Blake looked and stood but and said," its not only his fault i could of helped stopped her as well." He looked at the parents. Preparing himself for an enraged punch from the father.

"So both of you could've stopped it, huh?" their father asked, voice filled with rage. His fists were clenched tightly and it looked as if he were about to spring.

Quickly, his wife placed a hand on his shoulder and pulled him to her side. She placed her hands over his. One might see this as an act of affection, an act of graceful control, yet her knuckles grew white with the force she held her husband's hands in.

Calix looked as his two parents in fear. They both were angry, yet only one seemed able to control it. Actually, he wasn't sure if they would contain their anger. "I'm sorry! This was just something she really wanted to do and I couldn't stop her even if I tried!"

"I'm sorry doesn't fix anything, Calix," his mother said harshly, not looking at either of the two.

He looked down, " yes i couldn't either and look at Adelfa and Calix's parents. He stepped forward and said," if anyone should be in trouble it should be me i could of stopped her. Its not Calix's fault its mind." He looked a bit sad.

"No, it's both of your faults," their mother conceded, "Even Adelfa's. What you did was illegal and dangerous."

"Right!" Calix's father agreed, stamping his foot slightly. "We really could call the police and get this whole thing shut down!" And his threat was genuine, though he wasn't sure the police could actually stop the races.

"What was your name again? Blake, right?" the mother asked, looking over the young man. Calix nodded in the background. "Blake," she repeated, "I'm not dumb. I know you and my daughter might not have been exactly dating, but I think you two should spend some time apart."

Their father nodded, some of his anger dissipating. "I don't want my daughter dating anyone who will put her in this kind of danger without even thinking about it!"

Blake looked and nodded and said," im sorry." He sighed as he took a seat. He said," trust me if i knew they were going to. Pick up the bridge i would of not let her race. But i did tell her not to jump." He sighed and looked down then at Adelfa.

"Right, I get it," Adelfa's mom said, though she wasn't too keen on his blame of Adelfa, even if it was mainly her fault. "I just..." she muttered, eyes tearing up some as she looked at her hurt daughter, "I can't lose her. And it scares me more than anything. I can't lose either of them."

As soon as the first tear fell, her husband was carressing her. He quickly wiped her tears away and pinched her nose, something that seemed to be an action only understood by those two. Calix was happy to see them still close after all of these years, but he couldn't help but feel like he brought on their sorrow.

"At least insurance covers some of this, right?" Calix said in a rather weak attempt to make things better. "And maybe can get someone to fix up the car? I'll help pay for it!"

He looked and said," if i could do anything is pay for the medical bills and fix her car. To make it up to you guys its my fault this happened." He looked at them three. And then at Adelfa. He waited for their response anticipation getting to him he is good at hiding it.

Adelfa's mother smiled, though it was hard to pick out one emotion. She seemed touched, saddened, and somehow happy as well. "No, we'll pay for her medical bills. I doubt she'll be driving for a while," she said, laying her hand over her daughter's, "but if you know someone who can fix cars we'd appreciate it."

"What?! Pay someone to fix that car?" Adelfa's father interjected, "It'll cost more to fix it than to replace it altogether! Might as well scrap it and get a new one."

"Get her a new one? No, she's getting herself a new car if that's the case! Why not have Simon fix it if price is a problem?"

"Oh no, I'm not letting that idiot come near her car! Over my dead body!"

"I don't think Simon know how to fix cars," Calix agreed with his father.

"Okay, fine, what do you guys say then?" his mother asked in a confrontational tone. Calix hated when she was like this. There was nearly no way to win. He decided to keep his mouth closed. He glanced over to his father who seemed to have came up with a similar plan.

The mother and father sat there and thought about it. They looked unsure. They both had to take a mental step back and ask Was it really this kid's fault? In the end, they came with a similar conclusion, their eyes meeting telling it all. Finally, it was Adelfa's father who spoke.

"If you really want to fix the car... Okay," he said, trying to piece everything together in his mind, "We can pay for the parts as long as you can fix it."

Calix was slightly shocked with what he was hearing. They were going to fix the car she wrecked? How was that fair? They yell at him for not protecting her, then fix the car like she's done sort of hero? He shook his head. Adelfa was lucky enough to inherit their parents' old car- of course after working around the house and even taking up babysitting jobs for the brattiest kids on earth- and she chose to wreck it. Although he wouldn't admit it, he was slightly jealous. Had it been him in that crash no one would have fixed the car for him.

"Alright," Adelfa's mother said, slowly nodding her head. Her eyes moved from her daughter to all of the people surrounding. "I think we should all go home for now. If she won't wake up soon, we won't be helping her with all of this talking."

Calix nodded, though felt bad leaving now. He still had a lingering feeling that this was partially his fault. But his mother's words held some truth, they wouldn't be doing her any help making noise as she slept.

"Alright," her mother said and stood. Her husband followed suit, brushing off his pants.

"We'll be back in an hour or two," he said, making sure his wallet and phone were in his pockets.

With that, the two bid their goodbyes and left the room. Although they did their best to mask it, Calix could clearly see the sorrow on their faces. He knew they didn't want to hear their daughter was in the hospital today. They would soon be receiving many bills and calls to take care of both Adelfa and the car. He could only imagine the headache they were in for. "I'll stay too," Calix said, relaxing in a seat.

"That's pretty cool of you," Calix said. He was glad that Blake was so willing to help, but why? Was he that hung up over his sister? "Why help out so much?" Calix asked, "You and Adelfa are friends, sure, but doesn't this cost you a ton?"

"Huh, I'm sorry to hear about that," Calix said, and he truly was. He couldn't imagine losing one of his parents, let alone both of them. "If that happened to them," Calix inquired, "why race?"

Ive been trying to find him and get back at him or at least turn him in my parents cade went cold after they didn't find the guy." He looks at Calix and then at adelfa." Its hard loosing people close to u and especially family. Sometimes the wounds never heal."

"Yeah," Calix said, looking at his sister. He was learning a new level to this guy, but it still didn't excuse his negative influence.
