Major regional headquarters for a variety of notable mega-corporations, New-Hong Kong leads the world in cyber-technological advancements, and is well known for both its well oiled infrastructure and free economic rules. New-Hong Kong is a jewel of an opportunity for the rich, powerful and entrepreneurially minded, and money and fame flows freely for these people.

Welcome to the New-Hong Kong Com-Res(Commercial & Residential) District 9, or as its inhabitants like to call it: the Valhalla District. As far as standards in Year 2157 go, its not a slum, but its not much better. Built in the shadow of the more notable Business District 8, Valhalla is the slowly dying no-man's zone between the more gentrified and technologically advanced city, and the run-down chinese quarter and slums. You've spent the better part of your adult life living here, a low-level wage worker for one of the many megacorps in the area, slowly eking out a living that's not quite squalid but barely comfortable.

Your life thus far has been relatively uneventful, you grew up, went to school, didn't die, and found yourself working at Vitality MacroTechnology, a Cybernetics company. You spend most of your days pushing various paperwork and hoping you don't get fired for looking the wrong person in the eye, and you spend your nights wasting your hard earned cash on synth-Alcohol and cheap favors at your local bar- Pretty much the same as every other low-end wage-worker these days.

But when your old friend and coworker, Tommy DeGarro sends you a desperate message from a private terminal, you can't help but get the feeling something interesting is about to happen.

I've toyed with the idea of maybe making a blog post from my character's POV infrequently in the IC for narrative's sake. You think that might be doable/useful for you as GM to see inside her head or nah?

Perhaps as a header or once in a while- not too certain when she'll have the opportunity or time to make regular blog posts, given the circumstances, but it might work out.

I figure it might be tough. Though I do assume cell phones and computers are still the same? What about things like food or currency?

Cell phones and computers operate in a similar manner. Most drinks and a lot poor people food is synthetic/soy compounds- a la soykaf for coffee and foods and such. Cuts of fresh beef is a luxury. Money is mostly digital, carried in credsticks - the size of a USB drive. They come in secured and unsecured forms.

Secured credsticks are tied to a person's ID number, secure but unusable to those without it. Unsecured credsticks are like reloadable prepaid cards. They can he loaded up with money and whoever holds the stick has access to the funds.

Alright, good to know, I've got a good idea of the day to day life then. Are idol groups still a thing over there? Sorry I had to ask. XD

Though I have to imagine if prosthetic robotic limbs are all the rage, some managers may be purposefully injuring their singers and dancers so they can accessorize better. Or something. That's so sad lol

I wouldn't be too surprised if some corporations just built idols- like androids with vocals.

Also post is up- sorry if it looks like I did some controlling of Hisano. Just had to set the atmosphere and get the ball rolling- wont do it anymore, promise! :o

Nah the post was good, I was figuring you'd need to do some puppeteering or filling in the blanks and it all looks fine with me, honestly. XD

So then the last message is Hisano sending it to Tommy and while I don't know what Hisano wants, you'll reveal that come the reply to my post. Mine of course taking us there.

Or was it Tommy who needed to speak urgently? I assume the former based on the text but I wanna be sure my post comes out right just in case.

I gotta go eat dinner and then get another post up but it's pretty likely I can get to this before I hit the hay~

even as a puppeteer, I'd never go as far as to assume what someone else's character says

" 'Sano " is Tommy's nickname for Hisano
