Peace, a rare commodity in a world so often devastated by war and conflict. Despite years of espionage, treachery, and all out wars, the world has at last reached a state of peace, perhaps an uneasy peace, but peace all the same. The five great Shinobi countries have signed a treaty in the hopes of uniting the great nations, and uttering in a new dawn of peace and tranquility. In order to seal the treaty, each nation has agreed to send a number of their newest recruits into a neutral zone, where they will work together, train together, and live together as one. The ultimate goal is to create a world where all shinobi can live together in harmony.

But as with all things, there are those who oppose the idea. War can be quite…profitable. There are those in the world who desire ultimate power, and those who simply wish to watch the five nations burn.

But you’re not worried about that just yet. You’re young and you’re potential is only limited by the restrictions you place on yourself. Do you have what it takes in order to survive the harsh world of the ninja? Can you unite under one banner of peace to defend the world from those would destroy it? Do you possess the strength and determination to rise through the ranks to become a Jonin, or perhaps something greater? Your fate and the fate of life as we know it is in your hands.

This is a very, very basic premise for what I am hoping can become something great. This is (hopefully) going to be a very expansive and character driven world, where all types of characters will be possible and encouraged. None of the characters from the show exist within this world, whether this time period takes place in the future or in a different reality all together I haven’t really decided yet, but a lot of the specifics of naruto will be used.

Now here’s the thing, this is very much a work in progress. I have a lot of ideas for how to set up character creation, assign squads, and maybe some early on foes and situations that you will have to face, but I will need some help with ideas for how to set up future endeavors. This entire RP will be very much community based. I will be counting on everyone to come together in order to create an awesome world and story, with varied abilities, characters, and situations.

Everyone will be starting out as a Genin, no ifs and or buts. I may need some people to play specific characters, but they will not be the main characters and will mostly be used in order to move the plot along nicely, sort of NPC’s. I will also be very open to story ideas and ideas that might help the RP run smoother.

Each character will be allowed a certain number of moves and abilities that will increase as they progress from genin, to chunin, to jonin. There will also be a stat system that I will be implementing that will be based somewhat on chance. Your strength, chakra, tactical ability, chakra control, and natural ability will be decided by a dice roll, or by a set number of points you distribute yourself. (still developing). Each stat will influence a certain part of combat or how your character will react in a given situation. For example; your chakra number decides just how much chakra you have and how many times you can use one of your more powerful moves, the higher your chakra more times you can use certain ability before getting too tired. While your natural ability affects little things in combat, such as how easy it is for you to pick up a new ability or jutsu. I am actively developing this system, so it might take me a little while in order to get everything set up properly, but I think it will add a certain excitement and fairness to the game. No one gets a perfect character.

Don’t like your stats, don’t worry. Through training and hard work your character has the chance to increase any one of these stats.

Before I get too involved, I want to make sure that there is interest in this idea. I don’t want to put a ton of effort into something that no one wants to join. But if there is a decent amount of interest than expect a lot more information to show up. So let me know, and I am totally open to any suggestions

I was interested up until you mentioned the dice. I'm not averse to having stats and systemic balance, but making initial stats due purely to chance is a bit much. If the starting characters are genin, limited to a few elementary techniques and having less skill and talent than others, why even bother?

I'd like to suggest having everyone start off at the same, roughly equal and pathetic level, and allowing them to grow and branch off as they please.

Otherwise, I hope others find interest in your idea.

Im toying around with either using dice, or giving everyone a set number of points that they can distribute as they please, the latter would probably be more fairr and everyone would start out equally weak but could design their character however they choose. I haven't really decided one way or another yet, but I can see why the dice might be a turn off. Like I said, actively developing

Hmm interesting I'll keep watch for now and throw in ideas.

I quite like the stat idea as it feels D&D, but yeah the dice is iffy for me. While I'm not completely against it I'd want to figure out how it's going to work. For the most part I think we should start with the whole base set of stats and we'll get free development on how we distribute that in the beginning. Then with training, tasks and missions we get to develop those stats, but how much is gained or how successful we are is determined by a roll of dice.
