To say that Masuto was excited was an understatement. He was a bouncing ball of energy from the minute he woke up in the morning. It was only two days from his birthday, and he couldn't wait to be sixteen. There really wasn't much that he would now be able to do, since he did live a free and happy life, but had a feeling that his birthday would be far more important than the others. He couldn't explain the feeling that he had, but the air around him just felt so much different than before. After some time laying in bed, the red haired man popped out of his sheets and raced to get his uniform on. His firebending teacher only taught a few select people, and two of those people just happened to be Masuto and his older sister, Aki. Both of them were blessed with the ability to manipulate fire, and although Masuto was younger than her by a few years, His skill with bending was far past hers.
His sister was waiting for him at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for him to get out of bed so that they two of them wouldn't miss lessons. It was a miracle that they had been able to been accepted as students by one of the most powerful firebenders in Republic City, and she didn't want to disappoint the man. Her head turned to look at the cloc right above the door that led outside and she sighed. Aki looked back up the stairs and called to her brother. "Come on Masuto! We're going to be late and I don't want to tell Master Hiro that we were late because you decided to sleep in!" She could hear his door opening just as she finished speaking by the way that it squeaked as it opened, and saw her younger brother rushing down the stairs. She smiled at him and turned to head out the door, just barely staying in front of Masuto as the pair headed out to go to their lessons.
The reason that Hiro accepted them was mainly because of Masuto. The boy had a lot of power behind his fire at such a young age, and Masuto wouldn't have accepted the teachings unless Aki was taught along with him. Hiro had no choice but to accept and taught the both of them for the past seven years. He had seen them both improve, but with Masuto, there didn't seem to be a stopping point for his abilities. The master believed that if Masuto kept on training, he might even be able to bend lightning some day.
