Smaug was starting to lose his temper. Liam knew that she was testing him to see how well he could maintain control. The flame on Smaug's tail was growing exponentially.
"Grab her and give her a Blast Burn!" Smaug attempted to grab the other Charizard by the tail and fire Blast Burn past it so she could not make her own tail's flame grow with it.

Zerina grapple with him when he tried to grab her and was able to move him so that the blast burn went into her tail flames, giving it it highest level of power, since Blast burn would stop Smuag next turn she would engulfed herself in the flames and slammed into Smuag with all her might, she would not burn him of course since he was a fire type but it would hurt a lot

Smaug roared out when the combo hit him during his vurnable period. He than fired Focus Blast.

Zerina was hit without time to react but she reviled in the thrill of battle so she roared a massive challenge to Smuag as she blasted a solar beam mixed with her flame thrower at him.

"Protect." Liam called. A green shield appeared and absorbed the combonation attack.

Zerina jump back and then attacked again with combination attack still at the same power level, She was not going easy on Smaug and Sashia suspected that was not what they would want ether.

"Focus Blast!" Liam called. The fighting type beam was launched into the oncomming attack.

The powerful combination attack would overpower the focus blast and hit its foe for full damage. Sashia and Zerina breathed in perfect sync with each over proving how powerful of a bond the two of them shared. However soon, Sashia shook her head and said "Liam, Ether Smuag or you are not giving your all in the fight, You need to understand that being calm will not utilise the full power of Charizard Y, Calm is better suited for a Charizard X. The two of you need to let your anger flow freely if you want to learn to control it and use your full power"

Hearing Sashia's advice, Smaug began to think back to the poacher that tormented him as a Charmander, and whipped his mother. The flame on Smaug's tail began to grow exponetially. Smaug was letting the rage flow through him. Liam began to channel his anger he felt at the poacher.
"Flamethrower, now!" Liam ordered. This time, Smaug's flames were way more intense than they were before. The flames were easily twice as hot as normal. Smaug also mixed Focus Blast into the flames.

Zerina smirked seeing the more powerful attack come at her, so she span her tail round. She took the focus blast directly causing relatively good damage to her but her flames became even more intense as her eyes flashed burning orange as well. If Liam could see, Zerina eyes and her many scars showed she had gone though a very bad life before she met Sashia who she respect more then anything and she knew Sashia respected her.

A smokebomb dropped on the field as Billie and Kidd appeared. They called out all four of their Pokémon: Gengar, Ariados, and Venamoth. Gengar flung a Shadow Ball toward Smaug, while Ariados fired Poison Sting toward Zernia and Venomth's poison powder sprayed Smaug. Smaug's rage grew exponentially. He fired an extremely powerful Blast Burn and sent the Rockets flying. He was not happy that the battle was interupted. With Smaug poisoned, Liam felt it was best to call this a draw

Sasha nodded and walked up to her angered Zerina and stroked her from the bottom of her chin to her wing which made Zerina purr softly as her flame died down to a far more relaxed flame. She also reverted to normal form as Sasha threw Liam an antidote and told him to do the same thing to Smaug as it would calm him straight down. "Next battle, I'm bring in my Charizard x I think" she said to him with a smile as she also told Smaug that he did well for first lesson.

Liam used the Antidote and gently stroked Smaug from the bottom of his chin. Smaug's flame returned to the normal size and he reverted to his normal form. He decided to let Smaug rest and went to relax before going to bed.

Shiranui watched the two Charizard battle and was awestruck at the power they displayed. He registered for the contest and went to the room, thinking about it. "Sashia has won enough ribbons to qualify for the Grand Festival so it would be unlikely for her to compete in this contest," he mused.

Sashia did think about completing in the contest but she instead choose to practice with her pokemon for the up coming Grand festival. Instead she wished Liam and Shiranui good luck in there next contest and would be watching from the stands with Mike, who had the fossil she had asked him to resurrect for her.

The next, day the contest began. Liam was the first named coordinator called up to the stage. He had his Pidgeot do an appeal that involved whippng up a twister and launching itself straight down into it with a corkscrew Brave Bird. It was finished off with a Razor Wind.

"An excellent combonation."
"Pidgeot is remarkable!"
"I can see that you have put a lot of effort into raising your Pidgeot."

Shiranui was mid-way through the line-up and he opened his performance with his Porygon making an entrance through a screen displaying a graphic glitch. Renketsumoh used Trick Room to create a mock-cyberspace backdrop, showed off a Conversion attack, created a triangular ring with Tri Attack and shot it with a Lock-On/Zap Cannon combination, creating a myriad of pixellated sparkles.

Shiranui sent Sapphire the Sableye out against his opponent's Lunatone. It took an Ominous Wind and a Dark Pulse from Sapphire's Mega form to defeat Lunatone.
