ok i can start in the city as long as my character thinks we're going to eventually leave. There are some cities in America with walls around their highways and interstates, basically making them a prison, which is horrific in a post-apoc scenario. i dont know if NYC is the same way.

like i said, i'll make a veteran/country/loner guy if thats ok :)

Couple of questions.

- What parameters does inventory have? Is there a weight limit with things being their actual size (as in, if you're carrying a cinder block, you wouldn't realistically be able to carry anything else) or is it a "magic sack" setup (as in, it only matters how many slots you have open, not what is in them)?

- Is this high casual or low casual? I personally don't want to write seven paragraphs per post (I have seen people post 10+ paragraphs in casual), because I end up writing a bunch of filler about my character rather than progressing the story.

- Will you provide a day/night cycle? Or is it irrelevant since we're underground?

Also, you've already established Multimind as the antagonist. Doesn't that take away from the point of having a secret antagonist? Nothing against Multimind at all, but knowing who the antagonist is ahead of time biases the players and makes it more difficult to feign surprise or make bad decisions (trusting the antagonist). Sure it would be awesome to ally with the bad guy without knowing it and get backstabbed later, but if I already know he's bad, it loses the element of surprise.

Or maybe that's just me.

@Lady SeluneWell, you could. The thing would be trying to find the necessary materials and such. And if you want to try and cultivate, go on ahead, there's nothing stopping you. (To be honest, I didn't think of that, hehe.)

@Infamous EmpathAnd though I would prefer it the characters were younger, you could make an adult veteran/country/loner guy if you'd like. Should be interesting.

@MatthiasAngel1. Considering the realism I try to put in this, I think it would be fun to have SOMETHING unrealistic. So, weight doesn't matter that much. However, you can't put things too far gone in your inventory like a car or something like that. Something that could semi-realistically fit on your person albeit at a decreased weight to not slow things down too much.
2. I would put this at anywhere from low to high casual, it all depends on what you want to write for your character. I mean, when dialogue happens, I know how difficult it is to try and write 7 paragraphs just because someone said 'hi' to your character. So, I say write as much as you can but don't try to just add stuff on to reach some sort of quota.
3. It doesn't matter much considering you'll be underground. However, above ground the day and night can affect how your characters progress. For example, if someone doesn't have a flashlight at night, or just some sort of light, it can be difficult to maneuver around or find stuff. You might even miss some things. It also might get a little cooler at night but, otherwise, it works primarily as normal to give an indication on the days going by.

And the point wasn't really to HIDE who the antagonist is. I mean, the real mystery comes from the fact that you're not sure what they can do. I mean, I mentioned that the antagonist had only a certain amount of energy he could use to do stuff, but you're not sure of how much energy it costs OR how much he starts with. Besides, it's not as if he'll be playing a character so you knowing who he is doesn't really affect the fact that he makes stuff happen.

also if anything happens to multimind, i wanna be the badguy next. i RP as the villain in 99% of my RPs lol

rough CS (i honestly just basically made a younger version of me)

Name: Elijah McDonnell
Nickname(s): Eli (main one), Mac, Jesus (cuz I look like him, not act like him)
Gender: Male
Age: late 20s? since you prefer younger
Outward personality (since most of his personality will come out IC): Very nice, generous, kind, etc. Has a temper. Slightly controlling. Gets jealous easily. Highly creative (like obsessively creative). Highly intelligent (like genius, except with math cuz fuck math). Intuitive. Introverted (very). Perceptive. Gets very rational and logical during conflict. When stressed or distracted, forgets things or overlooks things. Empathic (can sense the emotions of others very easily).

Background (very rough draft):
Jobs: Inventory in Army (18 - 24). Inventory and security in retail (22 - pre-apoc).
Came to NY to visit his sister, who called for help. Never found her. His parents and siblings are in NC.

Weapons: Even before the apoc, he carried at least one knife everywhere so at least one or two pocket knives or bowie knives. If guns are allowed, a shotgun, handgun, and assault rifle.

The impression I got concerning the antagonist was that it is not a character hiding within the party or something, but rather the sum of all misfortune that happens to our characters. So, that would include controlling monsters, making accidents happen, etc. I could be wrong, though.

@BubblegumQueen Oh I see. But then I would expect the other six to band together against the antagonist, so what good are powers if people already avoid/distrust/attack you? The antagonist wouldn't get to develop their character or build trust/alliances if they're rooted out immediately.

@Infamous Empath You could spend the whole time saying "When I was your age..."

@Infamous Empathooooooo, I like it. I like it a lot... I'll let it happen. I'm also gonna raise the age bracket to 8-30. And sure, if anything happens the role is yours. And you can have a gun, however you only have one thing of ammo. After that, you'll need to get more.@AiralinActually, you're exactly right. Like, exactly right. Great job figuring that out!
