So off topic seems very bare. How about we change that?
What better a topic than the impending release of the sequel to my most cherished game of the last generation. No pressure From.
Joking aside, I am very hyped to get playing a new souls experience and have already pre-ordered the CE.
Who else is excited?

Me! Dark Souls is a fantastic game and I'm very curious to see what direction they are taking this game. From what I've seen of gameplay and trailers, the improvements to gameplay and graphics are very much welcome changes! Smarter A.I. is going to make this oh so much harder, and I'm ready for it.

I can't wait for it either. I got into Dark Souls a while after everyone else but I love it all the same. I'm curious as to how they'll implement the Dual-wielder, since dual-wielding in Dark Souls is a challenge even for veterans. Also the new additions and balances to the healing system look good. Also I do hope they fix something with adventuring system. I love the original but I'll call a spade a spade and the adventuring progress in that game was broken.

just fix the fatrollers, please. I'll be all over the game regardless, but red phantoms were atrocious in the last one thanks to the various and evolving game exploits. Which is okay, I mean, it made the game that much more depressing, it's just, well, whatever.

I've pre-ordered the collectors edition with the statue, and I've been going through and replaying Dark Souls religiously the past few days. I'm so excited for Dark Souls II.

I really hope they fix backstabbing and not make it so easy to do. PVP is hellacious due to that. But, what system will yall be playing on?

As long as there is an equivalent to the Great Club that I can run around with, nekkid smashing everybody who looks at me funny, I"ll be satisfied.

I love Demon's Souls and I loved Dark Souls too. I'm very excited for it so I pre-ordered the collector's edition as well. Gotta have dat badass knight statue. o.o

From what I've seen from it so far, it looks like it's generally the same thing as the previous games, just with a boost in the graphics. Of course, the thing I'm most excited about is the new environments and such. I always found the lonely world of Dark Souls interesting and mysterious. All the vague explanations to the lore behind the game make it feel so fresh, as you can use your own imagination to fill in the blanks.

Hoping they continue to do that with the second one.

I'm excited for it but probably will wait a bit for it to go down in price. I'm not sure about paying sixty dollars for a game I won't actually "enjoy" until three weeks later when I get good at it.

Apparently they've done exactly that, it's not so much a "backstab" but a series of high damage animation moves that apparently can be interrupted by enemies and is slightly harder to find the sweet spot to engage it.

Maybe the backstabbing area will be hard to find at the beginning, but once you get a feel for where it's at, then it shouldn't be too difficult.

The radius at which a successful backstab lands is much smaller. Parrying and Riposting is still present but they are much different.
Cannot wait to get my statue and sit him atop my PC whilst I play this to death.
Any of you on PC, and want to engage in jolly co-operation, even now in DS, gimme a shout!

Will prolly play as my standard Archer/Sword and Shield Dex build. Just hoping that they have something as awesome as the Balder Swag Sword in this game.

Well I can confirm that archery is much more usable. I'm totally going for my heavy Battlemage type. Heavy armour, a zweihander and pyromancy. Kills all of the things.

to celebrate the new dual-stance, and because I never made a true dex build in DkS, I'm thinking of going rogue. Knives or -- if I find them early enough -- WHIPS.

Though, my favorite thing to do in DkS was 'cosplay,' loading up on weapons/armor/magic/techniques of various NPCs and fighting as they would. Gough was fantastic. If I run into somebody cool maybe I'll go for that.
