[OOC] The Iron Curtain: A Cold War NRP

The year is 1950 and the world is very much recovering from the most destructive war in human history. With the introduction of nuclear technology tensions between the great powers only heated up, potentially leading to the introduction of something much greater or perhaps destructive. What this is, only time will tell...

So yes, as you have most likely guessed this is a historical based Cold War NRP. All history up to 1950 has happened, but anything after is at the discretion of the player. One rule I will point out right away, however, is that regime changes are generally frowned upon. If you start as a NATO aligned country then realistically you're not going to turn communist(besides, I think American forces would intervene before that happened). Same also applies to those playing Warsaw Pact. Failed uprisings are allowed, however. Sorry, I just had to make it clear since these RPs have died in the past due to all the players shifting to one side.

Other rules

-This will be a casual-advanced level RP. If you can't manage at least a paragraph or two per post then perhaps this isn't the place for you.
-Because you're dealing with a GM who is literally retarded when it comes to numbers, it's unlikely much in the way of complicated stats will occur here. Unless there's somebody who has numerical skills and experience who is willing to co-GM.
-Due to the nature of this RP there is bound to be power unbalance, but don't let that discourage you. Even smaller countries were able to make a difference during the Cold War(case in point, Cuba). On that note, I do expect that the two Superpowers(USA and USSR) will only go to active players. I don't want our two most prominent roles going to somebody, only to have them never post.
-All regular rules of RP apply here. No Godmodding, powerplaying, etc.

Also, I should note that I'd imagine any NPC countries is where most of our armed conflict between the two sides would occur. Perhaps the two sides trying to gain control over that particular region?

Secondly, for our North Korea player: because this is 1950 the Korean War is just starting. I figured you should take note of that.

Well yea, that's what I mean. Those that are outside both NATO's and Warsaw Pact's influence could be used later on for that purpose. That was kind of the point of the Cold War, an ideological battle to get as many over to your side as you can.
