Not making an excuse. Season One sucked COCK, there's no doubt about it. Their priorities were just garbage. Went for a romance ending no one would have cared about. Aang could have ended up single at the end of the original series and the show would still be great. I'm not sure why Toph did the things she did, and why she chose to be in exile in a swamp rather than be with her family in her final years. Everyone just seemed to accept it. I wonder if it's because she's thinking about Sokka, the one that got away xDDD

The simple things in life are often the most precious. I also think that Mako wasn't comfortable with a date that cost a lot of money, for obvious reasons.

It wasn't intended to be a sympathy thing but I do see where you are coming from. But the point is that Mako's actions, with Korra's disregard for their relationship, does make her trigger it early. Mako IS a jerk, and he DID put a knife in all their flawless romancing thus far by being jealous of his brother spending time with someone that made him happy. He'd deserve a scalding tbh.

So many fucking issues with the show. I wanted to love it, I really did. But damn, ALTA did things so fucking well, romance was handled with dignity, characters developed, I wonder what so wrong. /sigh

I don't care what we use for the side roles (while they're still side/minor roles lol) but I wouldn't mind some consistency and pretty posts. Maybe when Mako is helping Asami learn fire bending she can burn him up a little but she's so nice, she'd feel super bad right now and then unsure how to feel cause Mako is a dick but she wouldn't mean to hurt him physically or emotionally, despite what he did to her. Awwwh.

I just type mine in as I go or pick a color and highlight and go back and change to whichever color I wanted that isn't in the drop menu on the Guild. It's just a bbcode color that isn't weird numbers like the ones we have to pick from. I'll probably use goldenrod then. XD

This night was on the night of a pro-bending match already. But it's AU so it's cool we can work around it. We can just say they won that match and this shit didn't start until after that. Yo KORRA CAME OFF REAL FUCKING STRONG THO LMAO go rewatch it. It was Episode 5. COMPLETE disregard for Asami and she knew Bolin was into her. Holy shit what EXCUSE DO I HAVE? I AM USING A SCUMBAG PROTAGONIST!

We don't need to follow the canon timeline too much at this point if we've changed Amon's own motives and Asami's backstory. So Bolin, Korra and Mako had a match, Mako lingered around like a creep while Bolin and Korra went out to eat and stuff? Mako catches them back near the arena? Urgh you rewatched the episode? I thought it was 5 or 6...the wiki didn't help much. But the attack itself can happen tomorrow night, no match then. Yeah?

I wouldn't say CREEPY. Bolin and Mako DO live in the arena. It's possible he was just heading out to visit Asami when he saw Bolin skipping away and Korra nearby, so he decided to confront her.

I didn't rewatch the whole episode, just the clip I needed to get the insight I needed. Korra didn't respect Asami for shit xD

Yeah tomorrow night. Mako and Asami opt to spend the night together rather than be around Korra after what happened, while Bolin and Korra were watching the game, since they'd play the winner of that match. It all adds up. Then Amon takes Tanno's bending.

A genuine question then, do you think Mako meant to confront Bolin and/or Korra right then and there or was it something he thought about doing? My question being the context of Mako being in the area.

Korra felt so oddly threatened by Asami I think, which makes no sense to me. I think Korra liked how things were and Asami was a change, even though Asami had done nothing but be super hospitable and nice to the group, even as kind of an outsider.

Yep sounds good to me. Poor Tanno, but whatever. Amon gots to make his point.

I think it was sheer coincidence that he caught them when he did, but I think it stewed in his mind that she went with Bolin just to bother him. And it did. So he planned on confronting Korra later, but later turned into NOW. Bolin walking away and giving him the chance to talk to Korra alone was an opportunity.

Maybe in some way Korra did feel like Asami was 'intruding' on their team, but I don't think she ever meant to come off as rude as she did. She NEVER brought anything up to Asami, and probably never would have if it wasn't for Bolin saying something in canon. Mako is just as guilty. But seeing as this is AU and we have time to explore, I'll need to figure that part out soon.

Mako could have walked away, confronted Korra in a different, more controlled setting. It seems so sleazy for him to go when Bolin just happens to leave for a few minutes. XD The fact is, it bothered Mako, he could have done so many other things. Korra then kissed someone in a relationship...expecting WHAT to happen exactly? -shakes head- God help you and whatever logic your characters are running on XD

The issue I have most with Korra is that Aang is fucking younger than her yet he makes better choices and though he is a bit ignorant about people, he doesn't exclude people or distance anyone new to the group, he was so open to meeting people and helping them. I know it's comparing apples and oranges but it just saddens me. Korra is older, should know better. I mean she was paranoid about Asami but it was her dad's meddling. I think she even openly doubted Asami's motives? Asami takes Mako and Bolin in, no questions asked and yet Korra still wants to get between Asami and Mako? Mako never leaves Korra's side when she's hurt, totally ignoring the comfort Asami is trying to offer him as he's clearly upset. But Korra has Tenzin and Bolin and others to look after her. I just...I can't. Fuck. It's such a mess and it breaks my heart to see Bolin and Asami so fucking wrecked by the choices made.

ITS ALMOST LIKE KORRA ISN'T AS STRONG AND AGREEABLE A PROTAGONIST AS AANG WAS AND THAT LOK WASN'T AS GOOD AS A:TLA AS A WHOLE. But I won't lie, Season 3 and 4 were lit just because I loved the antagonists so much. We got a chance to do something better if possible. DON'T STOP BELIEVING~

Mako should just say "Yep I'm terrible..." and leave it at that. I'm sure that would go over. But this is for the best, Asami and Mako need to heal.

The fact that the saving grace can be the antagonists isn't good. :/ God, how could they make someone so unfuckingbalanced like Korra, the fucking Avatar. I mean yeah Aang lost his shit now and then but it hurt him and he understood his emotions better. It's like Korra resists air bending and that's why she can't be a whole person. Or something. I dunno. It's so....sad.

Hopefully we can do more for Korra, Bolin, Asami, Mako and co than the show did. Gotta believe.
