of smaller skeletons were... answer Very Fragile, and not very dangerous... they were clearly meant to be a delaying force to allow the larger four Sentinel Skeletons to take advantage of their large numbers to coordinate a response.

But the effectiveness of the Team's concerted attack had put the Sentinels on the defensive trying to stop more targeted attacks form striking home and tied them up playing damage control keeping them from initiating targeted attacks of their own!

But more importantly two ~ the other part of her strategy which she was not certain... unfamiliar with just how capable her Team was... but proved adequate none-the-less to her approval, was push the enemy to reveal some of their strengths and abilities; which her Team pulled off remarkably!

Talos' assault on the Spear Wielding Sentinel revealed that blunt force damage was effective on the Sentinels.
Silas' Radiant beams at the Axe wielding Sentinel reveals the skeletal minions would sacrifice themselves to protect the Sentinels and Radiant energy was Lethal... allowing for simply attacking the Sentinels to draw the lesser skeletons into 'effectively' Self-destructing to save the Sentinels... efficiently accomplished.
Asters' energy arrow revealed even the Sentinels would sacrifice themselves as the Sword Wielding Sentinel proved to protect the Staff wielding Sentinel... also their weapons might be able to deflect energy attacks...
And for good reason.. the Staff Sentinel had the power to restore destroyed minions.. and though not demonstrated... likely repair the Sentinels themselves...

All intel Astra collated into a now evident attack strategy ~

"Excellent effect Team, now to END This ~ No more probing attacks!! Talos... please keep the minions skeletons occupied from overrunning our ranged combatants ~ I'm taking the Fight to their HEART!!"

Then Astra took flight into the air flying above the Skeletal minions out of the fray over them and directly toward the Staff Wielding Sentinel... as fast as a bird in flight cloak fluttering wildly in her wake...

She did not try to avoid any Skeletal Sentinel that tried to block her path in fact she smiled eagerly when they did so As she had expected them to react in just such a fashion ~ she was counting on it... as she plowed into them and kept going ~ her Target the Staff Wielding Sentinel! Becoming a flying hammer as she delivered a Flying Punch at any and all Sentinels that tried to get in her way... but specifically she veered into the Sword Wielding Sentinel as it was the last Sentinel to try to forestall an attack upon the Staff Wielding Sentinel...

Whether she was stopped by the press of the Sentinels or not she did not stop but intentionally grabbed the Sword Wielding Sentinel if IT was easily within reach by his spine and hefted him up swinging him at the Staff Wielding Sentinel like a necrotic club... continued into her attacks raining fist blows down upon the Staff Wielding Sentinel...

- A full body double fisted flying punch into an enemy or a group of enemies using flight to boost impact, hopefully knock opponents flat or send flying from impact - Grade F 0 post cooldown

Percival - [Variant - Intermediate], Educated [Lord], Wanted By [The Emerald Slavers - West Empire] - f7941d
Xian-Fu - [Beast] - ed1c24

The hunter's eyes narrowed behind the monocled lenses, seeing both the mundane shell and the ethereal arrow being interrupted before reaching their target. "Insistent little bugger, aren't you?" Percival muttered as his iron sights were kept leveled at the staff-wielding skeleton, catching the corpses being brought back whole once more by the periphery of his gaze.

"The one who holds the staff, that one should be the focus!" Xian-Fu snarled, blade glinting towards the caster. "Being made into bone meal will most certainly deal with its grunts and minions."

"Quite right. Taking out the Alpha first is always the opening of a successful hunt." Percival's gaze slid to the side, looking at his companions through the side of his eye. "Some of you focus on the lesser skeletons, lest they overrun our position. You included, Xian-Fu."

