@OtomostheCrazy I do understand that it feels a bit unfair at this point, but it's supposed to be balanced by the fact that like their game counterparts, the gym leaders' Pokemon won't level up as we do.

Gym leaders are essentially the move tutors for their type.(it's also kind of something that the games' gym leaders do with their Pokemon too. Then again, they also evolve their Pokemon at levels they shouldn't be able to.)

@LuckyBlackCat Wait, why would they need to compensate for low levels? With those moves, Alexis would need to train her Pokémon to around Level 20 at least to even stand a real chance.

I'm just being a sore loser. That, and now I got a feeling that I'm gonna have fun with this collab. Btw, are you starting it or...?

@OtomostheCrazy Do you want to redo it? Or talk to Heckno about some kind of compromise?

@OtomostheCrazy 70-80 base power moves aren't exactly insurmountable at this point. I mean Swablu's fury attack can be the equal to a 100 base power with some luck. Level 12 should be enough to even the odds. I'll admit that Snorunt is at a real disadvantage, and that's something I didn't really account for. I'll figure something out for future battles.

Also keep in mind that in the normal type gym we have access to any tutored normal type moves that are availiable to our Pokemon.

@OtomostheCrazy Ok, PM me with Alexis challenging the gym leader :)

And yeah, if your Pokemon had been lv12 or so, Sand Attack would have evened things out considerably.

Posting up the replay for reference:

@LuckyBlackCat Eh, it'd still be an uphill battle unless that accuracy check was super lucky. I may have overdone the difficulty for the first one. I just need to find a balance here. Furfrou has moves that could certainly be obtained at this point(aside from cotton guard, but that's kind of a signature thing), I think Munchlax is the one that needs tweaking at this point.

@Heckno12 Maybe Munchlax could have lower Attack EVs or something?

@OtomostheCrazy Want to redo it with a few tweaks?

@LuckyBlackCat Well the thing with EVs at this low of a level...Put simply it wouldn't really change anything. Munchlax could stand losing chip away and zen headbutt for something a bit less powerful.

@Heckno12 Ok, what are those moves going to be replaced with?

If you plan on changing Mynchlax's moves, then don't use him for any of the other matches until another day has passed. Otherwise the continuity gets thrown way off.

And I already came up with something to do for the match, so nah. I'm good.

@OtomostheCrazy Let me guess, you're hinting at a certain plan for Alexis?

@Heckno12 Hmmm, what should we do about the moves? Keep them and have us find ways around them, or replace them with less powerful attacks?

You can replace them if you want, all I'm saying is to wait until the next in-game day to apply the changes. Otherwise the continuity gets thrown off.

Also, it ain't gonna the kinda plan you might be thinking...hopefullly.

@LuckyBlackCat At this point I'd swap him back for Furfrou. Most of the Pokemon are fine and easily explained, Munchlax was...slightly less so.

Furfrou @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Fur Coat
Level: 8
EVs: 252 HP / 8 SpA / 208 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Cotton Guard
- Secret Power
- Toxic

Doduo @ Lum Berry
Ability: Tangled Feet
Level: 8
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aerial Ace
- Mud-Slap
- Haze

Bunnelby @ Expert Belt
Ability: Huge Power
Level: 8
EVs: 240 Atk / 40 SpD / 220 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dig
- Double Slap
- Agility

Side note: The only move Munchlax was really unable to have there was chip away, zen headbutt is an egg move. Chip away does happen to be a bit powerful due to the whole "ignore stat changes" thing that makes it almost undodgeable.

Man...I wanna level Deneb's pokemon up, but I don't know how many random unimportant trainers and wild pokemon would be reasonable in the city.

Also, Alexis' pokemon only level up by one after this, right?

@Heckno12 Ok, that could work better.

@OtomostheCrazy Hmmm, looking forward to finding out what this plan is... Argh, really bad writer's block right now. Will try to work through it.

@OtomostheCrazy You could always train at the gym. Plenty of options ther. Yep 2 after a victory or 1 from defeat at a gym.

I could, but I kinda want Deneb's entrance to be a bit more grand. I haven't revealed his name yet for that very same reason.
