[OOC] Marvel's Tomorrow Academy

@knighthawkI like your character and I'm interested in seeing how he will change and evolve throughout the roleplay. So he is accepted as I don't see anything that would need to be changed. Although I do have a question. Does he get any enhancements other than, I assume, strength? Just curious.

As described, he is MUCH more resistant to crushing damage and as fire resistant as the ground he absorbed. If he touched drywall, he's in for a bad time. so usually sticks to asphalt or sidewalk concrete. NEVER red brick
His strength doubles for right now as he only has the first layer of stone intermixing with his skin, when he 'levels up' for the bigger plates, the infusion will deepen to his muscle structure and multiply his strength again and the third level will be to the bone with another strength boost.

Still, I'm not quite sure they'd allow him on the team or at least out in the field with his physical composition. He doesn't really have training or abilities that would work. At most he would probably be like... I'm not sure what to call it. He'd stay back with a computer or whatever and monitor from a safe position. Typically. I'm sure we could think of a way around it. Like yeah gadgets and stuff are good and all, but if you don't have anything that would really work for training, it might not work out.

Oh, but he has PLENTY to contribute! His major ability is making people do things by simply speaking to them - to the level of "make an enraged person stop dead in their tracks by using a highly specific voice pattern and volume to remind him of his extremely abusive mother" or "convince a man to eat all of the fingers on his hands after sharing a drink and five minutes of small talk together" so he is good at both negotiating, manipulating intimidating and inspiring people around. His presence makes physical investigation a breeze thanks to the Sherlock Holmes-tier deduction bullshittery, his mathematical capabilities allow him to thrive in combat by analysing enemies' patterns and styles and predicting their movements and attacks in order to evade and counteract and a gun with trick ammo or a taser is actually a very potent weapon against a great deal of heroes if they are not tanks or regenerators and he can provide useful gadgets and first aid.

Plus, isn't the Academy supposed to teach its students the values of teamwork and cooperation and how to properly use their powers by themselves and in conjuction with others' abilities? In the field, they all, squishies included have to work together or suck on Deathlok's rusty robot balls.

@Keksaloti see what you mean. I'm just worried, partially due to the point that many villains and characters in the marvel universe could either resist or is too crazy, strong-willed or some other thing that would bypass the talking thing, even if there are a bunch who would also be susceptible to it.

Also need to be careful with that part because of the potential danger of the ability.

Also I wasn't sayin he couldn't contribute. I know full well he can contribute lol I'm just more worried for him than any other character in the rp because it feels like he is a bit more susceptible to danger.

I'm probably also weary because any character I have seen who can talk to people and make them do stuff has been evil lol there was a Spider-Man in an alternate reality who could talk to people, just talk and they would want to and did commit suicide. And then there is kilgrave(from Jessica jones) who is based on the purple man who has a power. Basically people do whatever he says. Like mind control.

Of course I will give him moments to shine like everyone else. I will accept him. Move him to the character tab as well. Now it's just the juggernaut.

Brainiac is DC. Maybe doom or ultron would be a better example XD

Well, i guess i can change him up a bit to be more enduring and capable of contributing to combat in the typical super-strong flying brick sort of way through crafted weapons and armor. I didn't write any gadgeteering into the char because i just felt that he'd be you know, a kid tony stark - smart guy who is also a flying brick thanks to his crafts.

Mutant's powers typically don't manifest until around the time they turn 13-14 or around the time they hit puberty (hey I didn't write it), but it's still possible for things to come about earlier. I need M to edit a bit and Bad Boy because I'm just no sure about him... I hate to be that guy... But you know... He's a kid... He could easily die. Which would make for something of a short and tragic story on his part and cause very many problems.

Constructive suggestion: A LIGHT body armor, not full-blown iron-man armor, but something like a light exo-frame that makes him 6 feet tall and some ballistic shielding...And a signed waiver/permission slip before each mission for legal purposes. :P