The plan earned a nod from the tigress, who once more charged in [Xian-Fu - Action 1], slashed her blade with excessive force against one of the newly formed skeletons [Xian-Fu - Action 2], then quickly disengaged with a jump backward. [Xian-Fu - Action 3]

The hunter, on the other hand, having kept his aim true, fired once. [Percival - Action 1] Deft hands worked on loading a new cartridge into the feeding chamber of the rifle, the bolt being brought back and then slammed forward in a hurry. A second shot was fired soon after. [Percival - Action 2]

And, after reloading once more, Percival's aim shifted towards the one protruding stone at the wall. The sprawling mustache curled with his lips in a smile. "Let's see you predict this..." Once more his finger squeezed the trigger, this time around the projectile flied against the stone. The bullet didn't just 'hit' the stone, it sang. A high-pitched whistle as the lead deformed against the ancient masonry, dancing off the walls in a lethal game of billiards before ricocheting once, twice, and thrice before flying towards the skeletal mage at an awkward angle. [Percival - Action 3]

The barrel of his rifle sizzled after the third shot, faint traces of gunpowder rising from the very tip.

It seemed radiant magic was quite effective, seeing as the skeletons he hit weren't able to be revived by the shaman. Unfortunately Silas couldn't expand the area of his attacks without sacrificing his safe range. "Astra, Talos! If you can lead them over to me I can take out a bunch of the little guys." If the shaman was still kicking after Lord Percival's shots then his radiant magics ability to permanently take out the skeletons would be even more important.

In the meantime Silas felt his last attack was still effective, even if it didn't hit the intended target, so he just ran it back. Three more rays of light launched their way towards the axe wielding skeleton once more. Whether they hit his intended target or just some of the minions, either result was fine.

Don't you worry Taotie, Silas thought to his new companion, I'm pretty good at getting away from danger, you'll be safe in my hands.

Watching all those skeletons fall down like dominos felt rather satisfying for Taotie to watch as all those rickety bones fell to the ground. If they were all as weak as this then fighting them was going to be easy as pie to deal with, well at least that's what she thought until she watched as the sentinels revived their fallen brethren as if they didn't all get pummelled by a combination of both physical and magical attacks earlier. Something which Taotie couldn't help but sigh at while rolling her hypothetical eyes at the newly reformed undead army.

'Hah, of course they can keep on coming back, just great. At the very least the one's you blasted know how to stay dead but it isn't something I can replicate at the moment. Well that and any magic in general so good luck on that front.' The few spells she did know were rather taxing to use consistently after all which put her out of the fight momentarily. Fortunately enough though her status as a staff did give her some benefits with one of them being that enemies weren't exactly likely to attack an inanimate object like her over the person holding her so she wasn't exactly a priority target at the moment. 'And I'm hardly worried thank you very much! In fact you should worry about actually dealing with the big guys next if you actually want to stop you all from getting overwhelmed!'

Nothing like the thrill of battle! Talos was already enjoying his company, Astra seemed really good at fighting and she could fly! That really amazed the half giant, the storm of bullets and magic lighted the room up and Talos could say he was having a blast! Aster and Taotie were with him in mission before so he knew he could rely on them (maybe not so much on Taotie...) But seeing how much the others were capable and how they kept they cool and fought in team made him feel really confident about this quest.

"Hahaha so you bony things can hold a punch eh! Lets try that again!"

He darted forward the spear wielding sentinel seeing how he was already hurt from his first attack and trying to remove the cover he was providing for the Shaman. The half giant once again swung his fist like a hammer aiming to broke the big skeleton skull to pieces with a Exhausting Blow. After his attack he would focus on avoiding getting swarmed by the small skeletons and keep himself in front of Silas, Aster and Percival.

Time: Early Morning

The battlefield surged into motion the moment Astra committed fully. But while her excitement leads her to attack, the undead skeletons that had swarmed her kept her from getting very far. They threw themselves at her in desperate waves. Clawed hands raked across her cloak and skin. They could not stop her, but they could slow her. Her blows still land, but she takes minor damage and her feint is ineffective due to the sheer amount of skeletons in her way holding her back. The sword-using skeleton sees an advantage and goes to swing his sword at her head, aiming for a killing blow. (Block, Dodge, or Counter)

Talos fell victim to the same sense of excitement. The skeletons piled onto him, hacking and clawing with reckless abandon. Though his strength held firm, the sheer volume of attacks dragged at his movements. Still, though he takes some damage he provides a great distraction for the others. The skeletons swarming Talos parted just enough for the spear to drive toward his midsection. (Block, Dodge, or Counter)

Xian-Fu carved a path of her own through the undead. Her strike reduced the swarm just a little, even as the threat of reanimation loomed. She quickly struck a few of the minor skeletons and jumped back, her hit and run tactics serving her well.

Further back, Percival’s rifle cracked through the chaos. His first shots tore through several of the lesser skeletons, effective, but fleeting. The Staff Sentinel’s influence pulsed and fallen bones began to knit themselves back together.

Then came the kill shot.

The bullet sang.

Ricocheting with impossible precision, it bypassed the battlefield’s chaos entirely striking the skeletal mage squarely in the head. Bone fractured, power faltered. Not destroyed, but close. The reaction was immediate: the skeletons that were reforming fell and the remaining Sentinels switched to offense.

Silas, maintaining distance, unleashed another volley of radiant energy. His beams lanced into the axe-wielding Sentinel and those around it…searing, burning, erasing. Even so, the Sentinel endured, but as it struggled to drag its body towards the source of attack, it became clear it was on its last legs.

Aster saw the opportunity, taking a chance to use his spirit bow once more to end the Axe-Wielders existence. A bow of ethereal light shot forward, reducing the Sentinel to rubble. Three remain.

And at the rear of it all, Taotie remained poised gathering herself as the tide of battle escalated. The probing phase was over. Come next round, she'd be ready to attack alongside Silas.

The Sentinels abandoned their passive defense and struck with coordinated intent.

From the rear, the Staff Wielding Sentinel began its retaliation. It fired a blast of necrotic energy at Percival (Dodge/Evade/Block), recognizing his gun as the biggest threat. But it wasn’t done.

Its staff pulsed once, twice, before a large concentration of necrotic energy formed at its crest. One last desperate attempt. The smaller skeletons all ceased what they were doing, huddling up to the skeletal shaman, forming a cocoon of bone.

Notes:
1. Aster used Spirit Shot, didn't want to write a whole post for him and delay this further)
2. Talos/Astra I assumed you missed the note about the evasion/block action. I didn't want to penalize too crazy, instead I used dice-rolls to determine the outcomes there, but they will need to defend again as they are in melee range. I put the notes in the post this time to see it easier.
3. Treating some single target attacks as AOEs since the skeletons are relatively weak and we want to get to Moons RP and my week has been crazy

Summary: The lesser skeletons numbers are wearing down. Axe Wielder is dead, Staff Wielder is a damaged, the other two are relatively healthy and attacking Talos/Astra. Boss attack coming!

Percival - [Variant - Intermediate], Educated [Lord], Wanted By [The Emerald Slavers - West Empire] - f7941d
Xian-Fu - [Beast] - ed1c24

Percival’s experienced eyes surveyed the battlefield, seeing that his prodding had the desired effect. “No more on defense; that should bring them down a peg.” His tone dripped with satisfaction. The smug smirk on his lips widened, revealing gold mixed with pearly whites.

However, as the bolt of necrotic energy was fired against him, the hunter’s bushy eyebrows furrowed. He quickly brought his rifle to his chest, shifting to a defensive stance. [Percival - Actions 1/2/3]

Xian-Fu’s reaction was immediate. The tigress whipped her whole body around with a single motion, starting to run towards Percival.

“Support the Grenadier instead!” The order came cut and clear from the man.

And, from the beastkin’s expression, she didn’t like it one bit, letting out a grumbling purr of dissatisfaction. Yet, trusting the judgment of her master, she would instead dart towards Talos’ positioning. [Xian-Fu - Action 1]

There, she swiped the blade in her hands with the same colossal strength as before in a counter-attack against the incoming spear. [Xian-Fu - Action 2] “You better be grateful…” Xian-Fu growled low and dangerously, following the attack with a stab of the blade. [Xian-Fu - Action 3]
